jasper's so cute! he's so smart! i did try sign language ages ago but poopy didnt seem to take to it. i should try it again. american sign language is different from us. they use just one hand. you can google the australian one - auslan and they have a video that shows different signs.

poopy's still sick, poor darling, it's been a mth. went to his gp yest, no anti-biotics again, of cos he's just had it last week. could be a combo of his needles and day care germs and all. maybe girl germs too. his "girlfriend" zara comforts him by holding his hand and this morning he was a bit whingy cos he was still sleepy and saw his carer getting his breakfast. she reached out and touched his shoulder as if to say it's ok! LOL. so cute!!
his carer also said that she can see his personality traits - independant, dominant and intelligent. he also seems to be the 'ringleader' lol..


anyone trying for #2.. we prob will at the end of the year, early next year. hope to have a bub end of next year...

Thanks Prama - Just looking at the Auslan site, but dial up internet connection is too slow for video's :(. Poor poopy! At least his immune system will be very good by the end of the year. My FIL call DP's niece and nephew 'petri dishes on legs' as they pick up every possible illness at daycare as well! Soooo cute that he has a little friend who looks after him though... Lol on Poopy being the ringleader! Jasper sounds very similar; whenever he plays with kids his age he doesn't hesitate to go over and 'play', but the other bubs see him coming and hide behind their mums :(, not that he is rough, but he just wants to play. Lol, yesterday he had a little play with a bub his age that had a similar approach; so much so that they bumped heads crawling towards each other!

We will be trying for no. 2 around that time too. Aiming for a 2.5 to 3 year age gap. Would be nice if we could go through the whole ttc/pregnancy journey together!

my friend just had a baby girl on the 23rd of feb. her older son just turned 2 on the 22nd of feb! talk about timing!!

Yes BB is back...YAY!!!

Well Z and I are BBF again I don't know what happened last week, just was a nighmare one I'm not hoping to repeat anytime soon. Yes my face is back to normal again, and no more incidents since so thats good.

I think we will try for a bub same time that would be awesome if we all did it around the same time LOL Friends through pregnacy aswell....hey if we can get through toddlers together we might be each others saving graces!! I don't know if anyone read my birth debrief but I'm actually petrified to have another baby. For me I'll be trying for a VBAC things didn't work out for me the first time:crying: and in some ways I'm still struggling so it's going to be a bit of a challenge for me to actually go ahead and try and fall pregnant.

Anyhow we are still toothless well not totally but the molars are still a no show.

I have no kids at my house ATM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOOOO!! My MIL looking after them until Dinner time so I can have a break GOD BLESS HER!!!!!!!!!!

Sonya -- I have PND and am still on my meds also. I have had it post all bubs but have been better this time as I got onto it earl;y. For me overtiredness was the biggest killer and I am so lucky to have 2 lots of parents in town and helping. That said I do still have my Oh my god moments, and want to trade them all in for quiet well behaved children but how boring would that be. You absolutely need some time for you and DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. Having some you time makes you a better Mummy for Z!!!!

Prama -- Y ou are so Fabulous and yes we all are. Can't wait to be a cyber Aunty when you girls TTC #2 :dance: Life is so hectic I certainly would have a mental health day every now and then. Poor poopy, they do seem to pick up everything and constantly have runny noses. Snail trails on clothes are just so becoming he he

Sorry I haven't been on in so long - been staying with the inlaws and things have been very busy, plus it is hard to get online here! I think I am suffering from withdrawal...

Sorry to hear somme of you have been having a hard time with your little rascals. Sonya, I am glad to hear Z is happier now and that DH is giving you some time out. You really need that - I remember having a similar discussion with DH earlier on and now we seem to have a better balance going. Esme, I hope Jasper pops those teeth through soon!

esme & prama - sounds like you guys have some little social butterflies on your hands! DD is the opposite - she sticks by my side if we are out with other kids and screams if she can't see me. I am starting to worry that maybe I need to start leaving her on her own more often to develop more social skillls. I think maybe she is getting too used to having me around all the time.

sue - woo hoo on having a day to yourself! Enjoy. I keep hearing about the twilight books and how addictive they are; I am yet to read one yet though.

Sounds like maybe a few of us will be trying for the next one around the same time. I am thinking of TTC again maybe in Aug? Will see how I feel then. I would ideally like a 2.5 to 3 yr age gap too, if only you could plan things that well. After the m/cs I went through the first time, I will just be happy to have a healthy baby anytime, preferably without going through more losses. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

prama - I hope Poopy gets better soon!

Gotta go, DH is bugging me to hurry up. I will try to get online again in the next few days if I can. BTW, Catherine's party went really well, she had heaps of fun and the cake turned out well. I will put pics on FB when we get home. We are celebrating my 30th this Friday night too!

Jasper did his first steps without holding onto something today!! Ah well, only about four in between the coffee table and me, but still... (proud mummy moment ;)).

Sonya - Get another ob and maybe get an appointment before falling pg with #2 (if possible) so he/she can put your mind at ease. I am not looking forward to giving birth again either, I too had a less than ideal labour because of a panicking midwife who wasn't there for us at all ,followed by a vac assisted delivery. But with #2 we will be a lot more educated and know what we want, so we can stand up for ourselves!

Sue - Great to hear you had a childless day, and that you made the most of it! Yeah, what are those twilight books about; I keep hearing about them too? It is a bit a shock to the system this cooler weather, isn't it?

Bun - Good to hear Catherine's party went well. Enjoy your party; you only turn 30 once!!!

like esme, i know at least w #2, i will know what to expect, well, im sure the experienc wont be exactly the same but at least im a whole more experienced and aware of what's coming, and can stand up for rights..

It is very quiet in here! Where is everybody?

Sonya - I think Zane has sent his bout of 'brattyness' to Jasper... He has been dr. Jekyll/mr. Hyde for the last week or so. One moment he is happily playing or giving me cuddles and kisses and a moment later he is throwing a tantrum and hitting me or throwing his toys around. His nickname is mr. Crankypants atm. Hope it will pass soon. Still no teeth and the teething seems to be not too bad for now, so I just think it is a developmental stage. Lots of 'time out' and no's for this little boy atm. I try to balance it with lots of cuddles when he is good and keep repeating 'this too will pass...'.

Oh poor poopy (and mummy :hug:)... I hope his immune system will catch up with all the daycare germs very soon!

Woohoo!! They installed our poolfence yesterday!!! Now we have a safe area around the house and away from the dam where Jasper can play. It is horribly expensive, but at least I know that my little boy is as safe as possible in the backyard and can play unsupervised when he gets a little older. The dogs are a bit put out as they can't get to the house anymore, but they still have at least half an acre to run around on and they can still swim in the dam, so they will just have to get used to it. The cats love it though, as they can lounge around on the lawn without the mutts chasing them!

we are going to get new baby gates, we have lindam one and smarty pants has figured out how to open it, and is smug pleased w himself!

Oooh, they are so smart, aren't they? We have Dreambaby (bunnings) and Baby Club (Target) gates they require two actions at once; slide button + lifting the gate. Might keep him in for a bit longer? Bub is awake got to go....

i think we need to get one of those. the lindam one has a handle to lift. he's figured out how to push that. it also has a little latch/semi-circle thing that you turn to hold the bottom of the thing. it wont be long before he realises that he needs to do that. so far we've been locking the bottom too and he hasnt figured it out.
we'll get the ones w 2 actions a tthe same time. thanks for the tip xoxox

Hi guys! Well, we are finally back home again and glad to be back. I feel quite at home here now and was looking forward to getting back to our own space etc. It was good to see family but you can only stay with them for so long!

Sounds like some of you have little escape artists on your hands! We bought a gate but have never needed to use it, even though there are stairs in this house. However, DD spent so much time climbing up and down the stairs at my inlaws place (they have 3 levels) that now she has decided it is heaps of fun! I think it may be time for us to get the gate out now...

esme - yay on Jasper taking steps on his own!! DD refuses to even try walking on her own. When she wants to walk, she will grab my hand, pull herself up and just take me with her! She is getting really fast and is quite steady now but just can't do it on her own and won't even try if she doesn't have hold of my hand. And she is so bossy! She knows exactly where she wants to go and will just pull me along until she has had enough. My poor back is having a hard time of it!

prama - I hope Poopy gets better soon, the poor little mite. How is work going? I saw your thread about work and can imagine it must be so hard thinking of all you're missing out on. Like the others said, he knows you're his mum and he loves you, but I know it must be hard knowing that someone else is getting to know him too while you are working. :hug:

A lot of us here seem to have had less than ideal birthing experiences. I hope the next time is better for us all. I was lucky to have had a brilliant OB, but the midwife was absolutely useless. I have my birth story on here somewhere. As we have moved I won't be able to have the same OB so am a little concerned about finding a good one for next time. I would looooove to have the same one as last time, he was fantastic and I feel comfortable with him now, but hopefully I will manage to find a good one here.

sonya - I read your birth debrief on here. What a terrible experience, you poor thing. I definitely think you need to find a different OB for next time; like esme said, it is a good idea to find an OB you are happy with now and then you will be guaranteed that you will be able to see them. I am hoping that next time we will go in with more knowledge than we did the first time, so hopefully it will be a much better experience.

Does anyone's bub have an infatuation with one parent over the other? DD is totally obsessed with her Daddy. To the point where if I pick her up and he is around, she will cry and lean towards him, and then she will cuddle him, whereas I only get cuddles if he is not around. It was really noticeable while we were away and it is so bad that it's embarrassing - other people must think I am such a bad mother if my own child doesn't want anything to do with me! I am hoping it is just a phase and will pass, but it is really starting to get me down :(

Sorry I have been AWOL. Quite slack of me.
I have been reading and might be quite hopeless in catching up.
So I will say a big hello to all mums and bubs and hope the naughty ones turn nice really soon and all of us mums can get some valuable US time. May the teething be a painless exercise....

As for us, our bf journey finished about a week ago. A started biting me everytime we went to feed. So I thought enough was enough and she now gets a sippy cup of milk at lunch time and one before bed. I had been doing well until yesterday when my poor bb's got hard and lumpy. So I now have the cabbage leaves stuffed down the bra.
We went to Tassie on the weekend for a family birthday. It was A's first plane trip and we went reasonably well. She also did well sleeping in a foreign porta cot. She has come back with a cold curtesay of her cousins.
No walking here. She will stand and walk around the furniture or will push her walker around like crazy but thats it.

Ok so thats enough of an us post. Hugs to all that need it and happy toddler rearing!

Bun - Welcome home (on BB too;))! Jasper pushes DP away quite often; mummy's boys/daddy's girls I think, don't take it too personally, must be very difficult for you, doing all the hard yards and then getting pushed away :hug:. It sounds like you have a very determined little girl who knows what she wants; a quality that will help her later on in life!

Jen - Woohoo on bf for over 12 months!!!!! Well done!!! Hope the bb's settle soon. Can't blame you, Jasper still doesn't have any teeth, but the moment he starts to bite me it will be all over too. Can I ask you what your routine in the morning is now you don't bf anymore? Jasper always wakes up ravenous and doesn't like being changed or dressed before having a bf. After that he is happy and plays while I have a shower. We have breakfast about 45 minutes after getting up. Would it be too hard on him to just cut out the bf and keep the normal routine and make him wait for breakfast or would I have to bring breakfast forward? What does everyone else do?

bun - i found that poopy was more excited to see steve when he got home from work when i was still at home. even when i went out for a couple of hrs, to yoga etc. he would be excited to see him but not quite as excited to see steve. now htat i've gone back to work, he seems equally excited but also being sick he wants more cuddles from me.
maybe cos catherine has you more during the day, she knows you're with her and she misses her daddy?
it surely looks like you are very much part of her life as she wants to hold your hand for confidence and guidance. i think she knows you are there for her and wants your love and support as she wants to discover new things. it's telling me she's needing you very much.
dont feel like a bad mother, i know it;s not easy.. i feel that way so often too. we just want to do so much for our little ones and we love for them to love us too..



jj - sorry to hear your bb days are over.. hope you dont get mastitis or anything.. are you expressing still. one of the girls in my mg was reducing the expressing/feeding and it slowed down.
my gp also said go get some anti-biotics for mastitis even tho you dont have it, but your boobs are feeling hard etc. as soon as you start feeling feverish take them. it'll work better than waiting to go see the gp and then getting the ABs.


esme - poopy has a bf as soon as he wakes up. then we get him changed etc. and he has brekkie abt half an hr to an hr later.
he now has his top 4 teeth and one bottom one. he isnt biting but when he clamps down it hurts for a bit but not bad. when he's done, i can tell as he sort of gets a bit harder. i was SSOOO paranoid abt getting bitten but thank god he hasnt done it, yet. but even when he attaches, it's like pin *****s for a bit then it's ok. i reckon them nipples are as tough as leather now!!

as for me - pnd back w a vengence, poopy still sick, he's on his second bout of anti-biotics and has an ear infection. teething's making him unhappy at dc and starting to show his frustration w other kids.
steve and i had a fight yesterday. my birthday's in a week and half and apart from having a second one as a mum, i dont feel happy at all..

Oh Prama, so sorry to hear you are not feeling well :hug:. Would it be a possibility to talk to your boss again? Maybe you will be able to sort something out if you can explain it to him. It sounds like you need some more time at home; don't run yourself of your feet, hun, look after yourself... Maybe you can take a few days off till poopy is over his ear infection and feels a bit better? Just wish we lived a little closer so I could just come over and give you a big :hug:!!

Hi girls, I have been away too. I went to my gradparients for a while.

Im not looking forward to all the cold weather and colds coming our way. They are just soo hard to avoid. At the moment I am covered in eczema, all over my arms legs and tummy. It looks so bad I have to wear 3/4 sleeve tops out shopping coz Im so embarrised. I seem to be just like Prama, just so run off my feet, and feel so ran down because of it.

Prama, I hope Poppys ear gets better asap. Its so hard when DS is sick. What was your address again? I think you need a birthday card from me.

jen, Its deflation time. I recon you will out soon looking for new bras soon. Your boobies will be your own soon.LOL

Bun, I found Tara was more loving to me when she reached 2, and Jake has been demanding me all the time, and tells DH to buzz off. I wish he did like DH more so I could have a break.

Prama honey i'm so sorry to hear your not travelling to well, I went to the Dr and after a good chat she does not think I have PND but I have to go back in a couple of weeks for a re-evaluation, I'm feeling a bit better, but it creeps up on you quickly doesn't it, not a nice place to be....We'll get there, were just taking the scenic route!!

JJ, Congratulations HUN!! WoooHoooo, I'm going backwards, I got down to 1 BF a day and then Z got sick so he was really looking for his morning feed so I started that again and I thought..."but he's sick"...Now I'm stuck on 2 feeds a day again. Massage the lumps out and try hand expressing just a little each time you feel really full. Supply/Demand hopefully those cabbage leaves work a treat...I'm jealous I want my boobies back.

Karlie eczema sucks hey I get it too, I use cetaphil as a cleanser, body wash everything and it's great, really kind to the skin and kinda stop the itching and doesn't dry out the little scabby bits...sounds delightful doesn't it. I'm sure you look beautiful regardless!!

Bun, Z does that to me and to Dh depends on what mood he's in, It is really embarrasing but anyone who has kids would see that and understand, especially your family. I know it's hard but try and relish in this time, that's what I've started doing kinda like "you want your daddy Ok well Mummy is going to read a mag or watch TV or something" Maybe try and use that time for you.....I have found the break to be great and I'm finding myself not so stressed..OK guilty confession..I actually don't mind it now and again....Naughty Mummy!! LOL I just find when Z gets in one of those moods who ever he chooses he is really demanding.

Ok so Z is still ferral, thinking about taking him to the zoo and seeing if they'll trade me a tiger??? Ok Kidding but the thought has crossed my mind LOL.

On a good Z note we have a WALKER!!! Yay and not Yay!! Tantrums have increased 10 fold when we are out because he thinks he should be walking everywhere, but around the house it's great, he just follows me so putting the folding up away or getting the mail is now this big adventure, and actually fun!!

DH missed out on Special Forces selection, He passed all of the tests/medicals etc
the number of applicants was huge so it was a case of first in best dressed, some guys had their application in since the last intake and that was last feb..DH only put his application Feb this year, He is pretty gutted, Maybe next time. So Prama I'm sorry I won't be going to Sydney...Maybe next year.

I went and had retail therapy and my credit card had to have resusitation, DH did too...LOL I however have a very cute suede vest, numerous scarves, Some jeans that fit and a BRAND NEW pair of Peter Alexander PJ's 1/2 price...even better...Naughty but they were half price and I've never owned a pair in my life...I'm so excited I just need it to get colder so I can wear them.

My GP said that "the terrible two's" actually starts nowish, Our bubbies are not bubs anymore and now that they have developed their little personalities and becoming more independent they think they should do whatever they want to do...even if it's dangerous or whatever so a huge YAY for us, And so comes the moods, tantrums, Hitting pushing etc.... It's only down hill from here....Race you's to the bottom. LOL

Sorry to hear your eczema is flaring up again, Karlie. I used to have it as a kid, luckily I've grown out of it. Hope it settles down soon, it is not much fun...

Sonya - Great to hear that it doesn't look like you have PND. Also good you had some 'me' time, and a good one too, by the sounds of it!! Good to spoil yourself a little every now and then.

Maybe we can start a zoo; just put the kids in the enclosures ;)! Jasper has gotten a little better, depending on the day. Sign language has made my life a little easier; he now lets me know when he wants to eat, go to bed or go in the bath. I find he usually throws a tanty/hits if I am too busy or distracted or when he is hungry or tired. Him being able to tell me what he wants helps both of us quite a bit. He gets the cutest smile on his face when I get what he is trying to tell me :)...

OK, that's us, thunderstorm approaching, have to get the clothes of the line...

Esme -- he he on the zoo! I would still pay to come and see the little rascals. Tantrums I am sorry girls are a part of your lives now -- DS1 who is nearly 6 still throws a wobbly every now and then. I dance the sillys out with them if they are getting tired or grumpy I put on some music and we dance. Have been caught a few times by my neighbours dancing around being silly LOL

Sonya -- Yeah for you having a shopping spree!!! I have a kinder shoppong trip in October so I am saving up for that. I wouldn't wait to put your Peter Alexander pjs on I would just WEAR THEM. Very jealous.
Hehe on Z using his walker I wouldn't say its all down hill from here they just get into much more mischief. At least we know where they are and usually what they are doing in a few years they won't want us around at all eeekkkk. ;)

Karlie -- poor you. I hope your eczema settles soon. I think we all need a break. Maybe we should organise a Mummy weekend????

Bun -- yeah on Catherine walking. I am in no hurry for DD to walk, couldn't wait for DS1 to walk but am happy for DD to take her time.

DD has been off her food for the last two weeks, and we had swapped over to cows milk. She had funny white poo and was really grumpy so I have changed her to toddlers milk and she seems to be a little better. My little guts still has 3 drinks of milk a day and sometimes 4. I am hoping she will get back into the eating again soon. Lots of teeth have come through so maybe when her mouth isnt so sore.

JJ -- congrats on your long breastfeeding journey. Now you have your boobies back your DH will want them now he he :rolleyes:

OK have to go and have a shower have been awake since 4.30 Sophie decided she was hyungry so gave her a drink and she went back to sleep, thenDH got up to go to work and the the boys came in at 6am. I am soooo lucky

Hi guys! I have a little walker on my hands! Except she seems to have forgotten that she can walk! The other day she suddenly took off and did 13 steps on her own just like that! Then she did it again a moment later to show her daddy. But since then she has only done a couple of steps here and there and still grabs for my hands when she wants to walk, even though I am barely even supporting her! I think she just needs the reassurance. She is so cute when she walks - she looks like a penguin! I have puts pics up on FB of her first birthday party if anyone wants to have a look.

Jen - congrats on BFing for so long! I would stop too if I was getting bitten all the time. DD has bitten me twice and boy did it hurt! But generally she doesn't do it thank goodness. I hope your bbs start to feel better soon, I hate it when they are all lumpy. Now you can go out and buy new bras! I did that when we were back in Perth as I am only feeding at night and in the morning now and it feels great to have some support again!

DD seems over the daddy obsession now - I think she does it most when things are different, ie - while we were back in Perth, maybe she sees him as security or something? Anyway, now we are back to Mummy love and I am getting cuddles again! The poor little thing has a cold right now though, so she keeps smearing snot all over me. Yuck!

prama - I hope you and Poopy are feeling better. It sounds like you are going through a rough time right now. I think you need to have a weekend spoiling yourself! Can someone look after Poopy for a bit so you and Steve can get out on your own? Sometimes I think we need time to re-connect and it must be so hard to do that with work and a baby. I believe your GP about the terrible 2s tanties - we are getting them around here frequently. I am also kind of ok with DD wanting Daddy right now as it does give me a bit of a break but while we were in Perth and around family/friends, I found it quite embarrassing that she wouldn't come to me. At home it doesn't seem as bad anyway. Who knows what goes through her little head hey?

Sue - good to hear from you! DD has also had a bit of a funny tummy lately since I started her on cows milk. I have now changed to soy and she seems ok, so I will give cows milk another go and see what happens next. How much milk are they supposed to have each day? I have started giving DD a cup of milk a day plus 2 BFs and she would have as much milk as I am willing to give her! I am just not sure how much is too much.

The boys have gone to the airshow and DD isnt awake yet so i thought i would drop in and say hi.

Bun -- the milk recommendations have recently changed -- its now 500mls a day i think it was 800mls a day? So two cups of milk or one cup of milk and yoghurt and cheese. They are just recomendations, DD is getting back to her food now more teeth have popped through but she is still having 3 milk drinks a day and yoghurt. I would rather she had more milk than less iykwim.
Cuddles are so nice -- its funny how they polarise to one particular person but they always come back to Mummy.

Well I have finished all four books in the twilight series now I can get back to normal he he the house looks like a bomb hit it. Yay for me I get to clean :wall::wall:
Looking forward to having a girls day with DD we might even go out for lunch.

Bun - Hurray; Catherine is walking!!! Lol, they do look like little penguins. Jasper did the same; walked one day and then gave it a rest for a day but as of yesterday he is walking quite a bit. He gets really frustrated though when he loses his balance; he starts crying and hitting the ground, I think we've got a perfectionist on our hands. Yay on getting cuddles again; those cuddles are the best (and the wet sloppy kisses)!

Esme- When I finished BF, for the morning feed I started off by giving her some cows milk in a sippy cup and eventually weened her off that.

Hi everyone else.

A had a cold last week. It turned her feral! She wasnt sleeping very well and still isnt. She now has this lovely habit of waking about 10ish and not going back to sleep til after 12. This is after me having to bring her to our bed for a cuddle..... HMMMMMM. I hope that improves.
We had 2 steps here the other day but she is lacking confidence to go any further. I can see the look on her face that she would love to take off but she just needs the confidence to do so.
Oh and one thing which has me nervous.... I was on the mini pill due to being bf. Well that run out and I am no longer bf.... Well we have DTD the deed a couple of times late last week and then I think I O'd on Sat..... Oh dear I must go to the doc for a pill prescription. I too had a hard time of birth with A. 40+ hours labour, a vacuum assisted birth and 3rd degree tearing..... Not ready for number 2 yet.

Ok off to get my girl with the huge tantrums up.

Hi ladies, Thank goodness that rash is almost gone. There is only a small amount you can actually see, so Im happy as a pig in mud. I went to Coles today and picked up a cupcake stand, and cupcake carrier. They are awesome for $15, and Im thinking if I should buy another 2 for a gift.

Sue, its awesome to have the house to yourself. I love it when Tara goes to kinder for 6 hours twice a week. Ahhh, no more chittering questions, like, "why do men have hair under their nose?" Hmmmm.

Esme, Does Jasper bend his knees when trying to push a trolly or something along. Jakes hopeless, his legs never bend at the knees.

Jen, I know what you are saying about falling preggas again. My first labour sounded like yours, but ended in a c section. I use 2 methods with DH, Im just so paranoid. I think DH is getting an op' after Jake hits 2 years old.

esme - jasper's so cute! poopy gets excited and starts to walk really fast, he does 5 steps or so and then falls on his bum, then just takes off crawling really fast. i think he just wants to go go go.
isnt it interesting we can start seeing their personalities.

poopy's happier at day care now. i think he really likes his new carer. he's also started saying a few words, once in a while then he doesnt say them again.
he says teet - teeth, iss - kiss, sze sze - his aunty susan. the other day we drove up to mil's house and he went nanananananan as we drove up hte drive way. lol.

it's only 8pm. feel like going to bed already....

Goodmorning everyone! Ahhh, this is just what I need; a cup of coffee and BB. Hopefully I will finally wake up.

Jen - How is A's sleep going? Hope she is sleeping a bit better for you! Thanks for the advice about weaning off the morning feed. The last week or so I have been getting him up and dressed before having a feed in the loungeroom. He is used to that now and no longer fusses and cries while getting dressed. Was probably more an issue of habit rather than him being very hungry. I don't think he gets much milk anymore; I don't feel a letdown and he does a lot of fast sucks before swallowing, so I think we will be weaning sooner rather than later.

Prama - How are you going all by yourself? Good idea the cooking in advance. We usually eat something like pasta the night before DP leaves so i can just chuck the leftovers in the microwave; so much easier. Yay, Poopy starting to talk; so cute! Jasper still doesn't say mum or dad. Lol, he does say mumumum, but that usually means food. It is all about speed with those boys, isn't it? The faster the better! I hope they get over that before they start driving cars....

Karlie - The cupcake stand and carrier sound like a good buy! I love making cupcakes (or anything sweet for that matter..). So happy that your rash has disappeared; you will be feeling so much better now! Jasper's knees hardly ever bent either; he just waddles along like a penguin. Occasionally he will try to sit down by bending his knees, but that will need a bit more practise.

Just a selfish me post...
I discovered a lump in my breast back in december, which, after a biopsy was declared non cancerous. Had to have monthly monitoring by ultrasound and drs appointment, but it hasn't gotten much smaller in the last three months. So yesterday he said I have to go for another biopsy to make sure it is non cancerous and then I might have to go under the knife to have it removed anyway. I know this has to be done, but I am scared... Scared that this biopsy comes back with a positive for cancer... Scared about having the op (never had an operation) and worried about how bub will cope with all the upheavel (sp?). I know it has to be done, and I am happy to have it done (otherwise I will keep worrying anyway), just scared about possible outcome..

Oh Esme you poor thing. It is positive that the first test came back as benign, sometimes benign lumps can be there for a while and do need removing. Having it removed is the best option just make sure you ask lots of questions so you are really informed. Have a chat to the anaesthetist and let him/her know your concerns. Big big hugs to you, I have never had an operation but see many people prior to having them. Be reassured that you will be well looked after. It is completely normal to be scared, I am sure there will not be too much upheavel it is usually a short procedure to have done.

oh es- im so sorry to hear that you have to go for an op.. do they think i could be a blocked milk duct..
i hope and pray it's nothing more.. dont they say bf reduces the chance of cancer..
can you get a second opinion? have they said when you have to go...

Thanks Sue for your reassuring words. It is more the unknown that scares me rather than the physical side of the op IYKWIM and also how I am going to look after my little boy after the op, but I am sure that will sort itself out when we get there. It will be good to have it taken out before we start trying for #2, so I won't have to worry about it.

Thanks to you too Prama; where would I be without you girls? They think it could be a calcified duct/heamatoma as it is a solid lump that was a little inflamed, but the inflammation is settling down now, but the lump is still there. They won't know for sure until they remove it. The fact that I am breastfeeding works in my favour. I have to have the biopsy in the next couple of weeks, and we will probably plan the op depending on the outcome.
