    Morning everyone
Well we had a strange night here last night. Like I said, DD has been getting the hiccups constantly, so last night we decided to try some infant's friend to see if that would help. She didn't get the hiccups but she got really upset and aggravated, didn't settle for a proper nap at all between 7pm and midnight (during that time she would normally be asleep except for feeding times) and she got upset and cried any time we touched her tummy, or laid her on her front, or put her over our shoulder or almost any position for bringing up wind. She was really hungry but because she was soo aggravated she was hurting me and scratching and grabbing at the BB's with her sharp little fingernails. We didn't know what to do with her. She settled down a bit in her rocker with the vibrations on, but she didn't sleep, just kind of snoozed fitfully and looked at the TV. Around midnight I finally found a position she was comfortable with to try to wind her and she fell asleep. She slept until 4.30 and when she woke up she was back to her normal self again. Slept until 8 this morning and again, back to her normal self. It was very weird, I don't think I will give her the infant's friend again, the hiccups are easier to cope with! Bear wants to conduct a double blind experiment to see if it really was the infant's friend but I don't want to take the chance! Anyone else had this problem with infants' friend?
Anyway hi everyone, hope you're feeling better Mel, hope you got some sleep feeb.
mez, belle, kel, zee, tasia, tenny and everyone.
we are just going to have a quiet one today - hope everyone has a good day.

    Hi all

Pixie - nope not that problem with infants friend - she just went back to screaming and pulling her legs up with wind pain.... I hope she behaves tonight for you!!!

Feeb - mine snoozes a bit during the day, but I'm not letting it worry me, I don't even look at the time... lol I hope he gets into a better rhythm for you soon though, it sucks when you can't get anything done!! I hope he starts taking his medicine better too...

Belle - yup two lots of antibiotics that are giving me the runs (lovely side effect!!!) Hopefully it will start to clear up soon cos the pain in my belly is seriously making me cranky. Not too bad at the moment, hurts if I cough, sneeze, blow my nose, move...lol

Just a pain that I have come down with a cold, so I sneeze, cough, blow my nose...

Mez - oh I hope she improves greatly for you on the medicine - and you are a great mum!!

Thanks Kel, and for your text too

Tenny - yeah I was told green means too much iron - has gone back to normal colour now (kind of mustardy colour) so the S26 regular must be working... what excellent growth for your bub!!!! well done - woot!!!

Zee - I hope he starts letting you loose and starts to sleep for you! It is so much harder when you have a toddler running around as well isn't it.

Hi everyone, I have finally gotten my butt back into gear and am back on bb. yay. I have been at home and the computer only a few metres away, but to be honest it has been nice to just be focussing on Georgia and being entertained by visiting family and friends, I was sort of having a computer break, except for a few minutes on fb occasionally. I have missed all of you guys though and am going to go back over all the chatter to see what everyone has been up to.

So an update on me and G. She is really a fabulous little baby, so I feel extremely lucky. she actually is sleeping through the night now... well not every night but we are getting there. Last night I fed her at midnight, and then not again until 7am this morning. we didn't hear a peep out of her all night. during the day she sleeps brilliantly too, and I feed her roughly every four hours. except if we are out and about it is a bit more frequently. she is however generally very unsettled between about 9:30pm and midnight. but i can handle that cos it is really the only time we have any issues and is only a couple of hours. she has put on good amounts of weight and is now 3.2 kilos or 7 pound 1. BFing is now pain free so I am very happy. I started mothers group and it seems like it is going to be really fun.

ThePixie - hey there. I haven't used infants friend, not really sure what it is, but Georgia has hiccups all the time too. They seem to go away quickly if we keep her upright after a feed for a bit longer. The hiccups are just a result of an immature digestive system (a bit like how they chuck a bit after a feed) and except for being a bit annoying to listen to (although I actually think they are quite cute) they are pretty normal, and I don't think they cause any distress to the bubs. Do they upset Beth? cos I don't think they last that long age wise. Just until their systems mature.

Mel - you poor dear. I hope you are feeling a bit better today and that your mum is looking after you well.

Feeb - hi there!!! I hope Jacob's cold gets better asap. How are you? I'm really looking forward to the Melbourne catch up. You guys haven't organised a date yet in my absence have you?? If not, then we should organise it for very soon.

Ok well I gotta go watch the football, DH is calling for me to come watch with him. G is asleep for the moment. I will read up on everyone else over the next day or two (cos it will probably take me that long with 16 pages to read) I'll bbl to see how everyones weekends are going.

Did I say a quiet day? LOL we have had visitors in a continuous stream! LOL DD is sleeping well today though, so hopefully there will be no repeats of last night
JK good to have you back. No the hiccups generally don't worry her although I think she was getting annoyed yesterday she had had them like a dozen times. We just thought the infant's friend might help, but sometimes doing nothing is better!
Anyway, going to make some cookies now, so hope everyone has a good night

Pixie.. hiccups are perfectly normal and really dont effect babies like they do us. Both Jesse and Keira got them in my tummy and once out. Jesse usually once a day but he grew out of them. Theres nothing really you need to do as they dont really worry babies.. but you can offer a top up of breastmilk (or cooled boiled water for those FF) if you wish. RE the Infants Friend.. i dont think it was too good for Keira. Her poos were absolutely potent while on it and it didnt seem to help her at all. Have found the Brauer's Colic Relief a lot better for her. She still has her upset periods usually most nights (most babies have an upset period or hour during the day). Once she's 1 month old im going to try her on the Infacol.

Mez.. oh poor Izzy. Glad you found out what was wrong though. Hope the medicine helps her poor pet.

Jessica.. glad everythings going well and youre enjoying being a mum.

Well 3am seems to be Keira's feed time. The past 5 nights now no matter what time we feed her (usually between 9.30-11pm) her wake up time is 3am.. but then goes back to sleep after a feed within the hour and doesnt wake until 7am.. and today 8.30am! Woo! Was so happy as Jesse slept until 8.30am also, so we all got a nice sleep in.

Mez - I hope Izzy is better today. We had troubles making Hayden swallow the antibiotics when he was on them a few weeks ago, so I hope she takes it allg ood for you guys. Mums always know when their kids aren't themselves.

Pixie - Hayden got the hiccups loads in my tummy, and still goes them regularly too. Sometimes they annoy him and he likes to be held when he's got em, but it could be he just wants to be held anyways, regardless of the hiccups. Lol. Hope your cookies turned our greatttt.

Jess - Wb! Hayden sleeps through the night too. Last feed near midnight and doesn't get up until around 8 or so.

Kell - Yay for the sleep in. That's a great start to the weekend. Whoo hoo!!!

Mel - Do you know what too much iron does? No one has ever told/asked me about his poo colour and if it's a certain colour to change formula. I feel so in the dark. Lol.

Hey, so is anyone being asked if they're having anymore babies already????
It's like people are asking me already, and I'm like "Uh, uhmm.." and look at them funny.
Come on! I only just pushed this one out the other week.

Tenny- People have said to me so when is the next one, I say to them we are trying later this year. (not joking).

Pixie- Jonathan had hiccups in my tummy all the time, & now he's hiccuping all the time as well, I asked the maternal nurse & she said it's perfectly normal. So I was worried as well. But yeah don't stress hun, ur doing a great job

Jess- Hey sweety, glad to see u back. That's great about G getting up at 7am I to feed Jonathan at midnight but he gets up at 4.30am, then at 7.30-8.00am so I am really pleased with that I'm glad everything is going well for u, good on u darls.

Mel- Hey sweety, hope u r feeling better, it was of ur mum to come tound & look after u & ur babies

Mary- How r u sweety, How's Izzy going is she getting better, hugs go out to u sweety

    Hi everyone,

Well we've had some hard nights over the weekend but I think the medication is starting to work (fingers crossed). Izzy is still not sleeping very well during the day only 1 hour here or there. But when we have to go out she is a total angel and sleeps the whole time

Missy - Isabel is having 120mls of formula at the moment but will increase it soon to 150mls and see if she will drink it all. She is also smiling with big open mouth smiles now for 2 weeks and is starting to goo (which I'm over the moon about). Oh I do give her belly time when I have her on the change table after I have changed her nappy so that I am at her level and I can praise her for lifting her head up. By the way Liam looks so handsome in that outfit

Kell - Oh sweet I really do hope that Jesse is feeling better real soon, it's horrible having a sick child in the house.

Kristy - I hope Isaac is better soon too sweet and good on you for cleaning the house and making sure your germ free when touching the twins or yourselves.

Taralee - Welcome to the group sweet!

A BIG to Zee, Mel, Pixie, Tannis, Tenny, Tasia, Jess, Feeb, Belle and anyone else that I have missed.

I'll BBL as my little one is sleeping so I'm going to have some lunch.. and ME time

am i in the right group? lol

Sorry, am still trying to get to know everyone and your babies!
Feeb - sorry to hear you're having a rough time. have you tried a vapouriser? they're fantastic, you can pick them up at the chemist around $40 or so. hope you get some sleep
Ayapi - did you enjoy your 'me' time? goes all too quick, doesnt it?
Missy - can't help with your questions, i'm afraid, except that chino's started smiling. try not to worry about the hearing test. when evie was about 6 weeks old, i was holding her when i set off the house alarm and i was standing right under the screamer. it frightened me and i screamed and couldnt run away from the noise quick enough. i ran to the other room of the house and put evie on the bed and she just looked at me like i was an idiot. it was like she hadn;t heard a thing. i was absolutely devastated. i've since found out that there are sounds babies a) can't hear: and b)don't sound as offensive as they do to us. In the end, i dropped a baking tray on the tiles behind evie to see if she reacted, and she did. Having said that, evie has now taken to screaming and squealing for attention, and chino doesnt react to any of that whatsoever...so try not to stress hun, i know it's hard tho

I got chino weighed today and he's put on 600gm in 2 weeks, then threw up on the nurse and just smiled at her! what a monkey!!!

    Thanks for welcoming me

    Hi girls
I've been MIA for a while as Belle won't go in her bed during the day. She will sleep in the hug a bub if I walk around with her, but that's my best chance. Nights have been going well though, so I'm confused. Needless to say I don't get much time for forums, or anything for that matter! My MIL has been a sanity saver and just holds her sometimes so I can go to the toilet!

Sounds like lots has been happening, hopefully I can have a read and catch up some time soon. Just wanted to say we haven't fallen off the planet and I hope everyone is doing ok. The last 6 weeks have definitely been the biggest learning curve of my life, as I'm sure lots of you will understand.

    Take care girls

Missy - DD has been smiling for about a week now. I was actually surprised cause I didn't think they smiled this early, but she only does her big ol' gummy smiles when DH or I talk to her after a feed. She looks so adorable when she does! The midwife at the clinic saw her do it (about a week ago now) and marked it down as a milestone reached.

Bel - BF still not going so well . Have got the fengreek tablets but I think they are upsetting my stomach, but will persavere. Just spoke to DH and asked him to take me to the doctors tomorrow so I can get a script for motilium (can't drive as I had a c-section). He wasn't happy and thought that I had given up (mind you he has been sitting here watching me try to express several times tonight ). Also tried to put DD on the boob - just to make sure she would still attach - no use going through all this just to have her refuse the boob - and she went on fine . Had her on a few times today, again to help my supply.

    Hey to everyone else.

    Hi all

Mary- Hey sweety, I really hope that the medication has worked, It has to work so can meet up in a few weeks

Missy- The oufit is sooooo gorgeous & so is Liam. I'm giving Jonathan 100mls every four hrs, but I will increase it in a week or so depends if Jonathan wants more. I do burp Jonathan but sometimes he doesn't want to burp so I just leave it, & when he does burp I'm happy. I give Jonathan tummy time everday on the floor he pushes his head up & now he's starting to roll on his side I'm like WTF LOL. Jonathan has had wind smile for about 2 weeks now, LOL it's so cute I'm even trying to snap pics but he stops. He does follow me with his eyes & head, If I'm not there he'll cry his lungs out. Oh & yeah Jonathan does chuck a little when I put him down as well I asked the nurse & she said it's normal but he hasn't been doing as much as he used to. Speaking about 6 weeks check up I have my check up 2m I better go shave the whole lot LOL (TMI).

Kristy- Oh poor Isaac, I hope he gets better. Gastro yeah no, not looking forward to that.

Zee- If it makes u feel any better, my DH didn't take any time off work as he has his own buisness, so it did not bother me at all.

Tannis- Conjunctivitis aaaaaaaaa I used to have them alot as I used to be a child care worker (not anymore) Poor Ash & Jayden. Um why did ur SIL get a fine?

Mel- Yeah that doctor was a moron, glad he's not ur local doc. Hope u feel better soon sweety, how's both ur little one's going?
