hope the iron helps mo!!
things well gere. no crawling yet, still no rolling from back to tummy but can do tummy to back and spends heaps of time sitting playing with her toys! I reckon shes grown a few cm's in the last month too!
no idea wat we are going to do for chriostmas. Ive been wondering about a lil swimming pool with a shade to sit in with her lol
-
Kodi has a throat infection so she was put on AB's only for the the AB's to give her rash.
My baby can't get a break at the moment.
She has a rash on her tummy, back, face & head :(
I think the pools are a great idea, Kids love them so much & if u get a decent one that will last a few yrs it makes it even more worthwhile :)
-
 for Kodi, hope she feels better really soon
Eight months here today !!!!!!
Nothing much happening either, whats everybody else been up to?
-
Hey everyone,
We have had a big couple of weeks here. First words (mama), crawling and pulling herself up and first tooth (finally! after months of teething) I am enjoying Alexandra more and more everyday as she gets more communicative. We've taught her to shake and squeeze her toys and now she goes crazy waving her arms whenever we say "shake" and also to give cuddles and kisses and high fives which is very cute.
The separation anxiety is starting to hit here big time as well. Most of the time she is ok but will start to cry if we've been out of the room and then she sees us, combined with wanting to crawl all over me.
I got my sister to do some christmas shopping for me the other day, we're not getting too much stuff for her. An inflatable pool, a fold out lounge, some beach toys and some books.
After 3 weeks of being here our sleeping routine is completely out of whack which is only going to happen again when we get back. Very frustrating but at least she will stay asleep most of the time once we've finally gotten her too sleep.
Gotta go, but I should be on here more regularly now
-
Mo - how did the iron top up go? Did it help? Hope you are felling better. Poor Kodi girl!
We are rashy on the arms (her and me!) but do not know the cause - maybe hormonal as its been there for months and months on and off. The heat down here is making it much worse.
Kell - happy 8 months today!
It is 12 months since we moved into our home so we will have champagne tonight and reflect. So much has happened! The studio is close to completion.
I have another job for next year (as well as regular work) putting together a Diploma learning package and delivering it at local uni. Taking on too much but need money as studio is a money pit!
FF - beach stuff for christmas sounds good. I cant remember how long the bubs eat the sand for though. - anyone fresh with that info?
Mrs C - bubs love swimming pools - another good plan. We take bubs in the spa everyday in the heat just like when I was pregnant and she gets excited when we put her bathers on!
As for me - work work work blah! I wish I was still on full mat leave. They need to pay women for longer so they can comfortably stay home I believe! And as for the women who want a break from work even if they dont have babies! They better not jeopardize our tiny bit of current mat leave
-
Ok back for personals :D
SP - How are you handling being back at work? I can't really contemplate going back right now, maybe in 4-6 months time. Sounds like you are going to be busy next year. Hope you can get the rash situation sorted. Is it itchy? That's the last thing you need going into summer.
Kellbell - Happy 8 months! I can't believe how quickly time is going, they'll be turning 1 before we know it.
Phoenix - Get better soon Kodi! Hope you are feeling better after your iron infusion.
MrsC - Once she starts crawling you won't be able to stop her, it happens so quickly. did you have any luck with Susie's constipation? We are doing 2-3 meals of solids a day and have had a few issues with poos being really hard and not pooing as often so I've been giving lots of apple and pear and we also bought some prune puree baby food which seems to have helped.
Hollo - How did your tupperware demonstrations go?
Dotty - Lily sounds like she is a tough little cookie even though she is going through so much. How are you and your DH coping?
JB - All unpacked? I hate hate hate moving and don't plan on doing it again for a while once we get settled again
TL - Been thinking of you, fingers crossed!
-
Hello all
IVF did not go as planed embie did not make it through the night so will be next year for us!
How is everyone? I have been MIA with the new venture
-
Oh so sorry to hear about your little embie
How long do you have to wait till you can try again?
-
Linda i'm so sorry to hear that
Kodi is not getting any better, the rash is every where now my & she just screams all day. She has to stay on panadol till the screaming starts to settle down.
I'll be back tomorrow for personals
-
maybe is eczema? have you seen a gp yet?
-
Hollo we took her the Dr & he said it's a viral rash or maybe a reaction to the amoxil.
FF yay for all the 1st. Kodi has started with the proper crawling & also says Mumma
SP hope the rash goes away soon for you both & i feel great now. I can sleep & i have more energy it's makes such a huge difference.
I just noticed your not that far from me only around an hr.
-
Mo - poor Kodi - that must be very tiring for you!
My rash has settled to a dry skin thing for now since not so hot.
TL - sorry to hear that! Hope your next try isnt too far off
FF - Wow those are some serious milestones! Congrats
DH and I went Christmas shopping today to beat the December rush. Miss T was great and loved to smile at passers by.
8 months today and Health centre tomorrow
-
hi guys,
i dont have much time today but just wanted to pop in and say hi.
sorry to hear that TL- it will happen though! :-)
FF- sounds like your little one has been very busy! the shaking thing is too cute. oh and my tupperware is going well.. just gearing up for a big week hopefully. any local girls i would love to come and do a demonstration for you! :-)
chelsea has just started clapping and waving which is very cute. anyone giveing finger foods yet?
m0- has the rash cleared up yet? did they take her off anti-b'?
-
Hello everyone!! Little lady Imogen is 8 months today. We are sitting and moving (slam hands down in front of her and pull herself a long with a little bit of help from her legs). She has just started in the last few days getting into the standard crawling position and rocking so guess she will master that soon!! We have FIVE teeth, 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom with the last one breaking through just yesterday.
Hollo -- We have been doing finger food since we started solids properly (6.5mo). She has toast (with avocado), fruit, veggies, pasta and meat under extreme supervision! She seems to enjoy eating this way and will steal the spoon if we try purees and mashes so it ends up really messy and torturous doing it that way. She chews really well and has only gagged once so far.
FF -- Congrats on all the 1st for little Alexandra, what a clever chicken!! We are all unpacked and settling in really well. I love the location, it is so fantastic.
SP -- we went and did most of the x-mas shopping this weekend too! There were a few sales around which was nice as well.
TL -- Sorry to hear about frostie
Mo -- hope the rash has settled down
Kellbell -- congrats on 8mo!
Not much else is happening here. Me and Imogen's Dad are taking a break but I'm okay.
-
After we stopped the ab's the rash started to clear up, K is doing so much better now.
Still very clingy but that's just a phase.
We have 2 teeth(bottom) & we crawling every where now, i put her down & when i turn around again she's gone lol.
Off to have our 8 month check up today.
JB sorry to hear about you & your partner, but i'm glad to hear your coping ok.
wtg to Immy on the teeth & crawling, she'll be off before you know it.
Hollo how cute of Chelsea.
SP, we are off to do most of our Christmas shopping this week & i look forward to hear how T did at her check up :)
-
Mo - check up went fine. T started to crawl forwards the next day! (yesterday). No teeth but teething all the time again now. T is pretty small - about 25th percentile for length and under 50th for weight. But that is to be expected. MCHN expressed no concerns and all milestones are good. T turned on a bit of a moving and chatting show when we put her on the floor - a bit of a show girl!
How did Kodi go - glad the rash is gone. Will have to watch the ABs in future eh!
JB - great finger fooding! We have just started with pieces of canteloupe, watermelon and Kiwi. Yeah we watch her like a hawk though
Hollo - Glad the work is going well - good time for it too!
-
Kodi is 7.4kg & 68cms long so doing well.
I'll stay clear of amoxil from now on, Maddi is also allergic to it.
K also does finger food, She loves toast & avo.
-
Mo - T is 7.63kg and 66cms so pretty similar size eh! I looked in DH baby book and he was almost exactly the same size at the same age. She is really crawling now.
JB - sorry I missed the bit about the separation - so sorry to hear that! Hope all works out for you and you are looked after at this time
We have progressed to avocado on toast - great idea - thanks
We need a messy mat ASAP!
-
Happy First day of Summer! My favorite month as it is my birthday month - yay!
We are going to Rye on Sunday for the week.
-
SP that will be lovely. Rye is so nice this time of year.
-
Hows everybody going, must be a busy time of year for everyone.
We are getting excited about Ellas first Christmas, we took her to her first carols by candlelight last night and she had a great time.
She tried to take a step between the lounge and the table of course she fell straight down but i cant believe she wants to walk already
Eight weeks till i go back to work :shakehead: so not ready yet!
-
KB - Yes it seems everyone has been busy eh!
It is so daunting going back to work. Do you have to go back full time? I am working 1 1/2 days now and will build up to 3 days by Feb. Under my nurse award I can have 2 years part time and not lose my contracted full time position.
Go Ella with the walking!
Tirion is similar at the mo. She is trying to stand alone and walks around all the furniture. Too soon I say!!!!:D
-
Yes im a nurse too, so going to go back three days a week to start with and see how it goes. Id love to stay home forever but we need my wage to survive.
I cant really complain getting paid for a year to be with my bubba, ive loved every minute of it.
My partner says we can try again for bub no 2 in a couple of months
-
Kell & Bron what kinda a nurses are you both?
Not a real lot happening here, K had a few what we think were seizures, She had an EEG today & we get the results back next week.
Hoping like crazy it was nothing serious.
We are off to NSW & maybe QLD next week, It will be my 1st Christmas in 10yrs that i get to spend with my sister, nieces & nephews.
Thought we might drive up to QLD to see Phil's dieing Grandpa, just depends on how the girls go with the trip to NSW.
-
Mo, i just saw your FB update and came in to see if Kodi is ok. Far out! that must have been frightening. Did she have a virus? or it was just out of the blue? Hope all is ok. xxxxxx
While i'm here, we're great. Sas is a little ratbag. ;) She finally has 2 teeth! She stood up in the middle of the room on her own today and isn't too far off walking. :o She climbed up a slide in a play centre today and gave me a heart attack!
Might try and pop in a little more often.
-
Sounds like Sas keeps you on your toes, can't believe she wants to start walking already. How's miss L doing?
I'm so bummed we won't be able to catch up b4 u leave, promise you'll keep in touch by fb!
I do love the new avi & u/n, it really suits you xxx
There were no signs it was a virus & each episode happened within 10 mins of her waking. I really hope it was a virus, either way if the EEG comes back normal & she has another episode she has to have an MRI. We haven't had anymore for 9 days now so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Yep it was scary, she wouldn't respond to her name or anything for that matter.
-
mo that is really scary!!!!! i hope it is nothing as well! let us know the results when you get them.
glad to hear all the bubs are doing well.
it sux having to go back to work hey! i'm not going to go back until hannah is in school.. hopefully! cant afford to really cause the day care fees are crazy and dont have anyone living close by to baby sit. just stick with the tupperware as longas i can i guess.
chelsea has stood by herself for a second too. so not long til she is walking either.
merry christmas everyone
-
Hello, can I join this Baby Buddies group? DD was born 27th March this year.
Is anyone else having sleep dramas? I'd love to know what your bubs are up to. DD is almost 9 months, crawling, cruising the furniture & crying / sitting up / standing in cot every nap & bedtime. I need some ideas from others going through the same thing!
Merry Christmas!
-
Hi winter,
I've not been terribly active in here, but going to try and rectify that! We've just had a couple of months of sleep issues. Down to waking hourly. :o But miraculously things seem to be on the improve. This is a notorious age for separation anxiety.
My little chicken has an ear infection so she's not too happy at the moment!
What's it like at the north pole?
-
Hi JungleMum,
North Pole is very busy at this time of year, but the good news is that the Elf is asleep!
How's the Jungle? Tarzan behaving? ;)
-
Merry Christmas to all the mums & bubs.
Welcome Winter, we also had sleep issues but are back to sleeping through the night now.
K's results came back all clear as well :D
-
I missed this Mo! That is awesome news. Thank goodness. hope you're having a great holiday.
Tarzan definitely NOT behaving winter. In fact he is over roaming in the jungle while i hold up the fort at home most of the time! ;)
Girls good here. sleeping going ok. how you going winter? that elf behaving?
-
Hello Baby Buddies :D
Things are going pretty okay here. Still not a great sleeper but I'm so used to it now haha. We are up 3-5 times a night so not terrible. Immi has 6 teeth and I think another two are breaking through. We are still feeding quite frequently - at least 7 times a day. She has taken to food well, feeds herself all meals and tries everything.
Merry belated Christmas xo
-
We only have 2 teeth jb! :) 6 already, that's great. I'm not looking forward to the top ones. i remember them being difficult last time!
We're feeding about that much too, maybe a little less since her sleep has improved.
What do you give her for breaky? i forget what finger foods are good...... she has toast but i also give her porridge. She tries with the spoon but we have about a 10% target rate.
-
We also only have 2 teeth, K is also standing by herself for a few seconds. K is a great eater but still loves her boobie So we are still feeding fairly often.
K follows M everywhere, you always hear them playing in her room laughing, i can tell they will be very close when they get older.
-
hey guys,
sorry i have been MIA around here been busy with the tupperware thing, the kids and christmas. very exciting today chelsea took 6 steps! wont be long til she prefers walking to crawling and we wont know what hit us!
glad to hear everyone is well and the bubs are growing well. they will be 1 year old before we know it!
take care
-
Hey everyone!
We are back in Oz - had a great time but it's so good to be home. We had a nice christmas and spent every day in the pool and at the beach. Alexandra has eaten quite a bit of sand! It was quite funny watching her face when she walked on the grass and sand for the first time. We are having a pretty terrible time with teething at the moment. 5 teeth and counting. The top ones seem to be giving her the most trouble.
I can't believe how quickly time is going - my mum bought Alexandra's b'day present in the after christmas sales
-
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!
Have had a lovely celebratory time and glad to have a break from entertaining now.
DH and I celebrated our anniversary yesterday in a hot air balloon.
Tirion is standing briefly unaided. She cut three teeth - 2 top front teeth and one bottom - all over new years.
Still bf 4 or 5 times a day most days. Eating OK but not huge amounts.
I have looked at a few forums on-line re weaning and no. of bfs etc for her age. One lady was feeding her baby heaps of food as well as heaps of milk feeds. Most said they feed 3 times a day and cut back to 2 by 12 months. Any other ideas?
Hollo - Chelsea is a tricky chicken nugget with the walking already!
Mo - I'm so pleased to hear all is well with kodi. I am a Psych nurse by trade but work with Mental health and drug and alcohol services. I forget a lot of general health details.
FF - glad you are back and had a good Christmas
Winter - welcome. T sleeps through most nights now but wakes awefully early sometimes like 5.30am and wants to play. I put her in the portacot in our ensuite and let her grizzle but she soon stops and plays on her own til she falls asleep again.
KB - I knew you were a nurse also. What is your specialty?
I'm back at work tomorrow:shakehead:
-
Hey ladies,
How's all those March babies going? Mine is having a shocking time with the heat and sleeping, or perhaps she's just having a bad time with sleeping. It's nice to blame the heat though. ;)
I can not believe we are fast approaching first birthdays. :o where did the year go!
We spent the morning at the beach today, a friend wanted to take some snaps of the kids. I think little miss almost 10 months ate about a shovel and half full of sand..... maybe she'll sleep better with a full tummy. :p
SP- Ouch on the work thing. That can't be easy. I'm not a nurse, but i am a medical imaging tech. I haven't worked in a while now, not since before number 1. I will get back to work, but not in the near future. i miss it but at the same time and thankful i don't have to go back iykwim. Was it your fist time back since T was born, or just back after the holidays?
-
Hi JM,
yep, how fast has this year gone? We no longer have babies, we have toddlers! Well mine is anyway, the tanties have started (only very small, but they are here!) and all the "look mum, no hands" standing she is doing, I don't thinkit will be too long until DD is toddling aroudn the place.
I've decided today that sleeping good/bad is all so relative. I'm not going to stress about bad sleep anymore (can you remind me of this next time I'm searching for miracle cures! :)) because nothing lasts for very long. One week is a good week, the next is bad, but the good one will come again eventually. (I'm feeling very calm & zen because this week is a good week and its much easier to be philosophical with enough sleep under your belt!)
I am starting to dig this toddler stuff, I love her squealing and crawling away from me laughing while I chase her. Its so cute.
Hope your DD sleeps well and all that sand makes its way back out again!
