feel free to ring me hun, i would love to try and help. I think maybe you are right that I want to go into the profession. When i saw the mothers at my mothers group and someof them were really struggling and they spoke about the techniques they were using (some of th6em letting their little ones cry it out) I just wanted to cry and help them. Obviously i dont know it all and im no expert but all i can do is try and if it works then how awesome, if it doesnt then nothing gained, nothing lost!!
We had a good night again last night Jared really seems to have worked out night from day. During the night he is awake for the first half of his feed and then drifts off to sleep during the end of his sleep and I pop him back into bed. Much better! During the day he likes to have a bit of a play - don't you just love their smiles? Ben slept right through last night too and that's what makes all the difference in this house!
Is anybody watching Bringing Up Baby? I watched in horror last night. That 1950s woman is insane!!! I feel so bad for the babies following her method And the poor mother's especially the mum of the twins, she clearly doesn't want to follow it anymore - poor thing I just can't believe that she won't let them cuddle their babies!!!

He self settled and went straight to sleep,i just took out his dummy, put him down, rocked his cot up n down on the carpet for 2 mins and lights out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This also continued throughout his other wake up times, self settled and went straight back to sleep, only sooked once when he came out of his wrap, was re-wrapped and nini again...he woke up at 815am and is now back asleep in bed with his dad..hes slept a good 5 and a half hours last night between 10.30 and 330am b4 waking for a feed and a wet bum.Hes a good sleeper and if i can continue with getting him to settle this easy,we have a sort of routine working so im going to modify it,try n get him to sleep better and more frequent during the day instead of his long 4-5 hour sleeps where he near in a coma(lol)he wakes for 2-3 hours then has a long sleep, want him to sleep after an hourish then sleep for 2 hours ish like they say, once hes asleep hes a bugger to wake, hates being woken up,gets cranky,oh hes his fathers son thats for sure!
Dunno if i told you that i had Nixons feet hand and cast,oh i cant wait, ladies you have to go do it...Now the hard part is i have to choose a frame..please help me,my house is chocolatte and beige,so is my furniture, even though we will be moving and re-building i plan to keep a lot of those colors,i originally chose a chocolate frame with blue inside and blue matte and a black and white photo of him, with silver feet, hands and plaque, now im thinking maybe i shouldve gone all blue or chocolate and and black, the all blue looks good for a boy.a lot of nixons room is chocolate beige with blue and id like to continue this when he bigger, please help me lol indecisive mum!!!!!!!!! or do i leave what ive chosen already.it was a rush decision as DH was hurrying me up and didnt like what i liked and we could only agree on this.
Also my kids photography is up and going,we gonna do the shopping centre ones in the next month or so,some of them are fantastic, some of them are very flower pot, washing basket basic...i
Jo- yep i think you should look into doing baby whispering(lol well u know what i mean) as a career, and u love doing it,thats why im heading back into my kids photography, not just cos its money cos im passionate and since ive become a mum i know those warm feelings you get when you get beautiful photos,i cried with the ones my friend took.
Has anyone heard how REN is doing with little Ava? hope they are doing ok

Dis - Loving "Bringing up Baby' and totally agree - that woman is a total cow! I am so definatley in the very 'relaxed' Continuum method (the full name escapes me - baby brain ) it's not funny! Henry is a total sling, co-sleeping, booby fed boy. Makes me feel a bit less stressed about him not being in a routine and sleeping in the sling. This child has to be carried around. Lucie and Ned (and me!!) would go crazy being at home for all his sleeps. Hopefully he'll be my chilled out little man
Just a quick one...yeah to all the bubs 'working out their thing' iykwim!
Missed 'Bringing Up Baby' last night. Soph I think you are onto a good thing (don't feel bad about no routine)....yes routines can work....but you can get the same result with no structured routine as well (as you already know having other kiddies). I'm sure DS will be a chilled out dude especially if you are relaxed yourself!!
AJC: Have you heard from Ren....hope all is well. Reflux is awful....especially if it is silent reflux....am lucky that Dash is a 'happy' chucker.
Well little man slept 7pm-7am last night with a quick 10min bottle at 3am (has been doing this for a while now).....but the biggest news is NO VOMIT FOR 3 DAYS now!!!!! What a treasure!! Now to get him to have a dream feed at 9.30pmish - unlike DD, DS won't drink asleep - and he will sleep right through!! But can't make him do something he doesn't want to do - in his own good time. Count my lucky stars and be happy with what he does now I say, as some mums would just love even an hour of continuous sleep!! Don't know how they do it!!
Anyway, gotta go and tend to Dash. Will post my pro-shots this arvo of Dash. Too many to choose from but they are adorable.
Oh i watched some of that show last night, but i had it on mute as i was on the phone to my mum, i couldnt even watch it with the sound off, i saw the bit where the baby was crying and crying and the family was eating dinner and i just wanted to cry, i had to turn the tv off, it distressed me so much, imagine the distress it caused that little baby to be left alone to cry like that.... Oh it breaks my heart.
I used to be a believer that you should let your baby cry as thats what i was raised with, but its just not right, im sorry if anyone here does that but i just cant agree with it, i think its a form of torture.
anyway, had another good night last night, slept right through, he wouldve gone right till 7.30 but i got nervous about him not having anything to eat all night and gave him a feed around 4.30am!!!! I dont know if i was being silly or not but thats what i did.
Have booked into baby massage class, Sonie if you are interested its in Point Cook next Friday and it only costs $2 (the price for the oils) you have to book so if you are keen, let me know and i will give you the details.
any word on Ren??
Orange - go Dash for not vomiting and sleeping really well, you must be thrilled!! Ive noticed Caleb isnt having as many issues with wind and vomiting anymore either, perhaps their little tummies are maturing and getting used to handling it all aye?? whatever it is i know im happy
Well its supposed to be another hot day today... eeek, lets hope those fires stay away!
Jo: Unfortunately Jo, Dash isn't vomitting anymore because of the Zantac and Gaviscon (wish his stomach was maturing)....without it he can vomit across the room and out his nose and it disturbs his feeding. As for waking Caleb at 4.30 - he will wake if he is hungry, so don't worry, obviously he is quite content. DD was sleeping 12 hour blocks at 5 weeks but she would wake earlier if hungry....when she slept through like this though she would have two bottles closer together first thing in the morning or catch up somewhere else during the day. Dash is starting to do this now too. It is around about this time that they drop a bottle anyway (when bottle feeding exculsively) Hope that helps, you are doing a great job.
