Hi Emily - so sorry to hear you've been unwell, but good to hear Ruby is well. Is she a giggler too? I have Liebling waving his hands and giggling away as I type. Is Ruby a hairy or a baldie, as I can't really see under the hat?

Lisa - I think a baby thriving is better than looking at charts. Did you know those charts are for bottle-fed babies, so a healthy breastfed baby shouldn't be as big.

Michelle - I don't understand how people can compare babies (although isn't that what we do a bit here?). I mean, each baby is so individual. I don't mind that DS isn't sleeping though as half the babies here are doing, he's vocalising so well and rolls over (so proud!) so just proof each baby learns new skills at his or her own rate.

As for me, DH dragged me out the house last night to show me that the car was so badly damaged there's no hope of recovering the rear of it. The rear doors don't close properly - how could I have missed it? Well, because I never thought to check the car, I just wanted to make sure Liebling was OK. He pointed out the wheel arches have been bent out of shape and a tyre could have burst on the way home from rubbing. I just didn't even think to check the car at all until the lad who hit me said "um..." when I said "well, the cars are OK." I have quite bad whiplash, for which I am going to take some paracetamol today (can't take anything else, ouch - actually may try the TENS machine on it) and we have no car for the forseeable future. Nor do we have a pram or a carseat (the pram was crushed in the boot, we can use it but it's really wobbly and we'd rather not trust it). Good thing I have a babysling. DH reckons as I was stationary, the other car had to be doing about 40mph (about 70km/h) to have caused that damage. OK, as I was breaking and doing about 10mph when I had to do an emergency stop I no longer feel sorry for the young chap. Although I did really scare him when he saw me lift a baby out of the back of the car... good. He should learn how to drive. Anyway, DS was seen by the doctor last night as he was sleeping all afternoon, but she gave him the all-clear so I feel a bit better. He hadn't slept much the night before nor the morning so sleeping in the afternoon isn't desirable, but OK. He did sleep 8.30-12, 12-4.30 and 4.30-7 so I can't complain too much. I'm saying 8.30, I fell asleep rocking him to his lullaby machine and woke up at 9, so it could have been a bit later.
