Hi, I am a new member here, but found this post & thought I would introduce myself.

My youngest daughter was born in January 2007, and these days, she is pushing me to my limit. She is so independant, and stubborn, I am just at a lose some days.

    Hi there

Sorry I didn't reply earlier!! DS turned 2 on Saturday - he is going through an "independent" stage at the moment. When does yours turn 2?

Hello. My name is Andrea. I have a son Born 14 January 2007. I just wanted to say hi to all the other mothers with 2.5 year olds. I have found that lately Ds has gotten so rotten in public, screaming just to attract attention, and hitting me. SO frustrating. We do time outs even in public, but i cannot wait for the Terrible 2's to be over. LOL I miss him being a tiny little baby.

    haha
Man I'm struggling at the moment - she is being really nasty at the moment, getting really narky and lashing out.
We used to do kind of a time out thing - but thats not working now, and she's being really defiant.
I have no idea what to do!

Gee and I can't even say its aricyn's influence, he hasn't hung out with her for ages.. LOL

He is the same though, my god - argumentative!!! And sooo defiant!!! We just send him to his room if he's being a brat - seems to work here. Although, yesterday I had a bad mummy moment and hit him on his butt cos he was kicking the absolute crap out of his bedroom door after I had sent him there for putting the poster paint on the dining room chair

I apologised of course for mummy getting angry and reassured him that we don't hit people.. but I don't know how good the message is when I'm smacking him!? Arghh.. I hate 3 year olds.. LOL

Ive done the smack on the bum thing a bit lately too
Usually when she hurts her sister - then I tell her she has to go and sit on the tiles (the most un-fun place in the house!) and she says "no" or screams, or hits/scratches/bites me - so I get grumpy and give her a little smack!

The other thing at the moment is yelling - I yell from the kitchen "stop yelling!"

Yeah we get the yelling here too - and the squealing - except its DD1 and DS doing it together!! Drives me insane, especially when DD2 is sleeping and they do it right outside her room - it always wakes her up

I'm sure they do it just to irritate me! LOL

We have to watch our language here though cos usually DH (or me) will say "SHUT UP!"

Which really isn't good parenting at all... LOL

    Im here!!
Well today we had a breakthrough - Darlie was playing at a friends house and she didn't hit anyone ONCE!!! Instead I could hear her saying "No Emmie, I don't like that!" i was so proud!!!

However, when I was trying to get her to tidy up tonight before bed I said "whatever you haven't packed up I"m going to throw away!" she looks at me and says "thats ok mum, you can throw them away if you want to" very seriously. Oh dear, I'll have to try some more tactics lol

    Haha!! She's calling your bluff

I don't have a huge hitting problem with aricyn at the moment, its more that he will NOT share his toys with his sister. And then she SQUEALS to high heaven and omg - my blood boils!!!! He does it deliberately so she will squeal so I get cut I reckon.

Thats the biggest problem at the moment - oh and he's gone back to not eating anything

Urgh aricyn is exactly the same!! Plus he's suffering from jealousy I think from his sisters - it drives us insane. He's always like "you never did that to me when I was a baby" (like he'd know!!) or "I'm never first with anything" (our reply - you were BORN first, so you'll have that forever)

He's so arrogant too - like he'll argue with you to death even if he is wrong, because he believes he is right about everything!! DRIVES ME BONKERS.

The worst is that now E is copying her - they are almost impossible to dress in the morning - D is especially picky with what she will wear, and is just saying NO all the time! It gets sooooo tiring! I don't know how you do it with 3 others!!!!
