    Hi everyone

Woo hoo, I get the first post.

Celsie - great pictures of the christening. So glad that you got the outfit on time.

Hmmm, can't remember much else from the old thread - sorry. Hi to everyone else.

I ran out of expressed milk yesterday, so had to leave work early and basically spend the whole day and part of the night expressing. So boring, and I only got a piddly amount too (maybe 240mls for hours of work...) Hopefully my supply will be better today. I think that Diana is going through a growth spurt, which is why she wants more milk. For the past few weeks, she hasn't seemed that hungry. She is starting to want to sit up now. She hasn't managed it yet, but sometimes looks like she is trying to do stomach crunches or something. So cute...

    Hi,

Starfish - Lewis does stomach crunches too and if you hold his hands he sits right up! I think he is going to be nosey as he is always trying to get up and look around!!

He weighed 6.84kg today. I'm looking forward to him being 8 kg so I can have him facing forward in the car.

Celsie - I was going to use the Bellamy's organic formula but the pharmacist told me that it isn't as nutritionally advanced as the others. Not sure if that's true as I haven't compared but I've read people on other threads who use it and say it's great.

I've stopped my mothers group as we seem to cover the same thing each week. I feel like we are a bit in between as he's a bit young for playgroup but a bit old for mother's group. So we are doing alot of walking at the moment!

Mel - Congrats on losing 5 kilos!! I still have 4.5 kg to get back to what I was before pregnancy as I have lost about 12 now but seem to be a bit stuck. I am walking loads and eating really well but it's the big spare tyre round my middle that just won't shift!! I can get into most of my clothes now but either have to leave the button undone or just breathe in all day!! How's everyone else getting on?

Hey guess what, Lewis slept til 8.30am again this morning!!! Don't want to jinx him but I'm hoping it may be a new pattern

Hi all! I turn my back for two seconds and you talk up a storm!!!By the sounds of it everyone is doing simply peachy keen which is fab!

Well, DD#2 has discovered her voice box and that she can not only gurgle but squeal and chatter! Oh sosososososo gorgeous!! Makes me laugh everytime she natters away! A whole hour yesterday!! And DD#1 always says, "Did you hear that mummy??" Lol!! She also rolled over for the first time the other day and was slightly amused and a bit confused that this big chunky object (her arm) was in the way!! Hehe!

My quiet mornings are no more.....................i used to have maybe 20mins after a feed to sit and have a cuppa before getting DD#1 up and putting bubs to bed - well, in the past 2 days, DD#1 has discovered that, wow! She can actually get out of bed and open the door and COME OUT on her own now!!! Hehe! She used to sit patiently and quietly in her bed and wait for us but little miss has been discovering a certain amount of little miss independance - haha!! She frightened the whatsits out of me this morning at 6.30AM!!!! I was sitting up (thank goodness) and I heard this weird noise and next thing there is this little person standing next to me with a massive grin!!! No chance getting her to stay in bed after that!

Have dropped a feed with DD#2 - bit nervous but was finding her completely not interested in an afternoon feed even though it had been 4 hours between feeds (ooh, here comes DD#1 up from her nap now! lol!!) Yesterday when I got bubs up even before she fed she did this massive spit up - her face went inside out - must've tasted terrible poor love. Then she sucked for maybe 3 mins and then spat up another 4 times in the next 20mins without having anymore bm!! When I tried to attach her she fought me and got all flustered so I left her. Well, a whole hour later she finished nattering away and decided that she was tired and hungry. I fed her (it was 7pm by this time) and popped her to bed and thought I'd do an experiment and so left her (she had been feeding at 9pm before this) well, apart from changing a poo at 2am, she went through til 5.30am !!! She cried for a minute, then did her sleepy complaining natter for another 5 and then went back to sleep until I went back in at 6.50am.......... And today, she has fed like clockwork on the four hour mark and slept like a charm for approx 2 to 2&1/2 hours.................

.....so who knows if this is her changing again.....but am playing it all by ear!

We really are enjoying our bubby more and more each day as she is becoming so interactive and her personality is really coming out - completely cheeky and very strong!! (I think she may have a temper ) Isn't it just so amazingly fun to be mummies to precious little munchkins?!?!?!

    Ok, off to play now!!!
    Mwa!!!

Hey guys, been forever since i posted in here.

Glad to hear all you little ones are jumping leaps and bounds.

Here is an update into how Lachie is doing
He talks all the time, half the time it seems he juct screams, but its cos he has found he can make different notes with one noise iykwim, we were always encouraging him to talk, now its starting to get to the, will you be quiet for a moment stage lol
at times sounds like he is trying to say dad or mum, but thats only if he pays attention to your mouth while you say it to him.

He smiles and laughs all the time, he'll laugh at you if you make funny voices at him!! Its soooo cute.

When he is under his play gym, he has learnt to spin 180, then he starts to whinge, cos he finds himself out of reach of his toys lol
Doesnt particularly like tummy time, although he does last up to 5min before whinging, he either pulls his legs up like he is about to crawl or he will put his arms out and grab hold of the blanket and try to pull himself across.
He hasnt rolled over yet, although he has learnt how to roll onto his side, once when he first started doing it, he freaked himself out as he got stuck and just layed there eyes wide open, not moving, not talking, nothing!! i couldnt help but laugh!! poor little one

he has 2 teeth comming through, i think they are the 3rd from the top front. He loves his vegie flavoured rusk sticks, and he has a teething dummy which he continually gums!!

He has solid food nearly every night for tea. He hated the farex and the baby weetbix, the only thing i have found he likes is potato, pumpkin and beef, but now that i have enough jars to store food, am starting to make our own, so much cheeper and i know whats going in it which makes me feel better.

Everything goes into his mouth atm, including me, if i happend to be holding him against my arm, he'll just start licking it, then try to bite it.

oh and he does the cutest thing (litterely for now only, i can see this getting out of hand really fast lol), he trys to bite you as a playing tecnique, you open your mouth at him and he'll do the same and move his head towards you like he is going to eat you iykwim
but like i said i can see this getting out of hand really quickly when the time comes.

He sleeps so very well at night, normally about 10-11 hours, for the first 7-8hrs he is fine after that, he'll stirr but still be sleeping, normally he ends up in our bed at about 3-4am and falls back asleep, but will snuggle up to me so i end up in weird very uncomfortable postitions that allow me to get very distrupted sleep!

He now sleeps in his cot, in our room. he hated his craddle as it was too small for him, and he woke himself up everytime he moved, so he started sleeping in our bed until we knew whether we were moving or not, as i didnt want him to have to many things to get used to at once iykwim, but since we are not moving, the cot is set up, took him 2 nights to get used to his cot, now he loves it, and gets all excited when i put him down in it!! LOL

Anyway i think that is everything, sorry for no personals, i have read them all though.
Im really enjoying spending as much time as i can with Lachie atm, i know he wont be like this for long, so am trying to take in what i can now before he grows up! And im sure you all know what i mean.
but i will promise to pop in here more often

    take care
    xoxo

    Hi,

Naomi - Good to hear from you, i wondered where you had gone! Sounds like Lachie is doing great. It's good to hear everything that each others baby is doing. Lewis sounds like he's at a similar stage although he doesn't spin round on the floor yet! Isn't is funny how the 3rd teeth seem to show first. I check Lewis's every day but they don't seem to come down any further.

Charly - Looks like you have your hands full now DD1 can open the door!!

Check out this website and go down to the 'baby of the month' at the very bottom of the menu. Guess who....!

    Hi
Just a quickie - Sarah - congrats on your little superstar. I love that photo as well!

I was just talking to my mum re: the teething, as Aiden seems to have started as well. Its just the top canine tooth (i always called them eye teeth, but DH tells me they are canine teeth..?) on his left side. My mum says that, as babies, we all did the same, the teeth sorta played around, up & down, but, it was the bottom to middle teeth (as per the 'book's say) that eventually came thru first. Us 4 kids did that, and my 2 nephews and neice did the same.

So, we will see. I have noticed now for about 2 weeks that this tooth is 'playing around'. I just didnt realise what was happening, but, now, i sorta looked back at somethings, and realised how long it has been going on for.

Will be back later, to catch up...

Thanks Charly for your lovely thoughts to us all. Its wonderfull to know that, despite the miles, we are still amongst friends.

    Hi ladies

Debbie I was speaking to a friend last night who has an almost 1 year old and she said the same thing about teething - apparently the teeth move around in the gums for a month or two before the bottom ones eventually break through.

Sarah its awesome that Lewis made Baby of the Month - he's gorgeous and it was such a nice idea to give him a little 2 month birthday cake. Do you do that every month??

Well things have been a little unsettled here recently. I dont know if its just the 3 month change but Mikayla has been very naughty of a night - she just isn't sleeping well and is getting very grumpy - she's even starting to throw little tantrums. I think I've got a cheeky little one on my hands. When she wants your attention she screams at the top of her lungs until you give it to her - then she stops and gives you a huge smile.

As the paediatrician suggested I've started her on solids which she is slowly taking to. I make up a teaspoon of rice cereal (farex) mixed with a little bit of formula every morning which she doesnt really like all that much but I dont blame her the stuff is tasteless. Initially she just spat it out but she's now starting to actually swallow it and yesterday she ate the whole teaspoon. I've also bought some jars of Heinz baby food for 4 month olds so that I can guage what she likes & dislikes before I start production on the homemade stuff. She loves the pear & banana but doesnt seem to like the pumpkin & beef or apple & mango much but I'll give them another go in a couple of weeks.

My precious little girl is starting to kiss back now too - its sooo gorgeous. As soon as I say "kisses for mum" she opens her mouth up wide and when I bring my face to her she sticks her tongue out and gives me a big sloppy kiss. DH has been making kissing sounds to her too so she's also started pursing her lips but instead of sucking in to make the sound she blows out - very very cute!! Ahh she's growing up way too fast!!

    Hope your all well.

Hug & kisses to all the beautiful babies xx

tina - try a little brown sugar with the farex. apparently, helps to avoid constipation. i would say it would also make it taste better. i rarely give aiden farex with just formula. i always do a half/half mix of farex&formula mixed with heinz veges. he has it for dinner, and would eat at least the equilevent to a jar. i havent given him any of the meat base ones, or fruit desert style ones. it probably too aiden about 4=5 days to really get the habg of eating. i also found that he doesnt really like the consistancy of jar food - i think he prefers it abit firmer. what i make him i guess is sorta similar to really creamy mash potatoes. IYKWIM?

Congrats on the kiss's to. How cute!

    Hi Everyone!
Congrats to everyone who has managed to lose some of thier baby weight! I am starting out today ( I was supposed to start last week but alas I got the "I'll start tomorrow I have too much to do today" bug) I have 30 kilos to lose .. but baby step my first goal is 5kgs.

Charly: Kenzie is starting to "chatter" as well! Sometimes it looks like she is trying to move her mouth the way we d, concentrating so hard and then out comes a squeel it so so cute! I could chat with her for hours! You sound like you are coping reallly well with a 4 month old and (Happy Four Month Birthday!!) your 3 year old, you must be so so busy!

Naomi: Lachie sounds like he is absolutley thriving! I agree they grow up so so fast and I'm trying to spend every last moment with my presious Kenzie I can't believe she will be 6 months by Christmas, time just goes so so fast when you have a little baby.

Sarah: Congrats on Lewis being baby of the month what a cute photo! I celebrate Kenzies monthly birthday too! Nice excuse to indulge in some cake!

Debbie: How can you tell Aiden is teething? Can you see the actualy teet comming through? Mackenzie is drooling like crazy and always chewing on things but I can't see teeth coming through anywhere!

Tina: Mikaylah sounds exactly like Mackenzie when she was 3 months ... she would *scream* then when you picks her up smile straight away! Little monkey .. she has grown out of that now .. she is really content playing on the floor because she knows how to interact with the world mosre effectively and pick everything up and ut it in her mouth ew! Why did the paed tell you to put her on solids? I thought that wasnt suppose to start till 6 months? Kenzie is 4 1/2 months and hasnt had any solids :/ She would prolly enjoy farex as she looks at us eating and you can tell she wants to try it!

Kenzie is getting some cradle cap now and again and I smother her in bepanthen and it generally goes away over night. I am trying to hunt some some Gaia products as I think it might help reduce it. Yesterday she got ezema down the side of her face Its gone now but it looks horrid and I freaked out.

I am having bad panic attacks lately and (I suffer from OCD - (Fear of germs) and trying to get them under control. I have been panicing about catching a disease and passing it to Mackenzie in my milk Its awful.

Kenzie is just beautiful sometime I just look at her and feel soo much love that I burst into tears. Especially when she just looks up and stares at me then cracks a smile. God bless her little heart!

I love these BB forums, I wish I have taken part when I was pregnant .. ahh well beter late than never.

Oh ... I think I am getting AF back .. so I'm going to learn how to chart and we are going to TTC #3! V. exciting.

    :hugs:

Babybella - welcome - i never got around to saying that earlier on - was abit tied up last week.
I thought/think he is teething, cause, drooling lots, red cheek on one side, and constantly stuffing fist in mouth. I ran my finger along his gum, and felt a lump. I can only assume thats it.
Also, in the UK, (i think) they say babies can start solids from 4months. I figure when i was a baby, i was started at 3month, my Dh was started at 9weeks as MIL couldnt keep him happy with milk, and we have both turned out ok. But, each to there own, and some babies just need that extra bit to help put some weight on.
Oh, Aiden does that thing as well, cry, and then, when you look at him, starts to smile. I sorta cottoned on to the fact that it also means he's tired as well.

Good luck with the OCD - big hugs to you, i hope you manage to get some things sorted out when you move. Oh, and good luck with the TTC3 - i have been thinking for ages that my AF is coming back. Nearly 6 weeks now since i stopped b/feeding, and nothing as yet.

    Hi Girls,

Thanks for the comments about Lewis being Baby of the Month. I wish I had have known they would use him as I would have taken a better photo instead of me in my dressing gown! I only sent the photo in because I could get a free personalised wrap if I sent a photo of him wearing the bib!
I take a photo of him every month with a cake so that I can compare photos when he's one. And yes Jen it is a great excuse for cake as Lewis can't quite eat one yet Although I have been using Weightwatchers cakes, honest!!

I think you are right about the teeth moving up and down Debbie because I spotted those 4 teeth over a week ago but they aren't moving down at all. They will probably still be in the gums after his bottom two have come through. I've given up trying to look in his mouth as he keeps his lips tightly closed when I go anywhere near his mouth, cheeky monkey!

Jen - It's hard enough worrying about germs without having OCD so I can understand how easily it can escalate. I hope you can overcome it soon

Tina - How cute that Mikayla is kissing! I can't wait for Lewis to do that. Each time I kiss him I say 'kiss' so that he knows what it is but so far he just looks as if to say 'get off Mum'!!

He had a real chuckle today which was so cute. Most of the time he just has big gummy smiles and makes mmm sounds so our hearts melted when he did it.

I don't think he'll be ready for food for a while yet as he still only drinks 150ml every 4 hours. I have started offering 180ml but he never finishes a bottle.

Anyway must go, it's bath time.

Jen the paed suggested solids because Mikayla wasnt drinking much milk (lactose intolerance & reflux) and wasn't putting on enough weight. He said there was no harm in starting solids early. Even Heinz are now making pureed food for 4month olds & same with farex rice cereal.

Deb I'd been thinking of adding pureed fruit to the farex but a friend gave me the pear & banana flavoured one so I decided against adding anything else to it. I tried the chicken & sweetcorn tonight and she loved it but will still only have a teaspoon or so. I cant believe Aiden is eating a whole jar full. Sounds like you've got a great eater on your hands How is he going with the Losec?? Mikayla hates it and spits it out. She was great when she first started taking it but now its really hard to get her to have much at all and the reflux is starting to become a problem again. Do you know whether it would be OK to mix it into her bottle??? Thats the only chance I have of her keeping any of it down

Awww Sarah how cute is it that Lewis has started to chuckle. I cant wait to hear that first laugh from bubs. I think she's getting close but as much as I try I still havent been able to make her giggle :P As long as Lewis is content & thriving on formula alone then I suppose theres no real reason to put him on solids. Mikayla is only drinking 120mls every 4 hours too - sometimes even as little as 70mls. At times she drinks so quickly that I think oh wow she starving she might have a little extra but as soon as she hits that 90-100ml mark she slows right down and basically spits it out when she's had the 120ml. I never would have thought to put her on solids if our paed hadnt suggested it.

Tina - when i was giving Aiden losec, i was abit naughty. I used to just dissolve the tablet in about 20ml of boiling water in a bottle. Shake the crappers out of it till it fully dissolved, and, when cool, gave it to Aiden. about 50% of the time, he would get most of the tablet, not much particles left, sometimes, i would need to add abit more water to bottle. I butchered a teat to make the holes bigger to allow the bits to go thru. I never had any luck with the syringe. Are you using liquid or tablets? If you are using the liquid, i dont think it would matter to much if you mixed it with abit of water.
Now, since he is having solids, i have stopped the losec. He started the solids the Monday of the public holiday, and it was the following saturday that i stopped the losec. not intentionally, just, one night, he went to be really early, and i never gave it to him. The next morning, we went out, and i forgot about it again, and the sunday afternoon when i realised i had not given him the losec, and then realised that he had been fine without it, well, i just never bothered to give it to him. He does do little spews every now and then, just more dribble then actual vomit. He is abit more snuffly after a sleep, but, giving him the tablet was painfull, and, he is in not discomfort, so, i just leave him be.

Debbie - Mikayla's on the liquid and the pharmacist told me that the compounding process makes it salty and thats why she may not like the taste. Initially she was fine without it but now she's starting to projectile vomit again and I can tell that the discomfort is back because she's starting to cry, get upset and vomit even hours after a feed.

I posted this question in the reflux thread and someone suggested that you can get flavouring put into the syrup so I might speak to the pharmacist about that - otherwise I'll ring the paed and ask if I can mix it into her bottle because she doesnt seem to notice that its in there when I do that.

I'm glad Aiden is doing so well without it.

    Thanks xx

what formula have you got mikayla on? just curious, as, before i changed Aiden from a thickened formula to a normal formula, he started vomiting again as well, even whilst on the losec.
