hi all sorry been a bit absent. we are going ok! susie and i both had a cold last week but seems to be mostly gone now! bought a vaporizer which helped both of us lol! unfortunately that meany she didnt get her shots last week so we're going in for that today :(
not sure wat shes doing to me- second day in a row shes woken me at 4am to feed! least she skipped her 11pm feed last night so i slept from 10:15 till 11:15 then 11:45 till 4... hoping to go back to bed soon lol she had done a few 8 hour sleeps so i was getting all excited lol
havent tried expressing here yet although i've been meaning too. better get cracjing on that to see if she'll take a bottle! did you guys buy sterilising equipmemt? not really sure what to do about that sort of thing!

I can only express from 1 side, i just don't get a let down on my right side. So i can get upto 120mls from my left & around 15-30mls from my right.
Not That Kodi will take a bottle anyways, but i gonna keep at it & hopefully one day she just take to it.
Mrs C, i really wouldn't worry about buying sterilizing stuff it's not like you plan on FFing.
You could buy Milton & just do cold sterilizing or you could just put the bottle & pump parts in a saucepan with boiling water for a few mins.

i didnt like using milton, it just made everything smell like bleach and i didnt want to put something that smelt like bleach in my DD's mouth. i got an electric steraliser from a second hand store. you could try ebay. or i think the microwave ones are a bit cheaper too.
DD2 will still only take only 70mls from a bottle. havent tried her for a while due to the eczema thing though, but i think it is the weather that has flared it up a bit.
DD1 is having an operation next month which i am anxious about!! its only minor surgery on her thumb but still worried.

We did well at our MCHN checkup David had put on 170g and 1cm so we don't have to go back till 12 week check yay. Which is just before we go on holidays.. bit nervous about that as its 3 weeks in the UK. Not sure how flying will go, anyone got any tips?
Really enjoying things at the moment Mum's group is going well, we're organising to go to the movies "mums n bubs" session one of the days and a first aid course for parents. So I think it will be quite good, certainly is good getting out of the house.
Having an adventure tomorrow catching the train into the city to the state library, we haven't been on public transport yet with David. Has anyone else? How did it go?
Phoenix- David's overall weight is now 5.88kg 61cm tall at 10 weeks :)
Jitterbug- sounds like bubs is doing well, i haven't got around to expressing yet but really should in case we want my folks to babysit anytime. do you express between feeds or a particular time, like you when i did express the once/twice i only got 30-50mls.
Funkeefrog- 7kg you are doing well even with clothes on!

The first time I expressed was in the afternoon, 30minutes after a feed and from the breast that she took. I only got 50mL but I wasn't that surprised. The second time was after her morning feed (about 7:30am) and from both sides. The only thing is that the next morning and this morning I have woken up at 7:30am with completely engorged breasts (like the first few weeks of feeding), just from that single pumping session (I am assuming that is what has brought it on) which has been quite uncomfortable... hoping it settles down again soon!

Hi everyone...Sorry Ive been MIA again!!! Josh just isnt having huge sleeps during the day anymore....but Im not going to complain because at night he generally does sleep from 7.30pm til 5am!!! Pretty happy to be catching up on sleep and get some energy back again :)
Other than that not a huge amount to report....still no signs of rolling here, but he is grabbing at and holding toys when we have playtime. He is still not a big fan of tummy time, or getting jumpers put on over his head....but we are slowly getting there! Still playing trial and error with the cloth-bum too.....found the Pop-In, BumG and Eco bub worked really well on the first try so Im feeling better about using cloth now!! Not having much luck with the CT ones tho (its a shame cos they are soooo pretty lol) thinking I might have to save them for now and see if Josh's thighs chunk up abit more cos that seems to be where they are abit loose!
Feeding wise we are up to 220ml per feed and usually 5 or 6 feeds a day!!! Hoping thats a good amount but like DH said he is growing and happy and healthy...thats what matters!
Someone was mentioning the sterilisers.....I didnt like the hassle or smell of Milton either....so I got a microwave one from Big W (the Dymples brand) and from memory it was only about $20.....and by far one of the best things I bought while pregnant lol...I just hope the 330ml Aventbottles are gonna fit in it!!
Now that Im done rambling lol....I did have a couple of questions for you guys...... Josh has taken to sticking his tongue out, like I mean constantly just poking it in and out, and he is drooling heaps now too....any idea what he is trying do???
Also, Ive heard heaps lately about the Amber necklaces for teething...do you guys use them?? How have you found them? Does bub wear it all the time and wouldnt it get caught in their clothes or hands?? (Josh is constantly pulling at his bib so I was abit worried about a necklace!)
Anyway, thats it for me tonight, Im ready for bed already lol :)
I hope everyone is doing really well and not passing the flu bug round too much :)

Hun Charlotte pokes her tounge out all the time they say teeth maybe moving but GP says the siliva glands are working and they are trying to work it out at this age

Yep, we got a big drool head here too!! And DD likes eating her fists and poking her tongue out which is extremely LONG. It is like a lizard... haha a very cute lizard.

I hate the smell of Milton as well, ive been boiling what i need sterilised.
I tend to get about 70mls from each one expressing, only have a Manuel pump, i dont like it much. I managed to get enough for her feeds while at Pink. I did it in the mornings when i seem to have heaps. Now like you Jitterbug have been waking up engorged - yuk
Pink was really good and i had a excellent time, was nice to have a break but i missed her like crazy as well
Are you guys going to start your bubs on solids at four months or closer to six?
How do you know they are ready?

I wouldn't be surprised if we start at around 4months, too! The pead just said to watch for signs -- interest in food, putting things in their mouth and if they seem hungry like waking more in the night then they could be ready so I think we will just see how it goes. Worst that can happen is you offer a bit and they don't take it, just wait a bit longer and try again! We will probably start with pureed (spelling?) fruit/veg, my cousin bought me a stick blender for my baby shower and I've been dying to use it haha.

i'm gonna stick it out to 6 months this time. i started DD1 at around 4 months and she ended up with an egg allergy. i dont know for sure if the two are related but i have read that introduction of food early can be linked to food allergies.

I'm gonna wait till 6 months, Kodi has super sensitive skin & i'm scared if i introduce food to early she'll end up with allergies.

alexandra is sticking her tongue out and drooling heaps too. She usually has a bib on most days to save me trying to find a washer to wipe her chin.
JB - i've been trying to get her to stick her tongue out really far but she's got nothing on Immy :lol:
