Thought I'd weigh into the dummy debate. Before Owen was born we said 'no dummies' but that changed when we were in hospital. He seemed to like to suck, so we bought him one when we came home. It seems to soothe him when he's settling and thankfully he spits it out just as he's going to sleep, so we don't have the issue of him waking because it's fallen out.

Dee- good luck with your next IVF cycle, Owen is an ICSI (IVF) baby and we were lucky and only went through 2 cycles to conceive him, so I can understand what you're going through. Stay strong, hopefully things will work for you soon.

As for night time nappy changes, I've been changing Owen's nappy at night as I am breast and bottle feeding and have to get up to get the bottle anyway. Just make sure I don't really chat to him and try to minimise the light. Have been pretty lucky with the night time sleeps, as he seems to generally be able to settle himself to sleep and sleeps for up to 5 hours at a time.
Day times are a different story!!
