Hi all!
I'm doing the 5 min wait for my final hair rinse - straightening my hair again, it's been nearly 6 months since I did it the first time...so I thought I'd check in here. Straightening hair on these hot days must be the daftest thing I've done in the last 48 hours (oh, and I've done some beauties, let me tell you!)...I'm going to the pool later, so won't be able to get my hair wet (packet says to not shampoo or condition, but I don't think chlorine will do my new do much good, either...) and I've got Babyswim tomorrow. Oh, well, just no head dipping unless it's fresh water! By Sunday I'll be able to take a full dip in the local pool...just before heading to a family do for lunch, far, far away from any source of pool cooling on a 38 degree day...
Amanda - good one on the walking and feeling great! I get comments about Oscar in the carrier or sling quite often. I say that the weight is evenly distributed and as he grows I get stronger, which is true. You'll have to send us pics of your new legs!
Mel - are you around, or at your MIL's pool? LOL! Don't come on here and make me jealous that you'll do a night swim tonight...oh, and I did LOL last time when you entertained the thought of you and DH swimming nekked in MIL's pool! How's the cream progressing? I agree, cortisone has its place and the packaging always says to use sparingly...some people really need it spelled out and then yelled out at them!
Mummies Group dinner last night was good, but weird, cos I met up with a good friend who then informed me (when I asked how her parents were) that her father had passed away We have a great friendship where we feel close, but don't feel offended when life gets in the way and we can't keep in regular contact. In fact, most of my friends are like that - don't feel we have to 'take turns' in calling, and get stroppy when months go by and someone's missed their turn. Anyway, it threw me and I'm afraid I might not have been the best company last night. I emailed the girls with a brief explanation and they were totally cool about it, and I guess it's just one of those things. Her father died of cancer, and it just resonates a bit deeply, a year after the loss of FIL. Anyway, there's perspective for you.
Nic - very funny about Nixon grabbing everything at the shops! Oscar doesn't sit yet, and he wriggles too much in the high chair and car seat, let alone asking him to sit still in a shopping trolley, so I stick him in the Ergo on my front for the shopping and twist him round to my back when I get to the checkout so that I can bend and empty the trolley! Often, though, some nice stranger will help me out
Bath - how's Wade's music going? Let us know how he went for Kinder today, too!
Well, I'll probably not be on much over the weekend or today - pool, then study, then over to my mum who's coming for the weekend. We have TWO parties to go to tomorrow, one in Brunswick and one locally...thank goodness I got that aircon installed in the car - sort of can't cancel on an engagement party and 40th for some mere hot weather LOL!
Melb girls, stay cool, everyone else have a great weekend (QLD were meeting up? If so, have fun!).
