Mel you asked if you will get sand all over the house. YES YES YES you will and in your bed and anywhere they can put it. my kids had a sand pit in the last house we had ( in Darwin ) and we found that when is rained it turned to slop, and then if you dont cover it you have all the neighbourhood cats using it as a toilet. But that said they did love it.

julie - how oscar's head that glue is great! it amazise me how the dont even seem to have a sore head the next day, I know I would.

Bath - how wonderful that you FIL feel like he can talk to you I think when I get to that stage in life I would love to know that there would be someone willing to listen to what I want and need to say even it is about moving on, as alot of people just tell them to stop talking like that.

dont you just love baby kiss's wish you could keep them forever, Kai has been giving kiss for a while now and when she does I always say "love you" so now when she gives me a kiss she will say something ( baby talk ) so I like to believe it "love you", today I went around to a friends house and the whole time I was there kai was eaither crying or giving me kiss's to stop me talking. like I have said before she is a very jelious( sorry cant spell to save my self ) little girl. I think she too maybe getting teeth not that I can get a look in as I am also too scared to get my fingers too close.

Well DH is home tommorrow and as we are still on school holidays DS has got lots of thing he want to do with him. he really does miss his dad alot.

one for DH's work mate is going to give him a number for a job that fly in and out of melb when he gets back to work so fingers crossed.

OK, more procrastination on my part!
Julie- wow, what a scare! I admit to feeling ill reading about your Oscar's capers, so you did very well!
Mel - I never even thought about that side effect of sandpits! And thanks, Tali, for the tip about covering it...wouldn't have thought of that, either - DP will be building one for Oscar soon.
Bath - your FIL sounds like a sweetheart
    Ali - hot water yet?
I never ended up posting in the Boo Hoo room, sorry! I just couldn't be bothered rehashing the issue. It's my mum again. My sister reckons she's close to an apology, I am insisting now that she is to bring it up and ask to speak with DP and I about it. My sis reckons I'm being stubborn, but I'm just asking to hear it from the horse's mouth (my sister is being a conduit, so I only hear it from her that my mum is conciliatory). I've given so much slack for so long, especially after Oscar was born, that it's time she sucked it up, if patching things up with my family means anything to her. If I give her an inch, the ball will be back in her court and I thus give her permission to treat me like crap again. DP is adamant that she instigate this 'talk' she wants to have. I reckon he's right, too - though I hate to admit it, and I'm hating that I have to take this hard line with her. That's the SHORT version! We're still talking, though with the atmosphere of tension, because she will then sabotage conversation with unnecessary and mean jibes (she really lets fly, too!).
Ok, gotta clean a kitchen and get back to an assignment - the boys are in bed and the dogs need kicking out...

Bath - it must be so sad when you lose a spouse, esp one you have spent many, many years with. He sounds like a very dignified man and how great that he can talk to you about those things, must be a weight off his mind.

Tali - I think I am coming to terms with having sand in the house!!! I am a bit of a neat freak inside and I will just have to have a dustbuster handy to suck it all up. My GF has a great sand pit with a cover her DH made. Will definately make sure it has a cover - don't want any cat poo in it lol!!! Kai sounds so funny and what a good way to get your attention, keep kissing mum! How nice to have DH back for a while and hope the kids get to do some fun things with him. Good luck to him with the possibility of a new job.

Maya - wish I could give you some words of wisdom but I am definately not the person to be asking mother advice. I have no relationship with my mum and haven't for nearly 10 years (and don't intend to either!), but you sound like you have a plan worked out and you should stick to it. Why do they make things so hard, life is meant to be easy isn't it? I hope you stick to your guns and things work out. How is the course going, are you still enjoying it?

Had to do all my washing tonight and its windy outside, so took my clothes horse out there and hopefully will be dry by the morning. Got food shopping to do tomorrow so don't want to spend my day washing!
