hello ladies! hope everyone is well. H just had his 8 week check. All good. He's got some dry skin and rash issues but have gp appt tomorrow for vax so will get it looked at then.
Soph, I often have to run off to retrieve Ben from the dog's water bowl
Orange, isn't it great to get out of the house so the little ones can run around and burn off some energy?
Jo, Jared has his shots today too. Didn't calm down until he had some booby juice. Ben was much better - a lot like Caleb. I'm afraid J's going to have his mum's fear of needles!
Runner, the gym doesn't have child minding and I probably wouldn't be able to leave the boys there anyway, I'm far too paranoid! My mum is taking the boys and my sisters' baby while we go. It would be a lot for anybody else to have three kids under two, but my mum is SO good at looking after them all it's crazy!
Us, well, as I mentioned we had Jared's shots an hour ago. He's settled now and might even be asleep, but it was still awful. I really hate the whole thing, but that might be because I hate needles myself. Ben's been a bit of a nightmare today, really sooky and clingy. He had a bit of a fever earlier today which I knocked on the head with some Nurofen so I hope that's the end of that. I'm thinking it might be his 2 year old molars starting to come through.
Have had a shyt of a day with nixon today...........
he woke up at 2am,3am 4am then went back til 730 off n on............then he went down in 5 mins at 9am had an hours sleep then up,has been catnapping on n off all day n sooooooooo overtired, wants the dummy, then wont keep it in,wont feed much, then has a bit of a posset, not to mention our house sounds like the middle of a war zone with construction around us,he so tired wont even sleep in car and that normally knocks him off...he was like this the day after our trip up to the beach so i shouldve expected it today...hes down now with the dummy wedged lets see how long he down for.
he had bit of runny poo so wondering if he a bit off color...hopefully 2nyt after his bath and a bit more food he go down as this is sooooo out of character for him...poor little man
anyway im off,MIL babysitting whilst i go see the builders to start the house
does anyone think maybe start of reflux??? or just out of sorts cos of long trip, same pattern as when we went up..i think i said that already
Jo- dont be suprised i sms or ring u
Bon: Hope Nixon slept well last night and is back to his old self today.
Good luck Henry with your vax!! Be brave!!
AFM: We are going out to a morning tea that the midwives hold each couple of months for the girls on their team. Have been looking forward to it because I really want to thank everyone for getting me through the labour (the part I feared the most) with ease as I really didn't think I could do - you know the history. To top it off I have my last visit with the pychologist this arvo which will just top it all off! I did it!! Better get ready....it starts at 9am and we only just got up he he.
We had a great time in Sydney. Got back yesterday arvo!! Ava did really well on the plane (her first flight!!) and I breastfed on take off and landing both times and she was fine! Cried a little on the flight home but nothing much. Mum came on the trip with us and was a big help.
Going to go pick up our dog from the kennels this morning (we missed her!) and then I'll BBL to catch up on personals if I can..... hope everyone is enjoying the start of the week so far.....
Woohoo!!!!! Ava self-settled herself..... this has only happened a few times. Most of the time I need to hold her and pat her to sleep.
She fed, then we played for 40mins on her mat and then she let me know she'd had enough and was yawning so I picked her up without talking, took her into our bedroom that is quite dark and wrapped her put her down and walked out. She then cried out so I went in to her and patted her on her tummy and rocked the hammock and then walked out when she was calm. Few mins later she called out to me but I waited.... and then heard nothing.... 5mins later walked in and she's asleep!!!! Yeah. That's what I'm talking about..... wish that could happen every time!!! I think most the time I miss her tired cue's and she gets overtired....
Disgirl - good on you for going to the gym! Who looks' after the boys? Your DH? Or is there a creche? MelA - the HAB is great huh!!! Yeah the house gets a bit dull after a while.... I go out 3 days a week and try to stay home 2 days a week (like today and tomorrow i stay home) even if it's just to the shops to get a few things makes me feel good. Soph - yeah i've noticed A has been feeding so much more proficiently (is that the word?) now and faster. She seems full after just 20mins sometimes and even has a little vomit!!! I used to sit for up to one hour sometimes a bit more!!
Jo & Bon - I got the "secrets of the baby whisperer" book off Ebay. Reading it now.... it seems really good!!!!! We are now looking for more routine.
hi gang
last night went to sleep after a bit of a cry, today brings a different day,
he has reflux, hence tge sleeping/feeding/grizzling...hes been spitting up his feeds and today smelled acidy n lumpy, even the dummy smelled acidly and he slightly coughing
we going back to doc again,3 times this week, til then i got some reflux formula n jo has
put me onto infant gaviscon so be going tonight to get some..
he slept this arvo for 3 hours after i had to cuddle him to sleep then put him in my bed upright on pillows,we all had good sleep...
see how tonight goes
bon
Bon....Dash has a few day sleeps in his bouncer so he is proped up, he sleeps quite comfortably in there. I put a pillow or two behind it to stop it from bouncing (not good for reflux bubs).
Nix went down early, last bottle didnt vomit anything n had full feed, bottle before that only 5oml,he slept 3 hours from 2-5pm,had to cuddle then put him down, then woke went bak to sleep at 630pm,slept til 830pm,had to cuddle to sleep as he real bad after that bottle, then at 930pm had full bottle went straight in bassinette asleep in 5 mins,no dummy no 45 min catnapping,he must be buggered as he didnt sleep well during day...its midnight and i need to go sleep.im wide awake as i had nana-nap today late arvo,we are going to docs in morning to confirm it reflux or not..
i was a bit out of sorts myself today, had a few cries, tough day today, tomorrows a new day,,having my friend over she gonna babysit whilst i go do a job n go shopping,oh the things we take for granted...hehe
MummyDeb - welcome to our group - remember we were ttc'ing together!!??
Bon - I've given Ava Karicare AR formula before and yeah it's so thick!!!! took her ages to finish a bottle of it. We just use Karicare HA now. (top ups)
Well I'm getting another LC to come and see us hopefully this week as Ava feeds from my breast and sucks loudly like she does when shes taking a bottle. I think she's formed some habit and now it's happening when she feeds off me!! She's a loud drinker
Anyone else find their baby takes from bottle and breast also but has changed the way they suck at the breast??? I think thats what it is.
Had a very unsettled Ava last night.... up every 1-2hrs.... 1am, 2:30am, 3am, 430am, 5am
Ren - I've given Ella EBM twice and she is a loud drinker regardless if its on the breast or the bottle! - She likes to try and have 'conversations' while feeding at the same time so i think that makes it even louder!
Ren: Yes I remember TTC!! I was so happy when I heard u were pregnant and so happy for u and your DH on Avas birth!
Harley is fully formula fed and isn't much of a loud sucker, but can be a little piggy!! I have a happy chucker and constantly cleaning up baby spew lol!
He has been getting into a regular sleeping pattern for the past few weeks, goes sort of like this
Feeds between 5 and 5.30pm and down by 6pm at night. Then has a dreamfeed around 11pm and sleeps thru till between 5.30 and 6am...the past few days its been 5.40am he is up! Then awake for a couple of hours and down for about an hour around 8am. Pretty happy with how things are going! Can't believe he is 3months already!! Time has just flown by!
runnermum: Thanks for the welcome I thought that Harley might of had reflux at first but I think he is just a happy chucker, always smiles after he spews, reflux is when they get the pains with it isn't it? Wow can't believe u do marathons and be a mum, u are doing so well!! Thats no good ur easter wasn't as good.
gill: Thanks for the welcome as well Must say your lil Ella is just beautiful
Good morning everyone! I've given up on reading posts from the last week so will start fresh.
Ren: Hope you get a little nap today to get back on track.
Runnerr: Congrats on the weightloss! My weightloss journey begins this week....have 20kg to loose. I only just got clearance but my iron is still very low so only light treadmill work allowed.
MummyDeb: Hi! I was following the other January thread for a while (well, stalking) and noticed that you had your bubs at Caboolture Hospital. Dash was born there on the 11th January and I left on the 13th....so as I was leaving you were checking in!! I was a holding hands team girl and also had DD there in June 2007. Welcome, and hope you enjoy our thread. We are all great mums with lots of advice and support.
Gill: How cute about Ella talking when she feeds. They are the moments you never forget.
AFM: As I mentioned to Ren earlier, I 'won' an activity centre for Dash on ebay last night so can't wait to pick that up for him. I never had one for DD and to be honest, wasn't going to buy one for Dash either but I need some way of sitting him up after feeding when we start solids. Anyone else got one? A friend of mine thinks it is a great idea as she said that DD will be able to interact with DS and 'play'....I think she is right. They had their first sibling moment the other day when DD was tickling Dash and he started giggling. DD started giggling and then she gave him a cuddle and said 'luv wu'. What a melting moment (sob sob). Love my kidlets!!
Also, think I will get out the Bumbo today. Dash has started grabbing onto toys (we give them to him and he holds them) so I think it is time for some sitting up and a tray full of toys.....now to keep DD from taking them he he. In a couple of weeks I will get out the teething mesh bag and put some cold things inside for Dash to chew on as he is starting to have a little chew on his teething rings. Too cute!!
Talk soon, have DD saying 'pweeeeeeeze muuuuuuuuuum wink wink' for a drink. Got to love it!!
xx
