Just checking in lol
Hi Mel! lol!
Just a quick one ladies, i just popped in for a read while having a cuppa
Have just put ethan to bed and he decided he wouldnt be sleeping today he has been up since seven and is now soooo overtired but has gone to sleep with out and issue
I will pop back later as im going to get some tea and watch Domestic Blitz, has anyone been watching that? things like that usually put a tear in my eye but the damn pregnancy emotions having me bawling from beginning to end! LOL.
OK BBL![]()
Hi guys
Just a quick one, haven't had a chance to have a good read through last week or so - computer was on the blink.
Jess, I think you asked if DH was still working away - he is, two on two off. He's leaving again in the morning actually and we have just been having major progress with sleeping and eczema so I'm hoping it doesn't go downhill when he leaves. Autie loves her dadadadadad LOL Things seem to be going well for you - hurray!
We have started swimming lessons which she loves so farShe has always had kicky frog legs so now she gets to put them to good use. Four teeth still, not walking yet - too happy and fast on all fours I think, though she does love her push toy and rearranging the dining chairs. Pointing is her big love at the moment - anyone who talks to her gets a quick run through of anything in sight and it's the first thing she does on waking and standing up in her cot - point point point. Amusing.
I have been bad and bought birthday presents that I've given her alreadyWell, I just couldn't stand that same Hi-5 dvd over and over
And then, she needed a little fold out couch to watch her new one right?.... LOL What has everyone else got in mind for presents?
Oh and we went to the doctors for her eczema and I asked the doc to check her over in general while we were there and it turns out she has a heart murmur. Apparently it's very common in young kids but we are going to have her checked by the paed in a couple of weeks - yoink! $210 thanks very much. Ah well, what price your baby's health I guess.
Hope you are all well and happy(threw that one in just cos I like it)
Sacha - nice to hear from you! I was just thinking about Autumn and her eczema the other day - there was a report on Today Tonight about a guy that has made up a cream called Invisible Glove to treat eczema. He is a grandfather whose grandchild had it really bad and they couldn't find anything to cure it, so he mixed some stuff up himself. It worked so well that he marketed it and sold stacks and is now a millionaire (you know how that always happens). The thing that seemed really good about it is that it had a money back guarentee, so it obviously works quite well. But you sound like you are getting on track with it anyway. That is a bit of a shock about the heart murmur. Hopefully everything goes well - I don't know anything about them - so keep us posted on how it goes with the paed.
We are going birthday shopping this weekend. DH is saying we have to be very strict on what we buy as T won't know its his birthday and family members have gone crazy already (one sister is out hunting for a hutch for the rabbit she is going to buy for Tom. Or maybe two rabbits so they won't be lonely). We are buying him a bike - one of the peddle ones with the handle so you can push them along, one of those rugs with the race car tracks on it and some shoes. To add to that I want to get him some books and new DVD - I work in an ABC shop so heaps of DVD's I have my eyes on. Tom is a little obsessed with Justine Clark off Playschool and she has a cd of kids songs that I might get to play in the car.
I was settled in to do a big post but i think I am pushing my luck! Tom has been so good today - I have been doing heaps of housework and he has been playing happily by himself, but is starting to get a bit antsy now! I think it might be mummy/son playtime. Will try to come back in over the next few days to catch up with other posts and personals xx
Ok trying again! And trying to remember what was said in the other thread..
Flossie - your invites sound fantastic. It is motivating me to get my butt in to gear! Not long now until the Sex and the City movie comes out! Are you still excited? I definiately am. I will put in a friend request for you on Facebook so that I can have a look at Olivia's outfit.
Nicky - how is the weaning going? I did pretty much what you have done - reduced the feeds to a couple a day, then just a morning one (when I was fullest) then none. I had to occasionally express a little just to take the pressure off a bit but all in all went pretty well. I think with mastitis you have to keep an eye out for feeling achy and tired etc. The only thing that happened with me is a few weeks after I stopped feeding i got a blocked ducted which appeared as a hard painful lump. The doctor sent me for a ultrasound in case it was something worse, but all came back fine and it cleared up in a few days.
Grrr - just got interupted by annoying door to door sales man who did not have very good personal hygenie and couldn't take no for an answer!! How annoying! Run out of time now - have to go start dinner! Hope everyone is well and not too sad that our little bubbas are almost one!!
Em - Ooh Justine Clarke - I find her kind of irritating! But then Autie seems most impressed with Nathan from Hi-5 and he gives me the irrits as well - maybe I'm just jaded from all the years of children's tv at work LOL
I have the Invisible Glove actually - bought it years ago at a flea market but never tried it on Autie. Then my SIL sent me a tube just today - freaky.
Isn't it great when they're happy to play on their own for ages? Autie is getting so confident. We went to church the other day and she was playing happily around my feet, then went down to the end of the seat, turned and waved at me and took off down the aisle. Mum and I just looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh out loud. She was on a mission so I let her go to see what she'd do. then a Japanese lady a few rows down rushed to grab her and took her back to sit on her lap letting her play with her wallet and giving her big hugs. Autie just accepted it and started pointing things out to her![]()
The bike with the handle is a great idea - I think we'll get one for Autie eventually but probably not til Christmas. I love having her birthday half way through the year - much easier to keep up with developmental stages. My niece and nephew are both within a 4 weeks of Christmas so it's an expensive time present wise!
Uh oh, think I hear stirring... she is restless tonight. Better go.
Sacha - that is spooky about the Invisible Glove! I cannot stand Nathan off Hi 5. Far too enthautiastic for my liking. Justine Clarke annoys me a little - when she sings "I like to sing" I always think "I really wish you could" but she is Tom's heart throb at the moment, and we can't deprive him of that! Tom has woken a few times tonight but I think it is because DH is watching Top Gear and he keeps laughing really really loudly. I better go wack him over the head and tell him to be quiet!
Does anyone have FOX? Justine sings a song, something like 'it's my birthday today, I'm older than yesterday......", well it comes on everyday, on the nick jnr channel, and OMG, everytime it comes on, I could scream, but for some reason the kids love it, arhhhh!!
Thinking I might get Jack a push bike. He loves to get around on Charlize's Dora one, but Daddy isn't too keen on him riding a pink and purple bike, so will try to get him a boyish one. Might also look at some little toys. We can't afford much at the moment, with DH on strike at work. Our monthly income has nearly been cut in half.
Anyway, the rain hasn't stopped all day her today, I have already emptied out the rain gauge once, and it's already got another inch in it. So that's about 9 inches today!! And about 6 yesterday. Keep it coming I say.....
I had Jack weighed again the other day, and he has reached the 11kg mark. Yes that's 11kg, he is getting so big, so quickly. But he is still my little boy, he still loves his cuddles and kisses. He is talking a lot more now as well. He can say bubbles, ball, piggy, puppy, bye bye. So cute.
Sacha, that's so sweet that Autie went exploring at church. She sounds like a very social little girl, how cute!! Oh and sorry to hear about the exzema still flaring up. It used to break my heart when Charlize had it. Hopefully you can get some relief soon. Oh and I have a heart murmer, it hasn't affected me at all, except when I would have an anxiety attack, then the racing would give me cold flushes and dizzy spells, but my doc said that could just have been from the anxiety though, but other than that zippo. HTH
Em, rabbits sound like a cute present. Are they much to look after? I want to get another pet for the kids, we only have a fish ATM, and DH said they are still to young for a dog and he hates cats. It's always good when you can get some house work done, without someone being attached to one leg, lol.
Anyway, should do some more ironing, just trying to get the pill down to at least the rim of the baskey, a couple more should do it. I used to love ironing, I still do, I just never have the energy to get it done.
Hi all,
Mel - Olivia is 11kg as well!! She just LOVES her food, Mum said today she nearly shoved a whole 1/2 sandwhich in her mouth!!!
Got to be quick as DH needs pc so will be back tomorrow. But last night we DTD and then this morning I was bleeding, sorrry TMI. But it can't be AF because I am on the pill and its not meant to be due until next week (although I have missed the last 3 pills). Now i dont know what to do, take tonights pill or stop????
Jess, I can't believe your nearly 3 months pregnant already. How quickly has that gone, although I bet, it hasn't felt so quickly for you. Hope the sickness has eased up by now. Are you getting the NT scan done? If so, I bet you can't wait to see him or her. Are you going to find out the sex this time around? Sorry for all the ?'s. How are you feeling hun? Remember you can always PM or email me if you need a chat.
Lis, wow at olivia being 11kg as well. Charlize is only 11.9kg, and she is now 2. She must love her food to bits.
Good night all.
Ahhhhh its sooo peaceful!! Lol ethan has finally given in and gone to sleep, today and yesterday he has just not been interested in sleeping, yesterday he didnt have a single day sleep and today we only got 25mins! he is usually in bed between 6.30 - 7pm but tonight not till 8.30He has been really clingy too. A funny thing happened today, i went out for morning tea with mum and ethan was sitting in the highchair at the cafe banging his toy and saying "bum bum bum" rather loudly!
i think he was mixing bub and mum! Quite entertaining i must say with the looks from people
Is anyone elses bub not eating well? I seem to be struggling to get much solids into ethan at all, he spits everything out or chucks it over the side of his high chair, i know he wont starve himself but it gets quite frustrating at times.
Sacha- I hope Autie doesn't get too upset when dh leaves, especially when you doing so well. Ethan gets unsettled for the first 2 days after justin goes back to work, he is still doing 2 weeks away 1 week home. Ethan loves his dad too! Sorry to hear that autie has a heart mumur, hope all goes well and as em said keep us posted
Em- The bike does sound great! I got Ethan a Elmo quilt cover set as i couldnt resist lol he wont use it for awhile but oh well, we are also going to get him a lady bug blow up tunnel and tent thing which has a little ball pit on it, and im going to see if we can get a RAGS dvd, maybe just some outfits and a pair of shoes. Oh aren't those salesmen annoying!
Oops ethan is awake! Will pop back and finish off shortly.
back! Ethan was so sad, crying in his sleep, its been awhile since i have had to pat and rock to settle himHe was calm but not asleep when i came out.
Mel- How are you hun? I dont have fox, my sisters does and cant stand justine singing that either, but her kids like it too! What a healthy weight Jack is! I haven't had ethan weighed for ages. How long is DH on strike for? Gee that must be toughWow thats some nice rain! It rained really heavy here too non stop for the last 2 days but cleared up now. Suprisingly i almost cant believe how quickly the first trimester has gone too! I guess being so busy with ethan is a good thing sometimes
The sickness is tolerable when i take maxalon 3x a day but its just about to run out and i cant get to the dr for 2 wks!! Hoping it will just ease off now though. Not having the NT scan done as they dont do them here and i cant get away to perth, but will be having a dating scan (haven't been able to get in yet) thursday morning so will get to have a little sneak peek then, only 3 more sleeps, very excited! Not sure yet if i will find out the sex, i really would like to have a suprise this time but i may not be strong enough. Although my instincts are saying pink this time, with ethan i had a strong feeling it was boy from early on. Still very overwhelmed at having a bub so close to christmas but its growing on me lol. Im feeling ok, still having some real downer days, but getting there, i am seeing a councillor now to and he is fantastic. Other than that tired
Lis- Great weight for olivia too! Im not sure about your situation re the pill, sorry i cant help you, maybe leave it tonight and speak to your gp about it
Ok ladies thats enough babble from me i think!!
Sweet dream to all!! (mine have been very random lately!)
Em you crack me up! I think it's Justine's lack of talent that gets to me too.
My DH has a loud tv laugh habit too but we recently installed a door in the hallway which has made the world of difference to the noise levels at the bedroom end.
Mel, that must be hard with the cut in income - at least your kids aren't at the 'I want a playstation' age yet! (small consolation) Jack sounds like he's really talking well. We are only just getting 'mama' and 'dada' now which is cute to hear - this morning was the first time she called out to me from her cot instead of resorting to the cry. Thanks for letting me know about your murmur - I have decided to worry only if I have to (I'm trying to cut down on stress) Jack must be a good version of the bouncing baby boy at 11kg! Autie is still only about 8kg though not skinny - go figure! How's the study going - haven't heard of that for a while?
Lis - Might it just be spotting from missing your pills? I'm not sure as I don't take the pill. Could be coincidence that it was after DTD? Is it a lot? Is it being pregnant you're worried about? If so, then maybe getting a doc appt would put your mind at ease all round. So many questions! Hope you sort it out today.
Jess - Autie has been eating less the last week or so but is chewing her finger a LOT so I'm thinking more teeth on the way. I've been giving her rusks as she seems to find them soothing (and eats a fair bit of it as well) We actually had her best night ever after saying goodbye to daddy last night (he leaves early in the morning so we pretend he is going just before bedtime) Not sure if it will start to click today but we'll see how tonight goes. It breaks your heart when they cry in their sleep huh? Maybe a dose of Panadol or Brauer's would help before he goes down. Hope you get some relief from your MS and it's good to hear you have a counsellor you like
Well off to get something done while the angel's sleeping I guess (or maybe just read my book...)
Hi ladies
I have finally finished my 4 weeks of prac work and its sooo good to be back to being a FT mummy again. I think Tayah is glad too, she wasn?t too happy about getting dragged out of bed at 7am every morning. Takes after her daddy and enjoys her sleep-ins.
Tayah has turned into a little monkey, she is climbing up on everything. Yesterday morning when I was getting her bottle ready I turned around and she had climbed up on the lounge and was standing on the edge of it not holding onto anything (with a very cheeky look on her face). Well I have never run so fast in my life. So now I have a walking climbing baby, I can?t turn my back for even 2 seconds. We still have no teeth here, but one of her bottom teeth is sitting just under the gum and she has been a bit whingy for the last couple of days which is not like her at all, so fingers crossed we may have a first tooth in the next couple of days.
I?m loving all this talk about birthday parties and presents. I have a bit of an idea about what we will do for the party, but no idea what presents to get her. She already has heaps more toys and clothes then she needs so im thinking of getting something that she can keep, any ideas?
Hopefully I will get some time for personals now prac is finished but unfortunately today the housework needs to be done.
Hope everyone is well
Hey Girls!
Just a quick one from me for now as I need to take my washing off the line thats been sitting there for nearly 3 days!
But I just wanted to say... Lis - I dont think that you need to be worried about being pregnant! If that IS what you are worried about... if your period is due next week then I dont think you would have been fertile at the time of DTD. I know this is probably a bit of a personal Q, but do you and DH DTD often? Cause I remember you were a bit hesitant after the birth of Olivia, so maybe things are a bit different in that region!! BUT If you are worried, see your doctor, but I think you should just take your pill as usual.
Anyway, better go and get the washing down!! Probably BBL when Avaleigh is asleep
Alright - I am back for my afternoon post while Avaleigh is having a nap.
Its good to hear from a lot of you guys and great that al bubs are going well. But I must say, WOW to the 11kg bubs!!! I wouldnt have a clue how much Avaleigh weighs, but I dont think its any more than 9-10kg. I might get her weighed next time the lady is standing out the front of the chemist doing the baby checks.
Avaleigh is going really well. Her teeth dont seem to be bothering her at the moment. (Mel - has Jack's come out yet??) I do this she has 4 of her front top ones coming through as there are 4 bumps. I think the front two may make an appearance in 2 weeks or so, but who knows!!
Jess - Avaleigh is playing a bit with her food too but she normally spits out her food, her drops her food over the side when she has had enough.
We're going on our family getaway soon - I cant wait!! Leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday night. Only a few days but it will be good to get out of Perth and just do something as a family!! Jason works most weekends so it will be a good break for him too.
On the Birthday front, I have cut down on some of the sweets - mum thought I was making too much and I think she had a point!! So I am making 3 different sweet things and we'll have a cake too. I am going to start buying things for the party now so we arent left with a huge amount to pay for the week before the party. I have no idea what to get Avaleigh... I am hoping that people will get her lots of toys as she is soo bored of hers and we cant afford to buy any. A fold out chair sounds like a good idea and then I thought maybe a some sort of toy that she can stand at and play with, cause she aint a fan of sitting these days!!
Well I think I better make a move and do some dinner..
Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted too much lately have been quite busy!
I think Noah is around 11kg Now he's not even real chubby just normal he is just tall and heavy, Phil is way way heavier than you would think too so don't know much be big heavy bones or something?
Well I have just realise that is now June and that mean next month all our babies will be 1!!! How on earth did that happen?? It is very exciting but I almost feel like crying! We are most likely ttc next month. We wanted our kids 2years apart but Phil doesn't want them to be born in the same month so that's why we'll try then. (I got preg pretty much immediately last time) I know Nicky is joining me next month and Jess beat us all (congrats at been 1 third of the way there!) but is anyone else coming along too?
