Maya - campus prices are ridiculous but they have a good monopoly going, where else are you going to go???? They would make a fortune. I'm not sure who to contact about the handbook, will see if I can find out. How nice to get a lovely pic, are you going to upload it? Would love to see it. Good idea to ignore your old work hassling you, what can they do now anyway.

Amanda - hope the winds have settled down by now. Good call with the rain cover, you'll prob get a bit of use of it before summer hits as they say more rain is on the way.

Well we are finally packed ready to go tomorrow. DH as usual spent ages getting his things organised, ironing and packing. Meanwhile I went to the shops on the way home to buy a pair of jeans (tried on 8 pairs and bought nothing!!!), came home for 5 mins, then off to supermarket to buy supplies, home to unpack then pack 3 bags!!! He was still packing his when I had finished the 3! Feels like we are leaving for a week not the weekend. So much stuff to take. I nearly forgot I had a hairdressing app tomorrow morning, so it will be nice to veg out for a while, then get home, finish packing the car and off we go.

Everyone have a good weekend and will catch you all when I get back!

    Chow bellas!

Have a great weekend!!! How funny about DH and his packing!
I'm still up reading (ok, I was BBing for a while and for the last ten minutes been reading...).
Oscar went down with DP, after some argy bargy tonight that turns out has very little to do with me and a lot to do with something that happened at brigade that he didn't tell me about (you know, cos I was back at the station with the boy while everyone went out on the trucks to practice stuff elsewhere, cos SIL bailed on the babysitting)...ANYWAY, he apologised for being grumpy...WOO HOO!!
Amanda, great that things are looking up (and green!). I hope you're UTD!! How exciting that so many of us are going in for round two! I'm still reeling from round one and it feels like i"m being unfaithful to think of another baby so soon! Must mean it's just not my time yet...or just not mentally ready, one or the other or both...
I'm gonna read for 10 more minutes then bed with my warm boys.

Hi girls sorry I've been MIA I have had very sick kids and a harsh Uni schedule but I managed to get 2 extensions so the pressure is off a bit and my poor youngest three have been ill and on Antibiotics after they developed infections from having the flu. They know me by sight at the Doctors now, lol. I've never been to the Dr.s so much in all my life. Of course they can't be sick all at the same time. Hopefully last appointment on Monday for Allanah. So I"ve been no where and done nothing. Hope you are all well,I'll go back and read What I missed, not very much by the look of it.
Maya that feeling of "i"m being unfaithful to think of another baby so soon!" is a very normal first time parent thing. Mine disappeared as soon as I had Makayla and realised that love isn't a solid thing and that my love for Brianna did not waiver due to loving Makayla just as much. You never run out of it, lol.
Yay Nic on getting your first recruit, yippeee, you'll be driving the car in no time, lol.
    Bath those biccies sounded yummy.
Get well to those that are ill.
Fingers are crossed Amanda. Love the weather!! but a bit cold, lol
Well better go they are calling for lunch, lol
    talk soon

Was wondering how you were going with school, Dee! I figured you were hiding under books. Yep, I figure that the combination of needing to finish my course, assessing that it will be better for Oscar and I if he's a bit older before a sibling comes along, and that I don't feel like I'm ready to give up the 'Oscar and me' time, means that plan A is to wait. Should it happen sooner then I can roll with the punches and there will be no unwelcome pregnancies in this home. The next kids will benefit from the time I have with Oscar on his own, because, for me, I want to see him through to a bit more independence from me before the next one. Like, entire days with daddy, as I will want to be as present as possible for the next one, without having to run around with a cling-on and a newborn. That's just me and they've been my thoughts about our situation for some time
I've notified the Crisis Assessment Team of my dad's sich. I didn't even know they existed until this afternoon, or I would have called them earlier in the week. My dad's talking about driving back to East Gippsland and he's not the best form for driving, so I've called in the big guns. I couldn't find his keys, either. So if he does go, I'll call the police. A bit dramatic, but I would at least like him to make it to his 60th birthday next year! I'm going to read a bit more while Oscar sleeps.
    Catch you all later...

hiya all was gonna post more but feeling very tired so think I will nap while Flynn does
maya I think if Oscar can be more of a dad's boy that will help both of you when #2 comes along. yesterday I left for work at 7.30am and had a meeting so got home real late, at this morning DH let me sleep til 9.30am and by the time I woke F was having his morning nap which he didn't wake from til 11 am, so it was more than 24 hours before I even had any interaction with my boy. I missed him but he seems unfazed by it, and DH just does what has to be done. i thik having a DH like I do makes me dfeel comfortable to have another so soon
must go - very tired zzzzzzz

Tori was very accomodating and slept for 3 hours which was great.

I dont know what happened to the merangue, I think maybe I didnt beat the egg whites long enough before adding the sugar, either that or I stopped halfway through because the sound of the beater woke tori up, so I put her back to sleep and waited a while before going back to it. It still made merangue but it is nothing like the ones in the shops just a thin layer.

Yep, sounds like it didn't get enough air... or you added the sugar too quickly? Or the eggs could have been too fresh? LOL Also iff you add a single drop of vinegar to the mix it helps. Ah merangue such a minefield of potential problems. Delia Smith has written the best advice on how to achieve the perfect merange... she lists every possible thing. But you are right, they nearly always still taste good!

ETA: LOL here i am trying to sound like an expert ha! and i can't even spell Meringue!!! You got it right though Ali LOL

Rory: hope you got that sleep!

What a day, I second that Rory! I'm out on the deck, Oscar is running around on it (I've blocked off the stairs, I'll deal with dog poo later), I've got my porridge (yep, late brekky, I'll combine it with lunch!) and my laptop. I'm in a t-shirt and I've just epilated my underarms. It's a great washing day, too. I'll give Oscar some nudie bum time later on.
Yesterday was my weekend school for one subject, got one more to go (on Fathers Day). It was really good, even though I left the house under a cloud of doubt, because Oscar had a fever and had projectile vomited a couple of times. He cleared up later in the day and then the fever came back with the associated unsettledness and it must have been 3 or 3.30am before he got back to sleep. Hence the late start today. He seems fine again - he's in a t-shirt and light pants having a great time.
We finished the class early, so I headed for the paddocks and had some pony time - I love my horse, he's so affectionate! I've got plans to get DP and Oscar out there so that he can help me get Oscar on Dante's back, just to get the feel of it. Later today might be too windy, so I can wait till the next ideal day.
Rory - have you done your classes with Esther yet? They must be coming up soon?
Swimming on Sat was really, really good. We took the babies under water and then let them go to rise and twist back to us by themselves. Such clever little kidlets!
My dad is back in East Gippy and doing fine. I really think he missed my mum and was desperate to see her again (god only knows why, she can be so horrible to him!), so that's one less worry for now. But, geez, it put a dent in my essay writing! Gonna try to get it done by tonight, which means that I'm probably looking at faxing it to the office (which they say you can do, but they prefer you don't!).
Mel - how was your weekend? Just realised that you could check out the church we stayed in in Trentham, for a girls weekend idea. It's online and just google Sacred Heart accomodation in Trentham - better pics than I took. It can sleep up to 10 in individual beds...and comes complete with a confessional box! Granted, it houses the vacuum cleaner and kids videos, but you could get all inspired, clear it out and have a virtual confession, without the priest!
Ok, better get some washing on and some more food in my greedy belly...

Hi girls. Our weekend away was just brilliant! Who could have picked better weather, it was just so beautiful. House was great, stocked with everything. Kids had a ball playing with the various board games, kicking the ball outside in the secure backyard. We had dinner at the Barwon Heads pub which was fantastic. Saturday we drove to Torquay and checked out the surf shops and had lunch, cooked a bbq for dinner then played a great dvd game called Scene It all about movies. Sunday we drove to Queenscliff and got the ferry to Sorrento. What an amazing ride, so smooth and just beautiful gliding along the water. Spent some time at the beach, Marley thought seagulls were pretty funny! Had lunch up in main street of Sorrento, walked for a while checking out the shops and then home. It was so relaxing and both kids were so well behaved and enjoyed themselves. Marley got a bit tired as she missed her morning sleep both days but she made up for it Sunday night sleeping from 6.30pm to 9.30am!!! My lazy girl LOL!!

Ali - your cook up sounded good, did you make the other stuff too? Meringue is a bit tricky but even if it doesn't look as good as the shops, it still tastes great. Tori did well having a 3 hr snooze while you cooked. Nothing worse trying to cook with a 14 mth old hanging off your legs!!

Dee - sorry to hear your kids have been unwell. Fingers crossed no more dr's visits for a while. I hope the uni were sympathetic to your situation and gave you the extra time you needed.

Rory - has the thesis been handed in yet? I know what you mean about not seeing Flynn for 24 hours. That happens with me sometimes if I need to work back and I hate it. I sneak into both girls rooms when I get home to watch them sleep and would love to just pick them up and give them a cuddle! I do love the reaction I get the next morning when they are happy to see me.

Maya - glad to hear you dad is doing OK. Sounds like your day on the deck was fantastic, it was such a great day yesterday. Really feels like spring is coming. Will check out the Trentham place, sounds cool. We are planning a girls weekend soon, so could be perfect! How is Oscar today?

Bath - PML with your meringue spelling!!! Its one of those tricky words, cooks aren't supposed to spell, just cook good food lol!!!

Nic - fantastic news about your recruit. Well done!

Might pop back later if I don't get too overrun with work. Just finished my cup of soup so that should see me through till lunchtime.

Another gorgeous day here - out on the deck, but it's not nearly as balmy as it was yesterday (I've got hairfree underarms and for what??)! Oscar might still get another nudie run, but later, when it's warmer and after he's had a sleep. He's been up since just after 9 this morning...this time yesterday we were still fast asleep after a very unsettled night. Last night he wouldn't go down till midnight, but it was to be expected, so I'm not whingy about it!
Mel, your weekend sounds divine! I've never been on that ferry and would love to do it. Just got to get DP out of 'weekends is for doing stuff at home' mentality every once in a while!
Ha! Oscar's just come up the steps and his face is smeared with dirt...he's pretty pleased with himself.
Essay is not done, but I've written half the word count. Which means I must be in for some serious editing, because I don't think I've hit my main points yet! So hard to try to do this with Oscar here. I reckon if I can get us walking into the village soon, he'll fall asleep, I'll buy my few little things and I can get back to write while he stays asleep in the buggy.
Well, nothing more to report, we've got a few MIA's. Donna knows we're thinking of her
    Catch you all later!
ETA: Mel, keep an eye out in your local paper - a journo from the Knox Journal called me yesterday to ask me about the equine flu and she might quote me, the second time in a month I have actually earned my title of Vice President of my riding club! Not that I would have told her anything you haven't heard on the news, but anyway!

Mel your weekend does sound wonderful! We are actually off on a bit of a trip tonight - a friend is getting married in Canberra on Saturday so the three of us are leaving tonight to drive there via PIL's place in Warragul (tonight), Pambula Beach (Wednesday, maybe Thursday) and Bateman's Bay (Friday). We bought ourselves a new "family" tent (bigger than our little 2-man hiking tent LOL) and are all set for our first road trip as a family. I booked a hotel room for the Saturday night in Canberra - for $125 I got us a queen size suite and buffet brekky the next day at a nice private hotel. Flynnie has actually been invited to the wedding too (it starts at 4.30 and reception kicks off about 6pm, so nice kid-friendly hours). We will drive home Sunday and will no doubt be absoultely shagged by Sunday evening.

Maya my HB classes are booked in for the last weekend in September - I will be 30 weeks pg by then (YIKES!)

    Better get back to work......

Hi girls... bad hayfever today... wasn't going to inflict my strung-out mood onto you all but I saw Mel's post and I could almost smell that sea breeze Isn't the ferry great?! The last time we went across it was similar weather, just divine. I'm so pleased your weekend away went well for you Mel! My DH is a bit like Maya's: too much of a home-body on the weekends We are always having to do stuff separately on the w'ends. I'm sick of it. It's nearly been a year since we had a babysitter of any kind as well. No wonder I'm strung out. Got a bad case of the CBF's today (couldn't be f*cked) even hanging out the nappies in the glorious sunshine isn't cheering me up! Oh maybe it's the full moon's fault... we've all been sleeping poorly around here over the past week. So tired. Last night I just stood beside my bed not knowing what to do. Niall was sprawled all over my side... DH was out-of-it...and I was sooo hot! Maybe i'm menopausal! because DH and I are having major battles in the bed over coverings. He is a cold frog and drapes his thick dressing gown over his side of the doona whilst I am wanting to kick the whole bloody thing off me. DH says he is cold BUT he radiates so much HEAT I just can't bear to be next to him. I need to feel a little cool before I can drift off but all DH wants to do is snuggle up and "suck my warmth". If the night is below 10 he insists on the central heating being on all night but I can't stand it... I wake up with really dry sinuses and a sore throat. DH rarely drinks water why doesn't this happen to him??? I drink all bloody night and it still happens. Maybe I have some disease *sigh* oh i don't know but the idea of having my OWN bed so i can get some sleep is just soooo appealing right now.... time for coffee.

Before I go: been thinking of Dante too Maya... the Equine virus has been reported near Tamworth too... tried to call my step mum as she has race horses... haven't been able to get in contact with them... I hope they aren't stuck in some lock-down somewhere!

Oh, Bath, I had the irrits last night, too! Not with DP, but just felt crap. Oscar was sucking away (which I normally love), I was hot, my belly was churning, my body aching (no idea why) and I just wanted to be outside of my body. Can't explain it properly (I just felt 'yuck'), but I was so relieved to wake up and realise it was nearly 9am that I practically jumped out of bed, even though I am really tired! Might have to down a 'V' drink to get me through the rest of the day - got an essay to finish and a meeting in Lilydale...throw in an aromatherapy party on the way home from that!
I'm going to visit a friend tomorrow whom I haven't seen since December - he works from home and his wife has the day off. I love them to bits and can't wait to catch up.
I am SOOOOO sick of the junk mail coming to my email inbox! Most of it is coming via my webmail that I have forwarded to my home account, but a couple of them have come addressed to my home account...I NEVER use my home account online, so how did they get this?? I'm so annoyed.
Done more work on my essay, it's not going to be great, but I wonder how many will actually get an ace mark...being that it's due before we've even had a class, unlike the on-campus people who have their weekly classes. Oh, well.
Back to it before the little mite wakes...
