Well Done Ella
Well for me it is offical I have done to much and my body has reatliated by giving me the flu so I am told to stay at home till Monday. Wear a Mask around Charlotte and sleep in a separate room to her and hubby so they are not exposed too much overnight :( I need to limit my contact with her for 2 days so Daddy is on duty good man and rest as much as I can so I can hopefully have the all clear on Monday
:hello: to everyone
-
Oh Linda you poor thing. Is it swine flu?
Hope you feel better soon, must be hard to limit your contact with Charlotte
-
thats no good linda! i hope it isnt swine flu. i often wonder how i would limit contact with chelsea if i were to get that, what with breastfeeding and all. hope you arent too sick!
-
oh no Linda!! hope u get over it quickly *hugs*
Susie seems to be breathing a lil better this evening, will see how she goes overnight. we bought a vaporiser so that'll be on all night .. hopefully all 3 of us will sleep well!!
-
 Yah three months today ....
and she is sleeping in this morning still not up and its past seven!
-
Linda Oh thats not good at all!!! I hope your feeling better soon and I hope Charlotte doesnt get sick too!
Kellbell Wow Ella is doing fabulous!! Time sure has flown hasnt it! I cant beleive it wont be too much longer and we will be discussing how introducing solids is going! Yikes!!
Winter seems to have hit really quickly.....everyone is getting sick :( I hope all the sick Mumma's and bubba's are feeling better real soon!
AFM...Josh seems to be getting better, the doctor didnt want to give him anything cos apparently getting better on his own would help his immune system...so hard to watch while he is not well tho!! Im finally better now too.....and ofcourse now DH is sick! Ah the merry-go-round of winter ugh!
Other than that not much to share really.....the time between feeds has been getting shorter and shorter (even tho Josh stills sleeps thru most nights) so Im thinking it might be time to up his bottle size...just dont want him to be a guts tho (the nurse scared me on that one when I got him weighed last week and at 6.5kg was told "wow does someone love their food too much!") For you guys that are exclusively bottle feeding, how much is your bubs having roughly??? I know every bub is different but its interesting to have a general guide iykwim :)
Anyway hope everyone else is hanging in there and enjoying their bubbas :)
Hugs to you all xoxo

Linda hope your feel soon
Helen-Maddi was ff, i don't remember how much she use to have but i do remember she loved her milk & was a little porka lol
Don't worry to much about the health nurse comments as long as he is healthy & happy your doing a great job.
Happy 3 months Ella & well done on the weight gain.
Mrs C Glad Susie doing a lil better, hope she continues to improve.
AFU
Maddi is still on self imposed diet of Apples, cheesy rice & cheesy pasta. So can't wait for this stage to be over.
Kodi is really getting some personality now, She laughs, babbles & gives you the biggest smiles i just love it. We are off to get weighed today because of the small weight gain last time. She feels like she's gained a ton of weight lol.
Hope all the sick mum & bubs feel better soon & everyone else stays healthy.

hi all,
we had a great night on tuesday night, slept from 11pm til 5am! however last night it was back to the usual ARGH!!
last night she had been asleep for about 30 mins and i heard her making some noises so i went in to check. she was on her tummy (she is a tummy sleeper now) and she had raised her head right up and was even sorta pushing up with her arms and just SMILING SMILING SMILING! it was so hard to be upset that she was awake after a short sleep when i was greeted with that. this is the first time she has raised her head that high and she was lovin it. howver she did get mighty cranky after all that effort and we had her up crying for the next couple hours! LOL
i'm not sure about formula feeding either, though on the back of our tin it says 200mls 5 times a day or soemthing like that. whenever i give a bottle to chelsea she only has 70mls tops. plus i am finding it hard to get a good teat. i have a variable flow one that is too fast and a 0-3 month one that is too slow.
her skin has come up in eczema again too and i think it may have something to do with having some formula so i am gonna give it a miss for a while.
thats it from me for now, got MIL here at the moment.
-
Kodi gained 300g in 2wks so we are back on track with her feeding which is a relief :)
Hollo how cute, It's very hard being upset when they give you such a big smile.
Hope C's eczema clears up soon for you.

Hi Everyone,
I hope the flu doesn't hang around for too long! Sending healthy vibes to all :)
Nice weight gain we all seem to be having - yay.
Helen_au - we are bottle feeding here, Edi takes approx 150ml 5 times a day and then 180ml after his big sleep, he usually sleeps 8 hours a night so is extra hungry, we do about 6 feeds a day. Yes he is a little piglet but I don't mind.
Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Everybody,
It's been a little bit quiet in here over the weekend, I know we had a busy one.
Caught up with a dear friend who was passing through Brisbane on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon was spent in the kitchen making a croquembouche (masterchef anyone? the profiteroles with toffee) Took a couple of goes to get the toffee right though, first batch the saucepan was too hot and the bits that got on the edges when i stirred it went black while the rest of the toffee wasn't ready yet, woops. But overall we were pretty impressed with my efforts, tasted very yummy.
Yesterday we went to a school fete around the corner from us. Alexandra loved looking at the little kids riding the miniature ponies and on the jumping castle and other rides. It was either a little bit too much for her or the baby carrier was extremely soothing because we weren't there for very long before she fell asleep. Last night DP made his famous homemade pizza with the base and tomato sauce made from scratch, we ate so much good food over the weekend i probably put on a couple of kg's.
Are you feeling better Linda? I had a runny nose on Friday and DP was ready to go and buy me a mask so i didn't make anyone else sick. But it turned out to just be a runny nose, not a cold or flu luckily.
Hollo - hope Chelsea's eczema clears up soon, have you started to notice any changes since stopping formula feeding?
Phoenix - Great weight gain for Kodi!
Helen - I wouldn't worry too much about Josh being a guts. Alexandra was 6.5kg last time we got her weighed. I think some bubs are just naturally going to be bigger and want to be fed more, we are breastfeeding though so i don't know too much about formula.
-
Wow it has been quiet in here
Im off to PINK tonight, very excited!
except having to leave Ella for the night
Hope everybody and bubs are well

It has been very very quite

Hi All, gosh its been a while
funkeefrog- David's weight has been all over the place.
Would you believe only put on 20g inbetween visits again. Well let me explain, he did 450g in 2 weeks, then 20g in 2 weeks, then 220g in a week. See cos we saw the MHCN on tuesday and he had done 20g she said to see her Thursday, which he had put 200g on, then when we saw on on the following tuesday 20g. So MCHN wants to see us again tomorrow. Fingers crossed he's done okay. If you discount the extra checkup he did 450g - 2 weeks, 20g - 2 weeks, 220g -1 week so he's doing okay. Still a bit nervous about tomorrow though.
Exciting news though, we had an ultrasound for David's hips (hip displaysia is in the family) and it came back all normal YAY. And today he had been a right stubborn baby staying awake most of the day, then as I was doing some tummy time he rolled over. I couldn't believe it so I gave him a hug and put him back on his tummy, and he did it again. Very exciting, just a bugger that hubby is off in Mildura all week working.
Oh and had our 6 week checkup, (obstrecian was on holidays) all going well. I asked him about AF he was very vague and said yeah might have been you'll have to wait and see if its regular but 50% of women by 12 weeks have had it. Then he joked and said see you in 2 years when you have the next bub. lol
-
Linda i'm so glad ur feeling better, hoping my bracelet arrives tomorrow can't wait to see it :)
Auzzie sounds like David is doing well, what's his overall weight?
Kell have a great time tonight.
Hi to everyone else :)

hey all,
we are going to sydney this week to visit an old friend. will be interesting with all 3 kids in the backseat. i just allyeria will be ok with the long distance we have spread out the rests too make sure they all get a good stretch. allyeria is doing really well she is having 200-250ml a feed with about 4-5 feeds depends on how she is feeling. we also have a great routine now and when we put her to bed at 6:30 she goes straight to sleep and wakes up between 6:30 to 8am (the last few days it been 8am) i am soo happy that we are getting some sleep in i hope she continues this. our other boys were great sleepers until they hit 6mths and for some reason they go bad.
Allyeria also did some really good giggling today it was soo cute!
funkeefrog- those eclair things look soo yummy i would love to give it a go.
auzziechick- thats great about the xray - yeah for the rolling over.
tiggerlinda - yeah for getting better!
Helen- as long as he is proportion to height and weight i wouldn't worry. all my bubs have been on the bigger side but after they start walking it slows down. but its ok to have the extra weight while its cold :)
mo - good to hear things are getting better. Happy Birthday!
take care everyone,
treena

DD is 3 months today. I feel like I haven't slept properly in a long, long time. Oh right, I haven't haha.
I can't even think straight today. Went out to dinner last night for a friend's birthday. Was nice. DD took some of her bottle of ebm that I left for her (only about 50mL but I wasn't gone much longer than 2hrs so didn't expect her to need much, she had a full feed when I got home). She has been breastfeeding fine today so I guess that is a sucess? I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be looking for in terms of nipple confusion to be honest. I have a 21st next Thursday night so we will see how the bottle goes then. I will only be just around the corner so if things don't work out I can walk home easily.
Expressing is really difficult. I have a Medela Harmony which is a manual pump. The first time I tried I got 50mL after an hour. The second time I got 125mL in an hour so I am hoping things continue to improve or at least stay at that level. I don't intend to go out much to the extent she needs a feed but I feel a bit of a weight off my shoulders knowing that it is possible.
treena -- so cute to hear about the giggling. I think DD is on the verge of it, she does a sort of giggle that turns into a bit of a scream/cough and then ends up in hiccups!!
linda -- good to hear you are feeling better! Can't wait for Friday, should be fun.
auzzie.chick -- hope David's weigh in goes well. It sounds like he is on the right track!
kellbell -- hope you had a blast at the P!NK concert.
Hello everyone else!
Oh and DD is up to 5.8kg last time we checked, can't remember if I had mentioned that already.
Take care xo

Where has my little newborn baby gone?!? Got weighed today and Alexandra is just over 7kg with clothes on. I can't believe how big she is getting.
Treena - hope the kids behaved for you on your car trip
auzzie.chick - great news about David's hips! Hope his weigh in went well yesterday, maybe it's normal for them to put it on in little spurts then not grow for a few days.
We were getting weighed once a week but have dropped back to once every 2 weeks. I just like to go and see the nurse and talk to her about little stuff so that she remembers who we are. Plus it's she's at the chemist just around the corner from us so it's a good little walk to get some sunshine and exercise.
JB - Happy 3 month b'day Immy! Sounds like she has no problem with EBM from the bottle. We have tried 3 times here and haven't had any issues. I have an AVENT manual pump but have given up trying to use it after 2 times. I can get about 80mls using my hands in 20-30 mins. I'm hearing you about the sleep. Someone here was awake at 4.30am last night and wouldn't go back to sleep. Was funny when DP came over and even though it was almost dark she saw his face and burst into smiles. I'm looking forward to Friday too :D
I just posted my birth story - was nice to go through it all in my head again
