Tegan- if you ignore the tantrums they do stop, Jess often chucks one, if I give her a drink and it's not what she wants, I just put it on the bench and say "it's there". And walk away and after about 30 secs to a min she stops crying and drinks the drink LOL. It isn't easy sometimes but if you persevere it will work, or at least the tantrums will get shorter.
