Hi girls,

Well first of all A HUGE BIG CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WE ALL MADE IT IN THE END!

Since everyone has told there birth story i might as well give a brief version to you all of mine:

It was about 1.30am on Thurs morning and i woke my Dh up to say i think we need to call the hospital as my contractions are getting closer and closer. I went to the loo while he called and my show had started. Since it was my 2nd child the midwife told DH to come in to the hospital but don't break the speed limit.

I arrived at the hospital and my contractions were so painful and close it was shocking. I couldn't remember it being this bad for my first DD. The wheelchair came out and up i went into the birthing suite. I was told to do a urine sample and then to get comfy and all of that. The contractions were strong and close now so i asked for gas. On went the gas and i sucked away at that.

The next thing i knew the gas just wasn't working so the midwife turned it up for me. After about another 1/2hr i said this gas is not doing anything at all can i have a shot of pethadine. Off she went to check with the Ob as he was not in yet. I had one jab and it didn't kick in for a while at all. I was nearly breaking DH hand when the contractions came.

I then felt as if i had done a pee in the bed so i got DH to get the midwife and she said it was my waters breaking. Oh thankgod for that i thought not long to go now! Then i wanted to push the midwife tiold me to hang on she didn't realise i had already had one baby and i didn't need to hang on. I screamed at her and said "HANG ON I CAN'T HANG ON" so i just pushed and something just went POP and it was the rest of my waters the next minute i knew i was pushing again and i felt a slight stinging sensation and i knew Shayla's head had come out, i looked down and i couldn't believe it. Then another push and out she came my beautiful daughter number two. I had a 4 hour labour all up and my ob missed the whole thing Pam my midwife delivered Shayla for me. The next minute my Ob turned up and i remember i said to him " Your a bit late your wages should go to Pam" the Pethadine had kicked in too late thats for sure, we all thought it would take alot longer than 4 hours.

Shayla weighed a Wopping 10pound 6 (4.555 kg) she was born at 5.30am Thursday the 28th June 2007. I couldn't be happier.

Thats my brief story of labour for you all to read.

Anyway i have been out of hospital for 9 days today and things are going good. I had a few days were i was so sore from having a few stitches internally but it was all bruising in the lower area for me mainly. I then got internal hemerroids from the pressure which really was a PAIN IN THE B****t!

In the last couple of days i have felt alot better but i am ver sore and bruised still so hopefully this will all go soon.

I am not sure how many of youhave other kids but i have another DD who is coming up 16mths on the 22nd. This has been another life changing experience and i must say i am extremely busy with a toddler and new born. I knew i would be but gosh it is full on! I think the hardest part is that i am so sore i am finding it hard to play with DD#1 so i am just reading to her, she seems to be ok with that though thankgod. Fortuneatly she is not jealous at all of Shayla and kisses and cuddles her all the time as well as trys to pick her up it is very cute really.

Well must be off but thats my long post for the week i will try and keep up with you all but please forgive me if i don't. I hope all of you are doing well and that your bubbas do give you some sleep and rest soon.

Jen
