OK back again. Was running around trying to get things done. Alot cooler here today thank goodness. It was so hot the past 3 days. oh well got lots of swimming done.
Kristy cant believe I missed your post. Soz hun
Oh wow on Isaac. I know how hard that can be but well done Hope they get to the bottom of his weeing problem and hope your test come back with some thing easy to fix.
Tenny liam is only sitting when he is supported. But he is getting there. I have a pillow thing that supports him so I dont have to always hold him when he sits. It all takes time and im in no hurry to get him to sit. He is growing up Just so fast.
well Liam is having his 3 meals a day and 3 bottles some times 4 depending on how early he wakes. He just had for lunch some mashed banana with his milk. Was like custard when i made it. he loved it so much. He has had banana before(custard out of a tin) but Im one of those mothers that like to make their food fresh. I do have tin food for if we are going out. Just so much easier. He is making all sorts of noises now and its very funny to listern too. He is getting the biggest legs, nice and plump.
Quick question for the second time mums - Is it okay to start weetbix for breaky with our little ones?? I want to start two meals on solids but don't want to give fruit just yet.
I just looked in callums book and it says at 6 months that he is having cereal but it doesnt say if its weetbix or what. It also say multigrain but im not sure if that is farex or waht. I did google and it said the following:
What age can baby have weetabix?
he is nearly 7 month old he has things like mashed bannana, jars of baby food things like that but what age can he have weetabix made with baby milk and left to go really soft

My health visitor told me that from 6 months they can pretty much eat what we eat (with a few exceptions, like nuts, honey etc) I gave my son weetabix and ready brek from 6 months and they are still his favourite breakfasts (he will be 2 next Sunday).
I dont know really. There is mix things on the internet. hmmm maybe google hun
Also Happy 5 & 6mths to the beautiful babies I have missed!!!!
Sorry I have been MIA lately, its been such a busy time since xmas with family etc and of course the new car! Other times I get on and read but then Jayden needs me or Ashlea needs me so I just haven't been getting time (unless I stay up til early hours).
SW: Hope your finger heals quickly (and Alyssia takes to your meds ok!)
Belle: You are not behind with Tara at all, Ashlea hasn't started solids yet and won't be until 6mths or maybe later depending on how the feeding is going.
Kell: Woohoo on the flat stomach! I gotta work on one of those!
Kristy: Hope Isaac is ok
Mez: Jayden started weetbix at about 9 or 10mths
As for us: Ashlea is kind of sitting up, the longest has been about 30 seconds, Jayden is going really well off his bottles and we have just started TT'ing again seriously (so far no nappies or accidence today). Prom dress shopping was really fun and both my niece's have their dresses, I also tried on a few wedding dresses and now I want to get married LOL, Chris and I are discussing dates now! It won't be until spring 2010 at least though. AF was due xmas eve and as it hadn't arrived and I was feeling a little blahh and tired etc I thought I was UTD, despite having HPT's left over from Ashlea I didn't do one as I thought I will just ignore it (so don't want to be PG right now if ever!), well luckily (and not luckily too) AF arrived this morning (only 2 weeks late!). Thinking it might be time for the mini pill or something.
Its meant to be quiet time here and Jayden is going through one of the cupboards in the computer room so I best be off!
ETA: Spoke too soon, as I was posting Jayden wet his pants Oh well can't be perfect straight up haha

Mez.. i was told 8 months to start weetbix.. thats when we started it with Jesse. You can get baby porriage and cereals (but always go off the age on the packet) if you would rather trying that then farex. Its just with the baby foods.
Tan.. woohoo on Ash sitting!cGood luck with Jayden TT. Oh well, he'll get there.
Hey folks...
took Beth up to the pharmacy to weigh her this morning and the baby nurse was there so got her measured as well.....
she is five months tomorrow and her weight is 7.7kg and length 66cm
so a real chunk she is very strong too, scared the baby nurse LOL
Not sure whether I should be giving her solids, so confused about all the advice re: solids and the baby nurse was the worst of all. she was saying because she is so big don't give her solids till six months, well she told the lady before me that she shouldn't give her baby solids cause she was so small (6.5kg) also she said that in five years they will be back to telling people to give solids at 4 months, to wait till she was 5.5 mths, to wait till she was 6 months bah! it's all too friggin hard! she said not to give her rusks till six months well i bought some at the supermarket and she loves them. so i give up listening to those people!
To those who asked about her sleeping, she does sleep at night once I get her down, she was waking up once overnight this week but it seems to be a growth spurt and she slept through again last night. it's just such a battle to get her to take a nap or go to bed. Don't know what the story is and I keep doubting myself because it's such a struggle. for example she has just gone to sleep now after an hour of trying... I will have to wake her up soon because otherwise she won't sleep tonight.
BUT MOVING ON..... HAPPY SIX MONTHS JACOB!!!
SW nightmare about your spider bite! sounds awful!
Tan good luck with the TT and for not being UTD!
Kell I hope things get better for you, sounds like it's not easy atm!
Kristy yay for being down to 76kg!
Belle honey good to see you back, we aren't on solids yet really either just thinking about it or being confused about it more like to Mez, Missy, Tasia, Mel, and everyone else..... have a great day
Pixie.. oh hun they dont make it easy for you do they! I say just listen to your gut instinct and start her when you feel she is ready and when you are ready. There is no rush. Everyone has different opinions on when is right.. but thats also because every baby is different. It can be very daunting starting solids and getting it right and everything. But youll work it out, its all really trial and error and well experimentation for both you and Beth on what works for you. Regarding not until shes 6 months due to her weight.. what a load of balonni! Honestly i dont think it makes a difference. Jesse was always above the 97 percentile, Keira im sure is too and theyve both done fine. Jesse definately isnt a fat kid at all now.. and i think at this age theres no such thing as a fat baby, just baby chub. So yeh hun, just take on board what everyone else is saying or doing and when you think it is time, then you start ok. If you have any questions when you reach that time, ask away. We're all here happy to help ok Great stats too Miss Beth!
thank you so much for answering my question. I think that I will just wait until she is a little older before giving her weetbix. Kell I'll go and check out the baby porridge on the weekend and maybe give her that in the morning and her veggies at night.
Pixie - Isabel is the same during the day but once she is finally sleeping she does really well. Woohoo on Beth's stats that's wonderful. I would just go with your gut feeling about starting solids I tried early with Izzy and she wasn't interested then I started at 5 months and she is doing really well.
Tannis - welcome back sweet. Good to hear that you are talking about setting a wedding date that's exciting. Did you enjoy trying on wedding dresses??
Thanks Kel, I figured I would just work it out as I went along, and there's plenty of good info and peeps to ask questions. I just couldn't believe how many times this nurse woman contradicted herself. My SIL was with me and she just shook her head and said she didn't understand a word of it!
Went to my friends place today, whom i haven't seen in 6 years. Yep that's right 6 yrs, she hasn't changed at all. I bought my wedding album & photos of Jonathan for her to look at. Of course i also bought Jonathan with me, she loves Jonathan. Her two other sister who she lives with. Their mum passed away last april, i have met their mum before & she was a lovely lady. Their dad passed away 7 yrs ago. I never met him.
Tan- Yaaaaay for Ash sitting & Jayden for TT, how exciting Also yaaaaaaaaa for the new, how is it?
Missy- The feeding is going good so far. The past 2 night he has been not waking up so i'm happy with that. He has 2 meals a day somtimes 3. In the morning he will have farex & at 4.30 he will have vegies. In the arvo sometimes he will have puree apple. B ut i want to get him to try pear & c how that goes. Today i got him to try brocolli on it's own, is that ok? He loves it.
Morning all. Well another early start. Callum was up at 5.30am watching the garbage truck. eeewww he loves them so much. Hope he doesnt want to be one when he grows up...lol... Callum and liam both were in bed at 6pm last night so thats probably why they are up so early, but I had to put callum to bed as he was so naughty yesterday as he wouldnt have a sleep..
Tan awww thought you were going to tell us some preggy news..I was getting so excited ....lol YAY on Ashlea sitting up evern if it is only for 30 sec. all counts hun.
Oh pix hun some ppl just have no idea. I would NOT not start beth on solids for the fact that she is 7.7kg (great weight by the way) that is so bullsh*t. You start them when you think she is ready. Look for the sign. How dare she say not to for the fact that she is on the higher side of average. pfffft. Not sure why she is fighting sleeping but at least she is sleeping through. Just a pain when you want to do things during the day and our babies want to stay up or whatever. Dont beat yourself up hun your doing a fab job. YOu only have to look at beth to see that.
Ayapi I was thinking the same thing. Im going to wait until liam is about 7.5months and then try. Ill just get the multigrain soon and get him use to that first.
Kell how you feeling. Are you better and how did the doc's go?? Hope your feeling ok!!
Anastasia well done hun. Glad all is going ok. Yes broccolie is fine. Liam has had that for the past 3 days now. he has had: carrots, potatos, broccolie, pumpkin. Im going to try him on beans then get some sweet potatos and then cauliflour but might wait abit for that one as cauliflour give wind. He has have apples, pears and yesterday I did mashed banana. Loved it.
Oh lol Tanny about the exciting bit when sitting. Yes Liam does that too. When I or callum comes near him he throws himself back and smiles.
Kristy hun when do you get the test results back. Hope you get some answers.
to SW, Zee, Belle, Sweatpea, Arimeh and Bear. Sorry if Ive missed anyone so to you if I missed you.
Went to my parents last night for dinner. Jonathan was soooooo unsettled everytime he would & i walk out after 20 minutes he would wake up & cry. I was saying to my mum, he could just be teething, or he doesn't recognise the room. He was so over tired. When we got back to my place he was out like a light. He had his last bottle at 10pm, but he woke up at 1.45am, hopefully it's just the one off thing.
Missy- Ewwwww how can watch the garabge truck go past. close the curtains or blinds watever u have, so he doesn't watch them & then he won't be interested lol.
Yep hun they so now the differece to their house now. I noticed it when we were away. He was alittle unsettled for the first day. Oh I dont mind him looking just wish the trucks would come at 7ish not 5.30ish...need my sleep...lol
