All the best.

Just popping in to say Happy New Year to everyone. Our bub's will be 2 in 2009 - eek.
Anyway, a quiet night at home for us, which I'm not-so-secretly very happy about. So I'm off to clean the bathroom!
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
I know its been a while since I've popped in here but dont have much else to do tonight as we are having a quiet one too and I aint too happy bout that either! I feel like I am being a little ripped off hey! But, you get that!!
I hope everyone had a very merry christmas and hopefully will see more of you all in the new year!
-
Hi ladies
Thankyou all for your congrats on the arrival of noah.
wow i forgot how exhausting and busy it is having a new born bub i think lol and half the time feel like i am a zombie. Noah is quite unsettled atm and feeding has turned into a nightmare but we will get there. Ethan still not very impressed by the new addition and still quite distant with me which im finding very sad but i make sure i get a bit of mum and ethan time each day.
Hope you all had a fantastic chrissy and new year. Christmas really didnt feel like christmas this year as we only came home a week before christmas and it was just sooo busy so just had immediate family come to my place so i didnt have to take noah out in the heat. New years was just a sleepy night at home but i must say i did see it in! I was watching the fireworks on tv while noah was feeding.
V- Hi nice to hear from you. Hows avaleigh? How are you all handling the heat? i have hated it!
Jan- lol i was thinking the same thing today! scary though isn't it how fast time has gone and how quickly they are growing up. I haven't got around to retiring toys yet but really need too and soon, they are everywhere.
Nicky- How are you feeling? How was the scan?
Sacha- How exciting re TTC! Hope all goes well and it happens nice and quickly for you.
Okay must go, thought noah was going to sleep but sounds like a demand for the milk bar again. will try to get the photos up soon.
-
Hi there girls! Hope you all had a fantastic new year!
Scan went really well. Bubs is really healthy and measuring spot on for dates. I got a massive shock at the end of the scan though, when the sonogrpaher told me I was having a girl! I am still in shock! I was convinced it was a boy. So Adam and I are thrilled with the news:)
Jess - Glad to hear things are going well.... I can't even imagine how hard it will be when #2 comes along, so I will be sure to track you down for advice. lol
You sound like you are doing a wonderful job.
Hi everyone! I'm off to bed as I am stuffed from the holiday, but will pop back to catch up.
xxoo
-
Happy New Year guys. Hope it's a peaceful one for you all.
Nicky, congratulations on your little girl! You'll have so much fun buying clothes for her! LOL Glad to hear all is well.
Jess  Don't let Ethan's reaction to it all get you down - I'm sure he'll come round. Besides, boys are just like that sometimes...always going into their caves for some reason or another LOL Good idea to keep yourselves home for Christmas. Hope the feeding gets better for you soon. Is it a pain problem? Can't wait to see some photos!
Jan, with Dan away, I had a very quiet New Year's too. I spent it watching the Masterchef marathon... LOL It IS hard to believe we will have two year olds in 6m! I'm really looking forward to some better speech by then though. Autie has 'pees' (please) down pat but then won't add on what it is she actually wants and it's getting quite frustrating for both of us  She claws at my legs saying 'oh pees pees pees' and I have to go through a whole list - do you want food/drink/cuddle/nappy change/Hi-5/some random toy/the gecko on the wall - you get the picture.
Anyone else a little freaked out by the garlic bread ad with the sinister Italian grandma hanging on the clothesline?
-
Happy New Year to everyone!
Jess - well done on seeing the New Year in, you did better than me, I went to bed at 11ish, just didn't have the energy to stay up any longer. Hopefully Ethan will settle into his new Big Brother role soon. It is a big thing for him I guess, and at only just 18 months he's still such a little person, it must be hard to learn to share Mum's attention.
Nicky - yay for a girl, how exciting. All the pink thinks you can buy! Glad to hear the scan went well.
Well, I'm going to do a little grumble. A bit before Christmas, we decided that we'd do at least 1 family day trip before DF goes back to work on Monday. So today, even though it was cold & kept being rainy, we decided to go for a drive to Warburton, just to see what was there, as neither of us had been. So, I'm thinking that this trip is just a bit of a family day, but noooooo... on the way, DF decides to ring his brother to invite him along. And murphy's law, FBIL, who is the most antisocial person I know, to the point of dysfunctional, and says no to virtually every other invitation, decides to say Yes. I held it together, and pretended to be normal, but I have to tell you girls that I was so pee'd off. This is the guy who lived with us for over 6 months, didn't start looking for his own place until I was nearly 7 months pg, comes over for dinner (as long as it's pizza) almost every week but never brings anything with him, doesn't actually talk to me when he comes over, just talks to DF & Liam, if it's Liam's dinner time makes comments to Liam about how much better chips & chocolate are, and that vegetables are "yucky"...well, as you can see, he kind of does my head in. Oh, and he's a vegetarian who doesn't eat vegetables, exists on pizza, chips & tim tams mostly. To top it all off, the cafe we chose for lunch was really ordinary, & had rubbish coffee, so I couldn't even enjoy that.
So that's my whinge.
On a good note, I wrote down all the words that Liam can say and got to 21 - so waaay over the 5-10 words the blue book asks for. So feeling happy about that, cos a month ago I was thinking that he was way behind other kids. I'm not a competitive person, and certainly not with things that kids do, because they're all so different, but it does give me a bit of mother-satisfaction to know that he's meeting "industry standards" IYKWIM.
-
hey sasha - I was typing my post as you were doing yours, & I feel horrible when I don't do personals for everyone that's posted, so this is another post that's just for you :)
I hear you on the words - even though we've got a lot, there's still a lot of leg pulling and guess work on my part. More words might be a bit of a double edged sword though - they'll be able to tell us what they want, but they'll also be able to argue their points with us too, and that's a scary thought!
-
LOL Thanks Jan, for not leaving me out! Sorry to hear you had such a crappy day out. Sometimes, it's hard to believe people come from the same family isn't it? I have been lucky with my 3 SILs - in fact, one is my BF since age 11. Handy because I never had to go through the whole 'getting to know his family' thing!
I had a dream where Autie was about 3 and ran up to talk a mile a minute at me, then ran off again in mid-sentence. It's weird to think they will soon be having proper conversations with us, but the best part was when she called me mum because she doesn't do that yet. Dan gets 'dadad', but I am no-name 'I'll cry if I want you'. Bit depressing really.
Hi everyone else :hello: Where are you all?
-

Hi ladies
Its feed time here at the moment and i was struggling to keep myself awake in the chair so here i am doing something that keeps my eyes open for a bit longer lol!
I have finally got photo's on my totsite for you all to see! Enjoy :)
sarah- thats great that ryan was able to have such a great time and feel comfortable.
jan- Grumble away! I dont blame you. He sounds like a real pita. Wow liam is doing real well in the word department, well done.
sacha- Autumn is speaking well too! I know what you mean with boys going in to there caves lol Re my feeding issues, When i came home from hossy ethan had thrush which noah ended up with it resulting in getting it on my nipples too! so thats been a bit ouchy, almost cleared now though after using daktarin gel and ethan had probiotic powder and im taking inner health. Now nipples are starting to crack as noah has constantly been on the boob for 3 days now and naughty me got a bit slack with attachment but getting on top of it.
Nicky- So happy that your scan went well. And Yay for a pink one! how exciting. we were convinced noah was a girl till the scan!! I will be happy to give you advice if you need it lol atm i feel like im flying blind! and it takes ages to get stuff done or get ready to go out! but it is great, im loving it!
Okay im off now, feeds over and my bed is calling to me:lol:
-
Jess - Noah is adorable! So tiny - I forgot how little they are! How did i ever not break Tom? I absolutely love the photo of Ethan and Noah together - Ethan is gorgeous.
I'm not really meant to be on here.. but came on to have a sneaky look. I will try to be back later in the week. DH is on holidays with us and its been fantastic having him home. We went to the zoo and have been doing daytrips. Next week we are going to introduce Tom to the beach - he will either love it or have a heartattack!
Hope everyone is well xx
Sacha - i haven't seen the scary garlic bread ad.. We get country stations so get weird ads about tractors and water pumps and things
-
Hey everyone!!
Jess - congratulation on the birth of Noah!!! I cant believe that you have already had him.. geez time has just flown by hasnt it?? I cant believe how long I have been away from BB!! I've been handling the heat OK - I've been working on most of the hot days and if I am not at work, we are down the beach!
Nicky - congratulation on the girl!!! How exciting :)
Jan - what sort of words is Liam saying?? I actually have not counted how many words Avaleigh can say.. I think that it is more tham 10!
Hello to everyone else.. Hope you are all good. I see that there are many name changes - I must change mine one day but cant think of what to change it to!!
We are going good here. Avaleigh is well and truly settled in the day care to the point she doesnt care that her dad is there to pick her up! Its good, took about 2 months but we got there. She has 14 teeth out and just went through another lot of teething but not sure if any cut cause she has the very back molars to come out. We've been at the beach a lot lately and it is great!! We are all taking a trip to NZ in Feb. Jason's grandparents are shouting us a trip over there, I think we are going to go for 8 days. Will be good to go on a holiday and dont need much spending money cause we will be staying at the grandparents house. Umm what else? I am really enjoying work! but kinda annoyed cause I am only casual so i am not paid for all the public holidays!
Anyways, going to get off now - take care everyone!
-
Hi everyone :)
What a day! Poor Ethan woke up with a temp of 38.8 this morning and looked so unhappy, after a nice bubble bath and panadol it dropped and he has been ok since, i am thinking he may be teething again as he had no other signs of being ill, and well the nappies are terrible. His gums were feeling very warm too. Hopefully they will come through soon, he also still only has six! Just before christmas i took him to the drs as he has had a persistant cough that wont budge and the poor little mite has asthma  so he is having ventolin most nights when the coughing fits start usually anytime from 1am onwards, he is really great with it, which makes it much easier on him.
Proud Mummy moment! Ethan did his first drawing lastnight! So cute, but now if the pens aren't put up he grabs the and will draw on any paper thing he can find!
Okay how do you all stop you bubba's from throwing there food away? Ethan chucks everything and cracks up laughing when it hits the floor. For awhile i would tell him not to throw his dinner and then take it away if he did it again as i thought he must have had enough now he just looks at me and does it again! I have been told to ignore it and it will pass. What do you think?
Also just lately everytime ethan goes in the bath he will do number two's in there  i thought it may be an evening thing but he did it this morning too! He still goes in his nappy too. Does any one know why this is? I was thinking of getting a potty and popping him on it before he hopes in the bath? I really dont feel he is ready for TT yet but thought this may help?
Veronica- Time has definately flown by! It only seems like yesterday i was pregnant and now he is 3 wks old! Glad your all surviving the heat, i wish i was closer to the beach! The heat doesn't agree with ethan, he gets so hot and red after 10 mins outdoors and his eczema flares up. Glad avaleigh has adjusted so well to daycare. Wow @ 14 teeth! Ethan has 6!
Em- Thanks :D I wonder how our not so tiny anymore toddlers didn't get broken too! They must just be tough, ethan bullied his little brother again today and noah just frowned and went back to sleep :D Thats great that you have DH home and are having a good time, hope tom enjoys the beach. What did he think of the zoo?
Okay enough babbling from me! Noah has a CHN appt tomorrow morning so i must get everything ready for the boys so i dont turn up late looking like a frazzled crazy mum! Mornings are chaotic here lol im usually in my pj's till late afternoon!!
Goodnight Ladies.
-
Jess, it sounds like you're doing a great job juggling both your boys. Yay for Ethan's first drawing - are you putting it away somewhere safe so you can use it to embarass him at his 21st??
Re the food throwing, I would use the approach of completely ignoring the behaviour you don't want (ie the throwing) and really praising the good behaviour. I probably wouldn't even clean up the food on the floor until he was away somewhere else & didn't notice it happen. I'm sure that it will pass, everything does. No idea about the poo in the bath, other than maybe it's an association with nice warm water that makes him feel relaxed, and not sure how to get around this, unless you change to showering with him in the short term.
Hopefully his teething is over soon - Liam's also cut a new one ,the top canine one on the left side, and I can feel the rhs is ready to come through too, so he's been going to bed dosed up with Nurofen, as this seems to be the thing that works for us. SO now we've got 11, nearly 12 teeth, so over half way there. Makes them so miserable though, poor little things.
big hi to everyone else, will be back later tonight to do proper personals, just sneaking a quick fix while i'm at work & there's no one around. Naughty me!
-
Hi everyone
Jess, I only have Autie and I'm sometimes in pjs all day - at least you have an excuse! Having said that, I don't like it really when I do have a day like that, I feel the day hasn't started until I shower. Poor Ethan and his toofy pain. Is the Ventolin helping him a great deal? I thought that doctors couldn't (maybe wouldn't) diagnose it under 3 years. Autie kept having a recurring cough and I was thinking it may turn out to be asthma, but she was always clear in chest examinations. Then I realised it coincides with teeth coming through - she doesn't drool at all, it all runs back down her throat and makes the cough. I think taking away the food and not saying anything, just getting him down, is probably how I would handle the food throwing. He might be trying to get attention now that Noah is here, even if it's cranky attention. Could be a factor in the bath poos too, I guess, though I tend to agree with Jan in that it's probably just relaxing him. Maybe if he's fairly regular you could try bathing him at a different time of day? for Ethan's first drawing! I hear you on having to put pens away - Autie likes to draw on herself given the opportunity - so far, no walls!
Jan, we haven't had much luck with Panadol and tend to use Nurofen too. I am very ashamed to admit that Autie now 'asks' for it occasionally. :hide: I guess I could see it as good communication skills, but unfortunately, I think it's more a case of me creating a mini drug addict... Oh, but how can I not give it when she seems so miserable?!
Em, hope you're all enjoying your family time - is there no cricket on atm? ;) How did Tom react to the zoo and beach? Autie loves both places due to the wide, clear areas available for running away.
V, glad to hear you are all well and Avaleigh is enjoying care. Sounds like you will be busy organising your holiday, that's always fun.
Sarah, sounds like you had a busy holiday season. How great that Ryan was happy to stay so long with you and family he didn't know. Gosh it must be nice to carry around a light toddler! LOL Enjoy it while you can!
Well, despite having about 5 teeth coming through at once, things have been pretty good here (touch wood) I am really seeing a leap in Autie's cognitive skills this past couple of weeks. She seems to be 'clicking' in a lot of areas - almost like she is (gulp)...growing up! I guess that will be good if we give her a brother or sister, but it's a little bit sad too really. I want to keep my baby!
Anyway, enough from me, I need to go find chocolate in some form.
-
Jess - Tom went through a stage of bath-pooing. We even brought a box of disposable rubber gloves so that DH could deal with it (not me  ). Apparently if they are a little bit constipated the warm water relaxes everything and it helps them go. Tom just eventually went back to his regular morning one thankgod (poor little buggers. I wonder if they realise we have in depth discussions about their poo). Food throwing - I tend to ignore, as frustrating as it is. I did read that toddlers especially take any kind of attention as a good thing, even if they are being told off, so prehaps if you ignore him, it will stop. How did your MCHN app go?
Sasha - cricket starts this weekend (*sob*) although there has been plenty of it on tv to entertain him. Zoo trip was lots of fun. Tom was screaming "Bock Bock (chook) at the emus, "Miaows" at the tigers and everything else got "Ei ei oh" (old mcdonalds farm). He especially loved the elephants and the monkeys. It was a full on day but lots of fun. Haven't made it to the beach yet - it was planned for today but its only about 20 here today and while we don't really plan on doing any swimming - just a walk on the sand and a paddle - I want it a little warmer. Hoping to go on friday - I think its meant to be about 24, which seems good. I couldn't think of anything worse than taking him on a really hot day.
Tom is the same as Autie - all of sudden all these teeth are appearing but he seems to be coping rather well with it. And the understanding thing too.. they are growing up. Today we were down waiting to get his hair cut and he wanted a biscuit. I said "Pack up the toys first and then you can have a biscuit" and off he toddled to pick up (some) toys before coming back to claim his prize. So cute. It is amazing how much they understand now!
V - your photos on Facebook of Avaleigh at the beach are GORGEOUS! What a beautiful little beach baby you have!
Has anyone else read about the parents charged with giving the baby the ecstacy tablet?? Thoughts??
-
I didn't hear the full story but OMG! There should be some sort of test you have to pass when you're pregnant, and if you don't, you should have to do a parenting course before the baby is born. It's one thing to make little mistakes here and there - no-one is perfect - but some people are just completely commonsenseless. (Yeah, I made up a word...:D)
-
Sneaking on here for a quick fix, before I start my day properly. Work is cancelled for the day (not enough to do), but I still dropped Liam off to daycare so that I can get things done. So I'm off to get my legs waxed (woo hoo, no more gorilla land!), get some trousers taken up so I can wear them, then go & do another round of dress trying. So quite an exciting day for me really. Although I'm feeling really mean about Liam, cos he's a bit under the weather with at least 3 teeth about to poke through, a bit of a temp, and a bit of a cold, and he was reeeeaaaallly upset when I left him this morning, which is not himself, he's normally okay. But I am nice mum, cos I taped this morning's ep of the Night Garden. It's crazy how much kids love that show.
Em - my thoughts on that couple were initially " who gives drugs to a baby, I hope that the poor baby is okay, and I hope that she gets given to a family who actually know how to look after her and that the parents are sterilized", but then I calmed down a bit, listened to some more of the story and decided that they are just stupid, stupid, stupid people. More than stupid. But it probably was a mistake, although it baffles me how little some people know about raising a baby, like who gives a tablet to a baby anyway..... So now I just hope that the little girl is okay long term, and that the parents get some intensive education on what to do, although I doubt that they will.
Jess - your boys are both beautiful, I just snuck a look at your totsites photos. Makes me feel very clucky. How's the feeding going now, are you all better?
Sarah - it's brilliant that Ryan had such a great time away with you. He sounds like he's a special little boy, makes me kind of sad that his mum sounds like such a cow. How's Bayleigh's teething going?
Well, better go, must get my day started properly.
-
Hmm it would seem that two lines have appeared on the pee'd on stick!!
-
WOOHOO  Congratulations  Megan how exciting!
-
Oh Yay Megan how exciting!!! A huge congrats to you!!!
BG, woohoo on the dress shopping..can't wait to hear all about it!!
-
MEGAN!!! How exciting! I was going to come on and post to you to see how you were going with the back to school dramas and childcare for Lucas.. but this is way more exciting! How far along do you think you are? Is Daniel excited? He better hurry up and finish the house now
Jan - how did you go trying on dresses? Did your newly waxed legs just glide on into them?. I love weddings. We are going to the Bridal expo next weekend for my sister and I can't wait.
I should type more but I need to go cook tea.. It's late and I really can't be bothered. I've been on the computer too long! We have a family photo tomorrow of Tom and all his cousins for DH's parents. I made the mistake of getting Tom's hair trimmed.. He has this really straight fringe and looks like a HUGE dork. I'm sure in his later years he'll look at the photo and say "Mum why did you do that to my hair". I'll have to boof it up with a bit of product or something!
-
-
Congrats megan!!!! That's fantastic news!
Hi everyone! Been a little while since I've been in. I've been reading, but not much to add to the convo:)
I hope everyone is reasted and realxed after the Christmas holidays:)
Not alot happening here. Lachie is in full blown tantrum mode, throwing himself on the floor when he doesn't get what he wants. All DH and I can do is laugh (covering our faces so he can't see of course). I just think he reaction to things is hillarious. His stubborness to refuse sleep whilst out is not so funny though. He sleeps like a champion at home, still having 2 days sleeps of around 2 hours each, and then 12 hours uninterrupted at night. There's no way I am going to stop him sleeping so much. He's so happy and full of energy, and it gives me a chance to get at least one nanna nap in a day. BONUS!
Other than that, he's the same crazy little boy. Love him to bits.
That's all that's happening here really. DH is recovering well from Glandular fever which is great. back to work for half days next week and we see how he goes. Looking forward to some time away hehe.
I hope everyone's having a fab weekend, and those littlelies are keeping you all on your toes.
Cheers.
xxoo
-
Wow congrats Megan, how exciting for you all.
-
I just popped in to show off my new avatar and ticker (thanks to Sacha's BRILLIANT help). What do you think?
-
-
Megan - yay for 2 lines on a POAS! So excited for you, such great news. Another one that to make me go cluck cluck cluck;)
Em - fabbo work on the avatar, very clever.
-
I chose my wedding dress today!! very happy about this, although a bit freaked out too, cos it means I can get on with everything else now. I can't, unfortunately, tell you anything about it, because I'm going to be inviting friends who read BB, and I want it to be a surprise for everyone.
So that was a bit of a pointless post really ;)
-
Not pointless Jan. I'm always happy to hear an excited post! Glad you find what you wanted. And don't worry, the 'other stuff' is fun to do too!
-
So I guess everyone's going through another busy phase LOL
Nicky - How is DH going with back to work? I had glandular fever back in my uni days and was pretty much out of action for 3 months! It was truly awful. On the plus side, I lost 10kgs without trying LOL It's wonderful that Lachie is sleeping so well and you get the chance to rest up. Fingers crossed that continues forever.
Megan - how are you feeling? How's the house going?
Jan - So now you have the dress sorted, what is next on your list of to do's? What kind of wedding are you aiming for? Can you talk about theme etc?
Em - Are you on here tonight? I thought you might be due to the same reason I am - cricket's on LOL
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all happy and well.
I took Autie to swimming lessons on Monday and her teacher asked if I would bring her back later to be in a photo for the paper. I think it is a story about preventing drownings. I said ok, thinking it would be a quick couple of shots but we ended up being photographed for about 1/2 hour, doing practically a whole other lesson. Bit embarrassing really, with other parents watching and probably wondering what was so special about us to get so much attention. Anyway, DH is buying the paper every morning 'cos we don't know when it will be in there.
I have been a bit naughty seeing Christmas has just been - we bought Autie a cubby house and tunnel today. She is loving both though so that makes it ok right?
DH's birthday is coming up in March and I had an exciting idea for his present. He is right into cooking and trying new food/wine so I am thinking I will take him to the best restaurant we have here on the Gold Coast as a surprise. They do a tasting menu of about seven or eight courses with wine chosen to go with each. I think he's going to love it but I will have to save hard - it is $155/person!
Hmm, I guess that's all I have for now. Have a great weekend!
-
Sasha - could you be my wife??? I think your present idea is fantastic, if only my DP would realise that a gorgeous restaurant experience is my idea of birthday heaven - that and a really long massage :)
I love the new picture of Autie, really really cute. And not that naughty with the new cubby & tunnel. We're thinking of getting a trampoline for Liam soon, rather than waiting for his birthday. Maybe you could contact the photographer of the paper to ask if you could get copies of the photos they took, might be cute to have.
Nicky - I missed the bit where you said your DH had glandular - what a pain, such a yucky thing to have to get through. But yay for Lachie's sleeping habits at home - I remember all the trouble you were having in the early days, so it's great that he's come through all of that. Mine only sleeps if he's at day care, or if he's being walked around in a pram. If we're at home, he just refuses to get in his cot during the day. So I do a lot of walking...
The next wedding stuff on the list is to work out what I'm going to do with BM dresses. I have no idea what colour I want, so it will just be a case of getting my sisters together & hitting a few shops until we find something that they're happy to wear. Themewise, I'm looking at the standard "elegant & sophisticated" approach, so trying to keep things relatively simple, and age appropriate (I'm no longer a spring chicken). I also have to finalise photographers, flowers & a DJ, hoping to have most of that done by the end of next week, as I already have a few ideas.
Plus I will have loads of time for organising - I was told yesterday that work doesn't need me anymore, so I am back to being a full-time mum. I'm going to be looking for another job straight away, because now that Liam's settled in Daycare I may as well keep him there, unless I can't find a job, because without me having a job we can't afford it really. Plus it doesn't make sense to have someone else looking after him if I'm at home. I'm also going to miss the money in the short term, it really did make a difference over the last couple of months, so hopefully it won't take too long for me to find something. Bit scary in the current job market though. unless we win tattslotto on Saturday - that would be nice.

LOL Jan, you are welcome to join us if you can get here! I like the fact that I get to enjoy his present too. ;) Thanks for your comment on Autie's photo. A trampoline is a great idea - we are thinking the same thing actually, since seeing how much fun she had on her cousin's over Christmas.
Your planning brings back all sorts of memories. Do you have no preference at all colourwise for your bridesmaids? I really wanted a kind of avocado green (sounds ghastly when I say it) so I chose the material and let the girls have made whatever design they wanted. With so many (6) different body shapes, it's hard to choose just one style. What kind of flowers do you have in mind? Oh it's all so exciting, I want to come help!
Do you think you will like being a full-time mum again? It would be a pity to upset Liam's routine, but kids are so adaptable, and he will love having you to himself again I'm sure. I'd wouldn't mind doing something I could work at from home, but I just can't seem to think of what would keep me most interested.
Autie is helping DH cook so I think I might take the opportunity to do some reading - what a luxury!

Hey Sasha, I'm glad you're here to chat to, it's been so quiet.
I'd be pretty happy to go back to just being at home, but given that Liam is settled I'm going to try very hard to get another job. If it takes more than 6 weeks then we might need to reassess our plans. Hard to know at this stage.
And yes, I have no real idea of what colour for the BM's dresses. I'm a real green girl, but I'm so green that it would be almost a cliche, plus DF is a die-hard Celtic supporter, so if I go with green then everyone will think that it's because of the whole Celtic thing. My plan is to decide when the girls try things on, and that way we'll probably make everyone happy. Part of the problem is also that one of my sisters is very fair, the other is more olive, so they tend to look better in different shades. But because I'm only having 2, for overall impact I would like them to be in the same colour, otherwise I think it will just look a little odd. DF has suggested that he might wear a kilt, which if he does decide that this is the way he wants to go then I could use the tartan he chooses as a basis for colour. Although knowing DF he won't decide until the last minute, which isn't much help for me. But I'm not really sure that he'll go through with it, I think he's only ever worn one once, might be too weird on top of all the other attention that we'll get for the day. Re the flowers, I'm keeping an open mind until I've spoken to the florist, mostly because I don't want to get my heart set on something that isn't available in August. My dream flower is probably peony roses, but I suspect that these won't be available that early, although there will be lots of bulbs, so maybe tulips. When I spoke to her in December she seemed quite excited about my options, so hopefully there will be a lot to choose from. I'm kind of leaning towards pink roses, cos I love them too, but it will also depend on the BM dress colour - so a bit of a circular argument at this point. I also love white flowers, so haven't ruled this out. When I officially book in my dress they give me a fabric swatch, so this will also help with working out flower schemes. One of the good things about an August wedding in Melbourne is that the flowers are extremely unlikely to wilt.
And wow - you had 6 BM's - that must have taken some serious co-ordinating. The organising is mostly fun though, especially when things start to come together.

I'm here too girls :hello:- just being a slacko and haven't had a chance to post. I just wanted to say hello and will try to come back monday to do a proper post. I am trying to get organised for the morning - have to leave at 7.30am to get down to the city to go with my sisters to the bridal expo. Tom didn't fall asleep for ages so I just know he will want to sleep in! Just my luck. I am so excited about hearing about all your wedding plans Jan. I have mentioned it before but I love love love weddings. I only had one bridesmaid - it was either 1 or 7 so I went the easy option. She wore a cream silk dress with coffee and gold pattern
on it and for our flowers when had coffee, cream and pale pink roses. Loved it. I had my heart set on lillies I think but weren't in season. Glad now because I loved the roses.
Sacha - I love the idea for DH's present. You are a good wife!

ooh, I had white tulips! With lots of leaf. And my BM had a kind of white/green tropical type situation going on with white lillies and the ones that look like vaginas (cringe...sorry, can't remember what they're called. Starts with 'a'..?)
Go Green! Go Green! There was a lot of green at our wedding because I had a rainforesty type theme. Do what you want - it's your day! (not even DF's, just yours LOL) I know what you mean about having two different colours, but how about two shades of the same colour (green!) to suit skin type? Green goes well with pink flowers too IMHO...ok, I'll shut up about the green.
As for the number of bridesmaids  I had the same problem as Em - 1 or 6, and frankly, they were all equally as important to me so it was a no-brainer. Dan only had 2 groomsmen though. It wasn't a traditional type set-up but it worked well for us. I wanted to have all the girls'/guys' partners with them at the bridal table anyway, so no-one was outnumbered.
Let's talk food! What's the plan? (unless it's a secret, that's ok) And table decorations! Church or other? I am a real sticky beak. It just really is so much fun to organise things, even if living through someone else!
Em, mmmm, neapolitan flowers....mmmm. Love those three colours together. :) Have fun tomorrow. I went to one bridal expo and wasn't real impressed so never did another. Maybe because I already had what I wanted in my mind, now I think about it. Make sure you try all the free samples!

Hi there girls!
Been pretty busy here, and I've never got anything constructive to add.
DH is much better now, I think he wants to back to work Full time next week, but his DR told him only 6 hours a day... we'll see. As long as he is fit and healthy for when bubs arrives!
Jan - CONGRATS on the dress!!! It's a huge releif when you get something as big as that sorted! I can't wait to see pics. How is all the planning coming along?
All this wedding chatter is bringing back memories! I loved planning mine. Would have liked more than 3 months to do it in, but we had a fab day. It still feels like yesterday!
As I said before, nothing exciting happens here. LOL We have Lachie's 18 mth appt with MCHN in a couple of weeks. He'll probably back the poor woman into a corner and blab her head off. LOL chatter box he is. I have noidea how much he weighs... he was only 10kgs at 12months, but he does seem like he's beefed up a little. He's still a bit of a runt though, and when you see Adam and I, it must look weird. LOL
The littlest one is continually kicking me in the groin. Just like her brother did. LOL
All seems to be going well though. Still have m/s, but I get a day off here and there. I have my AN appt the week after Lachie's MCHN appt, so we'll see how we go and when they are planning on th next round of scans.
Well, that's all I can muster.
Hi to everyone! I hope those kiddies are keeping you all on your toes!
Have a great Sunday
xxoo

Oh yes, I'd almost forgotten the 18m shots. Is everybody having them?

you girls make me laugh. Just a little bit more wedding talk from me then...
Everything is at morning star estate, which is a winery on the Mornington Peninsula (google it if you like, has some nice piccies on their website). It seems like about 50% of all the Melbourne weddings take place there, so most of the Melbourne people have probably either been there or know someone who has. But it has an indoor chapel, which for August we thought might come in handy. If it turns out to be a gorgeous sunny day then we'll move the ceremony outside, but it's nice to have the option. Food stuff - still deciding on entrees, although one of them will probably a caramelized onion & goats cheese tart thingie, Mains will be your standard chicken/beef. DF doesn't like anything with bones in it, and we have some other fussy eaters so things like fish aren't really an option, so we're playing it safe. But will still be tasty. Desserts, haven't been able to decide yet because about 4 of the options sound yummy. Will probably steer away from the lemon tart & chocolate based thingie, just to be a bit more varied. Haven't decided about table decorations yet. Am hoping that I can visit them on a day when they're set up for a wedding, so that I can get a visual on what the place will look like, which will help me decide what to do. I think that I'll probably not spend much time/money on this aspect, because really, if people are judging my wedding on the table decorations, or lack thereof, then I really shouldn't be inviting them. And that's probably enough of the me me me talk, but don't worry, there'll be more in due course :)
Nicky - it's good that you get the occasional reprieve from the MS, I honestly don't know how you cope with it with a toddler. And love the idea of Lachie blabbing the head off your MCHN.
Sasha - we have had our 18 month jab, we did it early cos Liam was part of a vaccine trial for meningoccocal jabs. We had no reaction to it, which was good.
Em - how was the bridal expo?? I haven't been to one, I just always imagine them to be filled with bridezillas & the people that feed bridezillas, so they scare me a bit. But it must be good to have so much in one place.
Anyway, gotta go, some a-holes have just let off fire-crackers, & they've woken Liam up. grrrrrr
