Yes I break it in half and give it to him. He sucks on it and it just melts down. It gets everywhere! A friend of mine with a baby told me about them, I'm really stuck for snack ideas in between meals so this is a good one with it being rye aswell.

Hi everyone
I feel like I haven't been here for ages. So much to catch up on...
Missbanana - Hi, I'm not sure if we've met. Hope Dane is being more settled for you. Diana is going through a bit of a clingy phase too. Usually she's very social, but recently she's not so keen to be held by anyone other than mum or dad.
Hi to everyone else.
We've had an okay weekend. Yesterday we just hung out around the house, did the shopping, etc, and today we went to a bbq at my sister's. She moving up to Coffs Harbour in a couple of weeks, so I think I'm going to miss her, as I have no other family in Sydney at all. :( Although with technology being what it is, I'm sure we'll be able to keep in touch.
Diana is doing really well. She is pooping in the potty regularly . I think that we have gone through less nappies than usual this week, which is great, as nappies are not exactly cheap. Like some of the other bubs on here, Diana sometimes wakes during the night, but because her cot is next to our bed, I just take her out, put her on the breast. I feel lucky that I don't actually have to get up, as during the day she is very active. She is crawling everywhere and I have to watch her all the time, as no matter how many toys I put out for her, she will always go for the non-baby things that I forget to put out of reach. This morning she started pulling tissues out of a box and tried to eat them. I had to pull a piece of chewed up tissue out of her mouth! She doesn't seem to be getting any more teeth at the moment (just has two bottom ones), although seems cranky for no clearly identified reason sometimes, so maybe another tooth is on its way.
Hope you all have a good night. I have to get up early tomorrow to go to an ABA meeting, and then tidy my house for the pest controllers to come in the afternoon. We have had ****roaches in the flat for several months now and nothing seems to be getting rid of them, so it is time to call in the professionals. Hope the treatment works.
Hi all!!!
Starfish - ooh! hope those roaches are dealt with once and for all love! Its so true how little ones show us all those things we didn't think of  right down to that little piece of fluff I missed! lol! And woohoo on more poos in potty!! You're right, nappies are expensive suckers aren't they! So thankful now that DD#1 only uses one per day for overnight now, whoopee!!
Princessmya & Starfish - haven't forgotten about the agent thing.....friends have recently moved interstate so am hoping to get an answer soon. Sorry for the delay girls.
Princessmya - I hope AF comes knocking soon so you can get stuck in TTC!!
Missbanana - Wow! Dane is getting his teeth super fast, clever boy!! And I completely understand that things seem so much more intense and full on where sleep deprivation is an issue. Oh hearing you on that one! Sometimes though I feel so embarrassed when I'm rested and I look back at how I reacted when tired....... but really, when in the midst of it, its not like I was firing on all cylinders iykwim, lol!
Debbie - verdict on AF?? Really am crossing my fingers for you love! So cute on Aiden shaking his head, hehe. How is he sleeping now?
MumofLewis - did you score a stroller??? We are thinking of getting a little fold away one so it doesn't take up much room in the boot as we are going away for almost 2weeks in May
Hi to everyone else! Hope mummy and babies are doing really well and having lots of fun.
Well we've had such a fun day........... went all focussed and started to get stuck into the housework only to discover we have drain issues.......convinced by our washing machine emptying itself all over the laundry floor which then flowed out into the kitchen and towards DD#2's bedroom. Thank goodness its all tiled!!!!!!!!!! I dumped a bed sheet at the rivers edge, lol, to stop it on its way to the bedrooms (carpeted) and again, thankfully, won that round, lol! So am now waiting for the plumber. But DH is off to rescue my poor sister who had her wisdom teeth taken out last Thursday and she is now so sick she can't swallow even her antibiotics so DH, the precious love, is off to take her to the doctors. I wanted to but DD#2 is due for a bf and its pot luck whether the doctors run on time or not so didn't want to risk leaving a starving munchkin!
DD#1 has started dance/movement classes - so so so cute!! She has so much energy and we've noticed when any music and/or dancing comes on TV she stops whatever she is doing and is completely mesmerised by it, even if its just an ad. I wanted her to have some freedom and the ballet classes just seemed too rigid iykwim so was so glad when I came across this class. They encourage parents to get involved too, yay and they are set up so each child can learn at their own pace. My hour of being a complete nut! Hehe! So DD#1 & I are going to make it our special weekly date as after we will go to a cafe for a drink and morning tea. (Nanna or DH will look after DD#2 as its between feeds) So fun!
Well, must dash, DD#2 awake, plumber due any minute (hope he rocks up soon coz busting for loo!! lol!!)
Chat soon lovelies!
Mwa!!
Quick one, Charly I have bid on a new stroller on ebay, but target have some for $35 and Kmart has one in the sale this week for $59.99 so pretty cheap.
Sarah - thanks, i will give that one a go. I have been giving him milk arrowroot biscuits as a snack, especially good to give to him when DH & I are eating our tea, he likes to be eating as well. He loves them, and they have really helped him with learning to chew.
I will try the cruskets, i prefer something abit healthier for him.
Does anyone else have this issue - I really worry about making sure Aiden eats healthy food, but, i never worry about myself eating healthy??
I know what you mean Debbie....classic example just today: DD#2 had vegies for lunch and DD#1 had cheese and vegemite sandwiches with apple, sultanas and yoghurt on the side with a little treat of half a small wagon wheel.
I had a pie with sauce which I am eating now
hey everyone
just a quick post to say hi and let you all know we're still around and reading all the happenings
Debbie - yep totally agree I was sitting eating a McD's burger while giving Jackson his sweet potato and avocado (I felt horrible afterwards - no wonder I hardly eat it)
Jackson is now having 3-4 solid meals a day - banana and rice cereal for breakfast, vegetables or jar of baby food for lunch(depending on how organised I am) , occasionally half a banana or stick of toast for afternoon tea and then vegies with some tofu blended in for tea - he's still having 3-4 breast feeds a day as well - I'm prob going to have to start giving him formula during the day as expressing milk at work is not going very well (lack of time and not getting enough milk)
DS is now 8.3 kg, not sure how long he is but I'm going to get him measured soon
will come back and do some personals soon when I've finished catching up on everyone's news
Love Mel
Hi Mel,
Just a quick question, how does Jackson get on eating toast? I want to give Lewis bread or toast but I worry about him choking. Does he chew it okay?
Hi everyone, sorry havnt been around in a while, combining night work and 2 children is causing havoc with my sleep patterns
I dont finish till midnight and by the time i hava shower and wind down its around 1.30-2ish ..the kids are still waking up at the same time as usual Ashlyn still wakes through the night anywhere from 12.30-3am then up for the day around 7am so im not getting alot of sleep!!
I took Ashlyn for her 6 month check up  she was due for it on xmas day so everything has been closed so i finally got an appointment with our nurse yesterday,
She weighs 7.3kg & 69cm long..she is underweight for her length though,
I have been a bit worried about her weight as she only put on 200g in a month where the nurse said at that stage she should be putting on 100g week, they arnt worried because it wasnt like she was gaining weight then lost a heap, she is just putting it on slowly, she started on the 50th percentile line in the graph and is now on the 25th line.
The nurse wants me to drop a bottle feed and give her extra food, so goodbye night feed!!!
Mumoflewis....I gave Ashlyn a vegemite sandwhich yesterday only 1 slice of bread crusts cut of and in pieces and she inhaled it pretty much , the only reason why i did was because the day before rylan left a sandwhich on his plate on the floor and when i came back into the room she was munching away!!
The nurse said that its fine for them to start eating normal foods and to make it a little more chunky now, so they start chewing!!
OMG my baby is growing up too fast
Thanks Rylansmum for that, I will try him on bread then, how exciting.
And you must be some kind of superwoman to do your nights and then get up for the kids. I will never moan about being tired after my two 9-5 hours again!
Hi ladies.
Just dropping in quickly in between Mikayla's breakfast and bottle feed!
Havent had a chance to read all your posts but noticed some of you were talking about cruskits. I had heard that they were ideal because they basically melt in your mouth but just wanted to say "watch the salt content!". I bought a pack yesterday and looked at the box last night and noticed that each biscuit contains approx 50mg of sodium which to me sounds pretty high. I bought the "light" ones thinking that it'd be better to give her those as they're low in sat fat so not sure if salt content would be different in original or other types.
Mikayla is still not sleeping well at home. My sister flew in from London on Sunday so she had a sleep over at mum's in her portable cot and slept right through. Monday night she was back at home in her cot and once again had a night terror. Last night we brought the portable home from mums to see whether it was her cot that was the problem and although she slept for longer periods, she still woke at 4.30am in a horrible state  We're going to try the portable cot in another room tonight as we're now thinking maybe its her room. Not sure what else to do. There is something about our house that is causing her to have these terrors as it only happens at home. I wonder if we're haunted!!!!!
Will be back later to read some more and do some personals.
Take care xx
Rylansmum - I got Diana weighed and measured yesterday and she is almost the same size as Ashlyn (68.5cm, 7.4kg). The CHN said that she's doing well and that she is just going to tall and skinny. So if Ashlyn is gaining weight steadily, maybe its just genetics??
Hi all, just a quick drop in.
I am having trouble getting Angus to eat solids. He absolutely hates the rice cereal, even mixed with banana or mango - he dry retches and gags and spits it all out. He doesn't like eating anything really from a spoon no matter how hard I try, just doesn't take it off the spoon and if I tip it in, he coughs or pushes it out with his tongue. He will eat some fruit using a little device he got for Christmas which is basically a mesh bag with a handle, he'll chomp and suck on the fruit through that sometimes. But he shows no signs of wanting to eat from the spoon, he prefers to play with the spoon and have boobies! I'm getting tired of being on call for boobies all the time (some days every 1-2 hrs) and would love him to do two things: 1) eat more solids (2) take EBM from his sippy cup with spout. I've got a 4 day course in a couple of weeks and I have no idea how we'll manage things! HELP ME!!!!
Hi
I was wondering if I might be able to join your group. Our little boy Lachlan was born 18th June 2007.
He has just moved to bottle feeding and is happily (most of the time) exploring the world of solids.
Although like your little man Feathertop Lachlan hates rice cereal, but he will happily have vegetables, fruit, yoghurt etc.
I hope that I haven't gatecrashed. I've never used this forum before but am keen to be able to talk with parents of children the same age as Lachlan as we face milestones, challenges etc around the same time.
welcome canberramum - feel free to join in
I have just been giving Jackson toast with the crusts off and he usually sucks/chews it a bit and I am left with soggy bits everywhere but he does seem to enjoy it - I got told by the ECHN to toast the bread as its easier for them to deal with as they can choke a bit on lumps of regular bread
Feathertop - Jackson is still waking at night around 3am as well - and I'm just about out of ideas - got told by the ECHN to change his cot position and keep him cool but he still wakes - hugs to you - I would call the tresilian help line
hi to everyone else
Mel
oops just realised it was Mikayla with the sleeping issues not Angus - sorry my brain is fried from a course all day
not sure what advice to give re solids - I just persisted with Jackson and now he eats everything - he def doesn't like rice cereal tho so maybe try some pureed veg or fruit on its own?
Hey feathertop!
Caeleb isn't the best eater either. He LOVES fruit, but getting him to eat veg is almost impossible. He HATED rice ceral too. We now give him Rafferty's (I think that's what it's called) baby porridge. Caeleb LOVES the orange one, it's apricot and banana, mixed with some milk.
Welcome Canberramum!!! The more the merrier. :)
I feel like such a bad Mum. I had to run out early this morning and meet a tradesman at the investment property, so I just grabbed a tin of apples for Caeleb's breakfast. When I fed him, I just pulled the lid half up and was spooning it straight out of the tin. BIG MISTAKE. Caeleb made a grab for the tin (which I thought was out of his reach) and cut the side of his hand on the lid!!! It was only a small cut, but it bled. I feel terrible. Such a stupid, stupid thing to do! He's fine, he only cried for a couple seconds, but it doesn't make me feel any better.
Celsie. xoxox
Hi,
Welcome Canberramum, the more the merrier :D
Oh Celsie, don't be too hard on yourself, we learn by our mistakes, like me yesterday putting Lewis too close to the mirrored wardrobe so he fell back and knocked his head
Food wise, I'm lucky that Lewis eats anything, he is like a hoover. But Feathertop, they really need extra iron now they are over 6 months so maybe you should call tresillian to get some ideas. What about yoghurt? Or ricotta with veggies stirred through to disguise the taste? They do say it takes a while for that tongue reflex to stop before they will hold the food in their mouth. What a headache for you.
Teepee - I didn't really think about the sodium level in the cruskits. I worked out that half a biscuit has about 15mg. What is classed as high and low levels, do you know what their daily intake should be? I've been avoiding tinned baby food due to the salt level and here I am loading him up with cruskits!
Oh well better get back to the pile of ironing. Swimming lessons again tomorrow, hope Lewis still likes it.
canberramum, welcome dont feel like a intruder...i did when i first jumped on aswell lol.
Celsie..you are not the only one who has done it..i did the exact same thing when Rylan was a baby but i had to put a bandaid on it cause it kept bleeding..he got himself right in the knuckle fold thingy..
Starfish Its definately not genetics...well not mine anyway LOL...im not worried she is eating and drinking enough she is just a little weed LOL
Feathertop Another option to the rice cereal could be porridge or weet bix with formula or BM..the nurse told me it was ok because i told her i gave Ashlyn weetbix when we run out of cereal and she said thats fine you can also try porridge..they can pretty much have the same foods as us now but with limits obviously.
Ashlyn loves my homemade spaghetti bolognaise (sp),chicken veg and pasta soup, she has just discovered vegemite sandwhiches and is loving it and she also steals rylans chippies and sucks away!!
You just have to be ready to dive into and feel confident..if they arnt interested just give them time and hopefully they will come around... i know that doesnt help when you feel like a walking milkbar!!
Take care ladies
PS..are we allowed to post pics in the actual forum like photobucket??
Hi everyone
Diana did two poos in the potty today. (None in the nappy, woo hoo.) I have also finally finished a painting for Diana that I started shortly after she was born. (I put a picture of it in my photo gallery if anybody wants to have a look.) Now I need to find somewhere to hang it. Our stupid apartment has brick walls, so can't put a hook in anywhere. At the moment it is hung with blu-tack. Hope it stays up.
Welcome Canberramum. :)
Feathertop - :hugs: Hope Angus starts eating better soon. I'm sure that he'll get the hang of it shortly. Until about 12 months, any solids they eat are for tasting rather than nutrition, so maybe try again in a week or two. (I know this doesn't help when you feel like a walking milk factory, but just remember that it won't last forever.)
Hi to everyone else.
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum. I have a 7.5 month old.
Mel- I have similar issues with our baby, he too wakes during the night more than once, last night he woke around 4 times to snack on his bottle. We have put the portacot in our room as we struggled to trek the hallway opening doors to get to his room through out the night. I know a portacot is no meant to replace his cot, but I am not sure what else to do. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has similar issues or tips on how we can get our little one to sleep longer and stop snacking :)
Hi everyone!
I just found this site. Hope you won't mind me gatecrashing.
Tadhg is now 7.5 months and we are due for our 8mth check up next week. I have been very lucky that Tadhg has been sleeping through at night since 4mths old. He started on solids at just after 5mths and loves sweet things esp. banana. He had rice cereal and now is on Bellamy's organic baby porridge which is oat cereal.
Eearly this week, we got a phone call from a childcare offering us a full time position. It is sad to think that I've only got one more month before sending DS to childcare. I'm hoping that he will enjoy playing/socialising with other babies. Just wondering if any of you are experiencing the similar emotion??
Yay and welcome to Canberramum, Jadelil & Elliebelly!! So great to have more on board - increases the chances of chatting more often as we are all so busy with our fast growing littl'ns that sometimes getting on here is near impossible! ;) Lol!! Oh Elliebelly, how do you pronounce your bubby's name? I love how different it is!
Will bbl to do personals but must dash and wash, clean, feed, tidy, stay awake (lol!).........so same deal for all! ;)
Mwa!!
Hi Everyone,
Ellie- I can't wait til DS sleeps through the night even 5 hours would be great!! I know how you feel with the whole childcare thing. I too have to return to work in the next month and am dreading as the day draws closer. Though I think if you have found a great childcare with good staff to baby ratio, and it offers everything you are looking for, then he will enjoy the interaction with other babies. I know that when I take my son to swimming each week he just wants to jump right in and splash around with the other bubs. I am hoping that I won't end up in a pool of tears when I drop our little man off to childcare in the not so distant future :)
Okeedokee, Playschool is on so DD#1 is relaxed ("put on your hat, ladadidadida....") DD#2 is asleep and DH is having coffee with a client (unbelievable! he gets the cafe and coffee! Lol!) so thought I'd grab a warm milo and come and catch up with y'all! Hehe!
Rylansmum - are you getting any more sleep?? How is dropping the night feed going for you? You're right too - how fast are our little ones growing up?!?! It occurred to me that its now only 1 week til DD#2 is officially 8months meaning that its only 4 months til her 1st birthday!!! Yikes!!!
MumofLewis - I am very embarrassed  I don't even work and yet of late have been feeling absolutely exhausted! I didn't even bother with the dishes last night so yay, they are waiting for me in the sink *sigh* So you working ladies are truly amazing!!
Teepee2 - oh how's Mikayla lovey? Any success in her cot again? Oh the poor little precious! That's really odd too not being able to sleep in her room. Could it be that she just feels lonely so sleeps better with people around atm? Or is she sleeping well in the porta cot in a room by herself? Thinking of you lovey and sending you
Feathertop - A friend of mine has a friend who's little one won't eat anything except finger food! They too were simply not the least bit interested in spoons but enjoyed picking up and smooshing food in their mouth. Sounds particularly messy but that's all that the little one complied with  I hope Angus catches on soon so you can do your course with no worries and feel completely relaxed! Hows your DH by the way?
Celsie - oh lovey! Don't feel bad sweety! Little ones are so quick aren't they and I've noticed that they point out everything we've missed! Definitely keep us on our toes little gorgeous monkeys! How's your DH going these days??
Sending  to you Jadelil & Elliebelly re: going back to work. We're all here for you and so many know what you will be going through. xx
Well, DD#2 is commando crawling, no stopping her! DD#1 is on the way to picking up that its not the done thing to sit, lay or squash your baby sister! not to worry, lol! We have a play tunnel that when DD#1 was a bub, she was very wary of and would look through it and play on the outside. Took ages before she would crawl in it. DD#2?.............well I have walked into the room and seen the tunnel roll all by itself as she has wormed her way right in to the middle of it and then rolled!! :cryinglaugh: So funny!
Its official!! I have booked our 2 week holiday in May! Woooooooooooooohoooooooooooo!!! I have bee hanging out for a real holiday for so long now and with the year that was last year, I really need to get away from it all iykwim. So its the Great Ocean Road here we come as we have never been that way to Melbourne before. I am so excited as its only 87 sleeps til we leave!!! (can you tell I'm excited!) We haven't been on a proper holiday since our honeymoon almost a decade ago, yeesh! Oh we've gone to catch up with family interstate but that's been our objective, not necessarily having a real holiday if that makes sense. Always nice to see family of course but this is our first holiday since being married where its just about our little family unit.......so yay!! Only need to find a couple of stop over accommodation for the way home but we're all booked for the first 11 nights. Oh goodness! So excited - have a silly grin from ear to ear as I think about it! Lol!!
Jen - how are you love? How is Mackenzies sleeping going?
Missbanana - how are things with Dane? How is his teething? Are your nights more settled?
Debbie - have I missed a post? Haven't seen anything re: AF not showing or showing? Hang on, will check pg announcements...........nope nothing there, hehe! How are things with Aiden?
And to all the other ladies, Starfish, Princessmya & Mel_thekiwimum......ooh, hope I haven't missed anyone of recent....Naomi54???
Hope all are well, best dash now as Playschool is over, DH is back (client didn't show up) and I really should do those dishes and that darn ironing, blah blah blah! Lol!!
Mwa!!
Hi ladies.
Mikayla's watching Raggs so I've got a minute to come in and catch up.
Welcome to Canberramum, JadeLil & Elliebelly!! Look forward to getting to know you and learning all about your little ones.
Rylansmum your allowed to post links to photos in photobuck but not actually allowed to post the pics in the thread. You can also upload photos to you BB photo gallery (click on the link under your details in right hand side of your post)
Sarah I didnt think the cruskits would have had a lot of sodium either until i checked the box. Mikayla absolutely loves them. She devoured a whole one the other day with a bit of vegemite smeared on it. I think I'll still give them to her but not so often. Do you know of anything similar that can be substituted??
Celsie - poor Caeleb! I hope his hand has all healed up and he's forgotten all about it - but I'm sure he probably did that not long after it happened! Dont punish yourself - accidents will happen
Jade Mikayla has always been a bad sleeper and is now having night terrors so I can sympathise with having to get up so often. We too have started putting Mikayla into her portable cot but we've got it in her room. She seems to be sleeping a bit better in there as opposed to her regular cot - dont know why that is but I'll be leaving her in her portable for as long as it takes!!
Feathertop just persist with the solids - it took Mikayla a while to get used to it too. Maybe give him a break and try again every few days until he's happy to start eating. Have you tried using different spoons?? It could be that he doesnt like the size or shape of the spoon your using - worth a try anyway :D
A lot has been happening her lately. Last saturday night our lounge room and garage got flooded with the torrential rain we've been having in Sydney. Mikayla's rug and toys and our surround sound speakers were all damaged. Some of the furniture was sitting in water too so we're just in the process of claiming it all on insurance - a bit of a headache really - and the house is still a mess! My sister arrived from London on Sunday for the Christening so thats put a hold on cleaning up too.
Mikayla still isnt saying "dada" just "mama" & "baba" but she has started to say Hi when she sees you pick up the phone. Its sooo cute. This morning I picked up my mobile and said "mama's going to ring dada now" and she looked up and repeated "ai" over and over!! She's even started saying it to the TV remote - she must think its a phone :D
She's getting a bit restless now. Raggs must be getting boring - better go.
Will try to BBL.
Sorry if I missed anyone. Will read over again later.
Take care xx
Hi all - and welcome newbies.
Well, AF showed up - and it was quite a painfull show as well, physically, and mentally. I was soo sure i was UTD. So, am feeling really really bummed atm.
Aiden is going great. He loved swimming lessons. We also went to the beach for the first time on Tuesday. He sat on the sand and babbled to the ocean. He is sitting great as well, and eating like a legend.
I did a great cook up for him on Tuesday - apple, pear, brocolli, cauli, baked sweet potatoe, and pumpkin. mashed them all up, and into individual bags, about 90-100gms in each, and he has 3 for lunch, and 3 for dinner. Plus, sometimes a yoghurt as well. Loves his veges.
For breakfast, generally, he has fruit, either apple or pear, or maybe banana, rockmellon, or peach. This morning, he had apple, and to milk arrowroot biscuits disolved in water.
Might try a vege sandwich today (thanks rylansmum :)) He has has abit of vege on toast and loves that.
He has a cold as well. Our air con broke, so, he has been sleeping at nights with a pedestal fan on him, and i think its given him a cold. Killed him with kindness so to speak.
Anyway, i have to go, will bbl to read and catch up on posts..
Hi everyone
Just popping in to wish you all a good weekend.
DH, Diana and I went shopping this afternoon and bought Diana her first doll. She looks so cute playing with it. We also went to Baby Kingdom and found a good playpen, which wasn't too expensive, only to be told that they had none in stock and that we couldn't have the display model. They ordered one in, which will be there next week, so we have to put up with energizer baby crawling everywhere for the next few days. I found the same playpen on ebay. The auction finishes on Sunday, so if the price is right, I might try and get that one to have it earlier.
Tina - so sorry to hear about the flood damage. Hope the insurance pays out. When is Mikayla's christening? Hope it goes well. :)
Charly - yay on booking your holiday! Hope it all goes really well for you. LOL on DD2 rolling in the tunnel. Must have looked so cute.
Debbie - good to hear that Aiden is doing great! Sorry to hear that AF has returned. Hope you feel better soon.
Hi to everyone else.
BTW, I have finally updated Diana's site if anyone wants to have a look.
Hi Girls,
Welcome to the new Mums, it's great hearing about new bubs!
Debbie - Sorry to hear your AF arrived. Just think each AF that comes is one closer to getting a BFP! Well that's how I used to look at it, not that it did much good for a while there:rolleyes: But it will come.
Tina - Sorry to hear about your flooding, what a pain, especially when your sister is here.
Starfish - I'm hunting on ebay too for a playpen or gate, I think I will get a playpen that opens up to a room divider because we have a big opening that's too big for a gate.
Elliebelly I can really understand how you feel about childcare, it's only natural. My MIL looks after Lewis and I was very teary the first week but I know he is fine and you do get used to it. Mel the Kiwi Mum had the same experience too and she will probably tell you that Jackson is loving it now. I really appreciate my time with Lewis now and I think he receives better attention from me as we have less time together.
Lewis has been doing his usual and waking up at 4.30am and not going backto sleep for 2 hours. But this morning he woke up at 5am and then after his bottle he went straight back to sleep until 700am! It was great. He had a late night last night , 8pm instead of 7pm so maybe that was it.
I tried him with a bit of toast but it just stuck to the top of his mouth. Does that happen to anyone else? Do you leave it or fish it out?
His crawling is developing, he now shuffles his legs forward and then lifts his right arm and it kind of swings in the air for a few seconds before he does his belly flop! His left arm is fixed solidly to the ground!
Well it's miserable today, we are just off to Aldi to stock up on nappies and wipes. Does anyone else use Aldi nappies? They're great and much cheaper than Huggies.
Oh and BTW Target have a great baby sale on this week, cheap clothes and nursery things.
Hi to everyone else. Oh and Charly I am very jealous to hear of your hols! Lucky you it will be lovely
Hi all,
Thank you for the warm welcome!
Clarlyfrog - Tadhg is pronounced as Tige, ie tiger without the 'r". DH and I call him Tigey Bear. Tadhg is ancient galic for Poet - DH is Irish. We also have a very nice Irish girl name. Maybe we can use it next time???
Congrats on your holiday booking. We love the Great Ocean Rd, it's breathtaking! We got married on the beach just outside Appolo Bay. We still go there as much as we can. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Jadelil - Talking about a good night sleep. Tigey Bear slept 13.5 hours last night!
I'm trying to make this childcare thing a positive change. Hopefully this mindset will make it earsier for Tigey Bear, DH and I. If there is any consolation, I read somewhere on BB that younger the bubby, easier it is for them to adapt. Let's just enjoy the time together with our bubbies.
I read some of the posts as I'm still learning the names of the baby buddies and trying to follow your stories. Hopefully I will be able to contribute to the conversation as I get to know you better.
When Tigey Bear stared solids, the MHN told me that he will slowly reduced the amount of formula he is taking to around 700ml per day. Now two months later, he is still taking just over 1 liter of milk plus 2-3 solids a day. What are your bubbies having?
p.s. Can't do spell check for some reason??
Sarah and Elliebugs[/COLOR] - couldn't agree more - the first couple of weeks of child care were pretty hard - more for me than for Jackson - but I can see he absolutely loves it and I definitely make the most of our time together now
Sarah - sounds like Lewis and Jackson are on the same sleep pattern at night - waking at 4:30 and occasionally at midnight as well depending on what time he went to sleep - Jackson will usually go back to sleep for around an hour and a half so I don't often have to set my alarm cos he usually wakes me at 6 - and I've just started using Aldi nappies - found our local Aldi at Nth Strathfield and they're awesome
Charly - yay on the holiday - I'm sure you'll have an incredible trip - you'll have to tell us all about it when you get back , I would love to do the Great Ocean Rd trip - we're going to the USA in May for my brothers wedding and I'm like you already counting down the sleeps - 88 for us now
hi to everyone else - better go and get Jackson ready for bed
Mel
Hello lovely June Mums!
We've been MIA as I've returned to work two days a week and now have to squeeze five days housework and raising my child into three!
Big news!!! HE CRAWLS!!! Finally! LOL I think he's the last one in our mother's group to do so. Also, he said "Mum". He calls for me when he's upset. Winge and then Mum... sooooo cute!!!
I've started to make my own baby food as Caeleb is refusing to eat the commercial stuff. And it's YUM!! I'm so proud of myself. :)
I heard a rumour that one of our girls is pregnant, although it doesn't look like she's been in here to tell us...
Celsie. xoxox
Who's pregnant???????????????
Oh please do tell
I've had to go in to work a fair bit lately because we're one man down so havent had much of a chance to post.
We have 2 teeth!!!! One is about half way out and the other has just broken through the gum. FINALLY!! I hope this means we'll get some sleep at night now. Well at least until the next lot come through.
We have Mikayla's Christening on Sunday so its been pretty busy here. My sister bought a gown over from London. Its a traditional long, ivory gown and its absolutely gorgeous.
Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for the lack of personals will try to come back later tonight to catch up on the new posts.
Well i'm sneaking off to check the pregnancy announcement thread b4 i get Mikayla her bottle...
WHO'S PREGGERS???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PUT YOUR HAND UP!
Hey Tina, it's Lewis's christening on Sunday too! I'm just making some white chocolate truffles to serve with the coffee. YUM!
LOL - I don't think I should be the one to tell... but if you look in the TTC 1-6 month treads, you might find someone you know.
Celsie. xoxox
p.s. Tina - if that gown is raw silk, don't get ANYTHING on it, it can't be cleaned. :(
Ahhhhh thanks for the clue Celsie I just found our winner!!
Congratulations my dear I'm so so so happy for you MWA! :happyforyou:
Hope it ends up being a nice day for us Sarah - this Sydney weather has been atrocious lately hasnt it. We're having ours at a restaurant - just not enough room at home. Were you the one who was making the cookies?? If you were I stole your idea :D I made some little bags for the kiddies with 3 ginger cookies in them (2 stars and a butterfly). It was a brilliant idea - thanks!! Lewis is going to look so handsome in his new little outfit - cant wait to see the photos. Hope you have a great day xx
Yes Celsie it is raw silk. Thanks for the heads-up. I'd hate for something to happen to it as my sister and I want it to be a family heirloom!! We tried it on Mikayla today - perfect fit - the only problem is she moves around too much - I thought she was going to tear it!!
Tina - even water will stain raw silk. Caeleb has massive drool marks on his romper that didn't come out when they were dry cleaned. I highly suggest getting her dressed at the church and then a matching silk bib! GOOD LUCK MIKAYLA & LEWIS!!!

Tina - We are having our christening in a restaurant too, but the restaurtant where DH is a chef so we are catering it ourselves. Well DH is, I"m just supervising!
The weather says 23 and fine at the moment, but who knows. Not exactly hot though.
Can't wait to see Mikayla's dress! Don't forget the hairband :p:lol:
