Hi all!
Getting back to normal here, sort of, after a VERY long weekend! We left for Swan Hill on Friday morning and returned on Tuesday evening - it was the Urban Fire Brigades State Championships and it was a great weekend.
Just got back from Mini Maestros with Oscar - his third time and he is still not coming out of his shell...Oscar! Not coming out of his shell! You read right - he clings to me and I've never been so cuddled by him. He seemed a little more open to it today - he doesn't hate it or he'd cry, he's just sussing everyone out and wondering what it's all about. I'd like him to continue it, but I might also try kinder gym and do the one he enjoys more. Now...to find the time!
Jas - so glad your doc has said things look fine, no need to have one more thing to worry about!
Kel - great to see you back! And to read your plans for more kidlets :)
Bath - fantastic news about not having to wean! Yesterday I got a call about a course that I had wanted to do (it's a CFA thing), but requires a weekend away near Ballarat...the organising person half-jokingly said that I have time to wean Oscar between now and mid-April and I un-joked back that "I wean for no-one" and thought of how happy you must feel now that no-one can tell you that you have to wean Niall :)
Mel - Happy Belated Birthday!!! If I had been online at all over the weekend, I would have seen the Facebook reminder! Might have to record these things somewhere a bit more foolproof than on FB. Sounds like you had an ace day!
Ali - glad things are settling down for you and the fam.
Tali - was going to say the same thing as Jaspen!
Julie - good to read where you're up to :) Great to have your parents over!!
Might BBL, Oscar wants to dance :)
-
Jaspen glad all went well at the Ob and you got the all clear
Mel happy belated birthday, sorry I missed it.
Kel hi and welcome back, I've defineately got lots of boys germs here if you would like some.
Sorry I've not been posting much, just been really under the weather with all this m/s, I've just got no energy to do much at all, hopefully it will be getting better soon.
Cody's had a bit of a temp yesterday arvo and had a bit of a chuck and still has a bit of a temp when he woke this morning, so gave him a bit of panadol and hopefully it's nothing to serious.
Ok I'm getting tired again, so will chat later.
hugs xoxo

just thought I would let you all know that I took a test and it was neg so defently not UTD but have decide to go to the doctors tomorrow so I am hopeing he will ba able to give me some answers...
-
oh crap yeah i forgot to mention Donna had another boy in Feb. now i've forgotten his name? but i did post it a few weeks ago. Gosh my brain is mash!!
Tali- hope you start to feel better and can get some answers from the doctors tomorrow, i was gonna suggest UTD too lol!
amanda- i hope cody comes good and doesnt continue to be sick. hope your m/s starts to ease up soon for you, it must be tough looking after the 4 boys and feeling the way u do....
maya- whats mini matroes? like a gym type class?
-
Nic - MM is a music program for kiddies, there are reviews of it here on BB and classes vary depending on the teacher. The teacher in our class is really sweet and I don't find our classes too structured at all - just moving from song to song, and each song encourages a different physical activity.
Mel - still haven't found my nail file and I dont' know where to get another, as it was a gift! Glass nail files are just ace - I didn't realise how ace until I had to do something with my nails. I used nail clippers and my nails were so hard to cut! Before the glass nail file my nails were soft and would cut easily.
Bugger, Oscar is up and into things...gotta go again!
-
Julie - have a fabulous weekend away, you so deserve a bit of time away. And getting your hair done too! Hope your parents aren't suffering too much in the heat as I saw Perth had some really hot days. Are you going to post belly pics?
Ali - glad to hear Liam is settling down. Tori is one clever girl, wonder if having a mum as a teacher helps? I saw your other thread about dummies, have you tried no dummy yet?
Kel - hi and welcome back. Life with twins must be so much fun. You will get lots of boy vibes from this group LOL!!!! I am still contemplating #3 and a little boy would be wonderful but I think I am a girl breeder.
Jaspen - great news regarding the fluid. Hope you can now get excited and your m/s goes away. Enjoy your weekend away.
Tali - look after yourself babe. Are you eating and drinking enough? Running around after kids takes it out of you and you are doing most of it on your own. Maybe vitamins is the right thing. I would talk to the doctor and see what he says. Hopefully he can give you some ideas to get your energy back.
Amanda - hope Cody is feeling better today. Sounds like you need some vitamins too!
Maya - sounds like you had a great long weekend. I have heard really good things about Mini Maestros. I have two friends who have been going for a couple of years and their kids love it. Oscar probably just needs time to get used to the new activities. I was thinking about doing it with Marley as she is right into music and dancing but its finding the time. I have never seen a glass nail file?
Nic - I think Donna called her boy Cooper?
How hot is it today? Was still 30 at midnight last night. Thank goodness for air con! I don't mind being at work today, its lovely and cool at the moment.
Chelsea had an open morning at school on Wednesday so parents/grandparents could sit in on the class for 2 hours and watch what they do and help out. It was fabulous, we got to sing and dance, help them with their writing. Marley thought it was great, she was in the middle of the classroom dancing away. School photos today so MIL was coming over to do Chelsea's hair as DH cannot do ponytails LOL!!!! We are going to Mass on Sunday as the preps are involved in the opening part, playing instruments and singing. Chelsea is so excited about it.
Better go and do some work, I have to go to a work lunch in Carlton today and not looking forward to driving around in the heat! Got a birthday dinner tonight wtih some GF's, so looking forward to that.
Stay cool Melb girls (esp you Bath!) and have a great weekend.
-
Cooper thats it thanks! derrr i have a nephew of mine own called cooper, should have remembered.
Poor melbournites and adeladians 40 degrees how disgusting..... did the temperature forget that summer is now over?
Adeliad have now had over 10days straight of 35plus...
had playgroup thismorning and a visit from the easter bunny!
we made baskets and had little chicks for the kids to play with, at the end the easter bunny left a surprise outside for them all, it was a fun morning for them, Nixon crashed in the car as soon as we left.
oh no beaches is on telly girls!! get out the tissues
-
I hope you melbourne girls are finding places to cool down, you better save some of this heat for when we are down ( I know I know its june not likely ) but at least keep some for next spring/summer, Please....
We too made easter baskets and had little eggs but as Kai is young and they were really nice ones I had most LOL I am such a mean mummy... but the were mars and bounty little eggs so hard to say no and then to only have one impossable....
Well went to the doctors and sent of for blood test he seems to think it could be something I have picked up which gives you heartburn which he can give me meds for or it could be genetics( sp?) which case I could have it on and off for life ( I hope not) but there are meds for this as well at this stage I just hope something will get rid of the heartburn, He also thinks this would be why I am sleepy as well as I am not digesting my food well and therefore not get the energy I need from it. If that makes any sence...
As for your question Mel I know within my self that I dont eat enough or properly but I have always been this way so I dont think it should really account for why I feel this way now... I have aways had a thing with food I dont like much I am always looking for something yummy to eat but never find it so just dont eat, I hate to cook so when I do cook it then turns me off the food I have just cooked and I just dont feel like eatting it but I do because it there... ( plus I normally only have one meal a day I know not good but thats me.) But when others cook for me I am fine and can eat it...BHL is alway on my back to eat more but food for me is only something I eat because I know I have to stay alive not because its something I really like to do... But the thing is get me into a shopping centre then I will the first one to say that I am hungery and go eat but once again I feel thats because I dont have to cook it... Cant wait to move back to melb where the food courts have heaps of choice as up here we do have much...
LOL sorry for the TMI but once I started writing its was more like a confestion so now feel I have to leave it there or it would be like I never amited it to anyone. iykwim...
-
Tali - just quickly, I have to go somewhere soon and I'm making up an aromatherapy gift for it! Please look after yourself - you get out of your body what you put in and your kidlets need you! I know you were having a confessional moment, so sorry for lecturing you on it ;) Not only food for your body, it's food for your brain - when your body is tired, you can bet your mind is, too...and it leaves less of you to give to your family. Chin up! If you want to speak to a dietician, I can get a contact near you through my cousin (who's a dietician and lecturer, so she's got a directory of dieticians all over the country!).
Have a great weekend all - I have weekend school tomorrow, so I get to escape the heat...not that I particularly mind it when it's hot, and I would rather be out in the heat than in a cool classroom! Gotta go again...
-
Nic - Beaches, you would need a few boxes of tissues for that one.
Maya - weekend school, lucky you! I ran two of them in Feb, but one was just Saturday the other one was Friday and Saturday. Hope it goes well and you stay nice and cool.
Tali - I love it that you can be honest with us. I know a few people who hate their own cooking, don't cook much but love eating out. It's not so much how much you eat, but what you eat. You can eat smaller amounts but try to pick the things that give you energy (I have no idea what they are LOL!!!!) but I am sure some clever Junie will know. Hopefully you dr will put you on the right track and get you feeling happy and healthy again soon. With the way this weird weather is going, it might be warm in June!
I can't believe this weather, its so hot outside and its 10pm! Going to be another warm one tonight. It's finally going to cool down on Tuesday and the Easter break is going to be beautiful weather.
What's everyone's plans for Easter?
We were supposed to go to Hotham but DH is working Easter Sunday and I am secretly glad that we are not going as I really, really, really hate driving such long distrances. We are taking the kids to the big sandcastle display at the Frankston foreshore on Good Friday. Chelsea is very excited. Not sure about the rest of Easter. My first time having to deal with school holidays too so I am madly planning where Chelsea is going and when. So confusing. Looks like I have all the days sorted except one and if need be, I will take the day off work. Don't know how full-time working mums do it.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. :)
-
Oh my I am so sorry for all that dibble the other day  must have been something in my water...
Hope all you melbourne girls are coping with the heat!!! its been so bad down there ATM, How are you coping Bath I know that you dont go to well in this weather I hope you have been finding somewhere cool to relax....
Well My sister asked me to be her Bridesmaid at her wedding next year!! which I of couses said yes, but now that means poor BHL will have to deal with the kids( just Zayden and Kailaia as Mayleaka is a flower girl so will be with me) at the table on his own as I wont be there to help out ( kinda happy about that too LOL less stress ) But he will be on the table with the rest of my family so I am sure they will help him if needed. But I will be over at his table unless I am eating or when its speach time... But this means that I diffenetly wont be TTC #4 until after Jan now as I have to able to fit into a dress... I know that we normally take about 4mth up to 2 years to fall but now I have a fear that I will have my 1st pill baby!!! I know what ever happens, happens and my sister wouldnt care ( I hope ) But I dont want to be pregnant as I am sooooo sick the whole time so that wouldnt be a nice way to spend a wedding, in the loo....
where's Jess did she get that job?
-
Tali - I bet you would look radiant all preggy in a bridesmaid dress! I wouldn't worry about putting off pg for a wedding - go with it ;)
Mel - a glass nail file is the bees knees. I really miss it...still not found. Tonight I've had to use my metal file - it's better than most, but since using the glass one, it's such a dud. It takes longer to file nails and it's such a rough guts job in comparison. I've looked it up on Google and you can buy them online for about $10 plus postage :( OR, I could buy a retail display and sell them on BB, keeping one for myself! Will have to find out where my GF got mine for me...I'm desperate.
Fan's on in the bedroom and my laptop has been getting so hot! I cooled down in my parents' pool today with Oscar - his lips went blue but he kept jumping in to me. Really, I don't mind this weather!
Oscar had his first separation from me at the childcare centre. He cried for about 10 minutes then he moved on and was playing in the sand...then he didn't want to leave! I'm happy he likes it there... my studies are slowly getting back on track. Mel - my WES was ok, distressing as usual re: expressing facilities (lack thereof). I'm so sick of it.
Crap, Oscar's awake, will post tomorrow!
-
just a quick one BHL might be getting a job the keeps him HOME!!!! ( when we are in Melbourne )
 Not a sure thing yet but I live in hope....
Maya - I wouldnt really let the wedding stop me from TTC but I still want Kailaia a bit older before we start to try... I really like my 3 yr gaps and would like a 3.5 to a 4 yr gap this time as it will be my last so would love to be able to enjoy baby time when the older crew are at school/ kiddy, iykwim....
-
Tali - don't ever apologise. We all do our fair share of ranting and what better way to get something off your chest. How fantastic about DH's job, you won't know yourself having him home every night. Fingers crossed for you.
Maya - I will google the nail files to see what they look like. Got this picture in my head which is probably so way off LOL!!! I am so glad to hear Oscar enjoyed his first day at care. Must be a relief for you. Seriously, I think they have more fun there than at home. Were you at Caulfield for weekend school? I heard they had no air-con. That would have been awful. If you had them here, you could have my office for expressing, which is prob a bit nicer than what they give you. Its so disappointing that they don't get with the program on this.
Best get back to work.
-
Tali - I know exactly what you mean, then! Same here, I want to go for an age gap greater than two and a half years (DP thinks that's crap, but he's not the one putting out all the time!!), so it's not really my uni path that's getting in the way.
Hung out with the girls this morning and had a good vent about DP. Still, I can't help but feel that I must come across as really bitter, cos they're friends with both of us. They do know where I'm coming from, though, which helps. I'm not bitter, just fed up with a few things!
Gotta help out with this house now, so I might be back later :)
ETA: just saw your post, Mel (bit slow off the mark!) - yep, no aircon at Caulfield...even after we were supposedly moved to a cooler room. It was horrible cos I can't think straight when it's hot (I can 'do' things in heat, just can't think!) and I hadn't done the reading, to top it off! Next semester might be at Clayton. I'm so sick of it and it really enhances the "why am I doing this" that reverberates through my head all day long on those days. I did befriend another student who wondered the same thing and will be giving Susan a call to manage her study load better - crazy lady was thinking of doing 3 units in one semester!! And she has TWO kids!
Glass nail file - bees knees, let me say it again! My friend who gave it to me works at a jewellers and she can get me another one (she gets them at cost price plus 10%, which is about $6 cheaper than retail off the web or in a chemist!). They're from the Czech Republic, and you're nails will thank you once you start using one.
-
Yes, I should be working but have been googling glass nail files - thanks Maya LOL!!!! They look fantastic, didn't realise there were so many sites selling them. Wonder if they are sold in any shops or chemists? One site had heaps of different ones, coloured, etched, even ones with bling!!!! Might need to get one myself, not that my nails are long.
Maya - must have been so hard concentrating in the heat. I think the mind is the first to go when it gets too hot. 3 units in one semester, is she nuts! So glad you convinced her otherwise. I had a couple of students wanting to finish early and do 3 units and I talked them out of it. My view is, its not worth rushing it just to finish. You pay alot of money for it, so rushing isn't going to give the best results. Thankfully they listened.
Leaving in 5 mins so better flyl!
-
Hi girls sorry such a long time between posts for me!
First up, WELCOME BACK KEL!! So good to see you :)
Maya I just read your post about DP and BF - I hope you can come to some resolution with him. Is he working ATM? Maybe he feels al little put out about the time you spend with Oscar? One thing I know - don't get on the resentment bandwagon with your DP - it is a real killer. I am only just starting to get off mine with DH, much to my discredit I kept it going for too many years.
Tali it is not dribble at all - we all have bad days. and hellloooo Facebook buddy :)
Mel I love your long posts :)
Howdy to Jaspen, Amanda (how DO you manage with 4!!!) and Nickers.
Well this was gonna be a big long post but I am just so busy - I am working 2 days a week and am about to ramp up to 3 next week with a view to being full time by June - better go Olllie is crying
-
All this talk of a glass nail file I want one too!!!! LOL my nails are only ever good when I am pregnant Its one of my early signs but I never realise until after I know Im pregnant then I look at my nail and think yep they are nice and hard and long ( maybe with my 4th I will notice beforehand:doh:) So let me know where you get them from so I will have to go find one... I am using polish ATM but it always fakes off...
Whats everyone doing for easter this weekend we arent doing much might go up to the tablelands and check out the waterfalls as they are all in full flo...
May has a easter hat parade tommorow she is very excited about it they have made their own hats and have made jelly for all the mummy's and daddy's to eat ( yeah lol) but I will take some photos and put them up in the gallery and FB...
Is anyone else's junie becoming really clingy as Kai is she screamed blue murder today when we picked up BHL ( very sad for him ) she wont let me out of her sight and wants me to carry her everywhere!!!! Please tell me this is happening to everyone and not just us LOL... Dont know how you girls with little babies are doing this having just my Big baby is hard enough....
Maya - it's each to their own but for me I wouldnt want it any other way I found that when I had May, Zayden was older enough to understand that I need to feed the baby and all that stuff as he was 3 he was happy to keep playing with his trains while I dealt with baby matters, Plus when I had Kai he was a great help as been 6 he could help me feed her ( she was a FF baby ) while I cooked dinner and dealt with May or even just new to give her a cuddle when she was crying and I was too busy ( BHL was away for the 1st 6 mths so Zay was my helping hand )
I really dont know how any for you manage with close gaps I dont think I could even do a 2 year gap ( I like only one in nappys LOL) but thats is all I know and you cope with what you are given, so for me I love 3 yr gap and I am really looking forward to a bigger gap for my last, So you just have to do what you feel is right for you what you feel you could cope with...
-
Tali - I totally get what you're saying. For me, in my own situation and in my head and what makes sense to me from what I read in my journey, my preferred age gap is what it is. Any smaller an age gap would be maladaptive for my situation. And glass nail files will change your world - try Dunklings.
Just been to Booby Club and it was a nice injection for me :) I feel heaps better today, knowing I've got support in my friends there - you don't realise how important outside support is (even though I will tell people that outside support is very important!) until you need it!
Oscar smells like poo, better attend to that...
-
Hi all, don't know how long this will end up been, still not feeling the best hoping it will past soon.
Rory I really have no idea how I cope with having 4, I think I just take each day at a time and see how it goes from there.
Tali not sure what we're doing for easter yet, most probably just play it by ear and see what pops up, maybe go to a park or something for a picnic or bbq.
Well I finished easter egg shopping today, haven't got them much as they're not use to alot of sweet stuff and it almost always takes them until christmas to eat them all.
hugs xoxo
-
Hi girls just stopping in to wish everyone a happy easter as we are going away tomorrow- got DH's great grannies 100th 0n saturday so heading up the coast for that and a bit of a beach holiday.
Started Liam on Losec on Monday and we are already starting to see an improvement so fingers crossed this is the break we nedded and the poor little mite can start to settle.
-
Rory - you are amazing! Working 2 days a week would not be easy with 2 young ones. I do tend to whoft a bit with my posts LOL!!!
Tali - just google glass nail files, there are heaps. Not sure what stores you have up there so you might need to get one off the internet. I will check out Dunklings, hope they are as nice as the bling bling ones online. Looking forward to seeing May's easter hat, how cute. Thankfully Marley is not clingy at the moment, but it changes all the time. One minute it's me she wants, then DH. I must say I like the bigger gap too. I think I would go a bit crazy with them so close together. Having one at school and one at home is so nice.
Maya - i read your other post about BF and DP. I am glad you have so much support from friends, sounds like you really need it. You know you have our support too. Bath, as always posted such a wonderful post responding to you and I'm sure you are well equipped for the challenge. Good luck with it as you do deserve that support and understanding from DP.
Amanda - still no better? You poor thing. We are going light with the easter egg buying too. Just a few little ones should keep them happy.
Ali - happy easter to you too and I hope you have a wonderful time away. Good luck with the losec. My bestfriend has her daughter on it and I hope it works for you.
Chelsea is coming home from school telling me all about Jesus dying on the cross. When I asked her why he died, she told me "Cause he was young"! Love how their mind works. They did the washing of the feet for the last supper and she was one that was chosen to wash her feet, which she thought was wonderful. She also got chosen as a class captain for the year with another boy. They got their badges today which they have to wear every day. She thinks she is pretty important now, and I am very proud that she got chosen by her teacher.
Work tomorrow, better go and get organised.
-
Rory just noticed you changed the ticker photo how cute your boys are!!!
Well BHL has just gotten himself the all time boys toy a huge BBQ with wok and everything else you could ever need in a BBQ I told him that from now on when he is home he can cook!!! Yippy wonder how long that will last... But we might be able to have a roast dinner yum we haven't been able to have them in a year as this house has a really bad oven that wont heat up..
I have put a few photos of may's easter hat up in the gallery and on FB if you want to have a look very cute all the kids were really well behaved and it was good to see quite a few Dads made it there aswell ( all still in work clothes so I dare say on their lunch breaks) It was really good to see May in class as well to see how she behaves she sat right up close to her teacher and was watching her every move expecally when it came to the teacher claps which I have found most schools use, but she did them very well.. She was very happy to show off her daddy to everyone...
Well not much else here hope to go up to the tablelands tomorrow but we will see how the kids are and what the weather is doing... Kai is still been a royal pain in the bum so I am hope she will get over it soon dont hold up much hope though she is already throwing herself onto the ground so I will have a big tandy thrower very soon she had a good try at the shops the other day all I could do was sit a watch her until she choose to stop which took a good 10 mins.... Gotta love 2 yrs olds!!!!
HAVE A HOPING GOOD EASTER
-
Tali - her easter hat is so cute and looks the most colourful out of the others you can see in the background. Hope you manage to get away tomorrow, fingers crossed! Gotta love a roast on the bbq, keeps the heat out of the house and makes a yummy roast.
Been a busy few days so far. Took the kids to the sand sculpting display at the Frankston foreshore yesterday and it was fantastic. If any Melb girls are interested, its on until 6 April and well worth a look. Chelsea made a coloured sand bottle and got a bag of easter eggs. The highlight of the day was we saw Hugh Jackman and his wife and kids there. He is so hot!!!!! Looks even better in the flesh and is so buffed as he has just finished filming is lastest movie, Wolverine. I was standing right next to him, but didn't want to bother him for a photo. Not many people realised it was him, he had a beard, sunglasses and hat on. DH went up and shook his hand, said hi and had a quick chat. He was so nice and friendly and he did pose for a few pics before they left. Had a huge day in the garden today and Marley was trying to help. We would put weeds in a bucket, she would take them out! We gave her another bucket and she started to help, she even managed to get a few in the bucket.
Hope everyone and their families have a lovely Easter Sunday and I hope Easter bunny is generous to all of you!
Better go start hiding eggs! :)
-
HAPPY EASTER JUNIES AND FAMILIES!!!
Went out to see a movie with my longest-time friend (since year 10) and then dinner (just got back). We saw Run Fat Boy Run, a bit of a laugh, not really my kinda movie but the escapism was great. DH dealt with the kids... watched a bit of the footy (can't believe I've scored winning tips for every game played so far this weekend - AFL BB tips). Will be going to church tomorrow after the kids' egg hunt then to the footy.
Hope everyone has a lovely day!
-
O my Goodness Mel I dont think I could have contained myself so well I think I might have been a big drooling mess if I ran into Hugh Jackman LOL you should have asked for a photo!!!! I am very glad he is what he seams he always looked very down to earth...
We went to the sandsculpting display a few years back now but it was down near rosebud ( I think ) but it was great and really want to go again so will have to next year...
Well the kids have a seen there easter eggs ( they got way too many BHL could stop buying LOL ) have had a few eggs and are now riding their bikes like the loonys they are lol
Have a great easter day
-
Happy Easter everyone! And I mean that in whatever way Easter means something to you :) For me, it means everyone's either at home or away, but not at work!
No Easter eggs at our place, thank goodness - it's bad enough I have got Oscar onto choc hazelnut spread (Aldi, not Nutella - I still have Nestle issues!), without having him string out and drive me nuts (on a sugar high) while I'm supposed to be studying. I'm hoping to avoid chocolate for another 12 months...we're nearly two years down without a chocky habit ;)
My parents left this morning for NZ to see my sister - she doesn't know that my dad decided to go as well, so she's in for a nice surprise. My dad has anxiety over money, for the sake of being anxious over money, not cos there is none, and he finally let go of it to go and see her and his granddaughter. We'll have a video conference later, now that I have my webcam.
Mel - the sand thingy sounds great - we're heading down to the peninsula next Sunday, so it sounds like a goer! And bonus to see a nice celebrity there.
Nice day down this way - so glad burning off is not allowed on Sundays anymore!! The house is starting to take shape, as we get ruthless with things in the kitchen and other rooms. Lots of stuff going to charity. The Tupperware I took from my mum has just about all gone back (except the stuff she expressly said I could have!), because there is precious little room for the new stuff I've been getting...and I want my new stuff!
That reminds me -
Nic - I'm not Tupperwaring for Evolution anymore, I'm off the books there. I AM, however, in the friendship club at Platinum now :) No more 'distance from distributorship' issues and I can go to the meetings without having to be away from my family for 5 hours (read, away from breastfed child who keeps my boobs from exploding in the evenings!). It's a hell of a lot easier on me to conduct my business, especially when I can pick up my orders on meeting night (or swing by and buy anything I've forgotten, over the counter!). I like cheap Tupp too much to quit it all together!! How's it being a manager now? They tell us that it's so easy to have a family and be a manager...is it really true??
Amanda - no camping this Easter? Are you still feeling crap?
Tali - BBQ sounds awesome!!
Rory - I'm imagining what it must be like to already have your qualification so that you can just pick up or drop days at work - one day I'll have the option of 'going back to work'!! Right now, as my semester is slowly starting, it seems like a lifetime away...
Things have improved with DP quite a bit. We're not bickering this week, probably in direct proportion to the tidiness of the house and kitchen (we've been making special effort in that area to keep the kitchen clean). I ALWAYS feel like life is more bearable when the kitchen is workable!
Well, better get back to said housework - I'll put in some time and then get to my books...maybe I should do it the other way around while Oscar sleeps...
-
Maya no, no camping this easter, and I'm starting to have some good moments now as well as the bad, so that's a great thing.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE.
I hope everyone is having a great day, the boys have gotten their eggs but haven't had any yet, I was good this year and only got them a few, so that they can pace themselves as they don't get a lot of sweet stuff. I got some carmel kisses and fruit and nut noughut, plus some chocolate.
As I was saying I'm starting to have a break for a few hours from the constant nausea, so I hoping that in the next few weeks it will be gone for good.

Happy Easter my dear Junies!!!
Only a quick post from me as I am trying to get this house into order so I can start taking things around to mums. I have all the kids beds apart and out the front, now just have to start to pack the clothes...If you can't tell we are moving!
Long story.
After our Real Estate agent pushed her way through the house, we got some advice from Consumer Affairs who advised us to just write everything down and then if they tried anything else to contact C.A again. We received a letter telling us that they were going to do another inspection 3 weeks after the last one and we said that was it. We organized with C.A if they tried to come in we were to say no they couldn't come in and take it from there, but they decided to offer us another house instead. It's a 3 br, but they are big rooms, and its set out much better than this one! It's about the same distance from the school, but its closer to mum.
We move on the 1st April..or around that date!

Tali - they used to the sand castle display in Rye, this is the first year its been at Frankston. It was a great location so hopefully they keep it there.
Maya - Chelsea is not really a big choc fan, which suprises me as her mother is LOL!!! Marley had her first taste this easter and she did enjoy it. I suppose one of them was bound to take after me. I find things seem so much better when you have a clean house. And you are right, esp the kitchen. Having an open plan kitchen means I have to keep it tidy as we live in there and I couldn't stand to see the mess. I am a bit of a neat freak sometimes, much to DH's annoyance!!! Hope you managed to get some study done, having a week's break is good but I bet there is still alot of work to do. Great news about your Tupperware being closer to home now.
Amanda - fingers crossed that the coming weeks mean no more m/s. Caramel kisses sound pretty good!
Jess - sounds like the new house is great, good luck with the move next week.
There is a great storm outside, I can't believe its finally raining and raining hard. We spent all day Sat in the garden. We ripped out a whole garden bed and moved the plants to other areas of the garden. I have been madly bucketing out water each day to make sure they survive. Hopefully this rain will do them good and they won't die. Spent the day with the SIL's family yesterday which was fantastic. They live on 6 acres with horses, goats, sheep and chickens. Kids loved it, Marley especially liked the pony. They did an easter egg hunt, then road some little 4 wheeled motorbikes. Just spent today doing all the washing I hadn't done over the past few days. Thankfully it was a good drying day today. At work we get tomorrow off as well so I am taking Chelsea and one of her friends to see Horton Hears A Who so that should be fun.
Off to go raid the cupboard for more chocolate LOL!!!!! :)

Did any off you Melb girls get any flooding ( and here I was thinking that I was moving away from all that stuff lol )
Maya have to say I havent been that good as all my kids eat chocolate and all the other bad cr@p too but not too much and they are all heathy so far ( they teach so much about heathy food in school DS is almost to scard to eat anything that might be "Bad" for him as it might make him fat which I think is a bit sad) But must say both May and Kai arent that big a chocky eaters which is good but poor Zay cant help himself lol ( just like BHL)
Amanda- glad that your M/S is starting to go now its the main thing that makes me re-think the whole 4th baby thing but its always worth it in the end and then some how we manage to forget we ever had it...
Well we ended up doing nothing for the whole weekend which Peed me off a bit but we had to clean up the house and garden we ended up feeling 2 skip bins so a fair bit is gone, its just hard as even though we have a fair bit of time before we move BHL only hast 3 more weeks at home before we go and one of those weeks we are camping and then the last 2 my parents are going to up...So not much time really...
We found out that the Navy wont move us home which makes me so mad why did BHL bother giving 12 yrs to his country if they wont even help us out now I would never recomend anyone to join up they just dont care about the people or there familys...But we will just move oursleves we are going with U-Pack-It as they are the cheapest $ 3000 plus $900 to ship the car so we might get there for about under $5000 with storage...Now I just have to play the waiting game I want to start to pack a few things but know that it is way to early for that but I might have to go through all our winter stuff and see what we have and what we dont as BHL is wanting to take about 4 weeks to get down camping all the way so I know that we will be blooming freezing but we might be semi climtised by the time we get down there ( but I am going to make him get a little heater that I can plug in when we are in the camper )

How's this Melb weather, last week heat wave, today freezing!!!! Thank goodness for the rain though, its doing a nice job watering my garden.
For those with older kids, definately go and see Horton Hears a Who. It was great, so lighthearted and funny. The kids loved it and sat for the whole movie with no problem. It went for about 90 mins. I can't believe how much popcorn 2 kids can devour!
Tali - thankfully no flooding (yet!). That's really awful that they are teaching kids of such a young age about getting fat. I understand the obesity epidemic but surely there is a better way of doing it. For some it might have the opposite effect and give them an eating disorder. I think its important for kids to understand why they need to eat healthy food but not by telling them they will get fat if they don't. My kids are both good eaters and are allowed treats. Sounds like you did a good job on the garden filling 2 skip bins. You must have been stuffed after that? How disappointing that the navy won't pay your moving expenses. Regardless of whether you can get a good deal to move everything, they should still be paying or at least contributing something. Get out plenty of winter clothes, because as you know, Melb winters can be super cold (esp after coming from Cairns). It must be hard to know what to pack now. I bet as soon as you do pack something, you will need it LOL!! Love the idea of a plug in heater.
Just been raiding my wardrobe for some warm clothes to wear to work tomorrow. Haven't had them out for a while. Will definately be packing the umbrella and scarf.

LOVING how Melb does this - truly, I do! I have so many summer and winter clothes, I love to give them all a good rotation :)
Perfect day to see my horse after a long absence - I took Oscar (cos I got guilted, then told that it was ok to leave him at home, but by then the guilt trip had done its work...) and he kept pointing out all the poo...there's heaps of poo around on horse properties!
Tali - how crap about the moving expenses. I agree with you and Mel - terrible way to bring home a message about healthy eating. I notice with Oscar that when he has packaged foods that are highly processed (like his favourite, chips) he stays awake for longer and just strings out near the end. When we have food that is cooked from fresh food we don't have an issue. Today, he had chips and he didn't go to sleep for MIL until she called us (we were at the fire station) and I got there with 'Baboo'. He had dropped a can of food on his toe and upset himself further and just wouldn't go to sleep! I reckon his toe nail might fall off, and he broke skin, so that would have exacerbated an already strung out kid. Luckily, he has a lot of homecooked food and snacks like chips are a rarity in this house (cos DP scoffs it and asks me to keep it to a minimum, for his waistline's sake!). Maybe the next kid won't be so affected by preservatives, who knows? My active kid reacts to it, though.
Amanda - glad that you get breaks in the MS now! I remember that with Oscar - at about week 19 the sickness subsided for moments throughout the day...enough for me to enjoy Christmas lunch, I recall! Camping with 5 will be a whole new adventure - the older boys will really come into their own with their caring duties!
Mel - I'll be out at Clayton tomorrow...it will be very cold, as usual! I've got to knuckle down and do some reading, though, now that Oscar seems to be settled there...assignment due in about 3 weeks :( I WILL go round for a coffee after this assignment's in! On a Thursday when Oscar's in Swich...
I had a proud Mama Bear moment today. First of all, I had left the potty up near the fridge and he leaned over it, ****ed a leg and took aim...he's been watching dogs, it would seem! About an hour later, after spending the afternoon playing at sitting on the 'throne' (the big loo), he found the potty again, sat down, said 'poo' and when I looked, sure as you're born...a poo! I was not expecting him to pick up on this so soon - I thought I had months, at least, before this would happen, so now my kid's just racing ahead of me and growing up.
Off to bed now...in the middle of composing this I had a fire call (didn't get a truck and we were called off, anyway, as the neighbouring brigade had in under control).
Beddy byes now!

Maya yeah the older boys do their fair share now, Kailen is like a mother hen with babies and especially Cody, so I know that I don't have any worries there. Yay for Oscar, it's amazing what they pick up and choose to use before your ready isn't it.
Mel I might keep that movie in mind for the school hols in two weeks, glad you had a good day.
Tali yeah it's lucky we forget what pg is like otherwise there would be a lot of 1 child families, lol.
Well I've had a busy last few days, on the weekend Kailen brought Cody in and he'd hurt his foot, but seemed ok, then the next day I saw him sort of hobbling on it. So on Tuesday I took him to the Drs and he sent us for an xray, I couldn't get in on the Tuesday so had to go first thing yesterday and sure enough a small greenstick fracture of just above his third toe, They can't put it in plaster as it's not worth it so we just have to be a bit more careful of it, for the next six weeks, poor thing, but he seems to be coping alright and it's not causing to much pain unless it gets bumped, so I guess that's a good thing.
hugs xoxo

Amanda poor Cody hope he feels better soon.
Maya - yeah for the big boy poo!!! Zayden also trained himself before he was 2yrs but not to worry May took until she was 2.5 yrs and I have stoped tring with Kai until we get down to Melbourne... Where is the year going every day that pass's means our babies are getting bigger :(

As for pop corn both may and Zay go through a huge big tub most of it is gone before the movies even started which means then they drink way too much and need to go to the loo half way through the movie but always at different times!!!

Tali - OMG how exciting for you! That's such great news and having DH at home will be wonderful for the kids (and you!). Don't worry I'm sure you'll get it together in time. Less time to think about things, you'll do it. Have you found somewhere to live yet? You could go and look at schools once you get there, I'm sure it wouldn't matter if you sign them up a bit late. MIL took Chelsea to see Alvin & the Chipmunks which is an old movie from the January school holidays but some of our smaller independant cinemas still show the old ones. She loved that too! She is being very spoilt this week, 2 movies and she is at my GF today and off to the Pancake Parlour. I have a bit of weakness for that buttery, salty popcorn.
Amanda - poor Cody. It's going to be hard to keep him quiet for 6 weeks. How are you feeling now?
Maya - we are certainly getting a good rotation of clothes lately LOL!!! Definately coat and scarf today. Bloody freezing this morning. Its fantastic that Oscar is settling in well to daycare. Makes study for you a bit easier to know he is having lots of fun. Let me know when you are coming over for coffee, would love to catch up. You have every right to have your proud Mumma Bear moment, that's so clever of Oscar. Who would have thought poo would bring so much joy LOL!!!! Out of all the phases of baby/toddler, I hated TT. I am not a very patient person so it really did my head in. I am hoping Marley is different. She pulls at her nappy when she has done a poo, so that is a good sign. Chelsea would have stayed in a pooey nappy all day, never bothered her. I'm sure he's on the right track though. Such grown up things they are doing now. Bit sad really :(
I have a wedding to go to next weekend and I finally found a dress to wear. I rarely wear dresses, more of a pants girl. But a special ocassion means a special dress. Got a beautiful black dress which has cream satin underneath and overlayed with a thick lace. I love it and I had a friend come with me for her opinion as she is very honest. I needed new shoes (of course!) and they had a 50% off the second item. Bonus! Got the outfit for $220 which was fantastic and the shoes are divine and I will be able to wear them to work too.
Better go do some work.

Hi All,
sorry i have been off the radar a bit but we have some exciting news!! No not pregnant, but we bought a house!! Im so excited. the pest/building inspects get done Mon/Tues so fingers crossed.
Its in the area my DH has longed to get back into and it is a lovely place just thought we would never afford.
FIl is going to kind of live with us, the house has two entries and the wall is knocked out but we will close it back up and its like a granny flat, so he has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, lounge/dining and porch.
we have 3 bedrooms.
The house has only ever had 1 owner. Sadly the husband passed away unexpectidly just last month. The wife needs help around so has bought a villa up in Newcastle to be close with family. So for her money isnt really the key and we got it at an awesome price.
It was such a spontaneous buy, the RA rung DH on Thurs night and told us about this house and the proce reduction, we went on Friday and made an offer there and then, they accepted we signed the docs and its sold!!
as all of this was happening there was another open and lots of ppl came to look! So i feel we got lucky.... we have lots of big ideas on what we would like to do, some of it b4 we move in some of it over time. either way finally we can work on something that is ours and settle in an area we want the children to go to school, sport and grow up in.
Today we took all the family through to have a look.
The place is 60yrs old but immaculant. even under the house there is not a drop of dirt.
oh and other exciting news Tyron can kinda sit! he isnt too stable yet but he puts his hans out infront of him and can balance for a little bit! He even got game and grabbed for a ball and didnt topple over lol
Amanda- Poor cody. that will be a hard task keeping him off it as mcuh as possible for 6 weeks. any plan of attack there?
Maya- wow Oscar! its funny i came in here and read this tonight because i actually attempted to get Nix to poo in the potty but no go. Ive been talking to him about thwe toilet for a while now, where the wee's and poo's go etc Late this afternoon i took his nappy off and remembered he had not pooed for the day. So i thought i'd be game and see what happened. I brought the potty from the bathroom where it has always been, into the loungeroom and told him he can sit on it to do wees and poos. He sat on it but nothing.
Then he took himself to the bathroom, came out and said weeeee!!
so i went and had a look and he weed in the bathroom, silly mummy took the potty away from where he was used too. But i looked down and saw a tiny nugget! Knowing a poo was inevadable i attempted for him to sit on the potty and the toilet, but nothing. Gave up in the end and put his nappy on. Within minutes of the nappy going on he pooed! So i think he still thinks this is where poo goes. I never expected him to pick up on it yet but its worth trying every now and again!
Mel- look forward to seeing a pic of you all dolled up! Im a pants girl too but felt so fantastic to wear a dress recently at a wedding we went to!
Tali- you sound like me last year! It was April last yr DH had to come back to Sydney and start working and in May when Nix & I came up, far out a year goes quickly!
I've had lots of friends announce their pg news recently its an excting year! a few of them have been trying for a long time so its just the best news. (One couple 7yrs)
