Hi all. finally my internet has been fixed and have so much to catch up on.
Juile congrats on the little pink bundle, I'm so happy for you.
I've had the flu for the last two weeks, but starting to get better now, so will go and try and catch up.
hugs xoxo

Ok this has to be really quick as I am ment to be getting dinner ready!!!
I have just take a a photo of my new hair colour and would love to know what you think Blonde or Brown I have a before and after photo up...
Please excuse the photos I just hate photos of me and dont normally put any up of me but if you are going to tell me which is better then they will have to be up for now....
-
Maya - did you hand your lab report in? At least once its in you can breath easy until the next one!
Tali - I checked out the pics and I am in two minds! Having been brunette, then a blonde (and many other colours in between!), I really love your blonde hair. Makes you look younger and fresher. The dark hair looks groovy but is a bit more harsh IYKWIM??? Hope that doesn't sound horrible. Good on you though for taking the plunge, bet you feel better for it. I totally agree about the dresses on girls. No dresses until they are walking, or skirts even. I've seen a few kids go head over heels when crawling with a dress on.
Dee - great to see you back! I noticed it is your birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! (Thanks Facebook!). Hope you have a lovely day. Love the pic of the boys, very cute. Sorry to hear Cooper wasn't sleeping well but like Nic said, at least you are well informed about how to deal with it. I can imagine it must be hard making a nearly 2 yo to suck on a puffer! I'm sure he'll get the hang of it. Lets hope no more hospital visits. Come back again soon. Would love to see some more pics of the boys, will keep checking facebook.
Nic - you are dead right about the cost of girls stuff! They suck me in with all the matching stuff like the socks, hair clips, jewellery etc. Chelsea is right into the jewellery, but shops like Diva are great for cheap but not too gawdy looking jewellery.
Amanda - glad your internet is back up. Bummer about the flu, get well soon.
Still at work, I'm going out with the girls for dinner tonight. Nepalese, which I have never tried before. Should be fun. Out with DH and friends tomorrow night too, so busy weekend. Kids are great. Marley bought home some really cool painting and pastings she did at creche, which are very artistic! Chelsea is doing well at school and trying very hard with her readers every night.
Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend. :)
-
hi all, hope you all had a great weekend...What the weather like in Melbourne as I will be there in about 3 weekend arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr we have so much to do....
Anyway I had a big boo hoo today about my not so lovely mil, I am so glad we will be leave soon she just makes me so mad...
Thanks mel with the coments about my hair my sister said the same thing she things I look better blonde aswell I think I will put a red through it after BHL gets home as I love red hair anyway and normally go that way when I am in a need of a change, so I might be red for the winter and blonde for the summer.. Plus I am growing my hair atm so that I have some if my sister want up-do's for the wedding then I wll more than likely chop it off again as my hair is way to fine and fly away for long hair. ( poor Kai has the same hair its so fine that it matts like cat hair, so its always sticking out with bed head and car seat hair, very funny )
Well BHL gets back on wednesday and that the same day to u-pack-it truck comes and drops off the container so we ( or should I say BHL ) will be very busy packing I would love to say that I would help but BHL is a perfectioness so he would only have to re-pack things " the right way " anyway so I am going to my GF house on thursday to get away with Kai so that way he might be able to get most of it done without us there..
I will be off line as of saturday so will have to post a goodbye up date from there unless I get to a computer while we are at caravan parks on the way down, plus the libuary once I am at my parents house.. But we hope that we can find a place to rent asap when we get down there... We have decide to stick with Berwick and BHL will just have to travel or stay at my sisters place near the city some nights, as BHL wants to get back out to the mines while the money is there to be made at least for the next 5 yrs or so before he get a normal job with normal pay, and if I want to have a 4th and stay at home with that one as well then its the best plan for now, we will just have to save, but now that we wont be traveling down to melbourne every year we should be able to do that... Now all he has to do is find another mining job, that flys out of Melb...
Mel is Chelsea on readers already!!!! the prep they have up here is just a all day kindy even mum said it when she walked into class she said it was just like a kimdy not school QLD is so backwards with somethings they brought prep in to be in line with the other states as it was the only state left that did a year less than everyone else, but still they havent done it right! May still has no formal teaching its all play based so I am very glad that she cant go to prep when we move as it would be a big shock to her system, The problem thay have up here is that prep is stil not complusery which means that yr 1 is still the offial 1st yr of school so they dont want to teach the preps to much as in there letters and reading as the children who were not in prep will behind once they go to yr 1 iykwim, but like I said I am glad I will be out of here soon...
-
Hey Tali just a quick one - I like the brunette better cause it highlights your eyes more :)
-
Tali - I think I prefer the blonde, only cos it's softer on you. You look sexy hot as a brunette and brunette is definitely edgier as a look...I just know you as a big softie, though!!
Mel - how was Nepalese? I've had it once before and I remember really liking it. It was in Sydney, in Newtown - a lot more Asian varieties of restaurant in Sydney, I feel. I DID hand in my lab report and I feel heaps better, even though I know I will fail that particular assessment (better to hand in roughly on time and it be crap, than to lose marks on something that wasn't going to improve given more time and end up with a mark deficit IYKWIM!). I've definitely got mojo back - I went to the library today and instead of farting around for a couple of hours to get into the groove, I got my book from Reserve, found a spot, and read for a couple of hours instead (nearly fell asleep, so I took a toilet break to perk me up again). I finished a chapter of reading, and even though it was last week's reading, it was more reading than I've done in any other single week! Shouldn't take me too long to catch up at this rate.
Might leave Oscar with DP tomorrow for a bit and go to the fire station to read some more material. He's been busy bracing the house so that it doesn't move every time you walk from one end to the other - novel, I know!
I was away all weekend for some CFA training and that was awesome and very intense. I brought my breast pump and my nipples had a nice break from Oscar's sometimes 'beaky' attachment (only on the left breast, can't figure it out). I brought home 2.2 litres of frozen liquid gold, from just over 48 hours of being away from the kid! I woke up a bit full, but resisted the temptation to wake up in the middle of the night to express. Funny thing is, though, I get to sleep in longer when I'm at home than I did on the weekend - breakfast at 7.45...I'm normally up an hour later than that! Still, cooked brekky, yummy morning and afternoon tea, fully catered lunch by the kitchen staff, wonderful roast dinners two nights in a row...my poor belly couldn't cope! I love staying there, and I also like to come home to meals less reliant on so much meat! Oscar sure was glad to see me. I spoke to him each morning and evening and he is pretty good on the phone - he giggles, mutters every word he knows how to say and just before he says 'Bye bye mum' (waving at the phone, so Daddy reports) he says 'I laou you', cos he can't pronounce 'v'. Man, they are the hardest phone calls to hang up on!!
Nic - how was the party?
Amanda - welcome back! I still have your old email address, I was sure I changed it, but it musn't have saved properly - could you shoot me an email so I can save it?
Dee - so good to see you back! Hope those kidlets are treating you well :)
Better go have a bath before mini monster wakes up again...
-
I have just recived a email with photo's of a lady who had triplets the photos go from 7 week up until birth it amazing to see how big the belly can get in the last few weeks you can almost make out the babies heads if anyone would like me to forward it onto them just PM me you email address... It truly is amazing I am about the same size at full term as she is at 21 weeks!!!!
-
Nic - I'm so sorry I forgot to wish Nixon a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for last Thursday (wish he was on facebook to help me remember!!!!). It always throws me, he is the earliest one. The cake looked amazing, you did a fantastic job and loved the little ones. I bet they made a nice big mess LOL!!! Where was the party, it looks like a good party house, heaps of room and lots for the kids to do.
Tali - I think red would be great a give a nice warmth to your face. I have fine hair too, drives me nuts. Both my girls have really fine hair (and I hear you about the knots!) but thankfully they got curls like my DH and it isn't so noticeable. I can't believe the move is getting so close. I'm sure there will be tears and tantrums in the lead up, just roll with it and you will be in Melb before you know it. Once May starts school here, she will learn from scratch. Chelsea went to a kinder program at creche, so not formal kinder and she has been doing fine. They prefer not to teach them writing, reading etc at kinder and leave that to school. Chelsea is not reading many words but is getting to know the basic ones like "the", "is", "it" etc.
Rory - howdy! How's work?
Maya - Nepalese was delicious! Alot like Indian. It was super cheap so made for a great night out. Sounds like a very productive day at the library, well done and at least your lab report is out of your hands now. I can't believe you get 2.2 litres still! That is amazing. Oscar will never starve. I love the little words they say (or try to say). Marley's new word is "hot", which is said with the hand up. Everything is hot and its driving me nuts. At dinner everynight she says hot, and tries to blow her dinner even if its not very hot. I try to explain (not sure why????), but she still says its hot.
How is everyone else? Its been very quiet, I thought I would have heaps to catch up on but thankfully not.
I finally booked my trip to Brisbane!!!! I am so excited, leaving in 2 weeks and just Marley and I are going. DH is staying home with Chelsea, so that should be funny!!!!
Better go and do some work, need to leave by 4.30pm today and it's not looking good!!
-
Thanks Mel. Thats ok i didnt expect Junies to remember because their birthday's arn't until June LOL. btw i love your new avater
Yes Nixon had a fantastic day. the party didnt start till 2pm which suited Nixon to a tee. he had a big 2hr sleep before hand so no tantrums etc.
He loved the cake, we had a near accident the night before where he tried to pull the cover off it and smudged some icing! He kept saying cookie cookie cookie..... and he had lots of practise blowing out candles before hand. The weather held off which was great and he got lots of nice stuff.
Some of you may remember back to when we were pg (i was about 30wks) my dad was diagnosed prostate cancer. i was due to fly up and see him @ 35weeks because his op was 2 weeks later, anyway that never happen Nixon had other ideas.
but 2 yrs on some cancer cells have returned. He is in the process of seing another specialist to see "where to" from here. It is likely he will need raditation treatment which for some its great and others dont take to it well. When he was a 10yr old kid he had radiation on his head for ring worms.
unknown then but it cause a brain tumor which sat dormant for 40yrs. anyway doesnt mean this would happen again i am sure technology has come so far in the last 40 years but its still something he is not very confident about. I just feel very sorry for my parents to have to go through it all again, this will be his 3rd battle in 12yrs. i know no one deserves it but its still not fair.
Im going to do my best to support them through this even if it means making meals for them every night when dad goes through treatment etc, work can take a back seat for a while in my eyes.
i wonder if we will still be alive the day they come up with a "cure" for cancer??????????? i hope so so our children and our grand children & their children never have to battle through what so many do
-
Oh Nick that is awful for you and your family - I hope your dad starts to be more positive. Cancer just sucks, a good friend's husband has liver, lung and rectal cancer and it is so hard to see her trying to hold her family together. But you know they are making progress every day with cancer treatments
Maya 2.2 litres is fantastic! I was proud of my piddly 500 mls when I was away LOL!
better sign off - very tired after a day at work (yawn)
Anyone heard from Jess lately? I haven't seen her poke her head in here for a while/ hope her troops are well :)
-
Hi all, just checking in while i have 5 seconds to myself (it is 7pm and both my children are in bed woohoo).
Nic- Happy Belated Birthday to Nixon, I can't believe that he is 2 already. I am so so sorry to hear about your dad, cancer is an evil thing and I am sorry that he has to go through it again.
Mel- i bet you are looking forward to your trip. How will Chelsea cope with you and Marley going away without her?
Things here are starting to settle into some sort of normalcy (if that is a word) Liam is sleeping during the day, usually only 1 sleep cycle, but at least he is sleeping and he has just started sleeping through the night .........woohoo!
Tori is as talkative as ever and is starting to use sentences now, it is great listening to her try and fit all the words she wants to say into a sentence, sometimes she has to say it 3 or 4 times to get all the words she wants to say in the right order, her latest things to say are "thats strange" and "maybe" and the cheeky little monkey has figured out that everyone else calls me Ali, so she calls me that too now!
Anyway I am off to enjoy the peace of sleeping children and my husbands company while I can.
-
Nic - Bath is the avatar queen! I love it too. Good timing for the party, esp letting him have a sleep before hand. I haven't even thought of what to do for Marley's party. Sorry to hear about your dad's cancer returning, hopefully radiation will do the trick. My cousin had radiation therapy for a type of lymphoma and he did OK, just lost his sense of taste for a while. I'm sure they will appreciate the support you give them. A cure for cancer would be a phenomena I would love to be around to see.
Ali - isn't it great having peace and quiet at 7pm? When I explained to Chelsea that we were going, she said that she couldn't leave her teacher as she would miss her too much lol!!! And her friends would be sad if she wasn't there. Thank god for that! I told her I would ring her everyday to find out about school and what she has been doing. I am just laughing thinking of DH trying to do her hair every morning, he is not good with scrunchies. How fantastic that Liam is sleeping through, you must be feeling a bit more "normal" now. Tori is amazing with her language and speech, funny calling you Ali!!!!! Cheeky.
Marley had a bit of spill at MIL's on Tuesday and has a black eye with a nice big cut under it! Poor MIL was beside herself with worry. Marley was pushing a little cart around, tripped and feel forward hitting her face on the corner of a chair. It wasn't too bad on the Tuesday night but on Wed morning, she had a nice big shiner! I've been putting lots of paw paw cream on it and it doesn't appear to be bothering her, but MIL was worried how close it was to her eye.
I did the literacy program at Chelsea's school, 2 sessions over 2 weeks and now they will let me loose in the classroom with the kids!!! I start it on Wed next week and I am so looking forward to it. We help with a small group of kids doing various activities. Chelsea is so excited that I am coming and DH is doing the PMP program on Tuesday's (the only dad doing it).
Feels like a Friday today, must be time for a coffee (and maybe a donut LOL!!!) ;)
-
Nic - how stressful for your family :( You sound like a very strongly connected family and very supportive of one another, and I think that will definitely help you guys through this next phase
Ali - it's the 'time to self' crisis, isn't it? Competing interests of others, and even your own interests leave so little time for the things you actually LIKE doing for yourself! I'm having similar issues related to needing time for things I like doing, yet needing an extra couple of days in the week to be tacked on to the existing days. Heard a speech pathologist talk last night and this forthcoming phase of communication of our little ones is so exciting, isn't it?
Rory - good point, haven't seen Jess round, might have to check FB for any clues... I've been sending Oscar to childcare with EBM, or it will just go past the recommended time-keep thingy! It feels ridiculous, yet quite potent simultaneously.
Mel - Such a lovely day to end the week on!! I'm afraid I might have to go off coffee - it's going straight to my nerves lately and I've been having trembles, which can't be good. I reckon I could get just as much read and processed without it. I reckon you'll hear lots of funny tales from both Chelsea and DH when you call to check up on them! How exciting to get time with Marley, just you and her. I'm going to lock that one into my memory bank and do it with our second child. We're doing so much with Oscar that I'm already looking at ways to give this non-existent second child valuable experiences they can own for themselves! Of course, it's also great, in my mind, to have fantastic shared experiences between the siblings. So much to look forward to (Geez, it's nice to use that phrase in a positive sense, instead of the negative one I always cop from people who exude 'BTDT' attitude!).
Ok, gonna go and pick up Oscar and head home. He's got swimming tonight (still debating getting in the pool with him and DP, could be fun and I need some of that!), then BIL birthday BBQ. We decided we are going camping with our friends - we got an offer from my beautiful GF to use her other car, so that we can take a trailer! I had settled with the idea of not going earlier in the week, before the offer came in, and now I'm excited again.
Have a great weekend everyone! Hope those of you intending to go to a dawn service come good with your committment (as in, I hope so in order that you don't feel guilty in yourselves!). I"m hoping the same for myself -I've said I'd go and it remains to be seen as to whether I'll have the motivation tomorrow morning...
-
Glad to see some people have been missing me!!!
Well, we are back on broadband! FINALLY! DH cracked the poos with dial up last night and paid for it without me knowing! I love him to pieces!
Well 2 (Ronan (17th March) and Nixon( 17th April)) of our "original" Junies have had their birthdays and the next bubs to become 2 are Misskel's 2 precious kids (23rd May)and then the next day it will be Pat's birthday(24th May). Our kids are getting SOOO big, Pat finally took a big step, he drank out of a straw!!! Up til now he hasn't been able to, but today he did it!!!
-
Nic- so sorry that your Dad and your family has to go through this all again wich him and yourselves the very best of luck :goodluck2::hug:
Its funny as I wasnt around when you were all belly buddies so I even though I knew that Nix came early I am only now realising just how early, as he is already 2 it just blows my mind realising just how early he was... So sorry that I missed his Birthday by the sounds of things he had a great day...
Mel- how wonderful going to brissy you must be looking forward to it... I am sure DH will do his best even if poor chelsea's hair might look a little funny but I am sure your mil will come over to help out with that part in the morning if not ask one of the prep mums I am sure they wont mind fixing the hair if its needed ( I know that there is know way BHL could do Mays hair he has tried once which was very funny to watch as the tounge of consetration was out the whole time ( you would think someone who can put back together a car or truck with out thinking could deal with a little girls hair)...
I started doing a literacy block with Zay when he was in yr 1 ( vic's prep ) it's great to see how your child is coping in class and also to see if they are doing ok compare to others in the class. ( I had thought Zay was doing poorly with reading but soon realised that was was actully very good. But this also where I worked out he is doing very poorly in spelling as the teacher hadnt said anything to me)
Maya- where abouts do you go camping? BHL and I love to head out and will need some good spots to head to but for us we wont start until winter has come and gone... ( I think we will need to climitise before we head out... hope you have a great trip...
well I have to go as we are still packing up a house....
-
Had a good weekend :)
Tali - we have been going to Sheepyard Flats, on the Howqua, and it can be very cold here even in summer, just depends! There was only one time that it was so warm we could just walk into the swimming hole and it felt like a pool. Every other time has been freezing for swimming! The Murray has good camping, if you're after warmth - I really liked it up near Yarrawonga, just that you also get heaps of yobbos up there, too :( A great spot is Cape Conran, near Marlo, as well as Point Hicks Lighthouse.
Gotta go, kid's awake!
-
Maya - glad you had a good weekend. I must admit, camping just isn't my thing. As kids we went camping all the time (my brother and dad had motorbikes) and I always slept in the car (the wuss that I am!!!!!). As soon as I was old enough, I stopped going. I don't mind going away but need the creature comforts of a decent bed and a flushing toilet (and hot shower). I was thinking of getting the Big 4 caravan park guide for some inspiration, some of the cabins look fantastic. How's your next assignment coming along? I am looking forward to spending some one on one time with Marley. We do get to spend some time together but it's usually not long and in between running around picking Chelsea up and taking her places. Marley will be sleeping in the same room as me so looking forward to getting her out of the portacot in the morning for a snuggle in bed. She is just so delightful at the moment, hope in continues while we are up there.
Tali - hope your trip down is going well. You must be almost here by now. I can't remember how long you said it was going to take. PML about the tongue and concentration, DH does that too and just can't get his fingers around the scrunchie. I am sure MIL will help him out.
Jess - glad your back online properly, must have been very painful with slow dial up.
Did my first day helping out at Chelsea's school today and I loved it! I wanted to stay for longer it was so much fun. The kids are just beautiful, no real naughty ones. One boy told me I was "nice", which was a lovley compliment (from a 5 yo). We did letters on the magnetic boards, where they had to match the words, then right them. Then they did a booklet about what monsters eat. It was funny watching the boys, they had the monsters eating slime, snakes, snails, spiders, rubbish etc and the 2 girls had them eating fruit and flowers LOL!!! I miss the next 2 sessions as I'll be away, but can't wait for the next one.
Got some professional photos of the kids a few weeks ago and picked them up last Thursday. They are fantastic! I am so happy with them, Marley is smiling so happy and both girls look very natural. I am getting a CD of all the photos they took, so I will put some in the gallery when I get them.
DH has gone to pick up Chelsea and take her swimming so will go and enjoy the quiet while it lasts (Marley is in bed).
Hi to everyone, hope you are all well. :)
-
Hi all,
well just one more week and we get the keys to our home! gosh 6 weeks has gone quick.
Nixon is going well, coming out with some funny things, he is still quiet hard to understand most of the time but i have de-coded some of it. Bee-dar is his code for DORA. dont ask how he came up with that it took me over a month to figure that one out!
He is about 13kg and 90cm tall, so he's a pretty lean boy!
Tyron is charging along. At 6months old he has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) weighs a hefty 10kg and a tall 75cm! he is up on all fours rocking.
gosh we didnt really noticed Nixon's delayed milestones because he was our first baby, at 6months Nixon wasn't doing much more than laying on his back!
Ty is the quiet acheiver, he is so placid and he just quietly goes about his business and try's and trys and keeps trying until he acheives something.
Nixon on the other hand "Mr Impatient" gets the poos the second something doesnt work the way he wants it to! i am forever telling him to keep trying and not get frustrated.
My dad is in limbo atm. the specialist that seen him last time reffered him to a radiotherapy specialst. Between the two of them they have wasted over 2 weeks mucking things up all just to get an appointment with this guy....very annoying.... he and all of us just want to know what needs to happen so we can move forward to the next stage of dealing with it.
so who is having a birthday party next month?
-
Nic - deciphering toddler code is very tricky, they get so cranky if you get it wrong!!! Marley will be babbling something, I have no idea and I say pardon, she says it again, still no idea then she cracks it!!!! Dora will probably be forever known as Beedar now lol!! Tyron sounds like he is doing really well. He's going to be a tall boy. So nice that he has a placid nature, makes it easier for him to fit in with family life. Sorry to hear they are mucking your dad around, I can only imagine how frustrating for you all, esp your dad. Hopefully they get their act together so you all know the next step.
Birthday party - still deciding. Being winter and so bloody cold here in Melb I was thinking about going to a playcentre near me. Its only $15 per child for min of 10, which is pretty good and I don't have to clean up the mess! Most of Marley's friends are Chelsea's friends siblings so there would be quite a mix of ages.
Uploaded the pics from the photographer to the BB gallery and facebook.
I found a CD while cleaning out the computer desk - Best of Australian Crawl!!! Its fantastic, I'm sitting here bopping away to Downhearted and Hoochie Gucci Fiorucci Mama (showing my age now lol!!!). Saw in the paper today that Ian Moss, Jon Stevens (my all time love crush!) and Jack Jones are playing some gigs in Melb, mainly local pubs. What an awesome combination, DH would really like to go and see them and so would I. Just need to find a date we can go.
Girls are great. Marley is getting funnier and funnier! I forgot how enjoyable they are at this age. Chelsea is still getting frustrated with her touching her things but I suppose that will never change. The two of them came out of Chelsea's room the other day, Marley with lipstick everywhere but her lips and Chelsea with it on perfectly. I asked Chelsea what happened and she said that Marley wouldn't let her help so she let her do it herself! Oh and the outside of the fish tank got a lipstick makeover too!
-
my sister was telling me today that a gf of her's is having her son's birthday (In June) at Hungry jacks.
its his 4th bday and every other yr it has been at home and rained.
anyway apparently its only $5 a child and u take your own cake and lolly bags the rest is sorted.
though that sounded pretty cheap.
-
Not sure about a party. We're having a joint birthday for the two cousins, for family, and I'm undecided about one for our friends and their kids. I'm inclined to just take us all away and show him a good time, instead!
Gotta go again - Osc took forever to get to bed tonight and I just want to chill out...
-
