Thanks guys, for your warm messages, and due to your kind wishes, I have reevaluated and won't be leaving but I will be away for awhile, but mostly due to the fact I'm about to get very busy with Uni, the course is very intense. I went to the orientation lectures today and whooo really made me think about whether or not I can do this.
Due to the fact I just didn't have anyone to look after the 3 littlies today (and no $150 to put them in care) I took them with me I figured it's only orientation and if they get rowdy I could just leave. Well they were the most perfect three little angels ever. I was as proud as punch. I had several comments on how well behaved the girls were and of course how cute Nathan is, lol. They lasted really well, drawing on paper and mummy's hands (I have the loveliest nail polish on, lol), I did keep them fed, so I think that helped. I met some lovely ladies from all walks all doing the same thing as me. It was great and I'm really glad I went. Well I hope all babies have recovered, have fun Mel and Amanda, I'll see you next week.
    ByeDee

Just quickly, Ive just gotten back from hospital where ive been for the past 5hrs. Nixon still wasnt any better by lunch time today and was more lathargic. Anyway after hours of waiting around the doc didnt say anything different to our gp, that keeping up fluids/watch for certain signs and he seems ok in himself.
I am glad he is fine but just a bit frustrating that he has been the same for an entire week now and lost about 700grams now. He did about 4 runny poos and a spew whilst we were there.
So im pooped, gotta finish cleaning the house that i got half way through as we have another insepction tomorrow and I will be out doing a tupperware thing all day.

Dee glad to see u reconsidered and sticking around.

Bath - I need to pack light this time as I am sharing my case with Marley. I do tend to overpack and bring things home that I never wore!!!! LOL about the bikini (maybe not!!!), I decided to wait until I get there to buy new bathers. I bought my last pair up there and they lasted me for years. I had to go shopping this morning while DH was still home and I nearly made him late for work. I found some great bargains at Sussan - 2 gorgeous singlet tops, a pair of PJ's, 2 tops to go with some PJ pants I already have for $65. I went to buy a new bra that can take the clear straps and decided it was time to get refitted and I have changed sizes. I was a 14D, now a 12DD. Glad I now have a properly fitted bra and it was on sale for $25 and fits beautifully. She also showed me some tips to make sure your bra fits right - some of them I didn't know! Verity must be going nuts with all that stuff and such good brands. Good to know people like that, hopefully she can keep sending stuff your way.

Nic - poor Nixon. Must be frustrating being told the same thing, but at least its nothing serious. Hopefully he is at the tail end of it and will start being back to his happy, usual self soon. I can understand why you are so pooped - at least the weekend will be a bit cooler and maybe you can have some relaxing time after you finish everything on Saturday.

I sold my Swallow Mama Bear glider chair on ebay this week and the lady came to collect it this afternoon. She was so lovely and really loved the chair. She was Canadian and this is her first baby so we chatted abit about baby things. I had to go to the shops after she left and I had Marley in the capsule part of the trolley and Chelsea walking with me. Chelsea nearly walked in front of a car in the carpark and I was quite mad with her for not staying with me and we were having a discussion about it in the shops. In the fruit/vegie section, a lady came over to see Marley and was chatting to me when Chelsea came up and said "excuse me mum, but you are giving me a headache", the lady laughed and said "why have you got a headache", Chelsea's response "my mum is being rude to me"! The lady just looked at me and said "aren't they priceless". I walked off trying not to laugh, my daughter sounds like a 15 year old! Chelsea then proceeded to tell me how good she was being and she deserved a treat, maybe icecream! Nice try! My tiles arrived today and the lovely delivery man agreed to move them all around the back and onto our deck - I don't think he was going to but saw me on my own with the 2 kids and must have taken pity on me LOL!!! Have to pack tomorrow and move all our family room furniture out into our front lounge room and take everything out of the girls rooms. Boy it's going to be a busy day!

Sorry if my comments are old, I've been at work and just catching up.
Oooo Dee! your wedding! How's it all going?? How long have you got now? Promise you'll show some pix! what a lovely thing to look forward to! and 7am is a much more human time to get up!

sorry confused - 7thHeaven you are Dee too right? do you mind if I just call you 7th heaven so I can remember you are the one with a large family?? don't leave the forum, we're all not making nasty comments so it's all ok now. It was really good of you to publicly apologise anyway, I would have emailed you this so "it" doesn't all come up again, but i haven't got your email, and can't PM you. Have a break and come back refreshed and all intellectual from uni!!

Oh Rory - of course you can be an easy going person but also a control freak = gosh look at me!! No seriously, the control freak thing is more about the environment I think, like feeling that things are under control. The trouble is immeasurable words like "everything" and "done" which cause the probs! It might be having somewhat anal careers? or just careers/jobs in general where we are used to having control and autonomy. I know that's an issue I struggled with SO much with giorgia hence the 4.5 yr gap between children LOL! You're lucky your ABA/Nipple Nazi group HAS meetings.

I was SO excited to be breastfeeding Ruby and to join ABA, and it's been completely useless... but at least my membership helps support the organisation as a whole. I want to breastfeed to the required age so I can be a counsellor, having had a baby that "worked" and one that didn't!

amanda3 - what f#[email protected]#$Kwit. bloody hell. stupid p!sspot. ok - just very annoyed for you. I hope someone said something to him. I'm SO angry for you now. I'm in awe at mothers who catch the bus anyway.

On flyladying - good ideas, I just stick to the zone and Kelly's missions. I agree WAY too much reading and I struggle with a lot of the americanisms which I'm sure are fine, but don't suit me as an australian?

Dee - I have to agree with LMG - when you said Lachlan was 9+ kg, he sounds fine. Why is she concerned about his milk intake?

ALI25- what's happening on the job front? the house front? how is Tori? Did you get her into a daycare?

    alrighty, I want another G&T.
Sorry to hear Pat's not well, and POOR NIXON! how are coping Nickers??

    alrighty then, Ciao bellas!

    Hi there,

Well, i think my run of good sleeping has come to an end! I got 5 nights so i should be happy with that. The night before last he was waking every 40mins. and last night he woke 7 times. He was pretty difficult to get settled again too. He has started pulling himself up in his cot and he loses his balance and falls and hits his head and screams, i dont know what i can do other than get the portable cot out and use that for a while until he grows out of it.
I have noticed that he has a really runny nose at the moment so i guess that could be the problem with his sleep.

i dont know what to do about this milk thing, i think i might have to start giving him another feed in the night, he seems to drink them all at night but im lucky to get him to have 60mls during the day! i dont know what else can do. He is a good weight though so i really shouldnt worry.

Nickel - just call me Donna, its probably easier. the wedding is coming up soon, im really looking forward to it!!

Mel- How funny about Chelsea!!! Thats great, they have such little personalities dont they. Hope you have a great time on your holiday. Im very jealous!!!

Nickers - i guess its good to know that there isnt anything majorly wrong with him and that he isnt too dehydrated but still, it would be good if they could find something that could be fixed at the same time. Give it time, he will get better, just give him lots of cuddles!

Bath - Great about the clothes, Verity is going to be the best dressed girl in town!!! Great to see you back too.

Amanda - People like that are usually people that dont have children or are so old that they have forgotten what children are like. NO ONE has perfect kids and they are entitled to have 'fussy' days too. you are on public transport so dont feel guilty. If people dont want to hear kids being kids then maybe THEY are the ones that need to drive or make their way around some other way. Please dont worry about it. I know its hard but like i said its nothing you are doing. Kids are noisy!

Dee - Glad you have reconsidered! I think we are all old enough to move on from this. you ARE part of the Junies!! Oh by the way i found a celebrant which is a relief *phew*. Most things are organised now!!

Ok guys, im going to go and do some housework. I am going out for a day on the water this afternoon with work, they do it every year (why do you think i went back to work at this time of the year! ha ha) its great, they put on Prawns and champagne etc. Mum and dad are coming down to babysit for me.

Hi all- I am slowly recovering from a flat out week. Worked 3 days this week, and really enjoyed it but it was tiring, each day was 160km round trip (just over an hours drive each way) but the good thing is that I might be getting a couple of permanent days at that school so fingers crossed for that.
Tori is still struggling to cut her top teeth and it is making her so cranky, poor little poppet, she has been waking in the night for up to 2 hours at a time and her fever (low grade) keeps coming and going, hopefully she gets a tooth soon as payment for all her suffering.

Nickel- You can just call me Ali, I am actualley 27 now so I might even look at getting my user name changed.......lol

Mel- you must be so excited about your holiday. There is nothing lilke finally going away after you havebeen anticipating it for so long, good luck with the bathers shopping when you get there.

Nic- I hope Nixon is better soon, poor little man. Must be so frustrating not being able to do anything or give him anything to make him better.

Donna- A day on the water with prawns and champagne sounds lovley. Have you tried giving the bottle in the cot during the day? I know we went through a patch where Tori would only take her bottle if she was lying in her cot or her pram?

Dee- Good luck with Uni, I actualley really miss studying, I will probably go back and specialise in something not sure what though yet.

Bath- I am sure Verity thought that all her christmas' had come at once.

Amanda- You need to feel sorry for that man, because obviously he never had the opportunity to have a family of his own, otherwise he would understand that sometimes children cry and sometime there is nothing you can do about it. Remember it was his problem not yours.

I went to my first scrapbooking class last night and I am HOOKED in a big big big way, I cant wait to get on and start putting other pages together for Tori's Album. After I have got Tori's album well under way I am going to start one for Pete and I with some pics fro when we first got together right through our engagement wedding, honeymoon and then start including pages with Tori and any subsequent kids we have.

Anyway I had better go, it is my Niece's 3rd bday party tomorrow and I am yet to finish buying her present. I hope all are well!

    Good Afternoon

Hi Ali: Hope you found a niece pressy for your niece and enjoy the party tomorrow. 160km! Good grief! That must have been exhausting in itself. DH and I have become so soft regarding car travel that crossing the city here leaves us feeling thoroughly exhausted. We only do about 20km per week, if that (that doesn't include the odd trips we do across town to visit friends and relatives... just our basic weekly trips: Little Athletics and shopping). Hope Tori's teething pain is easing, she might be in for a rough time... molars are usually the worst. Niall hasn't had too much suffering yet (he has 6 teeth now) ... my other two only suffered with their molars. Niall still gives me the odd bite though when feeding which happens as teeth are breaking through. Good luck receiving extra days at the school too!

Donna: Hey it sounds like Lauchlan is getting the hang of resettling though... don't worry... all babies go through phases. Even Wade has recently gone through a phase of waking up every night at 4am. He needs to be taken to the potty at about that time too ( I take him after I give Niall his 3am feed)... but Wade has gone through a bit of a fragile phase associated with fear of wetting the bed. He's been having unsettling dreams too and some times he's up and down like a yoyo. Nothing ever stays the same for long with kids... I'm sure Lockie will get back into a better sleeping groove again soon.

I'll finish off the personals later girls... am baking biscuits which I haven't been able to do in ages because of the heat... got to put another batch in.

ali - travelling as part of the job is SOO exhausting! You must be nackered. I hope you do get more work - fingers and toes crossed for you!
And it's all over once you get hooked on scrapbooking! It's HEAPS of fun (ask Nickers) just finding the time can be interesting... but it's a really cool way to keep your memories I think. And I like how you can just mount photos or write a whole heap of stuff, either way they make great inheritances for your kids.

Donna - you poor thing! poor lauchlan, he's probably wondering why standing up is hurting so much! The portacot sounds like a great alternative! and I hope you enjoy your rather grownup afternoon, *sigh* I'm a bit jealous!

Sorry (again!) Amanda3 has LAUCHLAN,but how do you spell it? I'm sorry if I've been misspelling it, I'm trying to make an effort to remember who everyone's kids are!!

Gee it sounds so weird when you ladies say 160km is a long trip...here in the country that is just a drive!

    Canberra Show update!
    EMILY 1st place
HOVALLO 3rd place (didn't really expect him to do well)
    SALVADORE 2nd place
    MANDATE 2nd place.

    Pretty wrapped here.

Hi Jess, did you go over to Canberra too? They are great results, you must be so proud The reason our car travel is so minimal is because I don't drive... the car just sits in the garage/driveway between Mon-Fri. I've lived in the country (mainly when I was younger... until I was 18) and covered a lot of miles then (driven across Australia about 7 times) but petrol was a lot cheaper way back then. I remember back in 1983 being gobsmacked at the price of petrol on the Nullabour plains: 50c a litre!!! (in Tamworth it was only about 27c. I remember my stepfather saying "just as well we brought our own fuel".

I really should make notes as I read thru the threads, now I can't remember what i wanted to say but anyway a big hello to everyone. Will just reply to this page.
Amanda - what a rude person!
Jess - great results. How's Patrick now?
Nic- Poor Nixon and poor you. How are you coping time wise doing the tupperware, keeping the house clean for inspections and looking after Nixon? Hope it's not too stressful for you.
Dee -glad your orientation went well. you have every right to be proud that's an amazing feat to have good children thru a uni orientation.
Mel - I have not yet had the courage to sell anything on ebay.Lol @ the headache.
Nickel - I also just stick to the zone and missions (if I get around to it at all that is)Dee78 - I hope Lachlan gives you some more of those restful nights, I'm finding Nathan not feeding much in the day lately and has been wanting more at night. Don't know how to go about changing that. lachlan sounds like a good weight. Nathan is 9.5kg, plenty there in case he gets sick.
Ali - I hope you get the job, that would be great. I would love to do scrapbooking did a couple of pages years ago but found it a bit expensive, but lately I have stocked up on some stuff when there have been sales.
Bath - I remember the days of 27cents a litre. Hope your bikkies turned out well, I wish I was motivated to do some baking. I used to love coming home from school to find mum had baked something. I feel I'm robbing my children from that experience. I'm not a very organised person. I must work on that one.

Pat is still sick, wheezing and trying to get his breath but much better after the other night. We were ready to put him in the car cause he couldn't breath when he threw up everywhere, he has been much better since.

Jess- Glad Pat is not as bad as he was, hope he gets better quick.

Nixon finally has started to get his appetite back and now vomitting but the pooing has gotten worse and he has bad nappy rash. Last night he was absolutley screaming when he weed or pooed and trying to change him and clean him up was terrible.
I stopped using wipes and used some diluted pinetarsel and water with cotton balls. have this extra special nappy cream that was like $16 a tube, well ive been plastering that on like cement, it seemd to help as i changed him about 3am, and by 9am he was hardly red. but then done 2 poos since and a bit red again.
Luckily i havent been too tired yet so extra care of Nixon + keeping house clean/tupperware etc has been ok. i know at any time tiredness could kick in and it will stop me in my tracks so just doing it all whilst i can!

    happy 8months Nathan.
He he crawling/slithering yet i cant remember?
Nickel- i think Donna's boy is LACHLAN and Amanda's is LAUCHLAN
Amanda- how did u go with Keilan?

    Hi there,

Well im sitting here at work feeling sorry for myself. I had one too many champagnes last night and i have a really bad headache and im sooooo tired im thinking of getting under the desk for a snooze. Seriously! My boss isnt in today, ive had two phone calls and its really really quiet so i dont think anyone will notice if i put my head down!

We got home at about 12.30 and i got to bed and asleep by 1.30. Lachlan was up again at 2.15 and then 4.15 and then 5.30 and then 7. Im over this!!

Nickers - Poor little Nixon, i really hope he gets better soon. I find a nice warm face washer on the bottom and some Zinc and CAstor oil cream works wonders. Lachlan has not had nappy rash yet!!

Karen - Yeh im not too worried about the milk thing, like you say, he is a good weight and is healthy and active so im sure that there isnt anything wrong.

Jess - What great results at the show!!!

Bath - Ah those were the days. 27c per litre!!

Ali - Im crossing my fingers for you that you get some permanent days.

Ok ladies, im going to just put my head down on the desk for 10 minutes or so......

    Dee are you still snoozing?

Did check on farm....still no crias but at least the kids sort of behaved...the 2 big adult kids dint help the situation.....DH's best mate is the manager across the road and between him, DH and the other 6 children, I swear I had 8 children.
DH and his mate ended up kicking the ball that the kids were playing with up into the tree and I had to climb up and get it down.....bloody irresponsible men!!!!!!
I ended up doing all the bloody work while they tended to the children....Patrick is I suppose a bit better today, at least I can get him to laugh.
    Talk to everyone soon
