Cass - WTG on Oskar’s 6 hour sleep! And your first BF in public. It is quite daunting isn't it? I was really nervous the first time as it can take a bit to get him attached properly and so on, but I think it gets easier doesn't it?
Sasha - I have dropped off to sleep feeding Nic as well. I can't imagine what it looks like, but luckily I am usually up on my own at that time of the night.
Sonia – what is the problem with Kaiden’s eye? When my DD was a baby, they thought she had a lazy eye, and we have just kept an eye on it over the years. Last year, we took her to a specialist as I also wear glasses, and he said she has Dwayne’s Syndrome, which looks like a lazy eye, but she actually can’t turn her left eye to the left. It isn’t a muscle thing, it’s a brain thing so there is nothing we can do about it, but it doesn’t affect her day to day, but she will never be a pilot! I hope everything is ok with Kaiden’s.
Saram – The pics of Ariya are beautiful. She looks like an Angel.
Rachel – I gave Nicholas his first massage tonight, and he loved it. He was really quiet and wide eyed. As for the expressing, I have only ever been able to express 25mls at a time. I don’t know how to make it any easier, but good luck!
As for us this week, Nicholas has had a couple of shocking nights. He must of spewed up some milk, then inhaled it, as he was coughing and spluttering and couldn’t breath, his face went bright red! DH ended up taking him into the shower to see if that helped, which it did luckily. He did this two nights in a row, so then we had him in bed with us as I was worried about him. I have taken to giving him 1 BF each day, usually in the late afternoon, so we have some nice quiet time together. Since I stopped fully BF, my BB’s have settled down, and after having two really engorged days (very uncomfortable!!) I found it a lot easier to get him attached. I know my supply is now low, but it is enough to settle him, and I am still happy to keep doing both for now. Tonight, I bathed him, gave him a massage and then a BF and he is sound asleep and has been for a few hours.
I got 3 smiles today!!! I was so excited, as he has smiled at his daddy, his Grandma and his Parge (Grandfather), and I was beginning to think that he didn’t like me! He gave me the biggest smiles today and I think he is a lot happier now since the medication for his reflux has started to work, and his tummy is full. He has started to finally put on weight, but I will have to weigh him tomorrow to see how much he has put on.
