Sarah- Oh glad to hear Kayla is't the only one LOL. I have finally bit the bullet and made her leave them in her cot before she gets up. She was a bit whingey the first day or two, but now is pretty much fine with it. I say "ta for the wrap" and she hands it to me. I then hang it on the cot. The dummy she isn't so willing to give up, but she does let got with her mouth if I pull on it. Yesterday though. after her nap, she said "ta" and gave me both the wrap and dummy without asking. So I think we are back on track

Katie- Oh not long till hubby joins you. I bet you will be glad to see him. Sorry to hear about your family troubles. Hope they sort themselves out. As for the toddler book, my clinic nurse recommended :Toddler Taming. I bought it and it is a VERY good and easy read, and I found his tips very helpful.

Another question: Kayla still has a bottle of milk (200ml) 3 times a day (mid morning, early afternoon, and 30min before bed of an evening). She usues Avent bottles and uses the spouts not the teat. So I don't think the spout will do as much damage to her teeth as a teat is meant to, so I am not "overly" concerned. But I will have to wean her eventually and would like to do it before she is 2. So my questions are:

Is your toddler weaned off the bottle/breast? How did you switch them to a cup?

She uses a tommy tippee straw cup for her water, and I have tried milk in it but she won't take it. It's like she "knows" it is meant to be for water, and the bottle is for milk.

TIA for any advice. I might post in another section about it too

    Hi there!!

    @Nadine
Zara gets a bottle at night and in the mornings a glass, so we have not had to deal with that quite yet... I have tried a glass in the evening a few times and she has been quite okay with it, BUT I remember with Wolf that he never drank any milk from the glass it was so weird. I totally weaned him of bottles when he turned 1 year and gave him a glass every evening but he hardly drank anything for a while. Now he is much better. I don't know what it is but don't worry too much, it will change. You can also try making a light chocolate milk for breakie or give yoghurt or cheese for lunch instead of the lunch time bottle.
re. the dummy, Wolf is totally hooked on his dummy and for a while it was really hard to take it from him at day time. he still sleeps with it and if he sees it will put it in his mouth.
Zara is only interested in nicking it from him and running away with it, lol, but if you give her one she spits it out shortly after.

    @ Katie
omg that sounds like such a drama with your step mum. how nasty... that must have been quite bad to leave after just 1 week, you guys must have still been jetlagged!
the photo on the ticker of ben is sooooooo cute!! he looks like such a big boy!!

it's so funny re. you wanting a book on toddlers cause i had the same thing with Wolf. When he was that age, I went and bought a stack of books because I was at the end of my wits with him.
What I do these days when he is naughty is that I put him in his cot for a time out. I started that when he was about 16 months I think... can't quite remember ... I found it a very trying time with Wolf... Zara so far (fingers crossed) is much easier in that respect...

    News from us? hmmm
Ibiza was great, the kids loved hanging out with each other. At the moment MIL and SIL are over from Sydney and it's raining cats and dogs not fair. Last weekend we went to my niece's christening in Germany and this weekend we have a wedding in Wales... busy busy busy and flying with 2 little kids can be quite exhausting...

nadine - zara still has morning milk in a sippy cup (tomme tippee) as she prefers to ly down when having it. but drinks milk out of a normal during the day. aiden is still on a bottle. i start swapping to sippy cups when zara was 18 months so aiden will start soon. i just do it gradually. 1/2 a cup to start of with once a day and keep increasing it.
aiden is too still on 3 bottles, morning, arvo and night - he's love them!!!

    kaydee - i hope your dad is ok....nasty step-mum!!!

snowy - glad to hear your all well. bad luck bout the weather though.

my kids are all wonderful. zara is 4 today. im sad yet happy at the same time. i can't believe she's 4...she's already talking about going to school when she's 5 1/2, god im gunna be lost!!! she's soooo grown up yet still so playful which i love to watch. aiden has had a few ulcers on his tongue and has been unwell for a few days but he's back fighting fit now.
last night we went to penguins at phillip island...GOD it was cold but the kids loved it.

    i hope everywell is well!

    take care
    narelle

We're so quiet recently. I hope everyone is well.

Narelle, oh wow on Zara turning 4! She is a big girl, hey? Wolf keeps telling me he's a big boy Everytime I say "oh you are such a sweet little boy" or "oh are you a little fireman" he always stresses that he is big. lol. I have to say I am freaking out about Wolf turning 3 this year... where did time go? it seems like just last year that I had him... just last year that he was this little baby... and now he is such a big boy and acting all tough...

Zara has 8 teeth now, 4 on top, 4 on the bottom. I hope the drooling will subside soon... Wolf stopped way earlier... it's driving me nuts... I have to change her twice a day still as she is soaking wet by lunch time.

She recently started saying "Oh no!" .. it's so cute! She also has discovered the word "No" in general and will cross her arms, turn away from you and go "NO!" if she doesn't want something. And if she wants you to do something but you don't want that, she covers her eyes with her hands and fake cries. She is such a drama queen!! I don't know where she picked it up... maybe she's just a natural...lol...

    Hi everyone!!

Katie, how is it in Oz?? When are you heading back to Germany? I am sure you are having a fabulous time, despite the cold weather. Did you buy some "toddler taming" books? Robin Barker has a sequel to her Baby Love which I LOVE.

Narelle, wow... coming up to the half way mark! Is it just me or has it gone really quickly? Have you told ppl? Hope you are feeling well and are in the good, glowy part of pregnancy and enjoying it.

Teena, how are you? Any plans for a no. 2 at your end? How is work? How is princess Allegra? Everytime I put Zara in her Cotton On skinny jeans I think of you! Though boy, she is growing out of all her no.1 clothes... so scary.. I can't believe she is in size 2 in most things now (but it's summer here, so can make pants last a bit longer ... and she is so skinny, she actually has a Polo Ralph Lauren pair that says 9 months and she is wearing them as 3/4 pants now, lol perfect, fit though for her now whereas before they were so baggy on her)

Nadine, good to see you in the pre-ttc group! Nice to have someone there I know. Who knows... maybe we'll be pg together again. That would be neat.

Sarah, hope you too have reached the "gorgeous" part of pregnancy now and no more m/s for you (blurg.. not looking fwd to that).

Us, well, Zara is teething again. She has 4 molars pushing through. No wonder she is waking every night crying. More talking too. Latest word is "money"... seems to fit perfectly seeing that DH and I are both in banking... lol. Kids were a bit crazy while we had so much stuff going on but things have calmed down again. We are going to Berlin tomorrow where Wolf was born. Very excited about seeing my friends there.

    Hope you all are well!
