bit of a long story, he had to go help his ex she needed an ambulance etc etc and he was txting me to say he may need a couple of days to sort a few things out and didn't explain properly and didn't want to worry me and didn't tell me exactly what was going on because i was having a tough time myself and thought he was protecting me from more stress.

God it sux being sick when you're a parent...... There is just no rest you just have to keep plodding along.
