How are you Karlie? Have you been to the drs yet? Good news that the cat scan didn't show anything, but that doesn't get you any closer to knowing what causes it. I had similar (from how you describe it) cramps when severely stressed, hopefully that is all it is!!!

Prama, hope you feel better soon. Hope Poopy won't get the cold. Jasper had a couple of weeks of sleeping through the night and sleeping really well during the day, but the last couple of nights he has been waking/crying in his sleep again as well as fighting his day sleeps. Might try him next week on one day sleep, see how he copes with that.

Some good news anyway; Jasper all of a sudden LOVES his vegies.... I had to hold his hands so he couldn't bat the spoon away and get him to actually try some of it. Now he gets most excited about his dinner. He also loves eating fruit; his grandpa has a plum orchard and some peach trees, so no shortage of fruit at the moment.
I still have the lump in my breast and have to go for monthly ultrasounds and checkups. The dr thinks it is a inflammation, so we have to wait and see if it resolves itself. It doesn't hurt, but it is still nervewrecking to have it there, can't wait till it is gone.
Starting to think about birthday cake ideas, thinking of doing something with cupcakes, but will have to do more research...

my little guy baxter wil be 1 on valentines day - has been walking for 3 weeks - keeping me on my toes a lot of fun at the moment (well, thats a lie - last couple of days he has been a major grizzlepot, but generally he is a pretty happy camper ) i seem to have hit a little flat spot tho - dunno what it is, can't put my finger on it, just feeling a little blah....
    anyway...
cookiemonster - girl you are brave!! i am glad you shared your experience with BB - lot of guts to share a personal story and very much wish that it gets better and better for you and your fam - hope the move went well and you have settled in...

Welcome Kato! Baxter walking already; i hope Jasper waits a little longer... I hear you on the flat spot; I am experiencing the same at the moment. I still enjoy being home with him, but it is starting to get monotonous and I find myself having a general lack of energy and getting quite negative atm, so I am frantically looking for a hobby/course, something that will recharge me once a week... Hope it will pass soon .

Prama - Love your new pic of poopy; he looks so cute! Will have to buy Jasper one of those walking thingies, probably for his birthday. We will be having Jasper's birthday party on the 14th. Just a bbq for family and close friends.

Hi to everyone else! It is so quiet in here; everyone still on hols?

will be thinking of you all having parties on the 14th!!

he likes his walker thing, we put a small bag of rice in it to give him some weight, cos he was going too fast and was getting unstable. lol

yes, it is very quite in here isnt it.. where's everyone. sue is usually quite regular...

Lol at the bag of rice! Will make him work a bit harder too; might tire (sp?) him out a bit too. How is the sleeping going? Still some improvement? The hot muggy weather we have been having here lately doesn't do us any favours. We have a evap airconditioning that doesn't work too well with the humidity... I have put Jasper in a tub with some water in the kitchen yesterday and he absolutely loved it. So might do that again today. Hope it will cool down soon...

hehe.. i can only hope it will tire him enough!
he's been waking up at 3ish again. dunno why, maybe the weather... this morning he woke up at 4ish and we thought we'd change his nappy. it was soaking wet, we changed it and he went back to sleep no problems for another 1.5hrs. i wonder if that's been bothering him??

They've got sooo much enery, haven't they? Hard to keep up with. Good for you that he went back to sleep after the nappy change. It is so hard trying to guess what's bothering them... Most of the time you won't find out anyway. Jasper had a couple of nights waking every hour in the early evening again, but now last night he slept through to wake at 6 instead of 7. Atm he is complaining in his cot, because he doesn't want to do his afternoon nap. Might try him on one nap soon, but I love my two breaks a day...

LOL, hop in the cot with him! He might go to sleep too (or just pull your hair or poke your eyes for that matter....).

lol.. would hop in if the cot would bear my weight. at least i dont have to worry abt him rolling off the bed!
he hasnt got to the poke the eye stage, right now pulling my hair and sticking his finger in ppl's mouth to poke their teeth amuses him!!
he's finally asleep. he was getting too cranky and had to bf him to sleep. i really didnt want to do that, have almost broken the habit, plus it's too late now for him to sleep. but he was just getting too upset. the almost 40 temp isnt helping. i thot both of us jumping into the shower earlier would help him sleep but it didnt.. well, i'll go start getting dinner ready.

Hi girls, DS wont sleep during the day either. Its just too hot for him, and I think his getting more teeth also. I have been finding it so tough the last few days. It seems I can only keep him happy by carrying him around. Carrying your 13kg son around in almost 40 deg heat is exhausting. last night the coolest it got to inside was 21 deg. Hopefully it will cool down today so DS gets more interested in his food again.

Kato, It sound like all our Ds are pritty much out of sorts. How have you been coping with DS walking?

Esme, Im glad you little guy loves vegies now.
Im starting to think my tummy problem might be certain foods I have eaten, or maybe just carring Jakes heavy weight all the time.

Prama, Jake wont sleep during the day either. Do you think it's the heat or his teeth? OMG, Im so much wanting to sleep when Jake doesnt. Im rocking in the chair to make him sleep, but find myself dozing off.

Im soo over the sticking stuff in him mouth stage. Its just a constant worry to keep things out of his reach. Im hoping when he starts walking all that is finished with.

Dam, his awake. I better go.

Prama - lol, Jasper likes to do the same thing; just discovered that people have teeth; probably a bit of tooth envy going on as he doesn't have any yet.

Karlie - The heat makes it so difficult for them to go to sleep, doesn't it? It has been in the high 30's low 40's here for a while which usually isn't much of a problem because the evap airconditioning works well in the dry heat, but we had a couple of storms with a bit of rain so it is very sticky. It was 27 degrees in bubs room all night. We had the fan on him, so he did sleep reasonably well (woke up once but settled easily). We are eating a lot of melon at the moment. Jasper loves his fruit, can't get enough. Half defrosted raspberries go down really well too; nice cool snack. Did you make it to the drs yet? Could well be muscle pain from carrying a 13 kg bub around; my shoulder is permanently sore because of that too.
Hear you on the sticking stuff in their mouths; we have reasonably new carpet that has little balls of fluff coming off; one of his favourite passtimes is picking fluff and eating it; lol, I am waiting for him to start coughing up furballs soon.

    Hi Everyone,
I have been reading but just haven't found time to post.

Welcome back CookieMonster I wondered where you had got too. How did the move go?? Well I hope. I will have to check out Alex's photo's. Glad to hear you a doing better

Kato -- Welcome. My little one turns 1 on the 15th of Feb! Yikes on the walking -- Sophie has just started pulling herself up and can crawl amazingly fast so not really looking forward to the walking.

Karlie -- hope your tummy pain has settled. DD will have one sleep in the morning but has been really difficult to settle in the afternoon. Today she was awake from 11am until 5pm and then only crashed because she had a brief car trip. grrrr
Lucky you on the 12hour sleep I remember when DD used to do that !!!

Esme -- hi. I hear you on the energy thing I am completely zapped at the moment. Sophie is just non stop and loves climbing all over me. The boys have been good but i think they are getting a bit bored so I have been trying to do things with them every day ie) park, pool, play centres etc. So I am doing most of my housework (if you could call it that) at night.

Well as I have said been a bit busy. Sophie is still commando crawling but at ligtning speed and in the last few days has lifted her bum up and is crawling properly. She is also pulling herself up to stand everywhere and is very proud of herself. She can't quite work out how to sit down yet so she grizzles until I rescue her. We went to the pool today for the first time with Sophie, luckily I had a girlfriend come along, 5 kids between us and it was still a challenge. They all had a great time but didn't want to leave so there were tantrums

I am working over the weekend and am finding the juggle a bit more difficult so we shall see how long I can keep up with everything. Four days a fortnight doesn't sound like much but it is making me tired.

    Hello to everyone I missed.

What is everyone doing for Birthday Cakes and Parties????

    Talk soon

Hi guys! Boy have I missed BB. We have only had dial up internet for the last few weeks so it has been hard to catch up. Finally we are back on broadband and are unpacked and settled into our new state! All is going well so far, it is a beautiful place and we like it here. Haven't met many people yet, so poor DD has been stuck hanging around me all the time. It will be good when playgroups etc are running again so she can make some new friends and I can meet some mums too.

Ash - you have had a rough journey sweetie. I had no idea things were so tough. Good on you for making it through the other side. Alex is a very lucky little boy to have you as his mummy. Good luck with your move and I hope it all goes well. I know how hard an interstate move can be!

kato - welcome! Wow, walking already. That's going to keep you on your toes! My DD is crawling at the speed of light, pulling herself up on everything and cruising around furniture but I think it will be a while before she is walking still.

sue - I don't know how you manage with your littlies and work as well, you super woman! I am finding I am busy enough with one little bub and no work! I am thinking of doing the ladybird cake in the womens weekly birthday cakes book. It doesn't look too hard and is a beautiful cake - mum made it for my little sister's first birthday and I still remember it! I saw some really good ideas in a cake book for cup cakes made to look like animals, etc, that looked pretty easy but gorgeous too. I will have to have a practice run soon to make sure I don't stuff it up on the day!

karlie - I hope you are feeling better. Can you think of any food that may be bringing on the pain? I hope that's all it is. And carrying around a bub certainly doesn't help!

prama - I hope the sleep issue gets better soon. DD is sleeping really well during the day at the moment, but nights are a different matter. We have started letting her cry for longer because it is about time she slept through the night! She still has a night feed and I think it is time to let it go so am getting tough on her. Hopefully she will get the message soon and start letting us get a decent nights sleep at last!

esme - woo hoo on the vegies break through! I have discovered that DD likes roasted vegies, or, if not roasted, she will only eat peas and no other vegies. At least it's something! I hope the lump goes away, that must be always at the back of your mind. I think I would also be in a bit of a flat spot if it weren't for the move - after a year off work looking after a bub it does start to get a little monotonous. Plus it is getting harder to entertain DD here on my own. I have been pretty busy unpacking and settling in/finding my way around here and getting everything connected etc, then we are going to Melb for a couple of days and then have my parents staying the week after next and then 2 weeks after that we are back to Perth for 2 weeks for a couple of weddings. I think after all that I will find myself at a bit of a loss and may start looking for some PT work then. I'm not sure if I will find any or if I will be able to successfully get DD into daycare but I will try! I think by then I will be ready to start using my brain a bit more. I hope you can find something to keep things interesting, a course or something sounds like a good idea. I think some more 'you' time is probably what you need.

esme & prama - after thinking DD would never get any teeth, she has now cut 5 in the last 6 weeks!

    Hi to everyone else,

    Bun xx
