Hi all, just checking in while I have a few moments to myself.
Nic- Great news about the house, you must be just stoked.
Mel- Gotta love a bargin hey! I have a wedding in August and I told myself i would buy a dress to wear (I never wear dresses but thought I would make an effort) hopefully I can find one I like.
Tali- You must be stoked about moving back to Melb, sounds like it will be a bit of a rush, but hopefully once you are moved and settled it will be well worth it all.
Amanda- Poor Cody, he has been in the wars a bit lately hasnt he. I hope he recovers quickly. I hope the your m/s is easing up now and you are feeling better.
Maya- Woohoo for Oscar going to poo on the potty that is a huge step- Tori is getting towards being ready for toilet training, just need to wait untill Liam is a bit more settled so I can devote the appropriate amount of time to it.
Bath- I hope that you are feeling better and starting to regain some of your energy.
We have made HUGE leap with Liam this weekend, his Losec is working a treat and we have started getting him to settle to sleep in his cot instead of in our arms because each time we put him into his cot he would wake up so I was spending ALL day everyday settling him to sleep. Now he is sleeping up to 2 hours at a time, and if he does stir I just need to go in and put his dummy in and give him a quick pat.
I am off to see 2 friends today who had babies this week, 1 on Thurs, 1 on Fri- Luckily they are in the same hospital. My friend who had her baby on Thursday actualley had undiagnosed Pre-eclampsia and had eclamptic fits on Weds night and got rushed to hosp in an ambulance and had to ahve an emergency c-sect under a general anaesthetic- thankfully she is doing ok now, and the baby is great, luckily she was lready 38 weeks preg.
Anyway I have heaps of jobs to catch up on now that Liam actualley sleeps during the day. I hope everyone is keeping well.

Good afternoon Girls :) Just a quick one... having a big baking day (details in Lulu's baking thread in the food forum) and need to get the kitchen cleaned up... but just wanted to say that my energy levels are way up after having my first accupuncture session yesterday! It's either that or the cooler weather or the medication is starting to work! I really feel so much better! Also Julie's new avvy has been loaded with her new bump... hope to hear from her soon! Will hopefully get back in here later after my baking tornado has been cleared away!
-
hi all planned to type more but ollie is teething so i am typing one handed. suffice to say hello all and keep up the posts - i really enjoy hearing what you are all up to:)

Nice one, Julie! Glad you're feeling the little one -I miss those flutters! Will have to have a word with my ovaries and tell them not to mind Oscar's feeding ;)
Amanda - have you felt movements yet? Sorry if I've missed you saying that you have!
Nic - congrats on the house!! I saw that in your Status for Facebook - good work! It's been a long time coming, chicky :)
Rory - must be busy with work and the boyos! It's great to see you dropping in :) Do it more often, even if it's just one line!
DP is trying to put Oscar to bed and there is one little upset boy in there. He just wants to wander in and out of that room till he finally falls asleep at the boob. I don't mind doing that (I take a book with me and read that while he crawls over me and eventually falls asleep), but DP has got it into his head that he needs to force the issue. I hate listening to Oscar scream, although I do know that he's with his Daddy and all he has to do is accept Daddy's snuggles. He's going to have to in a few weeks' time when I'm not here :(
Oh, another poo win - he's been weeing in the potty pretty consistently when his nappy is off (yes, even though it's been cold, I keep his top half warm and let his bottom half naked - he's quite happy with this arrangement!) and tonight, when we got back from visiting, he sat on the potty and wee'd - not even in front of us, just went round the corner and did it. Then, I was filing my nails (have glass nail file! My missing one was found and I got another from my GF) when I realised Oscar was getting up from the potty...and there it was! So, that's twice in one week...slowly but surely. (Update: all is quiet in the bedroom, I think a little boy succumbed to Daddy arms) I'm chuffed more so because it is so unexpected for him to just initiate his TT. (Update: kidlet's asleep)
Well, while the boy's asleep, might pack for tomorrow and do some more tidying in one of these rooms (it's all in a state of flux!).
night!

Hey ladies
Well, just a quick note from me while I'm allowed to use the internet. We have moved into the new house and OMG I am so in love with my view! Haven't got the cash to move the broadband over yet, but at least i have Dial up.
The 4 older kids come home this weekend and I am hoping they love this place as much as I do. The littllies absolutely adore running in and out of the house and I actually forgot what it was like to have a heater that actually warms the whole house until now!
Haven't got time for a lot of personals but,
MAYA- Congratulations of Oscar learning to use the potty, I have finally got Bella using the toilet, but Pat is a long way away from even trying to go on the toilet.
JULIE- I remember feeling those first kicks, they are magical aren't they?
RORY- Poor little Ollie, I think Pat must be getting some more teeth, he is drooling something shocking atm.
BATH- How did the baking Day go??
ALI- Yay for Liam's sleeping! All my kids have been pretty good sleepers except Bella.
NIC- Congrats on the house hun!
MEL- The dress sounds gorgeous! I'd love a look at it!
Anyway, that's all the time I have for now!
Hugs to all our little toddlers
Jess
-
Nic - congratulations babe!!!!! That's brilliant news. It was obviously meant to be. When is settlement? You must be dying to get in there and start making it feel like your own. Tyron is getting clever sitting up. The new pics on Facebook are so cute. You have been blessed with 2 very cute little boys.
Ali - fantastic news that the Losec is working. It must feel great to have him go to sleep in his cot (give your arms a rest anway!). Hope you find a nice dress for the wedding. I feel alot more dressed up when I wear a dress (it's a very rare thing for me to buy a dress, pretty much like you).
Bath - glad to hear the acupuncture has helped you. I've heard lots of positive stories of how it has helped all sorts of conditions. How did the rest of your baking day go? What other yummy treats did you cook up?
Rory - good to see you pop in. Can't believe Ollie is at the teething stage already, where has the time gone?
Julie - how exciting to feel the kicks. They are such beautiful moments (except when they happen at 3am LOL!!!). Hope you parents have had a great time in Oz.
Maya - how cool you found your nail file and have a spare! Glad to hear DP managed to get Oscar to sleep. How unreal you got another poo! Way to go Oscar!!!!
Jess - glad you can atleast use Dial up, even if it does take forever. The house sounds great, you must be so happy (and warm!!!). I'm sure the older ones will love it too.
Marley had a bit of crash this afternoon. We have 6 stairs coming off our deck and she has mastered them pretty well with no falls so far. Today she was going down (she wriggles onto each step with her bum) and must have got her foot stuck and tumbled down about 3 of them and bumped her head when she got to the bottom. Poor thing was very upset and DH was here, but she didn't want a bar of him, just her Mummy. We put an icepack on her forehead, which she didn't like at all and now has a nice bruise there. Both girls were having so much fun outside until that happened. She didn't really want to go out again. Meeting some friends at a playcentre tomorrow so the kids can run wild!
Hi to everyone else and hope you are all happy and well :)
-
Gee we are all so quite ATM but with some of us on school hols its understandable we dont start until friday...
Well BHL has now found out that his new job is in Epping but I have been told by almost everyone thatr Epping is not a place to raise children, so now we are looking at maybe renting a house around Ringwood, I kinda know the area but it been such a long time sence I live that way I have know idea where the good and bad parts are. But with 2 of my sisters living in Kilsyth I am happy that I will be fairly close to them... Does and one know about the schools in this area? Once we have defently decide that, that is the area we are going to go I will have to yet again post a question for all the melbourne girls to kindly answer ( I am sure they would be getting sick of seeing my name under the renting threads lol not too much longer I hope!!!)
So we will be leaving here on the 1st of May ( as school photos are going to be on the 30th of April so just have to get them done before we go ) and hope to be there by the 8 th of May as BHL has to start on the 12th my sister has kindly said that BHL can stay with her of the week so that he doesnt have to travel 2 hrs to works each day while we are at my parents house which is great...
Now I just have to hope and prey theat we can find a place that will rent to us :crossfingers: just wish they would rent to you without us having to go there to have a look at the house 1st....
Sorry gotta go Kai is very smelly and Bold is on
-
Tali - Ringwood has so many schools in the vicinity it's not funny! Ringwood East and North are nice areas now - near Croydon North can be nice, as can the parts on the way to Warrandyte. There are heaps of renovated weatherboards that are just delicious, it's just a matter of finding one on the market :) So, there are heaps of private schools - co-ed and single sex, Steiner is in Wonga Park, Billanook in Mooroolbark...there's heaps :) And Ringwood is nice and handy to the train line as well as the Frankston-Mitcham toll way and the Eastern Freeway. It's a great location.
Gotta go, Oscar pulling nappy off and we're about to go for a walk!
-
Warrandyte is a nice area! i used to drive through it every day on my way to work (From diamond creek to Bayswater) excet one day i hit a kangaroo ont he way to work!
i have some friends that live at croydon & Ringwood but not sure what schools.
again i used to drive past a stck of them on my way to work around there.
Mel- how is Marley? hpe she's not scared to play outside now
Jess- whats your view of?
Maya- how is oscar and his selt thought TT going?! I think thats brilliant and he's not even 2 yet!
Jules- yay for those wonderful kicks! forgove mif i missed this but have u had your ultrasound? are u finding out what you are having?
i thought i'd let you old Junies know too that Julia (a.k.a RaccooOOoon) is pregnant! hoping she gets to a much further gestation this time around. (Ronan was 2 last month!)
-
Good morning :) Nic: hey congrats on your new home! how exciting! And thanks for the heads up on Julia, wish her all the best and tell her we'd love her to drop in and tell us all the details! would love to see how our first Junie baby is going (photos) too!
-
Tali - yeah Epping is not that flash! It will be nice if you could be around your sisters. Like Maya said, there are heaps of schools in the area both public and private. I will PM you a link to a great site with regard to finding schools. I have been doing alot of work with the Department of Education recently and this site should help you. I agree with Maya, Ringwood East/North are really pretty and Warrandyte (very foresty, if that's a word!!). Now the hunt for the house begins, good luck and I have fingers crossed you find something soon. What's happening on Bold? Haven't had a chance to watch it for weeks!
Nic - how scary hitting the kangaroo! Were you ok? Julia was before my time I think. But how exciting for her. Was her first a premmie? Marley is definately not scared by her fall, she is such a dare devil! I thought it might have made her more wary, but no.
Speaking of dare devil behaviour, I meet some GF's at a play centre on Tuesday and it had one of those huge climbing things that goes up on lots of levels, with stairs going everywhere. Marley was playing near the bottom of it, then one of my GF's said, look where Marley is. She was at the very top!!! She must have been so quick. She was waving at me from the top, then started to get a bit freaked out as she didn't know how to get down. I asked Chelsea to go and help her which she started to, then said no, she's a big girl she can get down herself! Great big sister - NOT! Thankfully one of my GF's daughter (who is 6) did a wonderful job of helping her down. Makes we wonder what is going to happen in a few years time. Hopefully Chelsea will be more helpful as Marley gets older because at the moment, she couldn't really care.
Took Chelsea and her friend bowling on Wednesday, which was hilarious. They had a ball and did well with their little ramp to help push the ball down.
Got the wedding tomorrow and thankfully it's going to be sunny YEAH! Well lets hope so anyway.
Better get back to work, but I have the munchies. Time to raid my snack cupboard LOL!!! :)
-
Mel thanks for the web site details will have to look it up later on...
Now I just have to sit and wait and see if and when we find a house not much we can do until we get down there though as we need to view the house first before we can apply( or should I say the real estate have to view us!!! ) Feel like I am going mad thinking about it all the time and BHL who is normally the rock who tells me that all will be ok is also starting to worry about the move but more because of money than anythink else... Has said a few time that I will have to get a job but as I have told him I have no skills so the money I would earn working in retail wouldnt cover the payments for 2 in daycare as May cant go to prep now until next yr ( she's a may baby) I can see BHL only staying there for a very short time until he finds himself a better paying mining job again...
-
 Tali - if you were to get a job you'd be working for the childcare costs! It will work itself out - it always does, chicky. Thinking of you :)
-
Tali - ditto what Maya said. Try not to stress too much.
Wedding yesterday was fantastic, probably one of the most fun weddings I've been too. The bride looked amazing, a very unusual vintage dress which just suited her perfectly. For the bonboneire (sp?), they made everyone a compilation CD of all these great songs, and called it their Wedding Mix CD. They then played most of them during the reception, it was the best music and such a great mix - Glenn Miller Band, Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, Van Morrison. They made CD covers and the theme of the wedding was Ferris Wheels (as that's where he proposed), so they had a ferris wheel on the cover of the CD and a ferris wheel on the wedding cake. Best food I have ever had at a wedding and great venue. We danced the night away and my new shoes didn't hurt - bonus! For those on Facebook, I have put some photos on there plus some recent ones of the girls.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and I'm looking forward to the sunshine this week. :)
-
I know, Mel - how awesome is the forecast?? Woo Hoo! We've been making the most of daylight savings in the last week and going for twilight walks, and I think that can continue cos the weather's too nice to stay at home all evening. Your photos are just lovely, BTW!
Ali - how's things going with you?
It's late and I have to be at uni early tomorrow (whose bright idea was it to have morning sessions for childcare??) Might take Oscar to the uni pool afterwards...he'll definitely sleep on the way home, then!
Happy, happy sunshine!!
-
Mel sounds like you had a great time at the wedding, I will be checking out the photos when I get out of here mind you my computer hates FB always disconnects and trys to re-connect to dial up very annoying...
Thank-you all for the support, I feel like all I do on here at the moment is complain but alway feel your support so thank you it just hard moving and not doing it with the defence I never realised how easy they made it...
So we will be leaving on the 1st of May and then I will be stanying at my mum and dads until we find a house so will be of line for a while, and BHL will be staying with my sister in Kilsyth so he will be closer to work.. My parents are flying up here tonight so they can fly the cat down with them which is a huge help..
-
Tali, your parents sound like gold - flying up for a cat? Mine would never do that! Don't forget that you can go to your local library (and I'm sure there's one at Inverloch!) to use the internet there...and it's broadband, so no disconnections for the whole hour you book it for! So please don't go offline for too long!! Hey, thinking of you and your move and we will definitely have to have a 'Welcome to Melbourne' catch up when you get yourselves settled :)
At uni now, not studying, cos I"m naughty. I went to park the car after dropping Oscar off, and walking back to the union building (oops, not allowed to call it that anymore) I had to walk past the back gate...the eagle eyed kid saw me and dragged a staff member to the gate as I hurriedly walked past. She probably thinks I was spying on him and is cursing that I disturbed him just as he'd settled down!
Beautiful day - might buy some apples on the way home and visit the pony with the boy (he needs his light rug taken off for the week).
Meanwhile, I've got a text book open in front of me...
-
I know I am very very lucky, but I think that they are just so happy that I am moving their grandkids down near them... That and mum just loves Cairns and wanted to get one last look before we leave plus my sister found them really cheap flights...
I forgot that I can log on at the library!!! I will have to do that ( if only to get sometime for myself...)
Thats funny that Oscar spoted you. He must be on the look out!! dont worry about what the girls think thats their job to settle down kids, I am sure he would have been fine after a little bit, he would have just seen you and thought it was pick up time, wouldnt you just love to have there no perseption of time... Maybe then I wouldnt realise how quickly my kids are growning up.. Its Zaydens 8th birthday on the 10th so sad how can my baby be 8 and more to the point how can I be old enough to have a 8 yr old LOL
Better go being very rude as mum and dad are sitting on the couch...
-
Hi all, I'm having trouble with my internet connection at home so am at the library.
Started to feel movements last week and had a check up today and am measuring at 14 weeks so the Dr is still thinking it might be twins so will have to wait and see until the scan on the 30th of May.
Better go time is nearly out.
hugs xoxo
-
Amanda: twins! Did I miss something? How exciting!!! Hope your connection is up again soon so you can tell us more!
-
wow amanda! thats great u are feeling movements. wow 30 May seems so long away to find out if its twins or not? my doc used to have an ultrasound macine in his office, although it wasnt as good it was good to get to see bub each time.
hows the m/s easing up any?
-
OMG Amanda how exciting but what a wait until 30th May. You'll be jumping out of your skin by then!!!!! Can't wait to hear the news if it's 1 or 2.
-
Hi Junie-ladies
Had to come in to tell you all first that number 3 is a GIRL!!!!!!! :confetti: I can?t believe it! I was so expecting another boy. I had had an inkling that it was a girl but I didn?t know if it was just wishful thinking. We had the most amazing scan, the lady was brilliant and talked me through everything and finally told us after much checking that she hadn?t missed ?anything? that it was a girl. She is very sure as we had a very good view ? as if she was sitting on a glass table and there was definitely no meat and 2 veg there! We also got some amazing 4d pictures which ill post as soon as I get the disk which is being sent as she didn?t have time to burn them there and then. I have sat with my mouth open for most of the journey home, I just can?t believe it ? now I can?t wait for time to tick around to when mum and dad wake up in England so I can tell them as I know mum will be exstatic ? god the amount of pink that will be crossing over the world will be huge!
We had a great weekend away when mum and dad was here ? without kids! The first time id ever been away from them. I was so nervous but they didn?t seem to mind although Will wouldn?t come near me for a couple of hours when I got back so I think he was a little peed off that id deserted him. It was so lovely being able to go out for meals at night and just be able to go to different wineries (as the driver ? doh!) and be able to pop in and of the care every few minutes to look at things if we wanted without haing to drag kids out! I think it will be along time before we get that chance again!
We had an interview at the school where we wanted to send the kids and fortunately got offered a place so im very relieved. Its only 5 minutes walk away and is an Anglican private school but is low fee so hopefully the bank wont be too broken. They teach from kindy right through to year 12 and it only opened last year so is all spangly and new. We really liked the headmaster and his thoughts and ideas about how the school is run so I think we should be reallt happy with them there. He took us round and showed us everything and we must have been there an hour!
We?ve had an alarm fitted to our house and a chap is installing security screen this very minute over all the doors so we will feel lots safer in the house and be able to have all the doors open most of the time to let the breeze in which is great.
Will finally do some personals - have a month to catch up on ? so very behind the times!
Ali ? great news that Liam is sleeping better and the losec is working ? that was the only thing that worked with Will?s reflux. Wow at Tori knowing her Colours and shapes! Will talks great but doesn?t know any of those things yet.
Misskel ? hi, im relatively new to the Junies and have only been around a year so haven? seen your twins ? wow ? pmsl at their granny naming them search and destroy! Good luck with production of the next masterpiece(s).
Mel ? yes ill post belly pics although they might be clothed ones as I have abit of a grim looking tummy with huge stretch marks and a saggy blobby bit at the bottom from the previous two. You must be so proud of Chelsea getting chosen as class captain, that?s great. Can?t believe you were just walking around the sand sculpture thingy and saw hugh Jackman! That?s great that he had a quick chat with your hubby. I don?t think ive ever seen anyone famous in the flesh but then I?m so slow on the uptake sometimes that I think Madonna could walk into me and I wouldn?t realise it was her! Glad you had such a good time at the wedding ? your photos on fb are amazing ? you looked so nice in your new dress (not that im saying you don?t look nice normally but you know what I mean haha!).
Amanda ? hope you are feeling better soon. Will pass some pink vibes your way so I hope you get your princess too. How?s Cody?s toe doing? Yay at being able to feel those first movement ? its so precious! Eeek at possible being twins!
Tali ? HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZAYDEN! ? Hope he has a lovely day! How?s BHL?s huge bbq going? Hope he?s cooked you up some storming dinners on it already. Must look you up on fb ? im hopeless! Did you got up to the tablelands? I used to love gong there when we wree in Townville. We used to stay at this amazing place called possum valley which you had to drive about 2km down unsealed road to then you were just in the middle of rainforest, no sign of any other human, no mobile reception and no tv ? it was so peaceful. The cottage (2 very separate so you didn?t see the other guests) had a big damn in front of them with platypus in. We always saw a tree kangaroo when we went to as it was so isolated ? usually the same one I think as it was in the same tree but it had a baby with it one time ? so cute! Ouchy at your moving costs! Have to admit that ours were double that from Townsville to Perth but then we weren?t paying so didn?t worry too much. Saying that we paid nearly $1000 just to move 40 minutes down the road here and that was with me doing all the packing! Congrats on BHL getting the job in Melbourne and huge Yay that he?ll be home every night!
Jess ? how did the move go? Hope you are all settled in now.
Maya ? ouchy at Oscar dropping a can of food on his toe! ? how is his nail ? did it go black? Wow at him performing on the potty already!
Nic ? huge congratulations on the house purchase, it sounds a great place. Wow at Tyron being able to sit already! He?s growing so fast, Will was over 9 months before he could. Not long now till Nixon?s 2nd birthday ? have you made any plans?
Bath ? thanks for my new belly on my Av ? looks quite realistic! If only my face looked like that hehehhe.
Rory ? don?t know how you manage to work and have the kiddies! I did it when I had one but not 2 ? I just can?t imagine when ill be able to get back to it! Love your ticker picture of the boys, they are so handsome!
Hello to anyone I?ve missed. Better go and do something (or more than likely surf more!!) before the boys wake up
Julie x
-
:happyforyou: Oh Julie, how fantastic!!!!!! A little princess joining the family. Congratulations. Get ready for the onslaught of pink things, but they are so cute though. Great that you got such a good scan, can't wait to see pics. I am so glad you enjoyed your time away, it must have felt so nice having that free and easy life (even if only for a weekend!!!!) again. You guys deserve it. The school sounds great, and low fees is good. I loved the FB picture of the boys dressed up, they looked very cute, who could refuse them. You and I must have the same belly LOL!!!!! I wouldn't be taking any skin shots of myself either but clothed ones are good. Re the dress - I know what you mean. I don't normally look that glammed up (wish I did LOL!!!).
Chelsea has her first sports day tomorrow, so DH is going along to watch. She is very excited about it and won't tell us what she is doing, apparently it's a surprise! Marley is going so well at creche now, she waves excitedly and says "bye bye" when I leave. Puts a big smile on my face when I leave to know she is so happy. The carers just love her too and being the littlest one there, they take extra special care of her.
Better go and get my bum into gear and get ready for work tomorrow.
Hi to everyone, especially those MIA for a while. Hope you are all well. :)
-
Nic- We have the most fabulous view of the mountains! We can see Buller and Buffalo and if we look hard enough we can even see Falls Creek!
We are all moved in, final inspection was today, passed with flying colours.
Now, it's just sorting things out, the shed out the back in full with stuff! Its so hard moving a 4br into a 3 br, so I think I need to turf some stuff!
The kids absolutley love the new place, bit further to school but more exercise. I am really getting annoyed with a 3 yr old who thinks that she doesn't need to sleep!
Better go ladies
-
Just a very quick congratulations to you Julie a baby girl !!!!
Now you life wont ever be the same again little girls come out know who they are!!!! lol
:hooray::happyforyou::babygirl:

Has anyone else noticed the new smiles they are all so cute!!!
:loveshower: this one a fav so I thought I would shower you all in love today lol
-
Congratulations Julie on your precious little girl!!!!:D
-
Hi guys, just sticking my head in quickly, still struggling along with my 2 little precious darlings, but I *think* I am starting to make some headway with it all. I think more than anything I need to stop being so hard on myself for not being able to do everything 'perfectly'.
Julie- WOOHOO on the little girl, you must be so excited. Glad you had a nice weekend away. I hope to catch up again with you really soon.
I had better make this a quick one, Liam is a sleep *shock Horror* and Tori has gone to mum's for the day and I have 100's of things to get done.
-
congratulations Julie on your little girl!!!
we have organised a birthday party for Nixon next Saturday. Im making a cookie monster cake so hope it turns out and will have to show u pics.
Yeah Tyron has been early with everything so far, had 2 teeth at 4.5months and sitting at 5.5months. Nixon couldnt sit till he was about 9months either.
Ali- life with two is much more hectic, because u may have a good day with one but bad with the other! if they alternate a few times a week makes for a pretty full on week.
I'm finding Nixon the harder of the two, he can be so highly strung, definatley a firery little boy, wher as Tyron is just as placid as they come. i hope his personality stays the same!
jess- wow sounds like a pretty awesome view you've got!
Happy birthday ZAYDEN!
well it was now this time 2 years back when my membranes ruptured and i thought i was peeing myself!! it's amazing how many of us are still here chatting away and all of the ongoing support we have all had for each other. BB and this group has been a big part of my life, thank you all
-
Jess - glad to hear the move went well. Maybe have a garage sale to get rid of some stuff and make some cash too.
Tali - Happy Birthday to Zayden for yesterday. What a big boy now. I hope he had a fun birthday. Hadn't even noticed the new smilies LOL!!! They are cute.
Ali - don't be so hard on yourself. No one does things perfectly, but your kids and DH love you no matter what. Things do get easier and you are doing a ripper job.
Nic - OMG I can't believe Nixon is 2 next week!!! Have fun making the cookie monster cake and don't get the blue icing on anything as it stains really bad. Time has certainly flown and I'm glad I became part of this group too. Pity I didn't know you back then.
Chelsea had her sports day today and came 4th (out of 5) in her running race. DH said is was hilarious watching them. She had a ball and was pretty excited to get her little ribbon. They came last in the relay but they still go a ribbon for that too.
-
Nic- O my cant believe that Nixon will be 2 next week, that now means not too much longer and our babies will also hit 2 very sad really...( As you might be able to tell I dont cope to well with my Babies getting older :( )
Mel- Sports days are always just so cute DS is just so slow ( takes after me lol ) but he just doesnt see it he always tells me after that he must have his slow runner's on that day and thats why he couldnt go fast!!!
Julie- BHL has only gotten to use his BBQ a few times as he has been away but he is still in love with it I got him a cook book on BBQ and he told me that he doesnt need one as he is already the best cook!! LOL I told him I dont want just steak every night...
Well we went to Green Island on Friday and we had a great day ( have put some photo's in the gallery) mum, zayden and I snorkled and got to see loads of fish but its a bit sad really as you can really see how dead the reef is becomming and when watching some of the tourist who couldnt swim you can really see how they would ruin the reef more by kicking the reef with there feet!!!
We were the only blondes on the whole boat which was funny as it ment poor may and kai werent left alone May didnt care so much but Kai hated it as the would just come up to them and try to touch the girls and take many photos. One lady came up to May on the beach a picked her up BHL got rather angery and told they lady to put her down the lady just smiled and told him that she was " very cute" which is all fine and dandy but you dont pick up someones kid, lucky May didnt freck out too much but kinda scrary that she didnt as it makes you think would she just let someone take her and not say anything?
Well have go as we are going to port douglas today while BHL starts to pack...

Hi
Ali – Hope to catch up with you too soon – let me know whenever you are up to it – I’m more than happy to drive up your way as my two don’t mind the car. Was meaning to ask you also if you’ve used the newborn insert with your ergo and how you have found it? I love my ergo but can’t picture a newborn in it!
Nic – good luck with the cookie monster cake – that will be so cool!
Mel – Glad Chelsea enjoyed her sports day, sounds like she had a ball. I just can't imagine Oscar doing well at sports – he’s a great runner but is so distracted I just think he’d run the opposite way to every one else!
Tali – lol at just getting steak each time! Hope you had a lovely time in Port Douglas. I wouldn’t have been happy wither with a stranger picking up one of my kids – just rude!
Jess – Glad the move went well, your view sounds amazing!
Thanks for all your ‘girly’ congratulations, I still can’t believe it! I’m itching to go into town and buy ‘a few’ things from Myers but am holding myself back until James’ sister has her baby so I only need to do one trip into town. She is now over 37 weeks and has never made it to 36 before so it should be any minute as previous bubs were 33 wks and 36 wks! She’s going for a home birth this time which will be great for her as she has such a ‘quick and easy’ time of things – less than an hour for both previous ones.
Got the cd from my ultrasound today so have posted a few pickies in the gallery and changed one to my ticker.
Boys have been evil to each other this morning, before 9 oclock we had eye gouging, face slapping and biting each other fingers! Starts out as a game but then one of them does it too hard then it breaks out into war! I took them food shopping to wollies expecting a hell of a time and have to admit they were complete angels - it’s amazing how quick they can swap horns for wings!
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Julie x

Well, I'm no closer to finishing this lab report - DP and Oscar have been sick over the weekend...why does this always happen when I'm at a crossroads in my committment to this damn course?? Argh!
Might have to take Osc to the doc tomorrow to get a med cert, and I really didn't want to have an extension hanging over my head for this assignment :(
Mel - good on Chelsea! Thanks for your email...I'm mulling over it ATM.
Julie - I'm dreading the day that my kids (ha! when the second one turns up!) are at each other and I know how my own mum felt when my sister and I were at each other...
Ali- I know what you mean about doing this perfectly. Around here if things dont' get done by me, they don't get done at all, or they get done in a way that has to be redone anyway :( Where it doesn't immediately affect my line of sight (being that I'm such a visual person) I can let it go, but if it's in an area I see all the time, like the kitchen or loungeroom, I can't get anything else done until it's 'just so'. Hence, no lab report...it's not a good thing to be so damn visual!
Nic - 2nd anniversary time! You're in such a good place this time round - today is a world away from what you could have imagined back then. You have another boy, you've bought a house, you're near your family...it's all good!
Strangers and kids - dunno, I don't have the same feelings about strangers picking Oscar up. They have and they do and I really like it - it makes me feel more connected and that Oscar's part of a community where people reach out and feel safe enough to pick up a stranger's child and show affection to them. He's often the 'victim' of little girls who are feeling maternal towards him! At a birthday party in a park the other week, two girls came over and were 'handling' Oscar (picking him up, helping him onto the bench to have lunch, wiping his face!!). The other people at the party all looked horrified (but said nothing) and when the girls went a bit away asked if I knew them. I said no and they were talking about 'in this day and age you worry about that sort of thing', and I was so sad that it's come to that. The girls were really taken by him and were involving themselves where they had no obligation for it. It was so sweet in my eyes. This wasn't even in my area, it was off the mountain a bit, so I even surprised myself at being so comfy with non-hills people! Anyway, they're my thoughts on it - I love other people acknowledging Oscar and being affectionate with him :)
Osc now spends most of the day without a nappy (despite the cooler weather, often without pants at all!). He's had the runs and even so, he still waits till he's on the potty or toilet to let it out. He's growing up way too fast - he assembles the toilet seat all by himself, it's a seat and step all in one thing. Everything happens too soon with him, I just want to savour his baby-ness!
Ok, better get back to my cuppa and books...see you all when I emerge next...

Howdy belllas!! I am back at work and have been busy - I am working 3 days a week now and will be ramping it up to 4 days a week in May. I am also flying to Milldura on Friday for a conference and will be staying overnight so will be a whole 24 hours away from my bubs! Not sure whether to say woohoo or boohoo - I will miss them but at the same time it will be lovely to leave home at 11am, fly out, check into our nice hotel, go to the gym, have a bath, eat a lovely dinner on a paddleboat, sleep in, have brekky made for me then fly back in time for the mid-morning feed. (Can't you tell I am looking forward to it LOL!!!) Only bummer is I am not sure I have expressed enough "mook" for Ollie so he might have to have a formula feed, but I guess I will have to get over the guilt soon enough.
I am sturggling with work ATM - I am not sure whether my lack of enthusiasm is due to being with the same boss for too long or something deeper. I feel like I need to "move out of home" so to speak but how do I know whether the problem lies with me? Maybe if I give it a red-hot go here I will feel differently? Ah well, at least I have a job to sturggle with I guess, I am lucky in that sense.
Maya I am wih you on the "Around here if things dont' get done by me, they don't get done at all" - Mick is still struggling with his thesis poor love and every day I get honme the place looks like a bombsite, but I am doing my best not to say anything because he hates the thesis so much I don't want to nag him to finish it. The thing that worries me is that I will be full time in June and I just can't run the house and work as well, so I hope it is done soon so he can take over.
Julie, "it?s amazing how quick they can swap horns for wings!" LOL!! I can so see Flynn and Ollie being like that in no time (sigh!) At least that will be one good thing about working - it will be up to Mick to deal with the fights most of the time.
OMG Tali I would freak if someone picked up my child like that - they are lucky you didn't slap them!!
Howdy everyone else - Jaspen, Bath, Nickers, Ali and Amanda. I would so love to do more personals but I am at woprk so really should get stated. No use getting in early if I don't make proper use of my time :)
So ciao bellas, been nice talkin to yas!
ETA : Is it normal for Flynn to become the "silent assasin"? He is pulling hair and pushing and sitting on other kids - not with any obvious malice, just with an impassive face like he is playing with a toy or something. He looks sad and says "sorry" when you tell him off and delights in playing with other kids normally, but he is just such a booffer ATM. He used to be the youngest and scardest in my mothers group, now he is the bully! Mum said I was the same at that age but it doesn't make it any easier. As soon as Mick finishes his masters I want him to take the boys to a playgroup so Flynn can learn about interacting with other kids. I know he is only young but it is still upsetting - grrr!
-
Bath - I just noticed my new av! Love it, love it, love it!!! Thank you:cheer:
Tali - I love Zayden's reason for not running fast, how cute. Your pictures look great, it looks like a beautiful place but shame about the reef. I have never been there before, maybe I should before it gets any worse. Are you going to miss that when you move back to Melb? How is all that going? I not too keen on people taking my kids anywhere, I am happy for them to talk to them etc but while I am around. It's a bit sad that we have to be so cautious but unfortunately that's the way things are now. Marley wouldn't let anyone touch her anyway LOL!!! She would either freak out or give them her big stinky eyed look and that usually scares them off.
Julie - buying for girls is dangerous!!! Lots of cute stuff around, be prepared. Myer just had a sale here but I think it finished on Sunday. Are the sales the same around Australia? Love the ultrasound pics, how clear are they. At least the eye gouging etc didn't happen at the shops lol!!! I am trying my hardest not to intervene too much with the fights unless its getting nasty. I think Marley has it sussed that she whinges enough and I will come and sort it out. Need to change my approach!
Maya - I'm sure you'll get your report done. Did you take Oscar to the dr? Hope he is OK. My DH is very good at helping out but he does things "his way", which isn't my way! So usually I end up doing it anyway. I like "my way" of doing things and it's quicker and easier for me to do it. He still gets his fair share of work given to him, but being a shift worker, he has more time to help out. Oscar is so good with his potty, I am too scared to let Marley lose on one.
Rory - howdy! Mildura sounds fantastic, you are making me jealous! Hope you get to enjoy yourself, you deserve a bit of time to yourself. And its not too long away from your babies. Just enough for you to relax and sleep in! I found with my last job, that I didn't enjoy it anymore as I had been there for too long and the challenge and excitement wasn't there anymore. Maybe you are finding it hard to be excited by work and too tired to be challenged? I'm sure the reason will show itself to you. Maybe it is your boss. How long has Mick got left on his thesis? Is he just doing revision, I thought you mentioned previously that he had handed in. Don't know much about the "silent assassin" behaviour. Maybe the playgroup is a good idea, they learn alot from other kids their age (or any age) about how to play, share etc.
Finally got Marley fitted for a good pair of shoes. She loves them, struts around the house and says "shoes, shoes" every 5 minutes. Myer had a good deal, by 1 pair and get 50% off the second. That will see her through winter and beyond hopefully. The girls actually played really well last night (they do squabble alot), Marley got dressed in one of Chelsea's fairy costumes, she looked hilarious, tiara on and all. Chelsea put the CD on and the two of them danced for ages. I had to call DH in to watch, we were killing ourselves. Wish I had of thought to get the video camera. I wish they played like that most of the time.
Yeah, work day is over! Time to go.

I knew I was the odd one out on kids being picked up by people you don't know! Maybe I'm just blessed to live where I do where my mistrust has been eroded :)
Mel - I've come to some conclusions about this lab report - better to hand in a crappy one now than to chance not getting a med cert that covers me (with all the revisions of extensions and spec cons!) and having late penalties applied. I'm going to get stats tutoring to take some of my anxiety about that aspect of my course away. I'm also going to head up to the fire station now so that I'm not studying at home. It means I don't get internet so I'll have to just make do with whatever articles I've downloaded so far, and so be it if they aren't what I actually need!
Rory - Oscar is getting into this phase. He's trying out his new size, but he's also copying other kids when they do it to him. I hate it and there's no point shaming them about it at this age, they don't get the point and they just feel picked on in return. I take Oscar away and say 'Be nice'. I don't say "don't hit" cos if he's gonna understand anything, it will be the 'hit' part, just like the add many years ago where the mamma bear says to baby bear 'Just behave yourself' and the baby bear says 'beehive? Yum!'. I reiterate 'play nicely' and if things escalate, then I just leave. Best for all involved. This also tends to only happen with kids his age or younger. Older kids, that he's used to playing with, will actually engage him in wrestling and other 'sanctioned' forms of rough play. I haven't done playgroup and probably won't, just cos between the brigade families, booby club and now Kindergym, he's getting some pretty good opportunities for interaction. It is a good idea to have them with all sorts of kids to pick up on 'kiddie' conventions. They tend to sort each other out with what's acceptable or not, if you just let them be. Sometimes not, but usually yes.
Better get to the fire station, my new study area! BTW, DP was really good last night when I told him I was having a study crisis. Instead of being negative he helped me be constructive, and instead of being defensive and in denial, I faced up to my crisis! Maybe the DP I met is starting to re-inhabit his body...
have a great day!

Well only one more week of BHL been away and then we are packing and then we will be leaving!!! Still very worried about if we are doing the right thing or not but its got to better than staying up here where I have no family support plus the one good friend I have up here has just been posted to Melb so it must be fate... I will miss the weather though I just love the heat up here but that said I am looking forward to getting to put on some jeans... If I had a choice I think I would move all the family to the sunshine coast as they seam to have the best weather ( even if they do get wopper storms )
Isnt it funny before I had girls I would look at all the cute clothes and wish I had a girl to dress but now I have them I am very drawn to the boys clothes as they all look wonderful...But that said Julie you should be able to find some very nice girly stuff but like Mel said once you start you might find it hard to stop, one word of advise though try not to buy to many dress's in size 0 as this can be the size that little girls start to crawl and it makes it very hard to do in a dress once she is on her feet you can go buy them then ( Kai can still fit into a size 0 dress)
well better go still have my parents here until sat plus Kai is starting to smell!!! Cant wait until we move just so I can start to potty train...

Hi there,
it seems like a life time since i have been on here!!
I havent had a chance to catch up with all the posts yet but i will get there i promise.
Well, as you can see i had another little boy. Cooper david was born on Valentines day. I had anothe short labour (3 hours) which im happy about.
BUT - I have another terrible sleeper. He has reflux. the first few weeks were hell and its only now that i have stopped breastfeeding that he is starting to settle. He still only sleeps for 20 mins at a time through the day but im only up twice a night so its a bit more manageable that it was with Lachlan.
Lachlan is going ok, he has been diagnosed with Asthma. We had a terrible weekend with him and ended up in hospital and he now has his own little puffer to take (we have to pin him down to get him to take it though!) He has been great with Cooper, doesnt really seem phased that there is a new little person in the house.
Its my one year wedding anniversary on monday and i cant believe it has gone so quickly.
I hope you are all well. I will try to get back on to catch up with all the posts and see what everyone is up to!!

Yay donna its great to see you in here!
i love your ticker pic too very cute boys.
Oh bummer you are faced with another bub with reflux and sleeping issues. atleast your a bit more in the know this time around, you know what different sorts of things to try and help Cooper with. Is he on any medication for it yet?
i have always found clothes i like for the boys but i cant help to notice how much MORE variety a lot of places have with girls clothing.
and all the accessories that go with a girl, hair clips, braclets, necklaces its endless! more money i know but its very cute... anytime i need a "girlie" fix i buy something for my neices hehe
