Great news Jen, always feels great after a scan when you know bubby is doing well hey, no feeling like it really...of course until your holding them. Hope you and Amber are doing well.
Prama I had cookies for lunch yesterday so your pizza for dinner can be excused I'm sure...At least you went to the gym. hehehe I on the other hand went to the couch!! How's poopey?
Bun sweetie are you guys feeling any better? well you in particular?? Yes Zane loves Luger he is a bit rough too, but I'm sure that once theyunderstand a word to an action they will be better. He is just sooo big that I worry he'll knock Zane down but he never does...should give him a smidgen more credit....but only a smidgen LOL.
Esme, how's Jasper today, Zane had croup last week, isn't the barking cough awful. He seems a lot better this week but he no longer has a cold either and it's a bit warmer this week.
The baby whisperer gave me the following so I thought I'd share them with you guys:
They have turned into my mantra and are now situated in pride of place on the fridge...
TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR REDUCING STRESS:
1- Thou shall not be perfect nor even try to be.
2- Thou shall not be all things to all people and spread thyself to thin.
3- Thou shall leave some things undone that ought to be done.
4- Thou shal NOT criticize thyself for decisions made without the benefit of hindsight.
5- Thou shall learn to say NO.
6- Thou shall schedule time for thyself and thy supportive networks.
7- Thou shall switch off and do nothing regularly.
8- Though shall be boring, untidy, inelegant and unattractive sometimes.
9- Thou shall NOT even feel guilty
10- Especially, Thou shall not be thine worst enemy, but thy best friend.
Ok Ladies I'm off to complete No.6... As I have a sleeping toddler...So now that I have checked in with my "supportive network" I'm going to have a shower in peace and possible shave the forest on my legs. I might even wash my hair!!!
yep...i like that list. i might do the same....put it on the fridge for a daily reminder!
We've got a dog too (a cavalier poodle X)...her name is Beanie and Zoe just loves her. She calls her "BeeBee". She pat and cuddles her really nicely.....unfortunately, "BeeBee" is not always so gentle!! In her excitement tonight when Zoe and I got home, she was running around like and idiot and knocked Zoe down the stairs (only two)....head first onto the floor boards!!! Crazy mutt!
Just letting you know I might be out of action for a bit, My Grandma passed away so I need to get down to my parents house in NSW and their internet is a little tempremental (sp).
Hope your all well and sorry for the sh*tty short post.
Well I'm back home now and all is swell again. Zane slept so terribly at mum and dads and Luger was sooo naughty and became quite agressive towards anyone he didn't know going near Zane..Mmmm Not what I expected. But now we are home Zane is sleeping through the night again in his big bed and Luger is back to normal.
I have started looking into daycare for Zane and decided to go with Family daycare, I have found a great carer and think now that the option for me to put him in care is very real, I don't want to anymore. I mean on one hand the free time for myself would be great but I just don't know if I deserve it, I'm not working nor am I intending on going back to work yet and I just feel guilty for being selfish. 2nd to that I don't know if he really needs to go, I know it's just that whole "no-one can look after him aswell and I do...he needs me etc" But maybe he does? I know I sound silly but I can't think rationally about this at the moment and need some help. Do you guys think it's a good time for some seperation time or do you think maybe something like playgroup is better? Oh dear what a mess.....Hahaha Not really I'm turning it into one, I hate it how I do that. I guess what I'm asking is how you all as individuals feel about care and how it affected you and how your little ones are going? I know everyone will be different, I'm just starting to second guess myself.
Sorry for being so selfish....... How is everyone else going???
Prama- i noticed on FB Itty Bitty wasn't well How is he today? You poor things, if it's not one thing it's another for at the moment isn't it. Here for you babe if you need anything. O and how is the house work thing going?
Bun- How you feeling my dear, Has the MS by anychance settled down a bit? Maybe it's a boy, giving you all this curry?? Are you guys going to find out what the bubby is? How is Catherine?
Jen- Our other Mumma to be, how is everything going in your camp? How is Amber? Same for you guys are you going to find out what you are having?
Karlie- Hope you survived the holidays and had a great time. Missed you lately with your quirky posts, come back and entertain us soon.
Sue- Looks like you have been busy with boys and parties, love the photo's, thanks for the farming things, still getting a hang of it all, lol quite funny!! Found anything else fabulous to read that you can think of. Can't wait for the 2nd twilight movie. How is Sophie?
Hi to everyone else, I'm off to make some playdough while is asleep and hang the washing out..wonder how long it will last...luger has been pulling it off grrr.
Esme, Sorry hun I was thinking about jasper when I first started the post and then never wrote anything, Sorry Hun. How is the little man? Anymore teeth yet, Zane now officially has 6 with 2 more on their way, it's taking awhile. Good luck this month with the TTC. We have decided to try around christmas and see what happens. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you hun.
Danda, apologoes also, don't know where my head is? How is Zoe, hope she has been great. How is "beebee" doing? They are so funny with there littlw words zane calls our dog "puppup" Luger is a bit hard just yet.
God I'm a nut job!! One more thing how much milk/calcium are you guys giving the kids and what roughly are they eating these days, getting a little stuck with Zane and any hints would be helpful.
sonya - i think putting him into day care would be a good thing, for you and him. it will let you get to do your own stuff, just your own time and maybe sleep all day and plus it will be good for him to socialise with ohter kids and in a new environment. he'll make new friends and he'll also learn tehre;s a world outside his mummy and daddy.. this is just my opinion
i totally understand that 'no one can look after him as well as i do' i still get that feeling but if you are putting him one day a week, you still have the other days w him. i still find it so hard having him at dc 5 days. iget jealous too. but he enjoys his time at dc and all his friends and he's learning lots. he's picked up lots of good habits and good techniques like feeding himself etc.
yes, poopy has been sick again, he had a sinus infection and now croup... ABs arent working, he was almost back to normal at the end of the course but got sick again, same old runny nose and had fever at 39 over the weekend. we took hm to hossy. going to his gp and ive made an appt to see his paed.
also, ive been feeling really down.. poopy seems to be more attached to steve, i dont mind but just a bit of a shock to my system, and imjust gettign the same feeling 'im not good enough' im probaby not spending as much time as steve does w him now, cos on the weekends im cooking his food, adn sorting all his stuff out, etc. maybe that's why he's becoming more of a daddy's boy.. i dunno//
Hi guys. Gees it has been quiet in here for a while and with the ms I have been laying low and not posting a lot. I am feeling much better now. The ms is still here but not as bad and I finally have some more energy. I had an OB appointment last week and all is going well which is a relief! The little bub was flipping around all over the place! So now we are starting to tell people and it all seems very real! DD was sick over the weekend and we were a little worried about her but she is better now and tearing around all over the place! She has learnt a few new words - she now says 'please' and 'bye'. It's so cute!
sonya - I remember feeling exactly the same way when a place came up in daycare for Catherine. I had wanted a place but then it suddenly didn't seem right! I feel very lazy sometimes having her in daycare a day a week when I don't work but TBH it is the best thing I did! You need some time to yourself, whether it is to catch up on sleep or schedule appointments, run errands etc, all the things that are difficult to do with a bubba around! And I have found day care really good for her. She is very happy there now and I think it has helped her to be a little less clingy and to be used to being around other kids. PLus they all eat together around a table and watching the other kids eat has really helped her eating too. I think the socialisation is very important for them, not to mention that the break is good for us! I say go with it. You will feel funny at first - I remember feeling terrible the first time I dropped her off and the car seat was empty!, but now I know that she is so happy there and it gives me the time I need to recharge and I am always happy to see her again at the end of the day!
Re milk, DD has one or two small bottles of milk each day and then formula before bed. The formula isn't really necessary but I just give it to her to try and fatten her up a bit and she loves it! She still doesn't eat nearly enough and it can be a real struggle to get food into her. She seems full of energy though! It is amazing how they seem to live on air sometimes!
prama - sorry to hear Poopy has been sick. I hope he is on the mend now. Re him preferring Steve, try not to worry, as hard as it is, it will stop soon. They just go through phases. DD adored DH for a while there and seemed to hate me and it made me so upset, but now she is over it and loves us both just as much. I know how awful it is when they go through a stage like this, so for you. I also found that I seemed to spend more time washing and folding her clothes, making her food, cleaning up after her etc, while DH was just the 'fun' parent and it really bugged me. Actually, it is still like that! Bloody DH's just doing all the fun stuff! Hopefully Poopy will get over this stage too. He loves you to bits, you are his mummy afterall, it's just sometimes they don't show it very well.
Hi to everyone else, I hope you are all travelling well xx
oh bun - how exciting to see your little miracle... i cant believe you're 13 weeks already! i'm so looking forward to hearing more abt your pg! oh ms, i had it till 14weeks, it's so yucky. so glad you're almost at the end of it.
oh how cute she's saying please. im trying to get poopy to say pls when he wants something, but he's stuck on 'more' he's like oliver! the other day we were out at a get together and dinner was served later. poopy had already had his fill earlier. but when we get to get our dinner (it was pot luck). he went so loudly, mmm.. mum-mum(food) more! more. mmmm, mum-mum more! more!
thanks hun. i know you're right.. it's a bit hard, when you're the one worrying abt their meals, cleaning, what they;re to wear to day care, if they are too hot/cold, they are playing with the right toys (getting enough stimulation) etc. and it's a bit hurtful when they want daddy more sometimes. i guess even more so that steve picks him up fr day care and has an hr w him before i get home.
I have been very slack and haven't checked in for the last few weeks. I have become a bit addicted to Facebook and Farm Town.
We have been very busy Benjamin turned 6 on the weekend and we had a Star Wars party at home with 12 Kids (I know crazy). It was so much fun and just seeing the kids laughing and having fun was great. Nicholas is taking up alot of my 'free' time as well we have been doing lots of painting and games and his tantrums have settled. Sophie is a walking tornado and loves to 'help' whether it be pulling all the clothes out of her drawer that i have just put away, or cleaning the already clean window with her dirty facewasher, she is still saying "MAAAAAAAAAAAA" but can also say fish, dog, Dad, NanNan, boys and something that sounds like school!!
Glad to hear that the pregnancies are going well, not long until the MS settles down now!!
Sonya -- Stephanie Meyer has another Book called Host but I couldn't get into it and I am still re reading the Twilight books. I think I won't be able to read anything else for a while.
Prama -- I think they all go through fazes of appearing to be more attached to one person than another. Maybe just do something with you and poopy for and hour each weekend and get Steve to put the washing on or cook???? I get upset on the weekends I don't work because Chris seems to be able to just 'play' while I seem to do all the work so now I say OK my turn to play you can do this etc.
Bun -- glad to hear your MS is going away.
Hello to everyone else. I must go to bed have to be up and going early for school and kinder.
Firstly better get the good news of my chest (before I burst..); I got a on Monday!! That makes me 4 weeks and 2 days today. Feeling all the same symptoms as with J, so hoping it will be a sticky one!
Now I can concentrate enough to do personals ,
Sonya - Don't feel bad to put Z in daycare; you need your break as a mum; it is a almighty demanding job and you have no one to take the pressure of you. Please put that mummy guilt aside! As for J; he still has only 6 teeth, but I think there are molars coming up.... Yay on Z sleeping 13 hours for you!
Prama - , hope Poopy will get better soon and gets over his stage. I agree with Sue, get Steve to do some of the chores too, so you get more fun time with him. Hope things will improve soon .
Bun - Woohoo on reaching 13 weeks and feeling better! So very happy for you! How is your new house?
Sue - Good to hear that Nicholas' tantrums have settled. Lol, on Sophie being a walking tornado; have one here too. I love it when he wants to 'help'; makes all the chores take even longer though...
YAAAAAYYY ESME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh im so so happy for you!!!!!! hoorrray!!!!
steve does his bit, like he cooks and does the washing on the weekends. i think it's more me sometimes who wants to do everything. i usually cook poopy's dinner for the next day. i guess i could wait till his asleep till i cook his meal for the next day or for steve to do it. i just prefer to start cooking early so i can rest afterwards..
thanks so much girls.. will talk more. have a meeting to go to
Sonya- We're good thanks. plodding along slowly here. Please dont feel guilty about child care. Amber is now going 2 days a week. I was dreading it for the week before she started. But I now think its good for her. She still has a little cry when we drop her off but the minute we leave she stops. She has a great time playing with the other kids and I think socially its good for her to mingle and not be with mum all of the time. You do need Sonya time my friend.
Prama- How is young poopy today? Just remember you are his mummy and he will NEVER forget that. Mums are special people.
Bun- How are you going my belly buddy? I reckon these 14 weeks have gone quickly. Have you booked in for your scan? I am wondering how our toddlers are going to cope not being the centre of attention when the baby comes. 2 kids is a little scary!
Sue- Your kids sound like they are doing wonderfully. Will there ever be a number 4 for you?
hi Karlie. Hi Danda. Hi Roya.... Who have I missed? Damn this pg brain.
Woohoo Esme, what fantastic news! Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months!
Jen - I agree, the time seems to have gone really quickly for me too. I guess having a toddler around keeps us busy! I am a little worried about how Catherine will cope and how I will cope with a newborn and a toddler! I am only just getting used to being able to sleep through the night at least occasionally! I haven't booked my scan in yet, they seem to book things quite late in the piece here, everything seems much more relaxed here than in Perth! Are you going to find out what you're having? I don't think I will. How are you feeling now? I feel like a whale already, my tummy has totally popped over the last couple of days.
Hi everyone else, BBL. Dh has been away for work for a few days and is just back and in a foul mood so I should go and try to cheer him up.
oh yes I feel like a beached whale too. Its terrible! Nope we will leave this a surprise. Amber was a surprise. Not too many people in our belly buddy group are having a surprise.
Esme- How are you feeling today? I am guessing your EDD to be March sometime? Very exciting
