Brooke, yep I would definately take Maya to see Dr for her first cold sore. It is causes by the herpes simplex virus, and usually once in your system, is there for life, it comes active ( you get a coldsore) and then it lays dormant again, most become active when you are run down, and low on vitamens, so Gp should hopefully look at cause, as well as cure, as I am not sure of the safe coldsore remedies for children.
