Thanks Ash! Alexander is a handsome little fella himself! I saw the pics of your drunken night too. Looks like you had a lot of fun.

Bun - I'm not looking forward to the technicolour spews !! I don't think you should worry about DD sleeping on her tummy but if it is really worrying you you can always get a breathing monitor to go under her mattress for piece of mind.
Minky - Bit stormy down here in Perth. But we have had such beautiful weather lately. Bet the weather up in Hedland is gorgeous this time of year ! Being at work I never realised just how nice winter is over in Perth. I used to get up v.early and stand at a freezing bus stop to go to work and by the time I was coming home it was already dark and freezing again. But being home and not venturing out until mid morning at the earliest makes you realise how nice it is and makes me love even more being a SAHM.
Prama - sorry to hear poor little Lakshman is poorly.
Roya - good luck coping without DH for 2 weeks. Sometimes I think DH makes more work for me when he is around !!
Sue - hope you made the most of the miracle of 3 children sleeping at once !! Sound's like a great cake. I am HOPELESS in the kitchen but guess I had better brush up on some baking skills soon. Won't be long before I will have to make the birthday cakes !! (There is always the bakery!!)
Ash - we had the same with DS from 4 - 5 weeks. Quite unsettled, waking a lot at night, grizzly, needing lots of attention. But over the last couple of weeks he has been an angel. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that the difficult period will pass (eventually). I guess the next "spurt" is around 6 months and will bring with it a new load of 'interesting' behaviours. I use a dummy with DS at night and for every day sleep. He sleeps MUCH better during the day with it so am very reluctant to get him to give it up. I try and keep it strictly for sleeping only and don't want to fall into the trap of using it for other reasons.
Jen - sounds like Amber is doing great. No rolling or signs of crawling going on here !! I think I have one placid, content and lazy bub !
Tried DS on rice cereal early in the week. Had it pretty runny and he seemed to take it OK. Don't suppose he really ate much of it though. DH tried to give him some yesterday but it was a little bit thicker and wasn't so successful. Gagging etc ! So not too sure if too thick, not really for solids, or just didn't want any. Will try again tomorrow. But I would gag too if someone tried to feed me that !!
Looked in to day care yesterday and put name down on a couple of waitlists. Probably not going back to work until January. I intend to go back 2 days a week with DS in day care one day and DH staying at home another. DS won't take the bottle so I have plenty of time to get him used to a sippy cup before returning to work. Is anyone using day care yet ?
Hi Jacki,
I'm not sure when I will go back to work. The finances wont hold up if I dont go back to work. But with the daycare, the costs involved are huge. I know it is 50% tax deductable but you dont get that back until tax time. I will have to seriously start thinking about it though.
We used the Rafferties cereal. I have tasted it and it isnt too bad at all. I have heard farex is terrible.
Hi all,
Sorry, not many personals again.... Too difficult to get behind the computer overhere! Hope that all the sick bubbies and mothers are recovering well! And so happy for you Ash for seeing some light at the end of the tunnel! Keep up the good work!
Last week Jasper got stung by a wasp on his cheek when we were walking to the shops. He was in the hugabub and all of a sudden he started to squirm and scream. I had a look and there was a wasp on his cheek! Luckily it flew off without doing more damage but DS had a very red cheek for a day! At least we know that he is not allergic to wasps...
We are still enjoying our holiday; trying to catch up with everyone and doing some sightseeing at the same time. All this in between Jasper's naps as he decided he doesn't want to sleep in the pram my mum has overhere... Lucky he does sleep a little bit in the hugabub, so we do get out and about a little. He is all over the place with his naps; last week we had him on a 2 hours awake and than 1.5 to 2 hour sleep pattern during the day which was heaven, but the last couple of days he gets tired and grumpy after just one hour and than sleeps for 45 mins. He also wakes for at least one if not two night feeds again and he is grumpy for a lot of the time... Hopefully he will settle when we get home. Not trying to hard to change anything at the moment. He is trying to stand a lot and sometimes refuses to sit if you want him too; he arches his back and screams; looking forward to the toddler tantrums... We will wait with solids until we are home, but he is definately showing interest and tries to grap our drinks and food.
Sorry girls, that's all for now... Wish everyone a good week!
Hi Everyone,
Esme -- Poor Jasper! I am a big girl and I hate wasps. Hope he is sleeping a bit better for you. Also hope you are enjoying your trip. When do you return home??
Jen / Jacki -- I have returned to work just working a shift on a weekend on a casual basis. Its good because I get paid, have adult contact and a bit of a break from my 3 but I miss them so much when I am at work, but we really need the extra cash!
The party went well, he got some lovely pressies. Most of the Mums just left the kids with me and then came and got them at 5.30 when it was finoshed! I was a bit surprised I was flattered that they trusted mebut I wouldn't leave DS1 at a McD's party by himself just yet. Anyway no major dramas which was good.
Prama -- how are you?? Haven't heard from you in a while hope you are just too busy to post!
Bun -- how are you. How is your DD sleeping?? Have you seen the paed yet or the chiro? I hope there has been a bit of improvement
DD is watching intently while we eat and is a bit constipated so i think i might give her a bit of pureed fruit soon. The fun begins. It is another thing to do but they do pull the most awesome faces when they try new things he he
Hope everyone is well
Sue
hi sue! glad teh party was a hit! :D you'll hv to post piccies of teh cake
i havent posted as we've been down w a cold. poopy had it first, then i got it and got better but he's still sick and it's over a week.

I hope he gets better very soon.
I would post pictures but I don't know how anymore :cryinglaugh:
Sue
Hang in there Prama...he will get better!!!
Hi Sue - how is the constipation going? Hopefully your gorgsous gal is back to normal soon!!!
Esme - OMG!!!!! I would have been in a right flap seeing a wasp on his cheek! ....We get the occasional cranky pants when he wants to drink his bottle from an upright posy appposed to lying down in the crook of my arms..frudtrates me to no end but what can you do??..
Oh better go...DH is home
Hi Everyone,
A bit relieved today thought i was pregnant (YES I KNOW) but I am definately not. Was starting to really think I was -- I feel a bit sad as I know I won't be pregnant again but we really can't afford to have another bubba.
Prama -- hope Lakshman is getting better.
Minky -- tried a small amount of pureed apple last night with DD will see how her nappies are today.
Can anyone tell me how to post a picture????
Sue
sue - go https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums/gallery/index.php

it's a bit scary thinking you're pg...and a bit sad when you're not... sorry hun.
i enjoyed being pg, im looking forward to #2 in a couple of years but i know pg will be harder with a toddler running around.
thanks for all your kind thots. hopefully he will get better soon.
he does get cranky now when i try to put him to sleep in my arms. he doesnt want to lie down and wants to get up. so have to keep seated till he's tired then cradle him. thats how he'll fall asleep now during the day.
esme - that's so scary. i would have screamed and cried. xoxoxox

Goodness me esme, i would have been totally freaked out! Glad Jasper is okay though.
Sue i thought i posted yesterday with a link to the gallery, but it must have eaten my post, or i must have closed the window before it posted. Anyhow - looking forward to seeing a picture, sounds like you did a great job and have a fab time. I guess it's good that you're not pregnant but I can understand still wanting more despite not having them.
Speaking of pregnancy I must be the only insane one in this group as we're halfheartedly TTC. We're not charting or anything, just if it happens it happens. I'm about 5DPO at the moment I think and I'd really like to be this month because we'd announce it on my birthday and I'd be about 11 weeks by then. Anyway sorry for the rambles.
Prama, Minky - love, love, LOVE your ticker pics. So very cute!!
Thanks Prama and Ash, I have posted the cake photo and a few others!!!
Ash -- insane??? noooooooo you will just be very very busy!!!! Good luck. My DH liked it when we were trying to get pregnant b/c we DTD a lot!! he he
Sue
yummo!!! love the cake!! it's fantastic! wow!
love the little indy and rolling ball!
Sue - Oh wow...so many mixed feelings for you re: being pregnant! I would have been the same!! How did the pureed apple go? Tried anything more since then?
Ash - Goodluck with the TTC...I couldnt have another one so close..lol...your braver then me!!
Everything is going good here, Noah is having three meals a day plus his bottles, his favourite so far is pumpkin! I love how messy he gets and his big gummy smiles!!
Has anyone tried bubs with a rusk?
Hi Everyone,
Minky -- DD is just having the pureed apple for now, she is not really interested will have one or two mouthfuls and then spit the rest out. I am not too fussed as it is helping the poo situation!! I know she will get interested when she is ready.
I think from memory I tried them on rusks at around 6 months -- very messy sloppy gooey he he.
Prama -- how is Lakshman is he over his cold??
Roya -- how are you going? When does DH get home?
Bun -- how is it all going with you. Hope you are OK
Hi to Jacki, Jen, Esme, Ash, Danda and everyone else!
I worked last night from 10pm until 5-30am as a big favour for my boss they were very short staffed, I had two hours sleep when I got home and then my wonderful mum came up so I had some more sleep. I don't think I will be doing it again in a hurry though I can't believe I used to work 7 nights in a row YUK.
Have a good day everyone
Sue
sue thanks so much, Lakshman is better, still having a blocked nose but lots better and his cough is almost gone.
oh gosh, thanks a long night shift. hope you got some really good deep sleep. i find that even when steve or mum now im here, is looking after poopy i can never have a good deep sleep. im still wakign up at every sound he makes.
we teach poopy to call me amma which is tamil for mother and steve hasnt decided what he wants to be called, dada/daddy/appa(tamil for father) so we jokingly call him appa till he decides. yesterday steve spoke to poopy on the fone, as usual he ahs a big smile then tried to eat the phone. i hung up and then picked poopy up and he said 'appa!' i repeated and he gave me a huge gummy smile!
we also fed him his first meal yesterday, rice/lentils and dot of butter. he looked funy when he tasted it but he ate up 2 tiny servings of a teaspoon.
sorry it's a me post will write more later!
Ash - go girl ! Good luck with TTC. I don't know how I would cope with 2 (no matter what the age gap!!!).
Minky - I haven't tried rusks at this stage. DS still has troubles finding his mouth with this toys etc most of the time - he would probably just poke his eye out with a rusk. We are almost at 2 meals a day. Veges in the morning and rice cereal in the afternoon. DS loves sweet potato. Haven't started on any fruit yet.
Sue - working a night shift would kill me I think. It would definitely take me back to the early days when DS was a newborn and up all night feeding.
Prama - good luck with the solids.
Hi to everyone else.
Not much happening here. DS is finally showing VERY SMALL signs that he might roll soon (I won't hold my breath). He is also starting to lift his bum off the ground when on his back - very cute. He is being such a smiley giggle boy this morning and being so gorgeous. I just can't stop kissing him!
Off to mothers group lunch at one of the girls' homes today.
jacki - im sure he will roll very soon, once they start it's very quick. poopy started and did once a week for abt 3 weeks then it got more and more often
we gave poopy some carrot/potato with a little formula, he ate it w a funny face, then threw it all up w some phelgm. poor baby.
Thanks for the good luck wishes. Have tested recently and had a faint pos and then a neg the next day, not sure what the go is. No big deal, we shall just wiat and see.
Jacki Alex isn't rlling yet either, he'll dig his toes into the ground and lift his bum and that's its/ Oh, he might roll off us, but nothing spectacular. I know he'll do things in his own time, I'm just impatient!
Sorry for the quick post, bbs.
Wow Prama!!!! Lakshman looks so different!!!!!
Gorgeous lil man!!
hehe, thanks minky.
he's also starting to roll in his cot. i heard him grizzling yesterday early mornig so i let him be, and then after a long while he was grizllling again so i thot i'l get up and feed him. usually when he grizzles, i get up and ahve a look, but yest i did. when i did, i almost died. he had rolled over onto his tummy and was still asleep grizzling. i felt so horrid for not looking earlier.
i didnt sleep all night cos i was worried he'd do the same last nite. i did roll over about 6am, i kept looking each time he made a noise. i still wrap him and put a sheet over him. but he manages to get his hands free. i think i will start wrapping him with his hands outside so if he rolls over he can lift his head. it was so scary.
anyone having his problem. minky you mentioned before noah does that now.
Hi Prama! it sure is scary though when they are in their cot and rolling...I used to check on Noah every 10 minutes lol..and if he had rolled onto his belly, I would flip him back over.....but of course that would wake him up...lol... now if he does it....he does it...not much I can really do about it...I find he sleeps longer on his belly. I think it took about 2 weeks before I calmed down about it and stopped checking him as often etc... We stopped wrapping him at about 8 weeks I think it was, if not earlier, its too hot up here to be wrapped, he does sleep in a grobag though as he was forever kicking his sheet/blanket off...
Hi Ash! I hope that you get the result that you want hun! :)
Hi Jacki! OOoh I love it when they are smiley and giggly!!! Your DS will be rolling in no time!!!
Hi Sue! Wow, that would have been a tough shift to do!! What is it that you do?
All is well here, was watching Noah today on his mat and he moves himself around, just by pushing and pulling on the mat, he started to even get up on his knees...but he has only done that twice, so hopefully no crawling just yet!!
Better go!!
Hope you are all well!!
Hi Everyone,
I agree Prama -- Lakshman has changed so much!! Gorgeous bubba
Minky -- I am an Emergency Nurse and have worked in Emergency for 12years! I feel old:)
My hospital is having a major upgrade and we are getting a brand new emergency department and we get to move in next week!! Very exciting. I am only working the odd shift to help them out we are a bit short staffed and the money is very nice!
No rolling in the cot yet, they think they are very clever when they do though lol.
We went to a first birthday party today, lots of fun lots of kids etc. Our bubs will be having their first birthdays before we know it. I can't believe we are nearly 6 months!!!
Enjoy the weekend
Sue
Hi guys.
Well, DD and I have just returned from Melbourne and we had a fantastic time! She was soooo good, barely even noticed the take-off and landing on the plane, I just gave her some water and she either drank or played with the bottle. She even fell asleep half way through the descent on the way home! We did lots of shopping and she was good as gold. Nights are still not great, but much better than they were. We managed to see the paediatrician before we left and he put her on some meds and food thickener and it has done wonders. She is a much happier girl now. The paed also said it is fine for her to sleep on her tummy so she only sleeps that way now and sleeps much much better. The most exciting thing is that on our trip she finally learnt how to roll from her tummy to her back! It has taken aaaages, she learnt to roll from her back to her tummy in May, so she took her time to learn how to get back! It's hilarious, she can move so far now and so quickly! Now I will have to start being v careful, the other night she rolled into the kitchen in about 2 seconds while I popped into the bedroom to get something! She has been so lovely and smiley and giggly lately, it really is a gorgeous age.
Prama - wow, Lakshman looks so grown up now! I love that photo. I should update DD's too.
Sueby - gees, it must be hard doing a shift like that with kids, I reckon I would struggle to do it without kids!
minky - DD has just started doing that too, she can get her legs under her but then doesn't know what to do. She has also managed to tuck her toes underneath her and briefly support herself on her hands and feet. I am so not ready for crawling yet!
ash - good luck!
I tried DD with a rusk the other day, but she wasn't interested. She is now having one meal a day and I will soon start her on two. It is so messy!
Hi to everyone else, hope you are doing well :)
ok had to post we are on the second page of the baby buddies thread!!!!!!!! what are you all doing gees slackers :p
Oh my, Alex has just cut a tooth! TODAY!!! How exciting. He pulled my finger into his gob and it scratched me so I had a feel around and you can see that the tooth has just poked through. Nice and sharp too . I'm so excited!!
OOhhh how exciting Ash!! How has Alex been?? Which tooth is it??
Very exciting Ash!! His first toothy peg.!!
congrats little Alex!!
ash - how does bf feel.. does it hurt?
is anyone's bub sleeping habits changed. poopy's now waking in the middle of the night. instead of the 7am, depends 2am, 4am, 5am. im not getting sleep!!!
he's been on solids for a week. somedays he eats it all up, other days he's not so keen.
eeek, he's crying for a feed!
Hi Everyone,
Prama -- yes DD's sleeping habits have changed. She was sleeping all night but now usually wakes once overnight anywhere between 1am and 5am. She is also not sleeping as much during the day usually 40mins in the morning maybe and hour and a half in the middle of the day and then another 40minutes around tea time.
We have started rice cereal in the last few days so we will see if that makes any difference.
No teeth here yet but I don't think they are far away.
bbl
thanks sue!
good to know im not the only one w shocked to the system with his sleeping habits changed.
he didnt used to sleep long during the day but now is, 30 mins or so. but we go back to syd next week so that will be another chance to the routine.. sigh
It's not really a tooth yet, it has only just cut the gum, so nothing is any different; I wasn't sure if it counts as a tooth now or when he has a tooth there. But I was excited anyway! But he has been chewing on everything possible for the last few days. Yesterday I met up with a friend and he kept opening his mouth to eat the other bub, it was funny .
Hi Everyone,
Sophie cut her first tooth yesterday!:cheer:She didn't seem to be overly distressed by it either. Not much else to report.
Hope everyone is well
Sue
Ash just saw your new signature Alex is a gorgeous boy!!!!
Thanks Sue! And look at Sophie she is so adorable!!! Congrats on the tooth!
Wow all of our babies are growing up so quickly....
Ash, Sue, Prama... your new pics are just gorgeous.
Just a quick one here. No teeth here yet. Well done on those who have cut a tooth.
Will be back tomorrow for more details.
yaay sophie!!!! you're a big big girl!
alex is gorgeous!!!! what a cheeky smile
Good morning everyone
Bun- Sounds like you and Catherine had a great time here in melbourne. And well done on her improvement. Are you getting decent sleep now?
Minky- Noah looks all grown up now! I too will freak when Amber decides to sleep on her belly.
Ash- How are you, Big A and little A going? Little A looks like such a happy little man. Well done on the cut tooth. He is growing up so fast.
Prama- When are you back in Australia? its been quite cold so it may be a shock to the system! What happened to Poopy's hair? How are the solids going?
Sue- Sophie is just gorgeous. Well done on the cut tooth with any hassle too!
Hello to everyone else.
Amber has been on solids for a few weeks now. She was reaching for our food and watching us eat so intently. We originally started her on a little bit of rice cereal (I fully recommend Rafferty's Garden) for a week. I then introduced pumpkin. I gradually introduced other vegies and fruit. She is now on 2 meals a day where she has cereal and fruit in the morning and then vegies in the afternoon. She has taken to eating with gusto. I have let to find anything she doesnt eat or like. She even ate the sourest kiwi fruit the other day. I am preferring to do all of my own steaming an mashing of everything so the freezer is full of good food for her.
With the rolling, she can roll both ways but doesnt do it that often. She is a cheeky girl and we are getting a lot of smiles.
She has been sleeping well during the day for the last week which has given me a great break...
ok enough about us.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Happy 6 months tomorrow to Amber and Lysander. Happy 6 months on Thursday to Lakshman. Happy 6 months gone to Luke and Catherine... Happy 6 months to the lovely babies coming up....
Where has the time gone?
