Hi girls thanks for thinking of me/us. DS got sick early tuesday morning, high temps and wouldn't settle so we had an unsettled few nights. Then I fed him too many grapes so that was another unsettled night. Thursday night was good. Fri and sat nights not so good as quite unsettled. Ithink he was hot/cold. There is still improvement but I hope he sleeps much better tonight as I have to work tomorrow. E has been having 2 2 hour sleeps during the day which they reccomend. I have to wake him after 2 hours usually. So that is good I am gettign a break. I am feeling much better emotionally too. Has been pretty rough.
Anyway sorry no personals but I might go lie on the couch for a bit

i am SO far behind, so sorry, im a bit like Bec i never have enough time to come on and write the post i want to so i never get around to writing anything !
anyway we are all going good, James is going ok with his sleeping, usually has 2 fairly decent day sleeps (anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours each sleep but usually somewhere in between) and sleeps through most nights, i'd say once a week we have to get up to him for some reason (usually because he has flipped onto his tummy and despite the fact he can get back himself he still insists on yelling about it and we have to go in and fix him !) he has 4 teeth (2 up and 2 down) and still isnt crawling !!! is rolling all over the place though and as we have floorboards i dont blame him for not wanting to crawl on them, he is doing most milestones late (only started sitting by himself about a month ago) im not concerned though i really think it is because he has been such a whingy baby he has been held a lot and hasnt had a chance to do things earlier. he is still an incredibly whingy baby and some days are so bad if he isnt sleeping he is whinging....contantly......all day...drives me mad sometimes.
anyway we are thinking about his party (but have to get through his sisters first which is in 2 weeks) which will just be our families and a couple of friends with kids
Leesa: Happy Belated Birthday to DD ! i think we are the next birthday. James also is strange with some people, mostly people he knows lol in particular people who are all over him the minute we arrive anywhere, if they just left him alone he would warm up and be fine.
we havent thought about schools yet, we have barely thought about it for our nearly 3 year old DD lol but probably going local and public
Andie: big hugs to Cam its awful when they are sick ! are you heading back to work soon ? my hair is still falling out badly, don't know whats going on there.
Luey: hows E going ? is he better ? how many days are you working ?

Hayley: hows Ari going ? sorry to hear he has been unwell again. how are the other kids going at school/preschool and hows your nearly 3 year old N going ? Emily has driven us insane today...she has come up with new sayings when she is being told off.... "stop mum your driving me mental" or "your driving me insane" oops guess where she got those from, naughty mummy says them lol
and how are our pregnant girls coping ? Leesa, Catherine, Macca, Laura oh i know there is one more but i just can't remember who sorry !

Well we have been back for a few weeks now and I haven't been sure what to post really and have been kind of avoiding the thread sorry
I will try and be brief about my stay if you want to know feel free to ask or PM I just don't want to bore you all if you aren't interested. Well the good news is that he is sleeping in his own cot all the time, he generally has 2 day sleeps between an hour to 2 hours and is in bed from approx 7 -7.30 pm until about 6-7 am. We are only b/f now after breakfast, lunch and after a bath and then at least once overnight sometimes twice. I am not suppose to bf him after midnight and before 5 am but it's hot and so I do sometimes... I think the biggest thing that makes a difference is wrapping him, we have progressed from having to rewrap him after about 20 - 30 mins everytime we put him down to 2 out of the 3 sleeps he is asleep within 10 mins and I don't have to rewrap him. He isn't wrapped tight like a newborn but just to sort of mimick my arms being around him. I hope I haven't done any longterm damage and when he is happier I can't deny the results. I also agree with Leuy all in all I am glad I went and i do think D was ready for this, I don't think I could have done it when he was younger and I am glad he isn't talking, there were some older toddlers there who could talk and as you can imagine they were yelling out mum I'm scared etcc... delaying tacticts?!
He now has 5 teeth, his top 3 teeth have just started to cut through. He is crawling like there is no tomorrow and is learning about playing chasies, it is quite cute to see him speed up when he thinks a game is on Since going to Sydney he is getting more wary of strangers - especially men, he still tends to try and charm the women, he certainly will be a ladies man that one He is really starting to show is personality now, clearly has a temper especially if he is tired lol
I am also back at work from the 16 feb, at first 2 weeks of full time for training and then 3 days a week after that for about 3 months and then see how we go. Dp will be looking after D so we will see how he copes. I am not looking forward to it but these things have to be done.
Slowly catching up, gosh is there really 5 of you preggers I can't imagine having another one but have to admit feeling slightly clucky when I was playing with a freinds 6 month old, he smiled so easily and wasn't moody at all (unlike D at the time). So exciting with their birthdays coming up (or been and gone in Leesa DD case ) and can't believe some of them are taking their first steps already while there is some more laidback babies outthere (I would love it if D was a bit more laidback I reckon he will be running as soon as he walks)
Well it's nearly 2 am so I better leave it there, will do some more reading and catching up, it's nice to be back
trying to make an extra effort to not be on the computer during the day (mornings and night don't count ) so I WILL get around to posting properly. in the last week we have cut three teeth and number four is just popping through. It's a very slow process for us though, a little slit appears and it takes a couple of days for the whole tooth to appear through, we are still working on them coming out more as they only just peek through a couple of mm. Finally!!! I think this officially makes Jake the last to get teeth. He's cruising around, had his first big fall the other day, his face is covered in scabs Climbing everything he can though, and really changing into a little boy. He cracks me up constantly. His new little gross trick is to take stuff out of the bin when we aren't around.....usually finding something to eat. EWWWWWW!! And he's getting quick on his feet to chase too!! So my job today is to put the bin up HIGHER. He also loves to open my drawer in the vanity and open all my roll-on deodorants, creams, perfumes etc and taste them. MMMMMMM!! I didn't think he's be able to unscrew the lids...but he can. he's a right little parrot, copying everything he can. he's saying a few more words besides mum, dad ad bub, he says "boo!" and when you say "where's jake?" he says "there!"
look i've written an essay now, lol. PROMISE to come in and catch up on personals tonight. hope you are all doing well
oooh I forgot to add too....how are your bubs all going with feeding themselves? Jake's really taken off lately, he prefers a fork and does a damn good job of stabbing/scooping the food and putting it in his mouth. I can't remember about when my other kids started doing this. Like I said he's such a parrot, copying everyone. Hayley is Ari like this with all the kids to copy?

Bec: Flynn can feed himself if I load the spoon and give it to him, which is kind of annoying, it's so much less messy if I feed him! He is great with his hands tho...he eats anything he gets his hands on! He was 'helping' DH fix a car the other day and was eating the sockets, he was covered in grease and dirt...sigh!
Nic: Sounds like D is doing really well. I'm so pleased to hear that he is sleeping better and by himself too!! Woo hoo, I'm glad you are getting a bit of a break!
Mel: Generally I am doing quite well. I have been slightly emotional over the last week. A combo of hormones, awfully hot weather and a grumpy baby were not the best mix! I'm slightly more sane this week...well so far, it is only Tuesday tho
Luey: 2x2 hr naps is so great! I'm so glad E seems to be settling down for you. You have been thru so much
Leesa: Wow 1 already! Congrats on your engagement too I got some BBH too! they are great so far! I did have a dream last night that someone was saying how disgusting the condition of my MCN's were!!! They still look brand new so far!! We haven't thought of schools yet. I don't know if we will even be in the state in 5 yrs time!
Andie: Flynn is walking so much now. He is getting quite fast and can go quite far! It is very cute. He was in the care of DH the other night and they were outside. DH turned around from what he was doing and couldn't see Flynn so he went a bit futher and still couldn't see him. DH found him on the landing at the back door...He had climbed about 8 concrete steps...so glad he didn't fall. Poor little Cam. I hope he is all better now.
Has anyone else been getting tantrums? Flynn has been chucking full on tantrums and I am quite shocked...I didn't expect them so early. If I tell him not to do something he chucks it. If I move him cos he is doing something he shouldn't he chucks it. When I say chucks it I mean he throws himself on the ground and kicks his legs, practically headbutts the ground, throws stuff, screams the whole time... full on. The other day he was having dinner (eating really well for a change!!) DH walked past the doorway and Flynn just lost it. Wouldn't eat anymore, chucked his spoon and cup onto the floor, started kicking his legs and arching his back...full on tantrum. I was just staring at him with my mouth open, I couldn't believe it! I hope it's just a phase cos I'm not a fan of it at all...any advice from you mums with older kids??

Hi girls...Well Willie is better now finally...Much happier.
The sleeping - well better sometimes and not so good others. Last night he slept until 3am in his cot...then I just put him in with me in bed and he slept through till 6am. So that was fantastic! He was only awake for 20mins max for BF.
Will do personals later in the week - just finished work this arvie!
Sunday night he was up twice....I am just hoping he grows out of it soon!!!
We seem to have some success with putting him in his cot until he wakes at first (usually early morning). Then I BF and he goes to sleep in bed with me and poor hubby goes to the spare bed...but this way we are getting a lot more sleep. He is averaging sleeps of 4-5hours now. A few weeks ago it was 2-3, so we are heading in the right direction since we started co-sleeping in the mornings.
I am thinking of putting the cot up against the side of the bed - will experiment this week.
Oh, I was so spoilt from 2-8months!!! But I keep holding onto the fact that he slept right through once, so he has to do it again!
So who is back at work? How are you all coping? Are you enjoying getting bacvk out into the world or is it stressful having to leave bubs? Luckily Ben and Chloe were always easy to leave and they had the most fantastic daycarer so I did really enjoy getting back into the world, for a few hours a week anyway.
Mum2Willie - What is working for you re: sleeping is what we've been doing for ages While I'm not at work in a workplace I'm on call 24/7 (as I know you all appreciate ) for three littlies so sleep is a big priority for me too. I just get it the best I can which seems to be bringing him to bed when he wakes in the early hours of the morning. I'm a big advocate for whatever works

Luey i'm glad your trip was worth it It's brilliant to hear thing have improved and I loved that you got out for a pedicure!! You have had a rough go for sure, especially for your first time around but you can now be confident that any subsequent babies have no chance against you now!! lol
Leesa I'm glad Maddy had a lovely birthday and you did too Big news happening in your world lately!!! As for schools, we don't see it as an issue, we aren't in for private schools and Ben is starting school at a lovely small bush school in two weeks. if we are still in the area Jake will be going there. But if you are looking at in particular prestigious private schools then you probably aren't jumping the gun!
Andie, poor Cam. It's awful isn't it? I hope he's feeling better soon. Is he getting geared up for footy season again?? lol
Macca, yup, the weight never shifts. It's crazy but I was a little heavier than I am now before I was ever pregnant but my body is in much worse shape!!! How are you going with your birthing options? What are you hoping for this time?

Catherine - What sort of MCN's are you using? I have a mix of Baby Beehinds, Peapods and a few others.
Andie - Sorry Cam has been sick. Will is also unwell at the moment.
Just a quickly. Will has tonsillitis at the moment and is one his first lot of antibiotics. He has reacted to them a bit and has bit of a sore bum. Has had fever now for 2 days, is not sleeping the best so that means DH and I are not getting all that much sleep either.
does anyone else have a baby who arches their back when you try and put them in a car seat and thinks its hysterically funny ! James does and boy does he laugh while im madly trying to keep him straight and do up the buckle !!

Feeding: Ari is still mostly breastfed on demand - he has however started eating food in the last month. He only eat finger foods, no mush or anything that requires you to feed him...he is Mr Independent and quiet happily feeds himself grapes, peas, corn kernels, toast. No dairy here as I don't think it is good for his little tummy, especially as my first was intolerant.
So I would say yes Bec - he copies his brothers and sister.....and eats with his hands
Teething: Ari still has 8 teeth...I bought him an Amber teething necklace to help with the next round though as he is a terror while teething.
Sleeping: Hmmm....what is that again? Ari hates sleep and it is a constant struggle to get him to sleep at all during the day. Once he finally goes to sleep at night he will generally have 2 feeds between 9pm and 7am except when he is sick and it feels constant.
Weight: Ari is now 10kgs.
Illness: Ari has been in the wars with a bout of pneumonia last month and last week with a virus with terrible fevers again. Poor little man just gets everything from his siblings (although they don't get sick as they are immune).
MCN: So nice to see many of you join the ranks of cloth users.
AF: Anyone else not have AF return yet?.....I am sad that Ari has started food as this generally means that AF will be returning soon for me . I am thinking of buying a cup like the Lunette as I hate spending money on Tampons or pads. I bought my sister a Diva Cup for her 29th Birthday and she says its great.
PND: I have been feeling very unmotivated and sad lately
Some history...... had PND with DS#1 (non medicated but rather self managed with positive thinking and mantras) and Ante-Natal D when pregnant with DS#2 (again unmedicated and not very well controlled - I seriously wished I would miscarry for most of the pregnancy).
So anyway I love my kids but am so cranky with them and sometimes I just want to hide away or leave....things with DH are mostly great so I am at a loss. So I have taken a step back from most things and am trying to focus on getting us organised and happy.
oh Hayley, I really do understand about wanting to leave or hide. I love my kids madly too but there is rarely a day when I just feel I can't take it anymore, I want peace and quiet and ME time. I've been getting a headache almost every day for few weeks now I KNOW they are tension headaches. Although i don't have PND, I do understand that aspect of things. I'm no help I know but just thought it might help to know i'm feeling similar too
