Funkeefrog - Yeah, the night wakings are new but the 2hrly during the day has been pretty consistant since birth.
Good news is that Immy's first tooth has broken the surface so I think things will calm down a bit from here? It has been a bit of a nightmare because DP has been working double shifts, back to back (leaving at 5:30 in the morning and not getting home to 10:30 at night). I called my parents last night after she had been crying for 2hrs straight (even after panodol) and they came round and kept me company until DP got home... I felt completely defeated having to do that :(
I have another question... Imogen has been rolling front to back for a while but I've noticed she only ever goes over her left side (pushing off her right hand and foot), she never rolls over her right... is that normal? I tried last night to sit on the other side to encourage going the other way but as soon as she was on her tummy she was rolling over the left onto her back so didn't work out too well. I'm assuming it will come with time and it isn't anything to be too concerned over but just wanted to check with you expert ladies haha.

Oh and I hope everyone is doing okay... sorry my brain is not working too well at this point.

wow immy got her first tooth pretty early! hope the teething pain settles soon poor little poppet. hey jess, dont worry about asking your family for help, the way i look at it that is what they are there for! if my parents lived near by i would be calling them everyday! :-) i dont think there is a problem with rolling only on one side. to tell you the truth i havent noticed which way chels is rolling but i will pay more attention and get back to you. but i am sure it is just something she will learn in time.
oh my goodness, something is going very wrong in our house! LOL my little darlin will just not sleep! argh! she woke up at 7:30am (well thats when we got out of bed) for the day and i think she had about 2 naps of 10mins, during the morning then 20mins at 1pm then 30 mins at 3:30 and thats it! she is tired but just wont go to sleep and when she does will wake soon after being put down. i went through this with DD1 and it sux! LOL i hope her sleeping gets good again.
its really wierd cause i know she can self settle, she put herself to sleep about 2 weeks ago and now all of a sudden she cant sleep at all! maybe it is her teeth playing up too, she has a couple lumps under her gums, nothing coming through yet though.
anyway, better go. take care

JB Maddi would only roll one way for the longest time, then one day she started rolling both ways. My health nurse never said anything about it & now Kodi is the same only rolls one way.
Having kids is hard work JB you should never feel bad asking for help. There have been times where Kodi would cry for hours & nothing i did helped. So i've had to put her in her bassinette and walk away for a few mins just to calm myself down. Don't even get me started on Maddi lol
I promise the crying gets easier to deal with
-
yep, mo is right, babies (and big kids) are hard work and the crying gets to all of us at some stage or another, its normal.
oh my god! i got my ergo in the mail today and i put it on quickly to see how it worked. chelsea went in the front super easy! then i tried hannah on the back, super easy again! we went for a walk to the shop and it is sooo comfortable. chelsea woke from her 20 min nap, then i put her in and we went out for the walk. she slept the whole time. when we got home i had my hands free to get lunch for hannah and myself and then popped chelsea out of the ergo and into her cot and she stayed asleep. its a miracle! LOL
hmm.. well she is awake after 5 mins, so i guess something dont change!
-
Hollo the Ergo's are good, but i'm very tall & they just don't sit well on me.
It's great that both girls love it :)
If anyone wants an Ergo let me know, i would prefer it went to one of you lovely ladies than just sit in my cupboard :)

hi all,
well, ive been MIA for a while...lets just say i have had a very unsettled bub, so i have very little time to go online!
Most recently Amelia has had an ear infection/runny nose/cough/diarrhea...aaaah! its been really tough but i think were coming out the other end now!
next hurdle is to get the 4month needles...hmmm....
ive tried to read back a bit, but im not even going to attempt personals at this stage...but it sounds like theres lots going on...teething already JB? thats amazing!
-
Yep, the bottom front right tooth is already through the gum and I think the left one might not be too long behind. So we have finally got passed that hurdle but have hit another... I've got mastitus! So I'm feeling a bit like death right now but have started the antibiotics and with any luck it will be cleared up quick smart. Just when I thought I had the hang of this breastfeeding thing doh!
Hope everyone is feeling alright xo

-
Tina hope Amelia feels better soon & doesn't get sick again for a very long time.
JB-Ouch on the Mastitis, I truly dread getting that & i hope that i never do. I don't know how i would look after 2 kids.
Hope you feel asap
-
Phoenix - thankyou, i hope she doesnt get sick for a long time again too!!!
JB - i feel for you, ive had mastitis twice...just make sure you massage the breast as much as you can (even though it hurts), and get onto the antibiotics straight away...i did that the 2nd time and it was so much easier than the first time...
just wondering, how did you know that Immy was teething...Amelia is starting to really aggressively chew on her hands, but i cant see or feel any teeth just yet...
hope all of you had a great weekend, and are enjoying this great weather we are having at the moment :)

We didn't actually know know until we were at the doctors staring at a tooth so I'm no expert haha but she had been doing a few things that looking back were probably signs like excessive drooling, chomping on anything that got in range, more frequent dirty nappies, general unsettledness, becoming quite clingy and occasionally waking up crying (appearing to be in pain). I thought she was going through a wonder week at first but grew more concerned when it seemed like she wasn't her usual self which is why we asked the doc... I didn't really think it could be teeth although I had had a few comments that it might be because I thought she was too young!
The nappies were VERY different and although I have read that there is debate about whether this is a symptom of teething there was no mistaking that Imogen had a change! She went from once every 5-7 days to about 5 in the space of an hour (this was the morning we went to the doctor) and continued a high frequency for a few days past that. She didn't have a raised temp.
I hope Amelia is feeling better soon!
I'm feeling a lot better and we had a pretty nice weekend. Saturday we went to the shops and met my parents for lunch. Sunday we did the Spina Bifida walk and wheel along the river and then had friends over for the afternoon (playing guitar hero haha).
Imogen rolled the opposite way the other day (over her right side rather than over her left) so now I am wondering whether it was the first time or I just hadn't noticed before! It was actually really funny... me and DP were laying on either side of her while she was on her tummy, urging her to roll towards us! She rolled towards me twice and DP said it was because she could only go that way and turned her back onto her tummy but with her head facing the opposite way to see if now she would roll to him but nope, she rolled over to me for a third time!
He is getting really good with her. About two weeks ago, he noticed her books and questioned me "she is too little to be read to surely?" but I told him I had been doing it basically since he had gone back to work! So he scooped her up and read her a book. After he turned to me amazed and just said "I can't believe I have missed 4 months of doing this!" It was so very, very cute.
We are struggling a bit with Imogen's feeding and sleeping. It is all so unpredictable and I think I am mostly to blame. She is still feeding almost 2hrly but I started to stretch it out this weekend and we are at mostly 3-4hrly. I was really using food as a soother and so after baths, after drives, after anything different that occurred I would offer her food... turned her into a bit of a boobaholic. We are also trying to be more persistent and consistent with getting her to sleep! She is napping right now actually, hooray!
What sort of bedtime do all of your bubs have? We have been aiming for between 7 and 8 but it is like 2-3hrs of up and down (sleeping for 20-30mins and then needing resettling) so she doesn't get properly down till about 10pm... She has about 3 days sleeps - one at about 8, one at about 11 and one at about 2... two are for an hour and one is for about two hours - should we try to cut this down?
Sorry for mega long post, hope everyone had a lovely weekend xo

Jb good to hear your feeling better.
Kodi is the same with the boob, i think it's more of a comfort thing for her since she refuses a dummy.
Kodi goes down after M has gone to bed, otherwise M just wakes her up, as for day naps Immy will cut her day naps down when she's ready. I wouldn't worry about it, sounds like your doing an excellent job with her :)

i keep meaning to pop in here, but time gets the better of me.
I'm Ange, i'm 31. I have two beautiful girls about the same age as Mo's! *hi Mo*.
I might try and slot in here if you ladies don't mind. :D
-
Yay Ange about time you got your butt in here!
bbl Maddi is trying to brush Kodi's hair again.

Welcome Ange :)
Not much happening here! DD is getting better at going to bed, though. We just kept persisting with the 7pm bedtime and eventually, it stuck haha

Welcome Shannon & Olivia. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Well i'm sick with the icky flu & to make it worse i have a sore throat & i can barely talk cause it hurts so much :(
In other news Kodi now rolls both ways & she thinks she's so clever that she can roll from one side of the room to the other lol.
