Macca - YAY. Huge congrats. I love my pikkolo is great for back carries. I wore it to a beach party and E fell asleep eventually. Only problem was it was cold so Istole DH jacket but was a bit tight around the shoulders after leaving a gap for E.

All I can say is I am so not clucky. IF we have another in the very distant future it will be pre-ordered so it sleeps, does not have reflux, colic etc. Plus it will be deilivered via teleportation or prefereably the stork.

njd - good luck at tresillian. I hope you get some success. I am on the wait list for Torrens house in Adelaide.

Things are just not improving here and I am pretty frustrated. I am up 2 hourly sometimes more. I know TH don't do CC. You stay with the baby and they cry . But that I can handle if it is for a greater good. Getting him to settle is not always the problem - it is the staying asleep. Of course our other option is sellign E on ebay (joking).

I have returned to work, one day this week and 2 days for the next 2 weeks then will revert to mondays and not public holidays. I figure ti is the best of both worlds for the moment. If more care is available or our circumstances change I might work more but at the moment it is a bit difficult

    Hi all,

Goodness me, I've suddenly got a quiet house - DH and our 2 dogs are outside, Cam is asleep and my parents are back home in Tas. That can only mean one thing .... Sigh, any minute now, DH and dogs will come through the door and Cam will wake up.

I'm not going to get a chance to catch up with personals at the minute, but I hope you and your bubs are all well, particularly our growing list of expectant mums!

I took Cam to be weighed on Tuesday (almost a month since his previous weigh in) ... and he only gained about 100g in that time. In fact it's probably taken him 3 months to go from 8kg-9kg. He's now 9kg and 75cm. I'm not overly concerned about his teeny weight gain - he's a happy, healthy looking little boy, but the CHN suggested I start using full cream milk to make up his morning cereal and custard etc. I was a bit worried it might upset Cam's tummy, but so far, so good. He's still BFing approx 3-4 times daily - and otherwise I've been giving him water to keep up his fluids. CHN suggested I start giving him at least one bottle of formula a day too. She said water's great, but doesn't help to "fatten him up". Will see how it goes for a couple of weeks and get him weighed again. I know babies gain weight much more slowly at this age, so I'm not stressing or shovelling food in his mouth every five minutes .

In other news, Cam looks set to crawl very soon - he's on his knees and constantly rocking back and forth. Unfortunately (... or fortunately) he's yet to work out that he has to move his knees forward, not backward - cos the only direction he's moving in at the moment is in reverse. And he still doesn't have teeth - think he may be the last March 16-31 baby to sprout teeth? Again, no worries. He'll get them when he's ready.

OK, got a few things to do while Cam is asleep, so I'll be back later to attempt personals.

AndieE interesting stuff re Cam's weight gain. My bub has taken 4 months to get from 8 to 9Kg! In the past nurses have told me that's ok...will be seeing another nurse soon so I wonder what she will say!

    Hi All
I don't get much time to post anymore. Hubby is away at the moment in Qld working for the next couple of weeks or more.
Its been that long since I posted, I can't remember what I have written. Sorry if i repeated myself.
Isabella is now sitting up and has got 1 tooth with more on the way. Its the one up the top next to the big middle one on her left. Its an odd place to get a first tooth but then both my kids have never teethed in the normal way - if there is a normay way. Isabella is trying her hardest to get on her hands and knees but she is too chubby to do so.

We have been seeing a speech therapist for Riley as he has a severe communication disorder. He says alot single words but no sentences. Most of my time is taking up by him teaching him to talk. We are trying to get him extra funding at preschool which will help. I have been onto centrelink and I am trying to a carers assistant which will help send Riley to school for an extra day.

On top of all that we are building the house and the slab has been poured and then the bank decided it wasn't going to give us the loan, so I have been onto a mortgage broker to see whether we can get another loan. I have a guy coming today to valuate the house. Its been one big sh*t fight. I have had enough

I will get a few personals done today before the man get here

A big congratulations to Macca79, Leesa and Laura. Hubby wants to have 3 kids and I wanted two but lately I have found that I would seriously considering having #3

Hope everything went well at Tresillian NJD

    Hi to everyone else
Anyway I have to go as the man has just arrived

    Hi all,

As of three days ago, Cam is finally crawling - I'm currently trying to work out if that means or . This kid is getting into everything. I move something (ie/ dog bowl) and he discovers a pot plant. Move the pot plant - he finds the recycle bin fascinating. At this rate, I'm fast redecorating in the "minimalist" genre. As I type, he's just decided to try and chew the sandal I'm currently wearing. GROSS!

OK, little whinge over. I'm actually happy to see Cam crawling about and discovering the world around him. Even if that means tasting sandals (well, as long as they're my sandals!). He's 10 months old today - man, I can't believe how quickly that time has gone.

Bec - didn't realise Jake didn't have teeth either! I thought we were on our lonesome. Wanna have a wager on which boy will sprout teeth first . How's things otherwise in your neck of the wood?

M2W - from what I can gather our bubs gain weight very slowly once they become mobile. For the first six-eight months it felt like I was buying Cam new clothes every few weeks, he went from 0000 - 0 so quickly. At least he's had lots of wear out of size 0 and some size 1s!!!

Luey - how's things with E? Hun, you need a medal for your stamina if you're able to get up to E every couple of hours at night and still be able to function, particularly now you're back at work. You're doing a great job, and judging by the Xmas pics of E you emailed, he looks like a happy little boy. Well, at the very least those pix will make a great Ebay advertisement .

Nic - how did you get on at Trisillian?

Hayley - how's the "deconstruction" coming along? I saw on FB where you were down to one child for a day or several (can't recall) ... how'd you go? Heaven on a stick, or a bit weird without the usual kiddie action?

Doubletrouble - any snow yet? Wow about the 12mo babies unable to sit up by themselves. What's thought of as "normal" here obviously has different variations in diff countries.

Melinda - has your hair stopped falling out? How's James going with his sleeping these days?

CM, Laura, Macca and Leesa - hope you're all feeling well and not suffering with morning sickness too badly.

    Nina - How's Cohen?

Jo - yay for Isabella sitting and getting a tooth. Won't be too long before she's crawling, I'm sure. Riley is lucky to have a mummy (and daddy) willing to devote time and energy to helping him - good luck with everything. Don't blame you about the house stuff - I bet you're over it. Good luck with the mortgage broker.

Hi to anyone else I may have missed.

Hope those of you sweltering in above average heat are coping ok. Bec I hope Tassie warms up a bit as I hear it's "jumper weather" in Hobart!

    Cheers all, Andie xx

    Hi all

I'm such a terrible poster I just don't get the time to sit and type what I want so I don't bother. I'm sorry. At the moment DH is STILL on holidays and is driving me absolutely bonkers.......I can't wait for him to go back next week. anytime I sit to check email or anything I get told off for being on the computer too much......grrrrrr!!

Luey, TH sounds like it could be good, i'm also reaching a point like that with Jake. although we aren't awake nearly as much as you are! I just can't bring myself to leave the room while they scream but I'm all for a hands-on settling now. For me the difference is I can now see and hear what is a tantrum cry and what is a truly broken cry. The tantrum ones I'm very experienced with and have a heart of stone on, lol. What I've been trying the last couple of days is instead of patting him to sleep in m y arms, i've been sitting on my bed with my tri-pillow in front of me on the bed. After a BF I lay him down on the pillow facing me with him legs still on me kind of and pat him from there. In my theory this is the transition to patting him to sleep in hhis cot. this way he's still right there with me, just not in my arms iykwim? GL with it, can't wait to hear how wonderful life is when you return

So......preggie ladies....how are you all doing?? What's the news? Anyone got MS? How are you all finding being pg with another bub to take care of?

Yay Cam on the crawling and Isabella on the sitting Good work guys!! Andie i took Jake to be weighed today, and i had a little giggle when I saw the scales....he was a whole 8.01kg We have 5 teeth sitting under the gum surface but they are so very slow to cut!! One is beginning, it'son the top on his left. I can see like a cut in the gum where it's pushing but no shiny white pearler yet!

So as some of you know....the house fell through Still very angry with the bank, it was bound to happen anyway (in hindsight, we've since shopped around and no one can help us) but I met with them 3 times and each time they told me we could have X amount and to go sign a contract. So we did. PFFFFFT!!! NOT HAPPY JAN!!! I'm ok with it, happy to be staying in the area we are in, and that Ben can go to the school i wanted him to. I'm also very hopeful I'll be able to pick up most of the relief work going at his school, seeing as my Aunty isn't working during the week anymore......yay! I have an on-call babysitter again.

Not too much more I don't think......oh wait yes there is!! It's a grumble though!! Remember the wedding I was in?? Well the day before I dropped in and picked up my dress. All ok. Had the wedding rehearsal, all ok again. Back at Mum's (we stayed there) she said at 5:30pm that night, "try on your dress, JIC it doesn't fit". So I did. Now we all know I was already stressing it wouldn't fit. Over Xmas I was feeling a little uh.....uncomfortable in my clothes but still thought I'd make it. Well NUP. NO WAY NO HOW!!!! I thought mum was joking when she said she couldn't zip it but to me horror she wasn't. So I raced the dress back down to the shop and was so humiliated that I had to have it taken out a good 3-4 inches!! I kept trying to rationalise that I'd missed a feed and that must be it but I think that was a long shot! on the day it fitted ok but I saw the photos and am so humiliated all over again. OMG!!! The weight MUST come off. So no more indulging for me.No more night snacking. I'm teeing up a few walking dates a week with a friend and I know if I'm sensible I can drop it. It always take a horror moment to get me into gear. the wedding was ok, I haven't seen or heard from the bride in years. But we are old friends so it was kinda nice. Interesting crowd though. I never wear makeup IRL so to have makeup on and especially around my eyes I'm sure I looked like a drag queen, lol. For a laugh look here . I'm the dark haired short fatty, lol.

anyway i have peace, kids are asleep, DH has gone fishing (TG!!!). I'm going to watch some telly and fold washing.

Leuy - I completely understand where you are coming from at the moment. Just went back to work this week, but Will is up over 5 times a night - Last night was 7.30 (up till 9ish), 10.30, 12.30 3am, 6am. Got hubby 2 take him to DR today to make sure not medical prob...but he was aok. I am absolutely at my wits end. When he woke at 3am, I had 1 hour of broken sleep so far. In the end, I just put him in bed with me to get some sleep for work.

We had the same scenario roughly the night before. So I have had approx 6 hours sleep over two nights!!!

He was a brilliant sleeper- slept through from 8 weeks for 10 hrs straight until he was 8 months! Now he is absolutely terrible and just seems to be getting worse. It is like he has completely lost the ability to self settle!! I really don't know what to do...but something has to give if I am working!

Anyone else been in the same boat -what did you do....Chip in with any suggestions please!

So Leuy - I understand! I hope you are coping ok!!!!

    Hi all,

It was certainly a week of firsts for us last week - Cam crawled, then we turned his car seat around ... and he finally cut his first tooth ! He wasn't too bad either, just a bit grouchy when we put him to bed, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Having said that, he's been up and down tonight - has grizzled on and off since putting him to bed. I suspect the next tooth may be coming, so I've given him some Nurafen and hoping for the best.

Re: your bubs waking lots during the night - you have my heartfelt . I don't know how you all function the next day. Cam generally grizzles a couple of times during the night and either DH or I get up, put his dummy in his mouth and turn on his lullaby light. He generally doesn't even wake properly, so goes straight back to sleep once we go in to him. Those nights where he is scratchy and doesn't resettle well, we bring him into bed with us and he zonks immediately. Hope things settle down for you all.

Re: weight. Had Cam weighed today just to see if the formula and full-cream milk in his cereal/custard over the past two weeks has made a diff to his weight. But he didn't put on a gram. If anything, he lost 10-20grams. Stuffed if I know why he's not putting on any weight at all, but he's not a sickly, underweight, unhappy kid - quite the opposite. So, I'm just gonna go with the flow, keep feeding him sensibly and see what happens. I guess he'll start to put it on eventually ... I haven't seen any healthy 3 or 4 year olds who weigh 9kg or less!!

OK, gotta go to bed. At least the Nurafen I gave Cam seems to be working

    Cheers, Andie xx

    Hi Girlies!
It's been a while and there have been a few posts to reply to and I don't want to do the dishes so here we go!!!

Bec: Bummer about the house, but glad to hear you are happy anyway. Bummer about your dress to but good on you for organising those walks etc. All the best

M2W: Yikes! How are you even able to go to work with so little sleep. I would be an absolute wreck! Flynn did a similar thing for about a month and a half when he was about 8 months I think. We had to start giving him a bottle over night again cos he would not settle any other way. He is thankfully sleeping thru again. In the end I put it down to a combination of him being hungry and teething. I started feeding him to appetite (that is until he won't eat anymore, he was eating soooo much, that has settled down now too) which seemed to help. Don't know if that might help you too?

Andie: Yay for teeth and for crawling! He probably hasn't put on any weight cos he is getting active, I'm glad you are not worrying about it.

I am going well with the pg. I'm about 16 weeks now. I am starting to feel a bit of a belly, which is not fat left over from Flynn's pg! I heard the heartbeat when I went for my booking in appt 2 weeks ago, that was very special. I have a 20 week on the 20th of Feb. I am starting to get heartburn already. It's a complete pain. Had the same with Flynn, this is the only thing that is the same so far! I am having to drive my DH to work, cos he lost his licence. GRRR. Poor Flynn, we are in the car for an hr and a half round trip. Usually he is great in the car but lately he has been...well...not great! Crying and crying and crying. Makes it difficult, but i can't blame him.

Flynn is doing well. He is very close to walking. He took 2 steps the other day and he is kind of taking steps when I'm not really watching! If I hold something for him to come and get he will plonk down on the floor and just crawl to me! He will 'chase' me round the house if I kind of shuffle and stamp away from him, it is so cute! He has just cut 3 teeth in about 2 days! one top front tooth and both eye teeth. The second top front tooth doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight?! He has been pretty good about it considering.

Ok that's enough. Hope everyone is well. Sorry for not getting anymore personals done
    Take care

Sleeping update - The last two nights I have just put Will in bed with me and he has only woken once during the night for a feed and straight back to sleep. So the last two nights I have had the best two nights sleep I have had for about 8 weeks. Will is waking in the night but self settling when in bed with me. Poor DH got moved to the spare bed!!!! I am going to try leaving him with me for a while in the hope that he will re=teach himself to self settle - then try the cot again. Here's hoping I get some sleep again tonight!

Oh - and Wednesday morning he woke up with a raging temp - close to 40 degrees! Mother's intuition, hey! But he was so much better today...

What a first week back at work! It has to get smoother from here...

    Hi all

I got back last night, E didn't sleep brilliantly on the way home but when we got home he wasn't too bad, but a bit grumpy. Anyway when we put him down to bed he put himself to sleep after being firmly wrapped and with the dummy. He woke about 930 but settled himself. Had a dreamfeed at 1130 woke at 1230 and was resettled with the dummy. Woke about 3ish but self settled then woke at 630 I tried to settle but didn't happen. I didnt try too hard as he had come out of his wrap. IT was a brilliant night compared to previous nights. I didn't sleep very well though. I have to learn how to sleep again.

Allin all it was very worthwhile so far. I am pretty scared that he will revert but I know have the skills to 'fix' it. It wasn';t doing anything majorly different to what I had been doing. He didn't even cry that much and we stayed with them. I think he was just ready to learn. I am hopeful and I got a rest. I was encouraged to go out for coffee when he was asleep and I even went and had a pedicure.

    HAve a great weekend

    Hi everyone

luey- I know how you feel with frequent night waking. About two months ago Will was great and only waking once for a feed and bum change. He is now back to 3 and 4 a night. Almost like when he was little again.

Mum2 Willie - Have you tried taking the side rail off your cot and putting it right up next to your bed? We did with Will for a while and it worked great while he was in with us.

Catherine- Wow 3 teeth in 2 days. How did Flynn go while they were coming through?

Bec- I hear you on the weight thing. I wanted to get all my weight off before we got pregnant again but no such luck. I need a magic wand to wish all my lumps and bumps away with.

Hi to everyone else, sorry I don't have time for more personals. I am doing great and am now 7 weeks along. Still trying to sort out birthing options which is slow as everyone seems to be away right now.

Will is going great, 8 teeth now and pulling himself up onto everything but still not really taking any steps. He has mastered the art of the high speed commando crawl and always amazes me as to how quickly he can get into things.

    Hope your all well.

Catherine- Wow 3 teeth in 2 days. How did Flynn go while they were coming through?
Well not too bad, but the nappies...Yikes! The teeth are still coming thru and he is a bit more ratty than usual, but not too bad.

Well Flynn has been taking some unaided steps a lot over the past 2 days . He has started standing up with out pulling up against anything and now he sees something and is attempting to walk towards it!!! He took about 5 steps towards me today. Quite exciting and a little sad, my baby is growing up too fast...waaah..

I got some MCN's and so far (all of 1 day!) I'm loving them! They seem to be drying alot quicker than I thought they would which is a nice surprise! I only have 3 so far but my stash will grow soon enough

Luey: I'm glad that it was worth it. I'm glad you had a good night too. I hope it just get's better and better from here on in

M2W: Yikes 40 degrees! I hope he is ok now. I'm sure it will get smoother for you all.

    Take care everyone

Wow, quiet in here lately! Hope everyone is keeping well and not melting in the heat - sympathies to those of you sweltering.

Admittedly not a lot happening in our bungalow ... Cam is getting over a bout of "phlarengitis' (I believe that is dr speak for 'an incredibly sore throat'). Poor little fella was running temp of 40deg and wouldn't eat or drink. No wonder either - probably felt like he was swallowing splinters every time I shoved food or milk near him . I took him to the dr yesterday and he's on antibiotics and seems to be much better tonight. First time he's really been sick, but I guess it won't be the last.

CM - how's Flynn going with the walking? Imagine he's probably off and running now ...

Macca - wow, eight teeth! Hope your birthing plans are going ok.

Luey - how is E sleeping? Hopefully he's been doing well.

M2W - how is Will sleeping also? Hope you are juggling work/bub etc ok.

Hi to everyone else. Keep cool!

Well DD had her first birthday on Australia Day (for those that don't know, DD was due on the 26/3/08, but surprised me 2 mths early). We had a little party for her at her Great Grandma T's house which was lovely.
Unfortunately DF's family have to put their two bobs in and question every plan (DF's parents are divorced, but we are lucky his mum lives interstate). She expressed her displeasure in the location we planned to have the party (being January we didn't want to risk a park party, a hotel was too boring and our place is too small); then she was not happy we didn't invite her sister who lives in Adelaide (reason we didn't was because the last time she spoke to DD's Great Grandma T they 'had words' - so it wouldn't have been the best atmostphere - but DF caved in and invited her for his mothers sake)....(Can you understand why we're planning a weddingmoon!!)...

But that aside it was a lovely (but long) day - and DD was smiles all around and acting very cute. Although it's funny that DD will burst into tears if certain people pick her up (which occurred right before the birthday cake - DF took her and got DD's smile back though phew!)...Does anyone elses babies do that??

DD is now pulling up onto her knees - and will push wheeled toys around - but no full on crawling as such yet - she still combat crawls about. And considering our heatwave she is still sleeping well thank god.

AndiE - I hope DS continues on the mend. It's horrible when they're not themselves eh?

Catherine - what sort of MCN's did you get? I only have a small stash too, of BBH's...

Macca - You'd be due in early September I'm guessing? I'm due late July..I'm 13 week atm.

Luey - how is DS's sleeping going? And how are YOU going? Sleeping a bit better I hope!

M2W - how is the co sleeping going?

A big 'Hi' to everyone else...Out of curiousness, has anyone looked at schools yet? Jumping the gun a bit - but we're looking at private..

Hi girls thanks for thinking of me/us. DS got sick early tuesday morning, high temps and wouldn't settle so we had an unsettled few nights. Then I fed him too many grapes so that was another unsettled night. Thursday night was good. Fri and sat nights not so good as quite unsettled. Ithink he was hot/cold. There is still improvement but I hope he sleeps much better tonight as I have to work tomorrow. E has been having 2 2 hour sleeps during the day which they reccomend. I have to wake him after 2 hours usually. So that is good I am gettign a break. I am feeling much better emotionally too. Has been pretty rough.

Anyway sorry no personals but I might go lie on the couch for a bit
    Stay cool

    hi girls,

i am SO far behind, so sorry, im a bit like Bec i never have enough time to come on and write the post i want to so i never get around to writing anything !

anyway we are all going good, James is going ok with his sleeping, usually has 2 fairly decent day sleeps (anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours each sleep but usually somewhere in between) and sleeps through most nights, i'd say once a week we have to get up to him for some reason (usually because he has flipped onto his tummy and despite the fact he can get back himself he still insists on yelling about it and we have to go in and fix him !) he has 4 teeth (2 up and 2 down) and still isnt crawling !!! is rolling all over the place though and as we have floorboards i dont blame him for not wanting to crawl on them, he is doing most milestones late (only started sitting by himself about a month ago) im not concerned though i really think it is because he has been such a whingy baby he has been held a lot and hasnt had a chance to do things earlier. he is still an incredibly whingy baby and some days are so bad if he isnt sleeping he is whinging....contantly......all day...drives me mad sometimes.

anyway we are thinking about his party (but have to get through his sisters first which is in 2 weeks) which will just be our families and a couple of friends with kids

Leesa: Happy Belated Birthday to DD ! i think we are the next birthday. James also is strange with some people, mostly people he knows lol in particular people who are all over him the minute we arrive anywhere, if they just left him alone he would warm up and be fine.
we havent thought about schools yet, we have barely thought about it for our nearly 3 year old DD lol but probably going local and public

Andie: big hugs to Cam its awful when they are sick ! are you heading back to work soon ? my hair is still falling out badly, don't know whats going on there.
