i know! toddlers already. Although having a 2 and a bit year old, still makes her seem so small. It's funny you say that about sleep, i was having coffee with another BB chick, and we agreed on exactly what you say, sleep only becomes an issue if you see it as one. Babies are just that, babies and their sleep and/or bad habits seem to come and go just as the weather changes.
Good on you for coming to that conclusion with your first, it took me until i had number two!
It seems the march babies are keen to get and moving! *go toddlers go*
JM i agree having a 2 year old makes Kodi seem so little, but then again K is very petite.
How is Baloo doing, Still a chunky little bubba?
K is having a crap time with sleep, but then so is M. So maybe it is the heat.
Winter it's so much fun when they get to the toddler age, I can't wait till my girls can really go off & play together.
What's everyone doing for the big 1st birthday? We will probably just have a BBQ lunch.
Hi Phoenix,
I'm not sure about the first birthday. We don't have family around and not that many friends so I was thinking a BBQ lunch too, but then I really want to have a "we survived the first year" party with my mother's group. Maybe I can do both?
I'm loving that my daughter comes to me now. She can choose where she wants to go & its lovely when she crawls quickly to me for a cuddle! Awww. too cute! :) So that's one of the lovely things about loosing our babies & getting a toddler instead. (I loved the baby days!)
Hey Mo- yup, Baloo is still a chubby little thing! i love it. :D
Don't think we'll be doing much for her first birthday. Probably a jungle picnic. ;)
Hope any one in Vic is sheltering from the heat today and staying safe, particularly if you're in fire prone area. I'm supposed to be going to a friends place for a BBQ, but they live in a pretty bushy outer suberb and i'm feeling a bit nervous about it..... Might just stay by the beach i think.
Mo- you guys should bring the girls to the beach one day. Lu wold love to build sand castles with M.
When do you guys leave? I'll diffidently bring the drama queen down soon.
I can see her & Lu being feral I mean "Angels" together & i'd love to see how little Sas is doing :)
JM if you don't feel safe going then just stay home, you went through so much last year and i can only imagine how nervous days like this must make you now. Your friend will understand if u need to cancel
Winter it's just beautiful watching them change into little people, DD1 now comes up to & says I love you Mumma & gives me a kiss.
If i'm upset she grabs a blanket comes up to wipes my tears away & goes "don't cry Mumma, it be ok".
Sweet dreams to all sweltering in this heat!
JM - I have been back at work a day and a half since October. I'm lucky to have an autonomous position and can work from home on occasions. DH has built a music studio at home so it doubles as a quiet office now. Our folks look after T.
For Ts first birthday we are buying a tiny quater sized cello! Jesse's brother just located it for her. She is so into the live music sessions at home and wont use it for a long time but will enjoy us using it with her.
Winter - I love it that bubs can seek me out now too! A little girl is emerging rapidly.
Sounds like all of our bubs are starting to be full of personality. Alexandra is so cheeky and gives the biggest grins - it's so cute. I am loving this new stage as she gets more confident in herself exploring the house and chasing the cats around.
Does anyone know off the top of their head when the next lot of teeth are supposed to come through after the first 8? I'll have to look it up, I'm hoping that we'll get a nice long break from teething. We've moved from panadol to nurofen as the panadol was pretty much useless and night wakings have increased astronomically. DP is still overseas with his family so I'm by myself and wishing that I had more hours in the day and that I didn't need as much sleep.
We probably won't be doing much for her birthday. We've got my sister's engagement party 2 weeks before and my aunty's wedding the weekend after so will have heaps of time to catch up with family and probably have a quiet party by ourselves.
What's everybodys favourite toys at the moment? We've got a huge box of duplo and Alexandra has been carrying around the little people, one in each hand, for about a week now
Super P- A little cellist in the making, cool pressie. She will love that in years to come. Did you cook last night? Man it was so hot. There wasn't a lot of sleeping going on here......
FF- After the 8, the next teeth aren't until the molars appear. Lu is just getting the first 2 molars at 2 years 3 months, but friends babes had them a little before 2 years. S still only has 2 teeth, so have a way to go yet. As for favorite toys, not sure she has one, just happy to chew on whatever she can get her hands on, it was a dead fly yesterday. :o blergh.
Mo- i stayed home! My friends were fine, they were telling me all about their fire plan, but i just didn't feel comfortable. Will go up when it cools down.
Bring on the cool change i say!

Saw the pics on FB & my goodness Lulu has turn into a mini you, She is so darn beautiful!
I see Sas still has the redish hair going on & i just love her little pot belly too cute!
Are you bringing both girls to the beach?
K's fav toy hmmmm, She does love her walker but she's pretty happy with anything u give her as long as it can go in her mouth that is.
My 2 finally fell asleep at midnight last night it was just to sticky & hot to sleep, I'm really looking forward to this cool change.
Yep will have both Mo, Hubby in PNG. (If any one else is interested we're meeting at Frankston beach on Friday. PM me and i'll let you know where. :D)
Great i can't wait to see Little L & Little S.
I really hope M & L get along this time, those 2 always seems to clash when together and i also hope K doesn't beat up S. Kodi doesn't understand playing gently since Maddi never plays gently with her.
 neither does S, she's always beating other babies up. Lu plays a lot better these days. She's no angel, but has improved! See you friday. :D
A it was great seeing you today, Lulu is just beautiful & Sassi is cute as. I love how happy she is.
I was so happy Maddi & Lu got on so well today, not 1 fight.
Look forward to catching up again b4 you leave.
JM - glad for the cool change too! I cant remember if we cooked but we probably had Pizza as DS1 has a pizza delivery job at the mo.
T is 10 months now! OMG how time has flown. I just am in awe of the amazing gift she is to everyone here. So much love.
She has cut 4 teeth now - all in 2 weeks. 3 are top teeth though. Has anyone else had mostly top teeth?
JM - Hilarious re the dead fly:rofl:
FF - Ts fav toy is hard to say - all have their time to shine at present. Today we bought her a toy Spot dog as she loves the books. She got very excited. Actually books are her fav toys all round. Settles her when she is upset. I feel for you being on your own. It is a tough gig for sure.
Went to Dandenongs with DH and T for lunch and cake - we are trying to enjoy a break from DH regular work by doing whatever we please - just woke up and went out:)
Pizza deliverer in the family........ mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :D Lunch and cake sounds like the perfect Sunday. Did you go to the chocolate place in Montrose? Yum. So much chocolate. mmmmmm. No top fangs here just yet, although i suspect from the drool and a bit of biting they may be on their way.
Mo- Was so great to see you and the girls again. (and P of course! ;) ) I was very impressed with how they all played. 10 kids at the beach could so easily spell disaster! :o
Only 5 sleeps until DH back, woohoo, i'm celebrating with a radical haircut i think.
We are 10 months! Currently cutting tooth 9 and 10 whilst dealing with a cold... so not fun. She was up 22 times last night, didn't even sleep longer than half hour in a row!!
Jess i'm sorry your having a such a tough time, it will get better. I'm here if you need to vent or anything
Bron sounds like you had a great day.
JM i think i'll start calling you Jane, Jane did your visa get approved? Are you leaving us so very soon :(?
Your right 10 kids on the beach could of gone so wrong, i guess it helped that it wasn't that busy & that the 4 toddlers actually behaved themselves by not running off.
Happy 10 months to Baloo for tomorrow.
Happy 10 months to all the bubbas who have recently turned 10 months :)
JM - your avatar makes you sound like a wild one! Is that the case? Or is it a reflection on your tribe?
We didnt go to Hahndorfs but often have. There is a funky cool cafe right near there called the Soda tree. It is retro decor to the max and nice owners - we didnt go there either but you should check it out.
Bron- Jane is a real wild one :-P Seriously tho Jane is a beautiful person inside & out. You couldn't find a better or more caring friend than her.
That chocolate place & the soda tree sound nice, might have to go check them out.
Awww thanks Mo.
Bron- I am in the process of moving to the jungle in PNG, hence my new name. I guess i used to have a wild streak, but there aint too much wild about me these days!!! ;) Although i did wear my bra on the outside of my singlet to the gym yesterday. :p Soda tree sounds good, will have to check it out.
JM - Having kids it is sometimes hard to fully express the wild side isnt it!! I like the bra thing - like Super Mum! :D Got the visual (ha)
Mo - which beach did you guys go to? - did you say Frankston? When we went to Rye T didnt eat the sand! I was amazed. She seemed freaked out by the beach a bit though. I bought a clam shell for home and she doesnt like sitting in the sand there either - strange!
Bron we went to Frankston, Kodi didn't like the sand at first but within an hour she was happily eating it with Sassi lol
Just bumping us back to page 1.
Kodi now has 4 teeth, the top 2 finally cut through 2 days ago & we are busy planning her butterfly party.
I can't believe some of the bubs will be 1 in 5 and a bit weeks.
Where has the year gone???
We are heading to PNG on the 7th of march, all things being equal! So S will have her birthday over there. No real plans though Mo. Maybe i should have a cake here before we leave...... Butterfly party sounds cool Mo. M will love it too!
We still only have 2 teeth. :o
DH has taken L to King island to visit the relos for 2 nights. I don't know what to do with myself, i'm bored already! Guess i should clean and pack, but i can't be bothered! hahahaha
Bron- i visited a friend in Montrose yesterday and saw that cafe. Looks funky, will definitely stop there some time. :D
Jane maybe you should have a jungle party for Baloo. Then i guess you wouldn't have a lot of friends over in PNG yet. So i think you should have an early party for Baloo in Vic.
I bet Lu is having a great time with her Dad, must be nice having some peace and quiet. You should come up to pakky if your bored ;)
We have most of K's birthday stuff, just need the balloons, candy for the piƱata some small items * of course the food & cake.
Mo - sounds like lots of exciting teething times going on there! We have 4 top and 1 bottom teeth all in January! FUN
Butterfly bday sounds lovely. I'm into butterflys big time.
Jane - are you looking forward to PNG?
T is wanting to walk more than crawl now. I have to work on her bday which is a Tuesday. May take A/L (accrued a bit) so I can do a lunch with relos.
Hey she loves "in the night garden" and it helps her get to nap time sometimes. Have you checked it out?
I should have got my crap together and come to Packy Mo! I got a bit of stuff done though, which makes a nice change. Hope you're ok and having an overnighter to top up the tank. x
Super P- Yeah, i am. It's been a bit of a drama getting the visa's and things organised but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel! DH has been over there quite a bit on the past few months and it's been hard having the to kids on my own. I know some people do it all the time, but man it's a tough gig, i don't know how they manage. I am always up for a new adventure, and PNG is the next one. I am at the point where i just want to get over there and get into it IYKWIM?
My little gremlin is preferring to walk these days too. She's been taking a few steps but isn't super confident. When is in the night garden on these days? My terrific 2 year old dominates the TV watching with playschool in the morning and then i try to turn it off, poor Baloo doesn't get a look in.
Bummer you have to work on her birthday. You could pretend it was a day she wasn't working. she'll never know! ;) How's work going?
Not sure what happened to that top tooth that was popping through...... it seems to have gone?!
We are finally back from hossy, Looks like K has an infection. Drs aren't sure where it is but she respond well to the I.V ab's so they lets us home. Poor bubba got so sick on Monday, we got to the GP and her temp was 39.6 & she was flat out refusing any liquids. So he sent us to the hossy, once in there they tried to give her hydralyte which she just vomited up. Then the put an I.V which took 4 tries because she was so dehydrated. She's looking much happier now which is such a relief.
Jane i go in on Thurs for a check up, gotta make sure there is no cancer growing but the tank is actually doing nicely i'm where the normal people sit. Feels strange to not need up top up.
Mo - sounds aweful Hugs to you all!! Hossie is never a fun thing but can be reassuring
Jane - Nice positive approach to change. Hope it all goes very well for you.
I was a single mum for ages years ago and it was no fun I can tell you!! It will be good to have your DP around for the kids I'm sure xxx
Mo, i just read this! Poor Kodi. Is she any better now? How was your checkup?
Bron- i don't know how you did it being a single mum. I take my hat off to you.
Baloo's top teeth keep cutting through and retracting, the poor thing is struggling a bit. I decided to post her birth story today. I'm not really into sharing publicly, but had a sudden urge today. ;) lol
Check up was ok, no cancer but i'm flaring pretty badly, which will lead to cancer unless i get it under control.
I'm on 50mg of Pred a day for a week, if no better by next Thurs then off to hossy for 5 days.
I read your story & it was beautiful, i kinda figured you wanted to hide when you changed your name.
I'll keep calling you Jane so you can kinda stay kinda hidden ;)
K doing much better we are finally eating again & back to annoying her sister :D
Poor M on the other hand looks like she has gotten what K had, she both kids are on AB's.
Good thing is M is still eating somewhat & drinking.
Hey Bron hope you & Miss are doing well :)
Jane I have a cute story, Maddi found her beach toys the other day & comes up to me and says " Can Maddi go play with Lulu now"
Thought it was cute :)
Mo - I didnt know you had been unwell. Sorry to hear that! Take care of yourself. Glad check up went well. Also good to hear that K is better. Hope M is well soon.
T is doing well and nothing new lately. Just gets more dexterous every day.
I start working 3 full days as of next week. It is tricky going all day without feeding her. I get very full and she gets a bit desperate by late afternoon - wont nap until I get home poor thing.
Hi girls,
It's been a long time since i've been in here. Am going through some personal stuff at the moment and am having a tough time. I just want to go to sleep and wake up when it's over.
Miss A is going really well. She is getting cheekier and cheekier everyday and has starting throwing tanties too when she doesn't get what she wants which is a bit confronting.
I'm going to make a yo gabba gabba cake for A's b'day. A "foofa" cake actually (the pink one for anyone who's ever watched the show)
Mo - Sounds like you guys are having a rough trot at the moment, fingers crossed things get better soon.
SP - Good luck with work, I'm kinda looking forward to starting back at work but at the same time want to stay at home for as long as i can. I'm sure most of us feel the same way.
JM - Wow, you will be moving before you know it. What's the weather like in PNG? I imagine it being quite humid but really have no idea.
Bron i diagnosed 6 years ago with Ulcerative Colitis, so it's been one giant rocky road.
Good luck with going back to work 3 days next week.
FF i hope things pick up for you soon
FF- My life has been a bit rocky of late too. I sympathise, and can relate to that feeling. I hope things start getting a little easier for you.
Awww Mo, Maddi is too cute! Did you tell her she can come and play with Lu anytime??? Glad the results were all ok. How is the prednisilone (sp?) going? Is it helping?
We've had a busy week. We went to SA to visit some friends, was a bit of a trip from hell, 9 hours in the car each way, and 4 of us sleeping in a small room didn't result in alot of sleep! Then it was my birthday on Friday so have had been partying hard. bahahahahaha not really, but have a had a couple of nice dinners. ;) I turned 28 (started counting back when i got to 30. :p)
Sas is walking a fair bit now. Although crawling is still her preferred method of transport. She has started blowing kisses which is quite hilareous, must have been watching her big sister. Sleep is still a bit hit and miss but we're getting there.
Hi ladies,
I just wanted to ask if you would mind if I joined in your group? The first half April group don't talk. I think the last time someone posted in there was three months ago. I loved having my baby buddies with DD1 and miss it for DD2.
A bit of background for me. I have two DD's. They are a little under fifteen months apart. Amy turned 2 early Jan and Skye was born on 1 April 09 so we've got a 1st bday party coming up like all of you ladies! Skye started walking last week and still crawls a little but much prefers walking. It's a little bit of a shock because DD1 didn't crawl until 10 months so to have Skye walking at that age is a little different! She climbs everything. I turned my back for a second the other day and she'd managed to climb to the top of the slippery dip, but up the slide bit, not the ladder. Heart attack moment! My girls love each other to bits. DD1 has never been jealous, just lots of kisses and cuddles, but lately Skye has been showing a little bit of jealousy! Funny how things turn out! She's got her four top front teeth and two bottom ones......um.....not sure what else to tell. She copies me when I sing la la la to her and dada. She LOVES music and dances to it. She's started giving kisses and cuddles which is just so lovely. I'm loving this age. And I'm loving having two young kids. I really hope you don't mind me joining in. I just miss the company of other mums with kids the same age.
Junglemum - happy birthday for Friday! So cute that Sas is blowing kisses! your two kids are close in age too. How do you find it?
funkeefrog - Skye throws some cracking tanties too. It's no fun at this age because they don't really understand time out or anything like that yet. I hope everything is ok. Foopa cake sounds fantastic. DD1 LOVES yo gabba gabba. Skye loves playschool (well the intro music anyway)
Superpumpkin - good luck with work. I go back next week too for one day a week.
Mo - that's no good about you all being sick. I hope you are all improving.
Hope you are all having a lovely day x Nik
Welcome Nik! Alexandra was born on 6th April (I was due on the 30th March) and I started out in the April group but found them to be way to quiet too. Your girls sound beautiful, I am really loving this age too. When they actually come to you for cuddles melts my heart. DD loves Yo gabba gabba and goes crazy when she hears it starting :)
JM - We've done the long trip in the car thing (10hrs) and it wasn't fun with 1 kid let alone 2 so well done on surviving the trip and Happy Birthday! for Friday
I have finished buying birthday presents. Not going too crazy - I've got a bunnykins melamine bowl/plate/cup set, a ride on toy and some books. We are obsessed with books here atm. DD sits for ages just flicking the pages over and over and over again. We have only just had first steps here last week but DD prefers to crawl. She is super cautious still, will stand on her own for ages until she realises that she's not holding onto anything :D
