Just a quick one before i take DS to preschool. THings are going well,
We had a bit of a bad day and 2 wake ups but all is good.... DD has grown up just way to fast. i cant believe she is happy to play alone. I mean she went from being a clingy whingy baby girl to a delight. i mean she still has moments but its just so nice to see her able to amuse herself for for a portion of the day,she has been playing peekaboo with her Dora lounge, and she's just so inquisitive and intregued with everything.
Abb- Glad to hear you had a great time with the BB ladies....
NaNa and Sass- sorry to hear your having sleeping issues. Just when i think i have DD sorted out she does a back flip like last night AND NOTHING WORKS....
Bec- DS was my saviour and made me very proud. I have been trying to look at the FF as a positive as i was (am ) finding that i still struggle with the "bad mothers guilt" soi have to keep a positive spin on the decision or else i'd cave in and be a blubbering mess (like i was with DS) Wish my DP could put DD to bed... He tries but she cries for me, think he just doesnt do the same things. maybe eventually... DP is a bit slow to pick up on things....
Well GTG. Have a meeting with preschool about little miss... i'm thinking about starting the visits now.... want to know if tey'll let me slowly introduce her to stying... (I>E staying with her for 10-15 mins while she plays etc then slowly more and more.... just dont want to have to pay a full days fees for only 30 mins if she wont stay there, so we'll see what happens....
NaNa - doesn't that make you so frustrated when bubs turn to little angels when somebody else is around...I know when I have a challenging day with Cameron I'm watching the clock for when DH gets home as I know he'll to a 180 when DH walks in the door.
Abb - Glad you had a nice time with the BB ladies. Who did you end up meeting? I know there is a few meet ups happening up this way, but as they are in Brisbane I'm a little hesitant to go as I can't stand to drive around Brisbane and I know I will end up lost and frustrated on the side of the road (not worth the hassle) - but I would probably do a meet up if it was on the coast.
Jess - When do you think you'll be putting Tiahna in childcare for full days? I will probably start to do the lead up days from April, in time for mid May. It will hopefully make it a lot easier (for him and me ). Cameron is a big fan of peek a boo - we get lots of giggles out of it.
Well one of Cameron's top teeth have broken through overnight. It's amazing how quickly they pop through in just 12hrs (as I had checked his mouth before I put him to bed and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there).
He has also learnt to kiss - its a little opened mouthed and slobbery, but it's definitely a kiss. He had been doing that to me for a few weeks, but on Wednesday when Mum picked him out of the highchair she cuddled him and he turned his head to her and kissed her on the lips. He then did it yesterday arvo with DH - when he got home. It's so cute. He has also learnt to do that noise like when you play 'cowboys and indians' - with his hand slapping his mouth while he makes a noise. I've been trying to get him to do it for a few months - then finally last week he did it for me, and now he can do it himself. I did the grocery shopping on my own with Cameron the other day and towards the end he was getting a little bored - so I encouraged him to do this and it kept him amused for the rest of the time.
Well I actually tried to submit this about 1.5hrs ago but belly belly seemed to be down. Cam's now woken and time to get ready to go out - we're going to a playhouse/cafe with some ladies and bubs from mothers group.
Well i spoke with Preschool and they says its best to leave bubs for few hours at a time not small visits like 30 mins. She told me to start about a month before but that doesnt give me much time if she isnt used to it by the time i have to go back. So i might book her in in a few weeks just to see how she goes. she has never been away from me for longer then 30 mins (enough time to pick up dinner or duck to the shops)
I'd prefer to know if she'll be ok early rather then her still not be fully adjusted and me have to be called from work. DP still doesnt want me to go back but with DS at primary school next yr i thought i'd be better to keep the job as its only 2 days. Well i'll go back and give it a go and see how things work out.
Bec- DD does the open mouth Kisses to me (well she kinda just opens her mouth and liks my face. its gorgeous. she's also loving to give hugs now too.... she's getting so talkative and lots of new sounds... she says "es" now (like YES) when you ask her stuff, like do you wanna come up... hehe... very cute....
Well best be off, cleaning today while DS isnt here....
Just took Hamish to his first swimming lesson, he absolutely loved it. I have taken him swimming before but not a lesson. He went under the water no worries and loved the songs and splashing i was very happy. We are big pool and beach people so i am so pleased he enjoys it to. Dd could swim when she was 3 so i hope Hamish will be the same. He feel asleep right after before i even started the car and still asleep now (an hour later), he had a hour sleep before we went also. His two top teeth are through now so hopefully no more for a little while.
Bec - i met Bun, Laura133 and Je$$, another lady(Cocoabambino) couldnt make it but will come to the next one. It was good, nice and relaxing as babies played in playroom while we ate and chatted.
Jess - I am so dredding the day i have to go back to work full time, atm i am only doing 2 days a week, usually thursday night and sunday, both times dp is home to look after kids. He doesnt want me to go back full time and atm i dont need to, thinking of doing an extra day maybe as we want to have a holiday at the end of the year, so need a bit extra cash.
Abb- YAY on the swimming lesson.... if i wassnt so body conscience i'd take DD and DS. Were not really beach or pool people. (as in going to the local pools) We did have our own pool which we used a bit... DS loved it and i'm sure DD would have cos she loves playing in the bath although hates the water over her face so who knows.... I used to love how tired it would make DS. definatly a perk... hehe
Maybe that is a solution to those non sleeping babies... take them swimming late arvo...
Also Laura133 seems like a nice person i have chatted on here with her also... havent heard of the others but i'm sure they r just as nice.... I havent had any time for meets ups and what not... the days seem to be slipping away before i know it DD will be 1 and my baby wont be a baby.... Awweeeee.....
Well DD has been driving me nuts. i think cos DS was at preschool she felt a bit lost. she was looking round and crawling EVERYWHERE... I think she was looking for DS. Poor girl. She wouldnt sleep at 1st but after a while she gave in and when she woke up DP was home so she was fliping out.... yelling, squeeling, clapping, kicking swinging arms.... you name it she was doing it for ages.... must have just been so excited to see DP then i went and picked up DS and she did the same... very cute but funny to watch.
Well best be off... DP has taken the boat out for a test and i wanna sweep down the concrete before he parks it again...
Jess - I've now started to try to teach Cam yes and nodding my head. For getting up we usually say up up and he puts his arms up and seems to do the mouth movement (but not really any sound) for up. He is already learnt no...from every time I've said it to him when he touches things he shouldn't. He also shakes his head alot and I tend to mimic him and say no when he does it - something I've probably got to stop...as I wouldn't want to encourage NO...i can just imagine him backchatting me with NO (I realise he will backchat at some point anyway, just don't want to encourage it too early, ).
Very cute Tiahna looking for Jordan and getting excited when DH and Jordan got home. Cam has the same reaction when DH gets home and when Mum visits on Wednesdays. Guess he must get bored looking at my face all the time
Abb - yay on the swimming. I've been thinking of taking Cam again. We haven't been since November. It got a little busy over xmas and to be honest it got a little boring, especially for the cost. They did the same thing everyweek, and that didn't include putting his head under (well they did once, but for the next 4 weeks after they didn't). As we have a pool we just continued to teach the same things we'd learnt. I've taken him in a fair bit and I know it usually exhausts him...its great. But now I think it might be time to go back to see if there is anything new we can learn.
Yesterday we went to the playcentre...it's call Smileez - its an indoor play centre and cafe (there is a website if you want to see what I mean). Its just got lots of climbing things, toys and ball pit. Cameron had a blast. We met some of the mothers group ladies and bubs there and he had fun interacting with them and learning to share. He also loved the ball pit (i've posted a pic in the gallery) - at first he was a bit unsure how to move, but he got the idea. We will be going again in a fortnight. It's great at the moment as it's free til they turn 1. He was sooo exhausted after though, fell asleep on the way home, then again after I fed him at home. Then I woke him at 4.30 to go for a walk and when we got home he was playing on the ground, but every now and then he would lay his head down, look at me and sigh...like geez mum i'm so tired. He went down to sleep very easily last night too.
We're off to visit a friends new bub today...he born last sunday. It was the bub I think I'd mentioned a few months ago saying it was meant to be bigger then their 1st. It was only bigger by a few ounces though...it was 9pound5.5ounces. It will be strange holding a newborn again, but at least I'll feel more comfortable holding one. This will be the 1st newborn I've held since having Cameron (and I hadn't really held that many bubs before Cameron) - I won't look as awkward.
Before i do my post just wanted to send my regards to all affected by these bushfires.... i cant believe how many people have passed. and to think these fires were lit by some sad person. its an absolute tragidy. When i woke this morning to see over 100 deaths i was almost brought to tears.... what a waste of life.
Makes my problems seems like nothing. But her goes my post. The weekend was very hot here. 42 on saturday and yesterday i think only got to 39.9.... hehe.... bloody hot. I had to bring puppies inside as it was too hot for them which meant bringing in the other bigg dog to feed them but she hates inside and was straight out after feeding her babies. Sunday we went in the new boat... OMG MOTOR way too big for the boat and were on the water at a 45 degree angle cruising along tthe water.... :shakes head: DD didnt like it was a bit scared but DS loved it....
DD has been all out of wack. Might be the heat or it could be from teething and also sounds like she's getting sick. Just what i need right now a sick bubba. DP and DD both are sneezing like crazy are all congested and i feel like constant hayfever. (probably is from the puppies ) Last night DD was crying all night, i'd finally gotten her to sleep then 1/2 hour later she would start crying again... she woke up at 4 and i brought her in our bed and she snuggled up to me and went to sleep, she's all snuffly so i think she was feeling a bit unwell... She's also been loving the "BA' sounds.... Saying Bubba and what sounds like a "bra" sound but when she says it its like "Bra-ba" so maybe brother??? also says "bah-ble" like bottle. Loving the nice Hugs and sloppy wet kisses still, DD is drooling way too much thou, its everywhere lately.
Mis- WOW at Stanks walking round furniture... DD is pulling up but she cant get to a standing position on her own just yet... (well not in front of me... i've found her standing but she doesnt do it alot...) Mainly just on her knees, she is into everything and its very frustrating.... cant leave her for a minute without her climbing or eating stuff or getting into things she shouldnt be. Glad Moo is ok. YAY on her weightloss.... I have been following ur other thread still but just havent had a chance to post. Hope things get easier for you soon. your EP seems to be a real toser especially for making things hard on you. HUGS darl.
Bec- I know i think she was sick of my face that day. this weekend she hasnt wanted anyone appart from me... i just can win... DS is annoying her alot ( he thinks she's big enough toplay) she wants to do her own thing and he wants her to do what he wants. So at the moment i have a sooky girl cos her brother wont leave her alone and an angry boy cos his sister wont play with him.... its started already..... We have a similar places round here, lollipop land and sofy play, there is like a cafe with lots of kids stuff for kids to pl;ay. (ball pits tea cup ride maze thingy.) DS used to always get sicck when i'd take him there. might have to organise a day with lots of people and take all the kids.... (fingers crossed no one gets sick.)
