Hello all - Amanda glad the glue worked! But I reckon a boy isn't a boy until he has a few scars LOL!! I am soooo not looking forward to Flynn's first stcak, but no doubt it will be a whopper

Dee glad Lachlan seems settling in to life well.

He has started chucking massive tantrums when i try to change his nappy and he now grinds his teeth while he is eating, its horrible!

Grrr - Flynn is doing the same thing!!

Good morning I've been a bit of a grumpy bum lately so haven't posted for a few days but nothing serious and now it's Monday and I generally have a good day on a Monday...typing like crazy because both boys are temporarily occupied by ABC kids... won't last... it's only getting harder around here trying to keep them both happy/healthy and out of mischief... DH has been wonderful, mainly because he has taken their increasing demands on board (he had all three kids by himslef yesterday) and he knows that it's almost impossible to get any significant housework done. Niall is getting really ansty when he sees me sit down at the 'pute these days too. Mel: Hope you did well with your garage sale... i would have loved to check it out but just paid school fees... need I say anymore? LOL Should know within a week or so whether DH has been choosen for the higher role *fingers crossed* Rory: Looking good there chicky Guys, this is Rory in her new kitchen that we all followed with interest last year, and yes, it has a lovely big window. Jess: Oh you're going to have to visit your alpaca babies aren't you! And Happy (belated) Birthday Patrick! Birthday Trifle sounds ace!!! Nic: Good to hear you're feeling well, besides the cold germies... we've had them here too and geeeze they are clinging around both Wade and Niall still have chesty coughs 3 weeks after the main cold episode. Don't wear yourself out girly... NOW you know how tiring it is after baby arrives... no more lectures needed CeeCee: always good to see you dropping in... yeah, don't worry, all my kids went through fussy stages, usually associated with teething... don't let them see your frustration or else they will want to explore this new reaction they are getting from you again and again and again! Verity was my fussiest and because I frowned and carried on I think I made her worse! Just my theory mind you. Love your ticker piccy! Gabysmum: Good to see you back too, almost like a bit of a Junie's yearly reunion...especially wonderful to see Emishka!!! More news of Caitlyn please! Julie: You might not know these girls but they shared our Belly Buddies journey maybe you could give them a quick description of your lovely family? Did Oscar have a scar after that button accident? Touch wood Niall hasn't had a bad fall yet resulting in a wound... bumps his mouth ALL the time with a small bleed from the lip/gum area but that's all so far. Amanda: My stomach tightened too when I read your first post about the accident... from the perspective of a carer who witnesses a bad accident I know how bad they must have felt OMG sometimes you just feel so helpless as you try to comfort them and they only want their mummy and you call the poor mummy and she is understandably panic stricken! Such a relief to hear that all is well though! hope the glue continues to hold... good luck chasing him around trying to save him from himself! IK: And how's your little man? he must be walking with confidence now! What with your mum and assignments etc you must be feeling dizzy... good to hear DP joined in the swim with enthusiasm Oh and Happy Birthday Jack and Charlie! Don't forget to drop in too Kell. Oh, Bath, May I throw one back at you? Here goes (and I don't do it as well as you) - this, too, will pass...I've been remembering that through these weeks that I've just had that aren't quite over yet, but will be soon. When you get to Niall's birthday, I don't think you will be thinking of the housework that got shunted due to tending to his and the other kids' needs, and no-one else will notice that any housework has been missed
Oscar IS walking confidently, except when he's wearing a jumpsuit - the legs are too long and his feet slip out of the bottom! Size 1 is too long, size 0 suits are too small, but that's what he goes in at night when it's cool enough to cover him up (most nights he is ok in a singlet and maybe pants, cos he's sharing my body heat under the doona. Last night it was warmer than I expected, and we spent it with arms out of blankets!). Anyway, he trips on his feet, but also the bottoms of pants when they unroll - size 0 pants are too tight when he was cloths on (which is most of the time!), and size 1's are great for cloths, but a bit long.
Anyway, yes, Emishka - none of this hit and run business, do tell!
I'm heading out to uni again to complete my last assignment and DP is giving me that attitude (the, "so, you need to do things, but you're on BB" look), so I'm gonna have a shower, pack my bag (with pump, just in case I have to be there a while!) and get out of here...

PMSL at that "look" IK! hehe... Oh and Niall has EXACTLY the same issues with clothing sizes ATM too. He wears both 0/1 depending on what he is doing but he isn't walking independantly yet... just holding onto things but not long now... Wade also had the same issues with pants now that i think about it... infact he STILL does! Little snake hips with long legs that I'm always trying to avoid that ankle freezer look... but at least he is now old enough for a belt. He needs size 2 for his hips but size 3 for length.

Niall sleeping now... Wade playing with Duplo train set (still haven't packed it away from the weekend... he doesn't usually get to play with it on a weekday... so he's being a vey good boy so that he won't hear me say "ok... mummy has to pack it away now you're being silly". Never-the-less I will pack it away before bedtime... it always pays to have a special toy for the weekends only to guarantee a bit of peace and quiet!


Ok... time to whip out the ironing board before Niall wakes up and makes that too dangerous to do.

ust letting you all know i had my scan today and found out little powpow is a BOY! we decided we will tell ppl this time but going to keep his name a surprise. we are pretty certain we've come up with a winner though!
bubs heart still may be an issue but still dont know. they told me everything was ok but spent a heck of a long time trying to get the data and had a few attempts followed by one of the doctors coming in because she wasnt satisfied with the results.

Nixon spewed in his sleep last night, the night before he pooed everywhere in his sleep. his nose is contsnatly dripping but its now that real sticky gooey bright green boogy (nice hey) he has eaten much today but seems ok in himself. just wish we could all get over these germs that keep lerking.

wow all the June bubs are about to celebrate their first birthday's, Cody is first i think, what have you got planned Amanda?
IK- thats great re: oscar's walking. we have the same issue with clothing sizes in pants atm. size 1 too long size 0 some fit some too small.

Hiya Dee I forgot to say before that Lockie's sleeping pattern these days sounds great! better than Niall's who has 'regressed' back to waking several times a night... we let him sleep with us from about 3/4am but even then he has taken to sitting up between us and wanting to play/explore. One morning at about 5.30am I woke to see him just about to disappear over the edge of the bed! he has learnt to get down properly, feet first, but it certainly was a 'wake up call' excuse the pun! Just think...if I was sleeping deeply he could have snuck off and had full run of the house! The incredible thing is that we have a very high bed (Federation style) and it's a big drop down for him, but he is fearless. He also isn't liking nappy changes much but if I can muster the frame of mind to sing to him then that usually keeps him facing my way. Jewellry trick doesn't work anymore rory But the biggest issue ATM is Niall's fascination for our ensuite toilet!!!! OMG he lifts the lid and it drops onto his fingers until he screams over and over and over again! Infact he is headed that way now.... better go fetch!

ETA: Yeah, it felt right when you said you thought you were having another little boy Nic That's wonderful, as i said last time... they'll be great mates Congratulations!

Amanda – Hope Lockie’s glue is holding for him.

IK _ Yay on Oscar walking so well. Size 1 stuff drowns Will but that’s all im buying now as im sure he’ll be in it soon although he still has some 00 stuff that fits (such a shorty!). Lol also at the LOOK – I get that so much – it should be called ‘The bellybelly look’.

Ali – looking forward to seeing you Wednesday.

Mel – How was your garage sale? Hope it went well.

CC – Love your picky from Vanuatu. Hope Ally is back into her food – it’s so frustrating when you’ve made such an effort and they are like ‘no way!’. Will is like a human waste disposal and hasn’t turned down anything ever (yet) but Oscar would live on thin air some days if I didn’t relent and give him a biscuit at afternoon tea – he’s been fussy since around 8 months and is getting worse at 2 ½!

Nickers – Glad to hear you’ve got everything clean how you wanted it – shame you had to do it though. We always have to clean IL’s kitchen before we can stomach eating there/using it as MIL has a few hygiene issues (ie she doesn’t know what it is!!) and they live on a farm so the flies can be awful (and that’s in the UK not Aus! Cant imagine the fly situ had they been here) Am envious of your scrapbooking day – how did it go? I’ve just started and love it – I’ve only done one layout so far but have made all the invite’s for Will’s party and have bought lots of stuff in a sale last week so I’ve got lots to do now. Hope Nixon’s over the lurgy soon – it seems to drag on for ages some times. Yay for another boy – 2 boys together are great (I’m biased though) – my 2 play together great most of the time and it saves heaps on clothes and toys! Hope nothing untoward shows up with bub’s heart.

Jess – Glad Pat had a good birthday. Hope you and DH find a house soon – nightmare!

Dee – Glad to hear Lachlan is doing so well. I hear you on the tantrums when changing nappies! Haven’t got the teeth grinding thing here though as though Will has 6 teeth (4 top 2 bottom) that’s he had for months and months, the top ones are taking ages to come through and are still only about 3mm out of the gum.

Rory – Love the new Avatar and glad the tiredness is offski.

Bath – You never seem grumpy on here luv! Yep – Oscar did get a scar from his button incident but he’s got quite a few, the worst one being down his cheek and that was just from him scratching himself with his nail and it didn’t look much when he did it but has left a deep track. I so hope ‘Chicks dig scars’ as that’s what everyone said when he did ‘the button!’. The duplo train set is great – osc plays with it almost non-stop but everytime I build the track for him Will destroys it. So many bits to pick up afterwards though – good plan to leave it just for weekends.

Had a nice weekend. Went shopping on Saturday and spent too much on not enough. Bought Will a little trike with trailer from Kmart – it’s really low to the ground so hopefully he’ll be able to touch the ground. Was quite cheap and cheerful though so hope it’s alright. Went and had lunch at Tranby house (V early settlement place – old farm house) and it made me quite home sick as it looked so English. Had a lovely walk afterwards through some wetlands near the river and both boys really enjoyed it. Had my friend round with her Junie triplets and 3 ½ year old girl this morning so that was nice but boy can 6 kids make more mess than 2! Oscar and Isabella played great but wound each other up to such a state of somplete over-excitement that they were completely out of control! Mmmm peace and quiet now, everyone is sleeping!

Hi guys,

What a mad weekend! I was over at Dads getting the garage sale stuff ready from 10am Friday and got home at 10.30pm, I was stuffed! Got to bed at 12am and up at 5.45am to be back at Dads ready for the sale at 7am! We had dealers trying to get in at 6am and Dad told them to nick off. We started at 8am and had a steady stream of people until lunchtime then it died off really bad. We sold just over $500 which wasn't too bad but we still had so much stuff to get rid off. Op shop will love us, Dad is calling them today. Overall it was fun to do and we got to meet alot of nans neighbours who have lived in the area for over 50 years - such lovely, sweet people. With my share of the proceeds from the sale, I went to Myer today and got myself a new handbag. I have been looking for ages and finally found the one I wanted and it was $25% off!

My GF left for Japan this morning. We didn't see each other yesterday, she didn't want too, she said I was the one she dreaded saying goodbye to and just couldn't do it. I was a little disappointed but I understood where she was coming from. We spoke on the phone though and she will ring on Tuesday. It felt a bit strange today as we have been having lunch together on a Monday for over 4 years.

Nic - congratulations on another boy, how wonderful. Can't wait to hear his name as Nixon is such a beautiful name, the next one has a lot to live up to LOL!!! Hope Nixon feels better soon. Sounds like you had a good productive day cleaning (and getting rid of the germs LOL!!).

IK - hope you manage to make the trek to your mums on your own. I agree, it will be tricky not to have back up! LOL about Oscars pants, I have the same problem with Marleys feet coming out of her suits, drives me nuts. Great job on the assignments, nearly the end of semester, yeah!

Ali - 2 jobs, you are crazy LOL!!!!

CC - Vanuatu, how awesome! The darkness of the photo adds that tropical/paradise look to it. Marley went off her food when she had her ear infection and some days she eats very little. I just go with it, some days I'm not that hungry either (not very often though!!!!)

Bath - you should have come down later and you could have had the stuff for free! We were virtually giving away things later in the day and you would have found so many great things, I know how you love "old world" pieces. PML about Niall playing in the toilet!!!!

Dee - sounds like Lachlan has really settled down well with his sleeping, which is great news for you. I think all babies love being nude!!!

Amanda - great to hear the glue is working for Lockie. Poor Cody, hope his green boogers go soon. Hope your pixie photos turn out well.

Julie - your friend must be amazing, triplets and a 3 1/2 year old, she wouldn't have any spare time!!!

Mel - I was a bit teary reading about your friend's departure and that she wanted to spare the both of you the heartache of it. Either way it's a bit painful, wish there was a way to make it better (but she's probably not going to come back from there so soon after getting there...I have no other ideas, apart from molecular transportation, but I don't think it's been invented yet...)
Julie - sounds like you had the ideal weekend - shopping, nice environs, kiddies playing nicely!

Wriggly pants for nappy changes - we're into the 6 or so month of such capers...not getting better, but probably not much worse, thank goodness. Tonight, though, I had just changed a nappy when I noticed he needed to do a poo. As part of my first ever attempt to do Elimination Communication (impromptu as well!), I whipped off his nappy (cloth, so it didn't feel like a waste!), sat him on the toilet and then he tried to stand on the seat. Whilst wrestling him back down, I saw that he had actually done it...into the bowl! Another woo hoo apart from this damn assignment! He had no idea he had done a good thing, but it was worth a shot.
Anyway, I better get to bed before Oscar notices I'm missing again. Sleeping in a bit tomorrow, then I'd love to go for a guilt-free swim with the boys. If it's not raining too much in the arvo, I'd like to see my pony at last. Then back into exam study.
Such a weight off my shoulders (but they still feel like I've been carrying bricks all day).

Oh IK - your toilet story reminds me that we aren't dealing with babies anymore - they are toddlers now!! Flynn has also started protesting during most nappy changes but blowing in his face lets him know whose boss (LOL - we have done this since he was a wee one - remember back in the days when blowing in their face would make them suck air and forget they were crying! now I think is pi$$es him off, but at least when we do it is clear to him we want him to stop - I do sometimes worry he's going to develop a complex about it!!)

Mel, I might have missed it - is you GF permanently in Japan, or just a long stay? Get thee a webcam - it will help heaps!

Julie, triplets and a 3 yo must be mad for your friend - I guess it puts things into perspective for you though LOL! That would almost be sucky, having a friend in such a situation! I bet whenever you feel run down with two you think of her and feel guilty for feeling bad LOL!! It's my GF with a newborn who is a bit high maintenance due to reflux and colic - whenever I think I have it bad I think about her lot and wish I could do more to help her out.

Bath, LOL on your base-jumping baby! I think Flynn is going to be similarly fearless - but he thankfully hasn't worked out toilets yet so his fingers are still safe.

Dee, its great you get along with your SIL - both DH's sisters are overseas at the moment but coming home to live later this year so I look forward to spending time with them.

Good afternoon Well I'm with you Julie... sometimes you've just gotta lounge around in your PJs all day... hehe, still in mine, how indulgent, might as well save the laundry...this rain isn't making THAT any easier and it's not cold enough to warrant using the tumble drier. I have been kinda busy though... cleaned the stove, sink etc... making seemingly endless snacks for the boys... Niall loves dried apricots and dates He also stood up without holding onto anything today which is a first for my eyes anyway. We were both sitting on the kitchen floor chatting to daddy on the cordless phone when suddenly up he went! Yay! So yes.. Rory, I have to agree with you: toddlers! (well almost... the day Niall "toddles" off by himself will be the day... *sniff* bit sad really).

Very quiet in BB (whole site) today... maybe the new Infraction rules have scared everyone away? (See notice in Announcements) nah, I think they're a good idea... sad that it had to come to that though. Hey did you notice September 2006 buddies are up to 53 pages? Good grief... knocked us well and truely off the "most chattiest" list! LOL

Hey Hello everyone! Just jumped on to say G'day, and haven't read all the back posts (well ok I'm not going to read ALL of them!) but I see lots of us are preg again! Great!! Just do NOT send the vibes my way!! I'm off the the gym (yeah it's finally happening) and hope to chat tonight and update my ticker pic of the ruby star who is STILL NOT WALKING! no, I'm cool with that - she finally has 2 small teeth, we are still breastfeeding (whoda thought??) and she is "cruising" as in pulling herself up to things. She can't crawl, she kinda still swims along the ground! but she's very happy and so are all of us!
My Other daughter Giorgia turned 5 today, and it was bigger than christmas!

I've been thinking about you, Nickel! And Happy Birthday Giorgia!! Have a great time at the gym and write back to us. I have been meaning to read your blog for some time, but the guilts over not using that time to study got to me, so I have been mainly lurking.
Bath - yep, liking the infractions rules, too. Shouldn't affect most members, like the mods say. At least in this forum we know each other and should know where we're coming from, so we can nip things in the bud and deal with things constructively here
As for 'toddling', I REFUSE to accept this diagnosis. Oscar is STILL a baby, despite his mobility!! I reckon he'll be a toddler when he has at least 5 words under his belt LOL! No fair to call them toddlers when they're walking, 10 months is a ridiculous age to become a toddler! Don't worry, I've been having this dialogue with DP for a while now...
Well, I spent about half a guilt free hour after my shower denuding my legs. They were quite mediterraneanly hairy, and decided that it was affecting my aerodynamics, so they're gone now.
Still no vacuum cleaner...the rug's getting dirty again...
Ok, gonna see if I should organise something for dinner. So lovely and WET today! But that would be right - my first day of guilt-free contemplation of going for a ride...and it's windy as all get out and rainy.

IK - well done on finishing your assignment! Even if it was 3.56am! I agree with you about the toddler thing - Marley is such a little baby I can't even fathom her being a toddler. People can't believe it when I tell them she is nearly 1! So I am happy to keep her as my little baby for a bit longer. Hope you are more aerodynamic now you have denuded your legs (had to PML reading that!!!).

Rory - my GF has gone to Japan for 7 mths with her husband and kids. He has been transferred there for work. She sent me an SMS before saying she had a choice of 10 Japanese shows or just read a book - reading a book was her eventual choice!!!! We talked about the webcam, might investigate more. Her DS is only 6mths old and he will change so much in 7mths and so will Marley. We feel like we will be missing them grow up.

Bath - what an awesome day to spend in your jimmy jams! It was so dark here and I thought my rose bushes were going to blow over. Yah on Niall standing by himself and good you got to see it. They are such quick little buggers and do things without us seeing. I can't believe Sept group is up to 53 pages, thats insane!!! I thought we were a chatty lot.

Nickel - great to see you back. Happy birthday to Giorgia! What a big girl, turning 5! I hope she had a lovely day.

We did not leave the house today - to wet and windy! Made playdough for Chelsea and she got to play in her cubby before the rain came. We had pikelets for mtea (with that naughty cream in the tin!!!) which was a bit of a treat.

On a sad note, my dad called today and said that my nan is not doing too well and she may pass away soon. She is not ill or anything, just old age. She is 91 this year and has been in a nursing home for 8 mths. Dad saw her on Friday and then again on Monday and he couldn't believe the change. My SIL called tonight and said it was horrible going in to see her. We are both going in tomorrow afternoon to see her as they don't think she has long - I don't know how they can tell. Thankfully Chelsea is at kinder tomorrow as I wouldn't like to take her with me but I am sure Nan would love to see Marley. Hopefully brighten her day a little. Not looking forward to going though.

Mel, might be good to hear from your SIL first as to how your Nan is. I remember when DP's aunt was very sick and declining in a home that it was a bit disturbing for the younger kids to see. My niece and nephew were a little freaked by how she looked. Now that I've seen a few older relatives go, it does become more apparent when someone is near the end, especially when they are in care. Breathing is a give away (sometimes referred to as 'the rattles'). I remember the breathing a little too well from nearly 18 months ago, when FIL passed away (although he fought it all the way, so that was not good to see). In short, instinct tells you when it's near the end and you're in the same room as the person. I do think, however, that it would be good for you and Marley to go. This is bringing up memories. Not all together sad - it was nice to be around a loving family saying goodbye to a well-loved member who lived to old age, as I've never been to one of my own elderly relatives' funerals. Not always reverent, either! Well, I hope your nan is surrounded by family who loves her to bits and that she is in good spirits when you are there with Marley
Yep, at my house today it was trackies and jumper day! Shower had at about 1pm, stepped outside to put some rubbish out (from decluttering) and the rest of the day was spent indoors. Except for brekky on the balcony until the wind picked up again. What a downpour! The house stinks cos the dogs were inside most of the day.
Gonna put Oscar down now (sleeping in Ergo), then finish up this tidying thing to get to bed. I've been promised a family play swim early tomorrow, before Booby Club...

Morning ladies,

Mel your in my thoughts, I know what it's like to lose your nan, I lost mine when I was 18 and my grandfather just this year. I think that the staff at the aged care home get to know when the end is near, just know that I'm thinking of you and your family.

IK how's the study coming, I totally understand what it's like without a vac, I was with out one for a month it's a PITA.

Nic my parents are coming down this weekend and we are having a BBQ with them and my brother and SIL. I'm going to be making the cake not sure what yet. I have no idea what I'm going to get him pressie wise yet.

Julie my DH says that chicks dig scars, lol. They better because almost all my boys have scars.

Well I decided today that I might put Wyatt into childcare 1 day a week, because everytime we drop Lockie off he wants to stay and play, so then I can have some 1 on 1 time with Cody. Also we're having some sucess(sp) with him TT. Cody is cruising around furniture like a pro now and is trying to take some steps from the chair to the table, but he gets the shakes and can't let go, it's so cute to watch.

Better go do some housework.
