Guilt ... isnt that a pre-requisite for parenthood? I am definately considering it, especially since we are thinking about try for our third baby towards the end of the year. I will need a break when I am pregnant and tired no doubt as I have no family in Melbourne to help out with that.

Not a whole heap to report on from here. I think Liam believes he has been employed by energiser as he is forever on the go like the bunny. I am exhausted trying to keep up with him. He is still TT as he went through a month or so where he wasn't at all interested. Even now it deoends on his mood, where we are etc. He is still only doing poos in his nappy. i think he knows he needs to do it cause we go back and forth to the loo a few times with no result only to go in his nappy a few minutes later:wall:. I am in no rush, Bradley was close to 3 before he was TT and it happened in a matter of about a week.
We are on the countdown to our trip to the snow. DH bought himself some new ski boots for his birthday which is tomorrow and myself, DH and Brad all got ski clothes a few months back. I am looking forward to Liam being able to play more this year, so I have plans to go tobogganing with them. It should be great as we are going with three other families with kids and one friends parents are going too.
Well, we have officially had our house for one year :clap:. Funny thing is there is still stuff the builder needs to fix! When i think about it, it has gone really fast, i feel like i have lived here for alot longer in some ways.
Bradley has book week at school this week so i am in the midst of coming up with a book character- the catch is it has to have been a book before a movie and you need to have the book to show what you are dressing up as. So far all of my suggestionshave resulted in a screwed up face......guess at this rate he will go in uniform! I have liam's sorted though. as most of you would know Liam is/was forever falling over and banging his head, so when i saw target had Mr Bump summer pj's i had to get them. So Liam will be going in the shirt from that with jeans and a bandage around his head.

I feel bad because Mia is almost 2 and a half and is so not interested in being toilet trained. She tells me when she wees and poohs, but wont have a bar of the potty. Any suggestions?
Other than that she is well and truely a terrible two poster child. Just when I thought she was getting better, she reverted back to her naughty pushing her sister over behaviour today :wall:
Someone told me today, it doesnt get better anytime soon ... sigh!
Wow, time has flown and everyone must be so very busy.
We are all safely back from the snow in one piece, no injuries, however people we went with have come back with chest infections and bad colds. I have an annoying cough, but it is starting to get better. The boys had a great time. Brad went to ski school for three days then skied with either DH or myself the other days. I hired a tobbogan and the kids loved that too....even me! Liam thought it was so much fun.
I have finally got a date to see a specialist for Liam. After many many phone calls trying to get in and after calling the paediatritian back he has managed to get me into another specialist at the John Hunter Hospital mid October, which is much better than the "early next year" time frame i was given with the other Dr. Hopefully after that we may know where we stand with his growth progression.
Liam is still in the land of "trying to TT" Some days he goes and other days he does not. I tried to encourage it more by buying wiggles pull up training pants but it doesn't matter if he has those or a nappy, as he may remember or decide to go or he may not. So it didn't end up being a very good bargaining tool. I'm in no rush. i am sure with the warmer weather coming and being outside alot more we might get somewhere as that is how Brad started, by weeing on the trees!!!

its been ages since ive posted in here!
Abby is not well at the moment. she has had some sort of cold for over 3 weeks now and its turned into ear and chest infection. She is so miserable its just sad and horrible. She is aggressive, wont eat or drink much, cant sleep very well and gets into these fits or screaming like shes being hurt and nothing can make her happy. Shes been on the anitbiotics for 3.5 days so i hope she will come good soon and turn back into my darling loving cheeky girl. Im worried.
In other news as you can see form my ticker Abby is going to be a big sister. So far so good, bub looks great and ive hardly had any sickness so it looks like im getting away with it! haha
Hey good luck with the TT ladies! Ive posted about this somewhere else on here. Abby is terrified of poos. will do wee in the toilet as happy as anything but any feeling of a poo coming she sooks for her nappy or to go to bed. Have had 3 times where she has accidently done poop in her knickers and once in her potty by accident and she went crazy each time, shaking, crying and screaming. Have just backed off, especially now thats shes not well.

Em - so sorry to hear Abby is not well and it must be particularly difficult when you are no doubt tired and pg! Congrats on your pg and I hope it all goes smoothly. I think I'm just about the only one left in here with a one and only, so I'm sure the others will have plenty of tips for you!
Kas - sounds like the snow trip was a blast! I hope the appointment with the specialist next month goes okay. What do you think is going to happen? Liam is doing better than Lucy on the TT, she is totally interested in the process and the new undies, but not at all committed to doing anything! We are going cold turkey on Friday, when I'll have four days in a row to stay at home with her and give it a good go. She is all excited about wearing her new 'princess' and 'pony' undies instead of nappies and was quite disappointed this morning when I told her she'd have to wait until Friday. She can put her little seat onto the toilet and tell you step-by-step how the procedure works, but we'll see if that translates into actual effort come Friday!
Kazaraz - like Mia Lucy does not like the potty at all. We went out and bought two special pink padded toilet seats for our toilet since she's much more interested in the toilet paper and Mummy's and Daddy's toilet. She thinks those are great so we're going straight to the real toilet rather than the potty. I have a feeling the undies are the real drawcard, so hopefully the incentive to not get Cinderella wet might work. I can see myself running around with carpet cleaner a lot! She is interested when I go to the toilet (and visitors!) and what I'm doing (exactly), so I figure that's a sign.
I really hope things get easier for you and Mia. Sounds like it must be tough to juggle both of the kids and give them the attention they demand. I just finished Pinky McKay's Toddler Tactics book and I thought it was great. Where there were things I haven't been doing I have been trying to give them a go.
We are doing pretty well at the moment. I have a lot more work on and scheduled to stay that way for the next six months or so. Which means at least we'll have a good Christmas! Lucy has been trying two days a week at preschool for a few weeks (while some kids are on holidays) and is doing very well with that, so I have no doubt that when we go to two days permanently next year she will manage no trouble. I have noticed that when I am doing things with her one-on-one she is usually very well-behaved and she reserves mucking about for when it's both DP and I! She is growing like a weed and I've had to put away a lot of her size 2 clothes and pull out the size 3s. She's always very impressed when it's a hand-me-down (someone else's stuff must just be so much better!)!
She is still bfing twice a day to my surprise. I was sure she'd have stopped by now. The night time bf is a bit shorter and less interesting 'cause she loves her stories, so maybe this will go soon. At the moment she is into the Dr Seuss books, we have to read a few every day. She also loves the library, and the concept of giving books back (so another little girl can have a turn) is developing. She's into fairies, princesses and dress-ups a lot. I'm trying for gender balance - but I'm losing! The other thing she loves is instrumental music and she can name heaps of the different instruments in an orchestra by listening. I went outside the other day and she had picked up two sticks and was rubbing one the other and telling me 'Look Mummy, it's a violin!' Her true favourite is the saxophone (we saw a band at a local fete a month ago), to Daddy's horror! We are taking her along to a Baby Proms concert being held at a local school this weekend - she will love it.
Her pronounciation of the letter 'L' is getting there. She is starting to form it a lot more clearly and I make sure she looks at me carefully when I repeat words with the sound in it. Her preschool teacher says she'll probably be fine by age 3 and if not to see a speech therapist after that.
What else... Oh, the last few nights and nap times she hasn't wanted us to come in to put her to bed. We read her stories in the lounge, she gets down and tells us to 'stay there' and toddles off herself, shuts the door and hops into bed (in the dark!). We got her to at least give us a kiss first last night! I can't believe how independent she is!!

Jennifer - good luck with the TT. We're going cold turkey in the school holidays.. coz then we don't have to go out as much to swimming and music lessons and stuff. Tallon can't say his L's either.. he is Tat-tan and his sister is Kay-ga LMAO. I asked mum at what stage does it become an official speech impedement, but she didn't know, but she said not to worry about it. I too get him to watch me for the L sound. Hopefully he'll get it soon. Oh the other funny one is balloons are babboons hehehe.
Can't think of any specific news or updates! So I'll leave it there for now.
Oh - it was our wedding anniversary on Saturday, and DH has paid for a balloon ride! argh! I'm freaking out LOL. I told him we have to have our wills done and our life insurance sorted before we go LOL. I asked him if we could go in separate balloons so if anything happens the kids won't be orphans. hehe - can you tell I'm a little nervous??!

Congrats Emz on baby no 2, its a very exciting time. I think pregnancy No 2 flies as you are so busy with your little one already. We are thinking about No 3 really seriously at the moment. Sometime I think we are crazy, but we are not done and want at least one more. We also dont want to wait and have a big age gap. We are kind of looking at it like, how much harder can one more be?! :dance:
Jennifer & Kas, in regards to the toilet training we are getting no where. After Mia decided she wanted to go on the potty, she has now reverted to refusing to have nickers on and just wants a nappy. She told me she doesnt like nickers. So I think I will just wait for the warmer weather and go cold turkey as well. Does anyone think from experience the no nappy, no undies way is the way to go? I have heard conflicting stories and just think ewww ... for when they do a pooh!
Like you Jennifer we are becoming increasingly blown away by Mia at the moment. The things she comes out with ... she has developed a fear of spiders and anything that looks remotely like one will have her staying put until we move it. I cleaned her room this morning, putting all the books back on the book shelf and she said to me that's perfect mummy! Haha, cute. Not so cute, she told me today that she didnt like me :( She has started telling us when she likes something, when she doesnt and especially when she has had fun. I know its part of the parcel, but still not nice to be told that. SIGH.
Congrats Liz on the wedding anniversary, love to hear how the balloon ride goes!
Anyway on that note I shoudl go, both girls are asleep (my baby is 1 in 3 weeks)!! Take care everyone.

Aah yep.. we have the Tallon don't like daddy (not mummy LOL - still loves me ;) ) thing happening too. Tells daddy to go :( Poor daddy. Not really sure he knows what he's saying, coz he's kinda saying he doesn't like everything even tho he does. So dunno.. probably says it coz it gets a reaction.
Lucy goes even further with DP... won't give him kisses or cuddles and leaves him hanging for any kind of attention sometimes! Makes him work for it, clever girl! ;) But not for me unless she's particularly cross, and even then halfway through a tantrum all she asks for is a cuddle from Mummy.
kazaraz - Mia is trying to get your attention and she's a smart cookie - she knows what pushes your buttons. I've heard it's quite common for a toddler to not want to toilet train while they have a younger sibling that is in nappies (and getting heaps of attention with nappy changing - in your toddler's opinion anyway!). It'll pass, apparently. I can't believe your baby is nearly one as well!!
Yes well I am doing the ignoring thing with the I dont like you comments. I dont really know how else to tackle it, and if she doesnt get a reaction, then hopefully it will stop.
I didnt look at the toilet training issues like that Jen, but I can see how that is an issue now you have said it. I think I will go and buy a chart and try to make it special and just something for Mia. Its hard not to give the littler one more attention at the moment, as she is mobile and getting into everything, so I am constantly chasing her!
How hard was it to buy a birthday present for Tay, when we have another girl so close in age! That has been really really hard we have found.
kazaraz - that's what we're doing for Lucy. We went shopping for special undies and let her choose between a few different designs (she chose the princess undies and I got a whole heap of plain ones as well). We also bought her a book about TT with a chart and stickers in the back. She has a special stamp as well, so when she sits on the toilet she can have a stamp and when she does a pee or a poo she can have a sticker on her chart.
I'm sure with all the positive attention for being mummy's big girl with special undies will do the trick for Mia. (BTW, I read the info in Pinky McKay's fabulous book 'Toddler Tactics' - I highly recommend it). Let us know how you go when you decide to try. I'll give you our feedback after Friday!
Hey Jen, where did you get the book with the chart in it? I have seen them advertised at Toys'r'us but that is a fair drive away. I need to go to the shops today, they have the norm, Big W, Kmart and Target. Hopefully all goes well for you!
I got it from Learning Ladder, at a book party. They have a website, try googling it. My DD's preschool just sent home the catalogue and it's still in there, so I will give you the details:

Emz........I am so glad you posted, I have been thinking about you for a while as i hadn't seen you around for what seems like a year and was wondering how you all were doing. Judging by your ticker you have been great. :hug: Congratulations and enjoy the rest of your pg :clap:. Abby sounds miserable, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and transform her back to her old self.
Jen, i have been told to expect blood tests, an MRI to check the function of hisPituitary gland and more than likely x-rays to check his bone growth, as apparently by 3 years all the bones have formed in your wrist. That would then give an indication of if his body still may "catch up" so to speak. If the Pit. gland is not working properly he will more than likely need a growth hormone to help his body grow. All of these are just things the peadiatritian said would be the main things to happen. What actually happens, i guess we will find out when we get there. I am sure it won't be over in a couple of visits though:wall:.
DH is away this week for work and I am ready to check into the looney home. The boys are driving me crazy and I am just soooo tired, no matter how much sleep i get, needless to say my pacience is wearing extreamly thin.
Best go and organise dinner so i can get kids into bed, mainly so i don't have to listen to the fighting and crying. Bring on Friday night when daddy gets home.
