That was a particularly good night - he goes anywhere from 10 - 12hrs
Hi Everyone!
So sorry for the lack of posts lately!!
Everything here is going great! Noah is gorgeous!! He started to roll homself from back to front this week, and now he sleeps on his tummy due to him rolling himself over..bit scary at first but I am getting used to it now!!
I hope that you are all doing well! Will hopefully catch up with replies soon!!!
Hi Everyone,
Minky -- great to hear from you. Noah looks so grown up!
Prama -- how is lakshman have his nappies settled?
Jacki -- sounds like you have got a bit of a schedule happening. I won't say that 'r' word!
Well I don't know what my DD is up to, she was awake for feeds twice overnight, once at 1.30 and then again at 5.30. She went back to bed at 7am! Must be a growth spurt. She has been having four feeds during the day and then one overnight most nights. She hasn't been having her big sleeps either. She is still very happy and did roll from back to tummy yesterday which I missed!
We had a great time at Disney on Ice -- Benjamin loved it and was very excited. He was so cute, he said he wished Daddy and Nicholas were with us but loved having just Mummy time.
Have a good day everyone.
DD is awake again
Sue:lol:
Hi everyone!
Well, it has been a looong time between posts for me here!
Hope you are all doing well.
Jordan is great. He does still wake up a lot at night - usually dream feed him at about 10, then he will be awake at 1, 3, 5 then 6, but I'm somehow not as tired as I used to be! We are still exclusively BF.
How are all of you and your bubs?
hi minky!!
is it ok to sleep on their tummy? my mum said once they turn onto their tummies, they'll start to sleep that way. but SIDS say they shouldn't till 6mths. I'm still scared he wont be able to breathe. he gets onto his tummy and gets very frustrated he cant go back. once or twice he has rolled back again onto his back.
sue - thanks for asking. we got the results of his urine test today, the paed said there's white cells so could be UTI. no blood or crystals, tho there was pinky/orange yest. she said dont worry about that, we'll check do another sample and a culture too.
roquen - welcome back!!! how's jordon doing?
Hi Prama, yeh its so hard now that he is rolling himself onto his belly, I walk into his room and there he is fast asleep, I try to roll him back when I can though, it is very scary!! I hope that the next sample and culture go well!! Let us know!
Hi Roquen, wow thats great that you are still b/feeding!!!
Hi Sue, I am very jealous that you went to see Disney on Ice! I would love to take DD to something like that one day, she would love it! Great to hear that you all had an awesome time!!
Hi Jacki, wow!! 12 hour nights!!!! How did you score that??..lol..
Oohh better go..bottle time!
minky - love that pix of noah!! he's so handsome!
Minky - No idea but I am more than aware of how lucky I am (and how quickly it can and does change !!). I give him the biggest hug and kiss every morning and say "thank you" !!
He did go through a phase for about 2 weeks of waking up at about 1.00am and staying away for 2.5 hours.
Hey Prama - he is great, having so much fun with him, I swear every day he has grown a bit, and figured out how to do something else! Such an amazing experience.
Is anyone else in this group still BF? I'm already copping the "how long will you breastfeed for?" questions and have just been replying with " as long as he needs me to!"
Hi Roquen- yep still bf here. All going well.
Hello to everyone today. I really have bugger all to say!
Hey!
I'm still BF and FF.
TBH, Im getting tired of doing both, it just takes so much time and work. Im exhausted.
the first feed is full BF, then BF+FF, then only FF, and the others are BF+FF. He's doing 4-5feeds a day. and just before bed, i give him a BF top up and he often falls a sleep.
I dunno when I'll stop BF, maybe when he has teeth and decides it's fun biting his Ma!
Even if I do go FF during the day, I'll still BF him, first thing and last thing at night.
Roquen - I have been good! Going to the gym few times a week, there's a Fitness First just 10mins drive from mum and dad's. and not over eating, very very hard I tell you. When there's chciken rice, chilli crab, buttered prawns, sweat sour fish, just 5 mins walk from home!!!!
Did I tell you my very public BF story.
We were in Singapore Changi airport, headign back to Kuala Lumpur. We got there about 2.45pm , our flight at 5.30pm. We asked if we could get on an earlier flight (there's a flight every hr or 2hrs). and the lady at check in said, yes, you're on the 3.30 flight and you hav to go to the gate now.
Poopy starts gettign grizzly. as we head towards immigration, he starts to cry and in the queue he's screaming his head off.
Everyone's looking at us, he's in the baby bjorn and i couldnt do anything. the immigration officer gave me a sympathetic smile..
before we could get to the gate, we had to get a tax refund on our digital camera. Spre lets you claim 7% tax back when you buy electronic goods there. so whole of changi airport now hears poopy screaming. Steve goes to the tax counter. we're so rush rush as we have to get to teh gate.
I had sit on the floor in the middle of the airport in a conservative country like Spore and get my boob out, with every passing person looking, eitehr smiling or embarrased and feed poopy!
Steve comes out, and poopy luckily has now fallen asleep. As we half run to the gate, we see it's closing.. i couldnt run as poopy's head would be bouncing. but finally made it before they shut the gate!
So! I'll never be embarrased breastfeeding in public again!!!!
Hi All,
Yes, we are still BF'ing here too. All is well and I am enjoying the experience quite a lot. I will be sad to give it away i think. I am getting all the same questions as you Roquen...ans i give the same answer!
I am off to have a nap...i JUST got Zoe to sleep after she has gone the whole day today on a 30 minute power-nap at about 12:30pm!! Cheeky little bugger has flatly refused to sleep all day. At 4:30pm i decided to wrap her up tight so she couldn't wriggle and that finally worked!!! PHEW!!!!
Hi all!!!
How are you girls? Have missed you!
Just a quick update on our travels! All went well; we spent about 35 hours in transit without any sleep for DH or me. Lucky Jasper slept really well in my arms most of the time and only cried twice on the whole trip! I have to admit that I fed him to sleep and kept him on my lap while sleeping as to not wake him up. The bassinet didn't look too comfortable so we didn't use it. But I am sooo glad I was still breastfeeding as I could put him on the boob whenever he even so much as thought about crying; made all the difference.
The jetlag wasn't as bad as expected; the second night he was back in his 5 o'clock night time routine, so we haven't had any trouble at all. Today he started to roll from his tummy to his back; very happy about that as he doesn't usually enjoy being on his tummy. He is also starting to move towards favourite toys when on his tummy. The last couple of weeks he has changed so much; his face is filling out more, he has started poking his tung out and also discovered he can cough at any time! So you can regularly hear his fake cough. Really funny!
OK, DS is cranky and has to go to bed; he sleeps in the computer room so will have to go!
Bye for now!
Roquen - still breastfeeding with no intention of stopping - couldn't even it wanted to as DS flatly refuses the bottle !! Have decided not to even bother trying him anymore. I should count myself lucky that we have been able to breastfeed for so long without any problems when many people struggle. So will introduce sippy cup when start solids in a couple of weeks.
Had my mums group over for lunch today - house now a mess (next time I host as bubs will be crawling - imagine the mess then!!). Gotta run, too much to do before DS wakes and no time for personals.
xx J
esme - great to hear from you!
so glad all went well! Well done!
Lakshman is rolling fr back to tummy but not quite tummy to back, he gets stuck then gets very cross.
he's also doing a Gene Simmons, really poking his tongue out, even on the boob. like licking hte nipple and the smacks his lips. cheeky bugger.
LOL Prama, very cute!
No rolling here, just lots of laughs and smiles and a total boobie bandit.
Hi guys.
I am still BFing too and have no intention of stopping until she is 12 months old and I go back to work, so my response would be the same! It is so good for her and I am very lucky to have had no trouble BFing at all, so I will be continuing!
Thanks everyone for your support. I have been feeling really down lately. Of course it is easy to feel depressed when not getting enough sleep, and I always blame myself for everything, like DD not sleeping properly. I feel like I have done something wrong but am having such a hard time changing it! I have just gotten her down for a nap now, and managed to make her sleep in her own bed for an hour last night, plus a really decent sleep yest afternoon, so things are a little better. I wasn't sure if she was sick or something or if this sleeping in bed with us was going to become a new habit, and I just can't handle sleeping like that every night and the sleep deprivation was really starting to get to me! I am feeling a lot better today.
Esme - wow, you guys did such a great job getting through that flight without any troubles at all! Good on you! I may also just give DD the boob every time she cries when we go away and hope that works for us too!
DD still hasn't managed to roll from her tummy to her back, but still constantly rolls from her back to her tummy!
prama - good on you for BFing in public like that! You will be able to do it anywhere now!
I have also been wondering about them sleeping on their tummies. DD doesn't tend to roll over in bed and I tuck her in pretty tightly so she can't, but I have wondered if maybe she would sleep better on her tummy, but am too worried to put her down like that!
minky - I love the new pic of Noah!
I had DD weighed today and she is 7kg, over double her birth weight already! She is quite long too.
Jacki - I hope those great sleeps continue! We need a bit of that around my place!!
Roquen - Amelie (DD2) is fully BF and i think she's very happy with it! DD1 is also breastfed and she just turned 2 years old this week. She has it once a day or so now (and literally only 2 mins) and it's been a godsend esp. when she's been ill or teething. The easiest solution i can think of to calm an infant. She also has no intention of stopping any time soon!
Hi Everyone,
Esme -- great to hear everything is going well. They change so quickly don't they.
Prama -- PMSL -- he he he will be a booby man for sure when he is bigger LOL. Well done on the breast feeding in public. Love the story -- I had flashes of you doing the baywatch run to the airport gate he he.
Jacki -- it is amazing how messy a house can get in such a short space of time. Yes when they are crawling and walking it will be soooooo much messier.
Well done to everyone who is still breastfeeding -- I am envious.
I had a lovely cuddle with DD this morning -- she has really found her voice and her squeal! She loves being kissed just under her left ear and on her neck -- she was really laughin and chuckling this morning it was gorgeous. We also do nosey nosey nosey where we rub noses and she laughs and laughs.
Not much else to report have been doing lots of cooking with the boys to keep them occupied over the school holidays. We will make some more biscuits today and then some painting I have been told by DS1
Have a good day everyone and Hi to everyone I have missed
Sue
Bun - glad you're feeling better. Can someone help durign the day with Catherine so you have a bit of sleep. I know how hard it is without sleep, it really does get you depressed and you start to think of all sorts of things
Is she exclusively BF or will she take a bottle so someone can feed her for you tto have a rest.?
LOL thanks sue, i think he's going to be a boob man too. LOL.
Baywatch  i have a lot more jiggly bits than Pam Anderson!
Ash - been a long time since i was under 25 ;)
poopy's test results all came out negative! yaay!!! nothing wrong with his urine/bladder.
Paed said dont worry too much abt the pink, it wil be ok.
Mum was goign to give poopy the bottle today and she had him al ready on her lap. i took the bottle to her and poopy looked at it. I took away to wipe it cos it was wet outside. As soon as i walked away, he started to cry! he recognises his bottle! and when mum put his towel/bib on him, he started sucking motions before the bottle got to him.
It was so funny, it's so nice that he's starting recognise things.
Tooo cute Prama!
Are yuo still comp feeding? Does he do the same thing at the breast?
Alex flails around helplessly the second i get my top half off or he hears the click on my bra!
Bun - its amazing how much better you feel with a little bit more sleep isn't it. I'm really glad that there seems to be a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel and things are better with Catherine.
Sue - I just LOVE big cuddles with DS. He is such a snuggly and cuddly little one. And I especially love the squeals and giggles of delight when we are playing.
Prama / Ash - DS is the same when he seems me unhook my bra and get him into position. Gets SO excited.
Absolutely No rolling going on here !!!
Took DS to get weighed and measured today.
8.54kg and 69cm
Almost doubled his birth weight (which would be 8.68kg)
Solids soon - i'm getting pretty excited about it. However DS is such a chucker I will be covered in pumpkin coloured vomit instead of just plain old white vomit !!!
Happy 5 months to all the bubs!!!!
Not much to report here. The only thing that has changed is that we have stopped wrapping DD for sleeps. She is still in her sleeping bag but just goes into bed under the covers. She looks so beuatiful asleep with her arms above her head.
Have a good day everyone
Sue
lol. poopy gapes like a fish out of water at the boob!
yup! happy 5mths!!!!
sue - do you stop sterilising bottles after 6mths?
I'm getting excited about starting solids too, it seems like something new and exciting at the moment but I know it will just be more effort for me
No rolling here, just lots of jibberish, lots of in love with Raggs the dog, lots of laughing and smiles. Had two good days the last two which im thankful for as my boobs needed a rest hahah.
Everyone's bubs are looking gorgeous!!
Sue - DS does that when sleeping too, hands above the head soooo cute!
AFM - PND getting better, slowly starting to get back into the swing of things. I still have days where I completely resent Anthony and Alexander and that's hard, but now I have days where Alex smiling make me smile too... and that had been totally taken away, so there is imporvement.
A quick one
Ash -- great to hear you are feeling a bit better. DD is 'talking' heaps as well its so cute.
Prama -- I have always sterilised bottles until they are 12months old and then they go onto dairy. I also have always given my lot cooled boiled water to drink until they are 12months also!!
BBL
Sue
ash - glad your feeling better. i know some days i feel down too. and i feel almost nothing towards bub, but it doesnt last long.
sue - thanks!
sorry quick one too.
Hi guys.
Ash - I glad you are feeling better. I understand those days, I have them too!! You are doing a great job hun.
Jacki - I am looking forward to starting solids too! I have given DD rice cereal a few times to see if it helps with her sleeping, but stopped because it didn't seem to be doing any good. She was happy to take whatever I gave her though! I will also be covered in multi-coloured spew when we start; DD never stops throwing up all over me!!
prama - I am glad to hear that the test results came back clear; you must be so relieved! Thankfully DD will take a bottle so someone can give me a break, but it is a while since anyone has done it! I think she is at an age where most people assume she sleeps ok, but she doesn't yet!
DD's sleeping has gotten bad again, so I am taking her to a chiro to see if maybe it is a back problem. She wants to sleep but just screams every time I put her down and I am running out of ideas! The chiro reckons he knows what the problem is and that he will be able to fix it. We will wait and see! I also took her back to the dr to make sure there isn't anything else wrong. He told me that the dr who prescribed her reflux meds gave her a really mild one which probably isn't doing anything. I had decided that she probably didn't have reflux since the meds didn't seem to help it, so I took her off it. Now it turns out that may be the problem but she needs something stronger! He gave me a referral to a paed, but hey can't fit me in for three weeks! Sigh... We have been putting her down on her tummy lately and it has made the world of difference. I know we are not supposed to, but it is the only way she will sleep! Up until now she has been sleeping on us on her tummy, so it is no different from putting her down in bed on her tummy and she is so much happier that way. Now I am just constantly worried about SIDS though! We just can't win!
Hi everyone!!
Bun- that sucks that you cant get into the chiro for three weeks...you'd think being a bub they would sneak you in somewhere!
Ash- Awesome to hear that your PND is getting better!! Keep smiling!!
Jacki - Nice weight!!! How you going with the weather down there?
Prama - what a relief that Lakshmans results came back negative!! Noah recognises his bottle too, he lunges for it..lol...then grabs it and HAS to hold it with me...
We have started Noah on solids, just the little 4 month jars and baby cereal, he wolfs it down. We were having dramas last week with him being very unsettled , so we narrowed it down to maybe his bottle isnt satisfying/filling him up, so gave the solids ago and he has been a totally different little man!!
I hope you are all doing well!!
hi girls
a quick one.
poopy now has a viral infection, he's had a runny nose ad cough for the last couple of days.
poor baby, it's beraking my heart to see him sick.
paed has given him some antihistamine. she said there's a bug going around and it will take abt a week to clear up.
will do personals later
xoxoxo
Awww thats no good Prama! :( I hope that he start to feel better soon...poor thing...
Big Hugs to you both!!
hi girls,
quick one from me.
Ash - great to hear you're getting better
Prama - it's tough when they're ill. Both DDs have been ill this last week and i was also so ill i had to get a nanny to help as I couldn't get out of bed! It was tough as i'm never ill. And there's no such thing as a sick day now you're a mum! Almost recovered now though.
bun - you reminded me that we saw a chiro with DD1 for a year and they were fantastic. Definitely worth a try.
My DH has gone to the USA today for 2 weeks with work so i'm alone with a toddler & a baby with no one to help at the weekends! Wish me luck!
Hi Girls,
Roya -- Good Luck. You will be fine ( tired but fine ). You will probably find you will just get into your own little routine and then he will be home.
Prama -- poor Lakshman. Hope he is better very soon.
Bun -- You poor thing. Hopefully the chiro will work. I also hope that the reflux meds are working. Don't stress too much about the tummy sleeping, she can roll and before long she will be wombat sleeping anyway. Big hugs to you, you are doing a great job. Can you ring the paediatrician and try and get in any earlier -- maybe go on standby for any cancellations or something??
Minky -- its so much fun when they start to eat! You won't believe how much they will put away before long lol
Hi to everyone else
Well my 3 angels are all ASLEEP AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!:hooray::hooray::hooray:
DS1 had Kinder yest and today very tired and he turns 5 tomorrow so I put him to bed. Then DS2 started getting grumpy so he went off to bed and then DD went to sleep. Its only the 2nd time since DD was born that they have all had a day sleep together. Its so quiet.
I can't believe he turns 5 tomorrow we are having a small party with his cousins tonight and then a Mc D's party tomorrow afternoon for 15 kids!!!!! SOOOOOO MUCH better than having it at home now that they are bigger.
Must go have to finish the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Cake (yes the requests get more extravagant as they get older too )
Have a good day everyone
Sue:dance::dance:
sue - thanks! ive caught the cold too :(
wow, 3 children asleep at teh same time! gosh it will be hard if one is asleep and others arent, and getting to not wake teh other up.
yumm. have some cake for me.. does the cake of gross stuff like the movie?? snakes, and monkey brains etc. haha
roya - you poor thing, kids sick and dh away! im lucky enough that we're sick and my mum can look after poopy while i go have a rest so i can get better soon. so true, no such thing as a sick day when you're a mum
thanks minky ! xoxox
Ok, firstly I want to apologise to you lovely ladies. I feel horrible as every time I read I don't post and when I do post it's always very selfish and me me me. So I just want to say I'm sorry, I have been following all your stories I'm just not myself at the moment and I hope to be posting normal as soon as possible.
Bun - so sorry to hea you're having so much trouble with Catherine's sleeping. I agree with Sure though, once she can roll there'll be no stopping her anyway! You can get monitors to put under the mattress for tummy sleepers if it is somethign that worries you. I've been a tummy sleeper all my life so it will be interesting to see how DS is.
Minky - love the av sweetie ;) And the ticker of Noah is gorgeous!!! Woohooo on starting solids - it's good to hear Noah is enjoying them! How is your DD, still the doting big sister?
Prama - I'm sorry to hear about sick Lakshman - Alex woke up miserable this morning because of his blocked and snuffly nose and I felt so helpless so I feel for you sweetie, it must be hard. How is KL going? Sorry to hear you caught a cold too.
Roya - hope the single mum for two weeks isn't too hard on you, I can imagine it'd be difficult with a baby and a toddler. How is Sarina, still a cuddly big sister?
Sue - OMG five you must be so excited!! And scared I guess. Wow and school next year! How exciting for you and your little man, albeit heartbreaking and nerve wracking at the same time. Can't believe you're making an Indie cake, now that's commitment :D 3 sleeping at once, now that is pretty cool!!!
Okay, that's as far as the page goes back for now so I'm sorry to those who I have missed I hope you are all doing well!!
AFM: Solids - DS has no interest whatsoever, so we're just going to wait it out and go baby led.
Breastfeeding - Still going, no intention of stopping anytime soon.
We've had a bit of a rough patch but I was told that it just happens at four months, so there was about four weeks of constant feeding forty minute naps and broken night sleeps. We seem pretty back to normal now, thank goodness!
It's amazing to see him growing up and all the different things he can do now. He doesn't take much interest in toys on the floor, but he loves his bouncer which has flashing light keyboard thing and a seesaw and rolling ball and over the last few days he has sat there so intently learning what to do with it. So amazing to watch.
He's going to be a little runner I tell ya ;) He steps in his jolly jumper rather than bouncing, toooo cute and he loves it!! No rolling yet, he seems to do a bit of caterpillar crawling and lots of 360's when tummy time and he chats and laughs so so much. He is in love with Raggs the dog - everytime I sing the wag-n-wiggle song he laughs and kicks around. It's gorgeous.
Now that the PND is under control I am slowly trying to wean him off the dummy again - I became so dependant on it when I couldn't cope that now I am trying to just entertain him or find him something new to do. He'll still have it for night sleeps and probably naps but I need to stop giving it during the day.
We;re not wrapping anymore, we have a Bubbaroo sleeping bag and it his one of his sleep cues, which i think it is fantastic. We only use it at night, and in the daytime he just goes straight into the cot. We cosleep occasionally when he wakes early and I love being able to snuggle with him.
Okay that's enough of a ramble from me I think I've covered everything and MORE lol, so I'll leave you gals to it. Promise I'll try and pop in more.
*mwah*
ash - dont worry about doing personals, it's hard when there's so little time!!
glad you're feeling better.
poopy still thinks wrapping is a game. we only wrap him at night. when we wrap him we roll him fast onto the side to get the wrap udner him and he laughs cos he thinks it's funny.
i better go, he's awake.
p.s. what does AFM mean?
Hi Ladies,
I have been so slack at replying even though I have been reading this thread constantly. I will try my best at personals....
Bun- I really hope the chiro and the paed can help you. You both deserve a break. You are doing a fantastic job. Catherine is beautiful.
Prama- I hope you are on the mend. Nothing great about being in a tropical climate and being sick! Poopy sounds like he is behaving for his grandmother.
Minky- That pic of Noah is gorgeous. We too have started solids. It is fun!
Sue- Wow a house of quietness! The Indiana Jones cake sounds great. You must take a pic of it.
Ash- I am glad you are getting on top of your PND. And it sounds like Alexander is back to behaving for his mummy. Thats great! Well done on such a good job with him.
Roya- I agree sometimes DH's can get in the way! Just the girls for a couple of weeks. Lets hope your girls are good while daddy is away!
Sorry if I have missed anyone.
DD rolled from tummy to back last Saturday. We wern't even watching. So we put her back on her tummy and she rolled again. She has only done it a few times again. Sometimes when I put her on her tummy she likes it, and sometimes she hates it.
As mentioned above, we have started solids. I have been hoping to hold off as long as possible but she was starting to reach for our food and was so intently watching us eat. We have been on the rafferties rice cereal. She loves it. Just this evening we tried pumpkin as well and she liked that too. She seems to eat a lot of it too.
With her sleeping, she was going from 830-6 consistantly but the last week we have frequent waking periods and sometimes having a feed at 12 or 1 .
Well I have written a big enough novel..... Happy weekend to all.
Prama AFM is 'as for me' sorry!
Jen I've seen Amber's pics on facebook and gee she is gorgeous!!!
Hi Guys,
Prama -- the Indiana Jones Cake is chocolate cake for the base, jam rolls to make the temple, icing, and the jelly snakes and jelly beans for treasure. Have to put it all together will take a photo later!!
Sue
