LOL Simone - in the post I lost yesterday I just finished typing "should I look out for the domestic goddess with three cherubs or the mad woman who deserves a medal"!!I will be on the 11.18am train, getting on at Glenroy. It swings via Essendon at 11.28 and gets to Melb Central just before noon. We should meet up in the first carriage. Oooh I am looking forward to it!
Bath my house is a disaster zone too - there are little bits of stuff to be put away everywhere - you really have to be hyper vigillant to have aneat house. And I have wasted my best cleaning time - Flynn as been asleep since 12.30 (its now 2pm)
I think once he wakes up I will head out for a little grocery shopping - my mothers group are having a picnic tomorrow so I need to make sure I have supplies.
Amanda, reading your posts about sick kids has really got me thinking about having more than one kid. I will definately have at least two, maybe three, and think we will start trying as soon as AF appears. But I have really thought the last few days about how busy life will be - now I only have Flynn, work and house to worry about, but pretty soon it will be Flynn has a cold, baby number two is teething, work is busy, house needs cleaning, baby number three is on the way - phew! I was having a discussion about this with DH the other day, in the context of me working from home, and I said I needed to "ease into it". He disagreed and said I should be trying to get used to firing on all clinders ASAP because it would only better prepare me for life when it gets really busy (note: this was said by DH in the context of Flynn, a baby who is absolutely fake in how placid he is, and in face of me who has so far found the whole baby/pregnancy thing a walk in the park). I think he is right though - we have absolutely no guarantees the next pg or baby will be as easy (in fact I think the Baby Gods only let you off the hook once!), and I think I should use this "lull period" to psych myself in readiness for the next stage. Do you mums with more than one agree?
I, too, wonder when my 'luck' will run out, Rory! Will Oscar turn a corner, or will the next one be a horror? Do I really want to try for 4 or 5??? I will try to make things a bit easier on everybody, though, and try to stretch it till Oscar's about 2 and a half before we start giving another one a go. By then I'll know more what Oscar's made of and he'll be more independent in play. It's a long time between drinks, but we'll see how we go. It also ties into my study/qualification plans. Simone, I have a vibrating bouncer, too, but I get about 10 minutes out of Oscar on it! The HAB is still going strong as a 'trick'.
OK, off again...
