Happy 6 months Izzy
Can't help on the milk side as I bf and bub is not really on solids yet.
Morning all,
HAPPY 6 MONTHS TO MY PRINCESS
Just a quick one before my DH goes to work. Has anyone else noticed now that their little ones are on solids they aren't drinking their milk?? I'm lucky to get Izzy to drink 80mls during the day. She does drink all her 200mls at 10pm her last bottle for the night and I'm only giving her 4 bottles now. I'm a little worried
well I'll BBL for personals![]()

BIG HELLO TO ALL THE LADIES AND BEAR
HAPPY 6 MONTHS IZZY
A girl at mothers group had same issue and was told by MCHN to cut back on how much solids were offered as Food is fun before one, and milk primary nutrition.
Helloooo ladies.
HAPPY 6 MONTHS TO IZZY and all those gorgeous babies ive missed!!!
Just dropped Jess off for another day of pre-school. He was so excited to go, went racing in there when we got there so im very happy with that!
Mez.. at 6 months you can cut down to 3 bottles. That might be the go? Just remember though that their formula is still most important to them until theyre 1. I think they need to be having over 600mls .. maybe more. You could also offer her some yogurt to get her a bit more calcium. Maybe when you cut back to 3 bottles she will drink more each time. Only other thing to do is offer her bottle to her before she has her solids?
Tan.. oh how gorgeous is Jayden. I love those little things they come out with, just makes your heart melt doesnt it. Hope he went ok at FDC today.. and you did tooHope hes feeling better soon too hun.
Mez.. oh that will be fun going swimming with Izzy. When do you start?
Mez/Missy.. Yeh it wasnt too bad.. everything was pretty nice.. nothing mensioned about our Christmas. They brought all the presents down etc.. mum actually played with Jesse i was so shocked! Dad loved holding Keira. My dad and i are very similar people so we get along really well.
Missy.. oh good on you going to the gym! hot mumma.
Tenny.. hows H's rash going? Did you find out what it was causing it?
Ok.. while Keira's asleep im going to tackle making these candles for her naming day.
Have a great day.
Kell - I always give the bottle first before solids and she really is only having rice porridge in the morning and then at 6pm she has dinner which is like 2 icecubes of veggies so I don't think I'm feeding her too much solids?? We start swimming lessons on 5 Feb can't wait!
Tasia - Looking forward to seeing you and Jonathan tomorrow. Have fun today at lunch.
oh tomorrow Izzy is getting her 6 months immunisations that should be interesting as I'm going on my own
A BIGto Missy, Sweetpea, Feeb, Pixie, Zee, Belle, Tenny, Tannis and everyone else I've missed.
Hi all,
Hope your weeks are going ok. Dam not living down in Melbourne would of loved to meet up.
Reaghan had her 4 month needles today (so behind but at least getting done). She was fine cried for a few secs, and that was it.
Hey everyone.
SW - Hiiii
Tan - That's sooooo cute of Jayden. Haydie is all about standing. He'd prefer to stand then sit.
Mez - Happy six months Izzy!!!!!
Good luck with the bottles and the immunisations tomorrow.
Sweetpea - Great to hear DD went well with her shots. I didn't know you lived in ACT. I was up there last week on thurs and friday.
Kell - His rash is getting better. His skin is sooooooo so sooooooo dry and flaky. It's like it's all peeling off and stuff. The heat isn't helping with it all though. It's making the healing go slower. Great to hear about Jesse loving preschool this week. I hope he brings paints and cool stuff home for you.
As for us:
I'm cranky and feel like I do everything. Run down and just blah. Also feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat. AF isn't even close either. I don't know what the go is.
On a brighter note my sister comes home from overseas on monday. I'm so excited. I've missed her so so soooo much and I'm glad she's home to see Elijah start his first day at big school too.
Mel, Pixie, Tasia, Feeb, Missy, Belle, Zee, and anyone else I may have accidently missed.
I hope you ladies have a great meetup tomorrow too.
Morning sexy mummas!
Tenny.. aww poor thing. Just lather him up in some sorbelene. Yeh Jesse always gets a wicked heat rash. Has one all over his neck and back atm. I remember when he had his hormone rash as a newborn, he then had the heat rash too and made it so much worse. Hope its not causing Hayden too much grief. Aww hunyou are doing a great job hun, dont ever forget that ok. You are a star. I do know how you feel hun. Just make sure you try and take some time for you ok.. even if its just to sit on the loo and read a mag! Oh yay for your sister coming back!
Mez.. oh no thats not much solids at all, yeh id say she just doesnt need that much formula, so maybe you could try cutting back to 3 bottles. Thats usually the signs you look for as to when to cut back. Oh swimming will be fun with Izzy, youll love it.
Nothing new here.. Jess had a great day at preschool again yesterday so im so pleased. Makes me so happy hes loving it. He even had a 1/2 hour sleep.. shock horror!
Going looking for a dress for Keira for her Naming Day today.
OH! i do have something to tell! Some of you may have seen my facebook status. Well! My SIL has told mum that they wont be coming to Keira's naming day because shes working (not that i really care TBH).. but the thing is on her facebook page she just messaged a friend (who i know also).. do you want to come over for a BBQ on the 15th Feb.. Keira's Naming Day! Reason shes being so spiteful is because we couldnt make it to my neice's birthday party because DH was working and i wasnt driving up there with a newborn and Jesse and back in the same day by myself. So shes peed at us for that. Hense also she hasnt given my kids any Christmas presents. I just think that is so lame. Its not like i havent ever made an effort. I took Jesse to my neice's christening when i was heavily pregnant, when Jesse chucked a fit and my own mother wouldnt even help me out, my aunty did. So serious she needs to pull her head in and realise the world doesnt revolve around her.. and TBH im glad theyre not coming cos they just put a dampener on any event we have anyways.. its just the principal of it iykwim.
ok rant over.
Agghhh my damn arm is still aching..
Have a nice day all.. hope its not too hot!
Kell - what a so & so is your SIL. That is so childish of her. Like you said your day will be a better one without her there! Oh I can't wait to see photos of Keira's Naming Day. So good that Jesse is loving pre-school too makes it a lot easier on you too knowing he enjoying going hey.
Tenny - I feel a little like you too sweet, I pretty much do everything around the house and look after Izzy 24/7. Last night she was so unsettled (just found out why, she has another tooth that has cut thru her gums)and I just cried and cried I couldn't help it. sending you lots of
Sweetpea - good to hear that Reaghan did so well with her needles.
Izzy went for her 6 month needles today and the poor darling cried her little heart out with the second one it broke my heart! But she went to sleep as soon as I put her in the car. I'm just going to feed her now and get ready to meet up with the Melb girls really looking forward to it cause it's also a beautiful day out!
BBL
Kell what a cow your SIL is! I can't believe she would do that... some people!
Tenny I hope Haydies rash gets better.... this heat is such a killer, the poor little things must be so uncomfortable... and we have no aircon![]()
Mezyou poor thing feeling so overwhelmed... i am pretty sure we all have days like that, especially when the little ones are unsettled. Hope you feel better and things get easier.... is DH any help? I was nearly in that state the other night and the Bear came home from work (after a 12 hour day) and took her off my hands for the rest of the evening.
sweetpea, SW, Mel, Belle, Zee, Missy and everyone
well its too hot to remember what everyone has said but big toall, try to keep cool.
I was at the gym just now and Beth was in the creche and she got so upset they had to come and get me out of the classI felt like such a bad mummy for putting her in there! Hope she's not traumatised cause I still have eight more visits
O and the other thing.... we're up to day 4 with no poo..... I'm really getting worried, she has never gone more than about 24 hours without a poo before... and she's drinking constantly, because its so hot any thought of structured mealtimes is out the window, I'm just giving her a drink whenever she wants it.... I'm really worried about the explosion when it comes! Yesterday I even gave her prune juice with her banana in the hope that it would get something moving.... but so far nothing
MG later today and in the meantime, just trying not to melt!~
Happy 6mths IZZY!!!!
Just quickly, about to attempt another cake
Pix: The banana could be binding her up, maybe try some prune juice on its own or mixed with water. Don't they say banana can either bind you up or make you go? Hope she goes soon, I know what Ash used to be like when she didn't do them for days!
Pixie - We have no air con either. We'll get it one day, but we've just got other things going on and it's pushed to the wayside, you know. The heat is so awful for his rash and it doesn't help that he doesn't cool down fast either, just like DP. High body temps or something. I just feel like the worst mother in the world cause we don't have the air con to help him. DP tries to reassure me and stuff but Idk I'm just down. Luckily for us today is a mild day to give him (and me) a break. I hope Beth poos soon and it's not all huge and all at once.Good luck with that. We had this poo drama the other day and Haydie screamed cause it must have been stinging his bum cause of the rash. I almost cried for him. Awh, I hope Beth is ok at the creche at your other visits. Missing her wonderful mummy. Haydie is starting to crack it when he's with someone else and can't see me. He did it yesterday when he was with my dad. Hehe.
Mez - Awh, poor little mite. I hope you have a great time at the meetup and your DD isn't whingy or anything. It's awful when you can't do anything for them or they can't tell you what exactly is wrong.
Kell - I can't believe your SIL. That's petty and childish, geez.
I hope you're all having a fantastic day and YAY! It's almost the weekend.
Along the poo lines.
Haydie had all these little nuggets in his nappy this morning, so he's gone from diahorrea(sp?) ones to these nuggets. Sorry if that's TMI. I wanted to share. Hehehe.
Sleep is still disrupted in our house too. He rolls over in his sleep now too, and that wakes him up and he hates it. We'll get past it... eventually, I hope.
EDIT:
Hey, Tan!!! We must have been posting at the same time. I hope your cake turns out better this time.
Hellllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?
I scared everyone off.![]()
Nah Tenny it was just too hot yesterday to post!!!
Well when I say we have no aircon, that's not exactly accurate... we have about four airconditioners in the garage, most of them in boxes....its a Bear thing. We don't really have the space to install any of them here, and cause we are right on the water we usually don't really need it. But yesterday!!!!! it was like a desert... hell on earth. We ended up fishing our portable airconditioner out of the garage and setting it up in the lounge room... it took the edge off.. that and going for a swim every couple of hours!
Well the poo came yesterday and it was fine... nothing out of the ordinary at all. Maybe we are just moving to lower frequency poos?? Still trying to get sleeping right.... naps have been a bit all over the place and I think that's part of the reason she has been going to bed really late .... last night didn't get her down until 9pm. it's a PITA cause it means we don't eat dinner till nearly ten.... gonna try to be more disciplined today and make sure she has proper naps.... she's been asleep since 8.30 so first one is on track.
Anyway... enough about me
Tan saw your cakes! YUM! they look great did you get more rhubarb? We get beautiful rhubarb at the markets but I never know what to do with it!
Mez how did the melb meetup go? how is JessicaKate she doesn't post these days?
Kel did you get a dress for the naming day?
Have we missed any bubba's six months birthday? I can't rememberanyway, suppose I'd better go get a life so big
to SW, sweetpea, Mel, Missy, Tasia, kristy, Belle, Zee and everyone!
Morning lovely mumma's & daddy,
Pixie - good to hear that Beth finally did a poo for you and it wasn't an explosion that you were expecting. Izzy normally goes to bed by 7:30 - 8:00pm but sometimes it's 9:00pm depends if she is overtired poor little chicken. hope you get the naps right I just pretty much go with what she wants to do as long as she sleeps through the night I'm happy. Jess & Georgia are doing really well. Our meet up was beautiful, it was a beautiful day so very enjoyable and loved seeing all the little ones again they have grown so much, they were all sitting in highchairs
Tannis - how did your cake turn out?? Love the pics of your kids they are just adorable.
Tenny - Hope Hayden is sleeping better for you sweet. Oh your DS1 is starting school next week right?? Is he excited??
Not much happening today just having a quiet one at home with my princess, maybe do some washing etc. Oh and I have finally got Izzy to sleep in her grobag again woohoo..
Hi Everyone,
Hope yourweekends are going well.
I had a pretty full on few days. On Thursday me eldest woke up with a temp of 39.2 and two sore ears. So took her to the dr's middle ear infection in both ears, while there got Reaghans 4month immunisations done (so behind). Friday Reaghan was grumpy all day.
Dh has been working heaps so two 14hr nights Wednesday, Thursday, home friday to sleep it off. Worked yesterday and agian today and tommorrow. So he is not here to help out with the kids to much.
Reaghan has decided she does't sleep threw anymore and has been waking every 3-4hrs. I my dd#2 has been sleep walking again and talking so sleep is none existent.
I think Reaghan is finnnaly going to get teeth. She was chewing on a rusk and there was a bit of blood on it, not sure where from though. She is sitting realy well and has nearly worked out how to get from laying to sitting and visa versa.
This comming week goto get everything ready for my two eldest to go to school DD#2 first year of big school as she calls it and everyday asks if school starts today.
Hope everyones bubs are doing well.
