Jess, thanks for your thoughts. TBH I haven't had the time to call anyone. I haven't even brushed my hair this week, I dont think. It's yuk. You're right, I don't have anyone here. But what to do? I've thought maybe DS still has reflux or wind and that's why the screaming every night, but the paed last time didn't seem to think so. But I'm convinced he was an idiot anyway... I've considered trying DS back on the Infacol, coz the boy's been farting like crazy! He's burping easily after feeds, but he stopped chucking completely. The thing is he doesn't seem to be in pain. I think he's just a night-waker, and that's that.
I usually have the radio on in the house or music playing when he has his naps in the daytime so there's always a bit of background noise, and as long as I resettle him when he stirs after the first half hour he will generally nap for another hour or more at least once a day. It's only when he's been screaming for half an hour in the middle of the night that the conversation seems to quieten him briefly. I think it startles him more than anything. Also, he's still sleeping in our room, with the front pulled off the cot and jammed up against our bed. I couldn't get him into the cot any other way. I have been hassling DP to buy a single bed for ages now, but we never get around to it. Weekends just seem to disappear before anything gets done. I think the idea of the tape might be worth a shot, but not while he's in our room!
I had a nap with DS today, but only because DP had a day off work and he took over when DS woke up and let me sleep a bit more. He's really getting the drift of how full-on this kid is, but isn't able to do much more to help out other than everything he's doing already. I don't know how he manages to do so well at work when he's so sleep-deprived! I couldn't even get to the train station without falling asleep.
Mis - sorry to hear about the virus again. Poor Stanks! And poor you for having to deal with AB pooey nappies. Bleurk!! Get them into the sun as much as possible! IKWYM about the crawl - it's so funny to watch. DS doesn't do it yet, but some of the other babies at playgroup scoot around like that. It's so cute!
Bec - Looking for work is a full time job too... it's so hard. Good luck to you and your DH, hope something comes up soon. It's funny, Aadi went quiet for a while too, and didn't "talk" much, but he's back to babbling in the mornings to wake me up. And then he doesn't shut up all day! He has a full language of b sounds! When he throws a tantrum it's all "bwahabuhbuhbuh babababa!" but he's stopped saying "papa" and now calls DP dada. He's always saying mumumum and wubwubwub. I like that one the best!
Sassy - congrats on getting Jayda to sleep in the daytime! It's quite an achievement! You're lucky she has hair and you can do that cute fountain thing. I was a baldy for ages, and I just know my mum would have loved to embarrass me with pictures of my silly hair but never could!
Abb - when you're done clearing up your place, you wanna come visit me?? I just seem to be shifting things from room to room and higher and higher because DS can reach it all now! Thank goodness he hasn't discovered the shed yet - argh!
Love your avs ladies! I know who my RAKer is, but I still dont know why she chose me...
