    in love. lots of it.

Still here, just too hot to do anything. After spending the whole weekend clearing out my bungalow and trying to find room in my house for all the crap that was in there, I now have two people staying in there, and they've got NO CLUE about anything in Melbourne, and they've forgotten to set their watches to VIC time, so they're still asleep and they're gonna be late for O-Day at uni today, and it's just sooooo not my problem. Oh, and we dont have any coffee left in the house, so it's gonna be ugly when they finally do get up!
Aadi is sleeping better, sort of. He seems to love warm weather, and was happy enough crashing out in the sling by the side of a busy road yesterday afternoon! But last night was ridiculous and none of us could get comfy, so he was waking up for a drink every half hour between 8 and 11, but after that he slept thru till 6.30, so I'm happy with that. I can't believe my mum suggested I should ask someone for advice, and that maybe I should let him cry it out. Of all people I should ask for advice, you would think it would be my mum! And I WILL NOT do controlled crying. I was really angry for a couple of days about that, but my mum lives in another world and has no clue sometimes...

I'm off to the mall today to cool down, so I'll be going shopping, inadvertantly, for stuff for Aadi. Bath toys are looking good now... and some more CDs. He loves music.

Oops, gotta go, Aadi's just destroyed the change table. There's stuff EVERYWHERE!!!
    Hope you're all well!

    Hi All,

MisTree - How's your missymoo? Hope she is feeling better. I don't have a problem you going on about your dog in the baby section...if she's anything like me, my dog is like my 1st baby - I don't even think she realises she's a dog. Glad Stanky is doing well, and IKWYM about the cheeky grins you get when there standing at the door or gate, when you've left them totally somewhere else. It's kind of a look where I am now grin...so cheeky.

NaNa - Ha, Cameron loves pulling his change table apart too. I just have his bath towels and hand towels at the bottom and he loves to pull them down to the ground, then gives this cheeky grin - like he knows he shouldn't be doing it. Hope Aadi's sleeping is on the improve. On the cot thing - could you maybe bring the cot into your room, so that he can still see you when he is in it???

Sassy - I'm still here, I don't usually get much of a chance on Wednesday's as mum visits and depending on time during the days, I sometimes only have time to look at other little posts...I put off the thread til I know I've got at least 20-30mins to read and post. Hey I've also started having dreams that I'm pregnant too... though I don't think I'm a psychic (probably in my case wishful thinking). Aren't you the organised one for Jayda's birthday...guess though its only 4months away now. Might follow your lead and go layby Cameron's trike thing soon then.

Abb - Glad Hamish enjoyed the speedway. I can't wait to take Cameron to speedway or even the drags. DH and I had our 1st 'date' at the drags, it would be good to go again (been a while). Glad you had a good weekend and Hamish slept well for you when you needed him to. He was probably still exhausted himself after a busy weekend. I think I mentioned it already, but we will be getting Cameron a trike for his birthday too and I think mum wants to get him his 1st swing set too.

Jess - Glad Tiahna's sleeping well for you. Oh congratulations on the birth or your puppies. How they going...have you named them all yet. How old are they when you can sell/give them away? Will you end up keeping 1 or more? Yeah, I've noticed alot of people leaving lately...I always wondered how people ended up with such high number of posts, know I understand why. I usually only get on here when Cam's asleep or before I go to bed. I don't usually get on here when DH's around either.

Well Cameron slept a little better over the last couple of days. Nights have been better too, well getting easier to get him to sleep. He still sleeping through though, so really shouldn't complain. And woke 7am yesterday and 6.15 this morning, so gotta be extra happy with that (better then the before 6am wake ups). He is still a little grumpy and seems to have gone off his food. I'm thinking those next teeth/tooth must be close, most of the symptoms are here, a particularly good sign for us is the red on his scrotum - which has come up over the last couple of days. Guess we will see soon.

On the food though, I started to wonder if I'd been doing the wrong thing in not offering too many finger foods, but I feel like I had a mini break through (more in my confidence in giving it without the worry of choking - yeah I'm a bit of a worry wort sometimes). Over the last few days I given him some BBQ Chicken, watermelon, cheese and rockmelon and he has eaten it well - finished them off with hardly any mess...I really felt proud that he has worked it out.

He has also begun trying to really talk again...its like he is trying to say words, not just sounds. For a while it just seemed to be noises and the occassional almost hi pitched hello. But now it seems more like bubbubbub, or hubbubmum (think he is confused with hello, bub and mum there). And he is watching our mouths keenly - then tries to talk himself. Guess it's now time to watch our p's and q's (more so DH though).

Hope it cools down for you soon those down south... I'll send some of the cooler weather we are getting here down hey (it's nice and breezy here, but I think its a little too cool for swimming though).

Well better go finish the housework I started and hopefully finish it before Cameron wakes. Took me a few attempts to post this, as seemed BB was down abit again. Eww and it looks like a big nasty storm cloud is now on it's way, gone very dark here.

    Bye for now

    Wink Missed Yasmeen and BB

    Hi ladies,

Busy week it has been for me. DD started childcare on Wednesday. Tuesday night she had her first bottle. On Wednesday she didn't cry when I left her at the centre. She didn't even look my way. She was too busy with the children there, who surrounded her, cute! She was there from 10:30am - 5pm, as I started my assignment, which is due in on Monday, Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh. When I came to pick her up, she cried when she so me. She missed me. I missed her so much. It was the first time in 8 months that we were separated for that long. She refused to take the bottle, which was offered twice to her, but happily ate her food. Lol. I guess she wasn't comfortable with strangers trying to feed her. Today, back to childcare, from 10:30am - 5:30pm, DH picked her up. While I spent the day at the library again to continue the assignment. She pulled the same trick again and refused the bottle. Naughty little one. Tomorrow same routine, back to the library, DD at childcare. My exam is set to be on the 9th Feb. So DD will be at childcare with the other children, except Tuesday, as I prepare my assignment and study. I miss her so much. As I type my work, I have a picture of her opened on the other windows.

She has yet to crawl. Loves to sit without assistance, loves her walker, prefers mummy's milk to formula. Well I better get going to submit other work.

I won't be back til my exam is over. Take care ladies.

I found these little jars of juice at coles the other day and decided i'd buy it and see what DD thought..... It was Apple Apricot and Carrot.... today we wwere out and she downed her bottle before we left had a 200 ml onewhile i was shopping and was looking for more and gave her this juice and she drank the whole thing.... She loved it....

DD also wont drink from a sippy cup.... i have tried sodt teats too.... have started giving her a cup of water and i help her.... she loves that.

Oh bugger she's awake.... BBL for personals.....anyone else noticing bubs having a growth spurt.... seems like DD is anyways hungry and thirsty.....

Well, I haven't completely melted, but we came close to a meltdown here. The power went out at our place for a few hours the other night, and it was over 45 degrees. It's awful. I saw a few heavily pregnant women at the mall and just shuddered at the thought of how uncomfortable that must be right now.
But Aadi is loving it, the weirdo! He's had great naps and is sleeping all night. I've been giving him a dream feed when I go to bed, he wakes up for another feed around 5am, then back to sleep until 6.30-7.30. Today he's had three naps over an hour each. I really should wake him up now, since it's dinner time, but DP's napping with him... I got to snooze for 2 hours earlier today, so I owe him that. BUT he's still in our bed, and screams if I go near the cot, which is less than 2 feet from my bed. He's still asleep, but will scream like it's burning him. Crazy.
Anyways, I've come to accept the fact that he's just an intense kid who needs a bit extra everything. Especially contact with me or DP. Fortunately I don't have any other obligations with my time, other than my own needs, so that's ok I guess.

Jess - I've been giving Aadi cups of water and helping him drink, and also he will drink from my water bottle with help. I've tried half a dozen different sippy-cups, teats, straws, whatever. Nothing doing. Just plays with them and makes a mess. I've not tried juice, since I was advised not to, but Aadi doesn't seem to like fruit much anyway, and spits stuff out if it's too sweet. Won't eat banana even! But I'm sure if I put juice in my sports drink bottle, he'd probably drink it.

Nikki - congrats on Abbie crawling! That's SOOO exciting! I guess it will be less stressful for you if you've already kid-proofed your house. Any tips on how to prevent children chewing on electrical cords?? Or is it just Aadi who does that? The baby legs are great, aren't they?

Bec - good luck with the next tooth coming thru! Lucky Cameron's not suffering too much with the symptoms. That's great. Aadi went off his food for a bit too, then got back into it with gusto, but he's off it again now. I guess it's the heat. It's good that you got over your fear and Cameron likes the fingerfood. It's working well here too bit I'm getting fed up with the mess a bit. We had an ant invasion the last few days! Everywhere tho, not just where there was food.

ok, I have to wake the boys up now. it's late!!

just a quick one i might be back later. i have a new bub starting today its jaydas little boyfriend lol.

Dh said to me yesterday soemthign isnt right with jayda but he coudlnt expalin wat he ment then he showed me. she was playing with the actual intent to play. shaking toys that were emnt to be shaken and trying ot stack the blocks up and was just really really happy when playing.
she is getting so fast when crawling.

LMK: yay abbie on the crawling

Girl: good luck with ya studying and exams. i know wat u mean about the bottles. jayda wont drink for DH's mum but it is only because she bl@@dy tries to give her a bottle while sitting up so poor little jayda has to bend her head back to get the milk to come out. seriously for someone that has had 2 kids she has no idea.

    ill be back later

    Hi ladies

Jess no i don't give abbie anything but water and milk, but saying that she does find lachlan's cup with juice in it and has a drink!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well i don't encourage her to do it but a little bit does not hurt.

Sassy yeah on jayda playing by herself thats great its amazing how quickly they develop right in front of your eyes. Abbie is getting faster at crawling too.

Girl hopefully she will get used to other people giving her bottles.

Abbie will not eat baby food. She will eat the gel baby food thats it. So for dinner i have to feed her what we eat. Everytime we eat she wants to be eating the same. Its a bit frustrating i have wasted so much baby food cause she just won't eat it. She even doesn't like the baby custard, we will eat baby yoghurt!!! My boys were not fussy and are still great eaters so i suppose it is about time i got a fussy one lol

    Have a great day ♥

    Quick message from me

    Good morning ladies,

DD is at childcare. I just came home now. I need to have breakfast and get out of here. My assignment is due in today, so I will be submitting it. Also, as from today, its study time. I can't wait to spend time with Yasmeenia after my exam. I do miss her.

    Love-my-kids and Sassy,

You are right. She doesn't like the idea of strangers feeding her but the girls at the centre say she is doing great although sometimes she does get a little bit upset. Lol. She isn't crawling yet and occassionally rolls from her tummy to her back but never the other way round. I am a little considered about that, really worried, and a little disappointed. I probably will be coming home late today (around 6:30pm) from the library.

It is hot today. 38 degrees, yesterday was 36 degrees. I hate the heat. But thank goodness for conditioner at home and library.

    Jess,

I have seen those juices at the supermarket. I will add it to the shopping list next time. DD does sometimes take a sip from my orange and manago juice.

    Bye for now.

    Hi ladies....

Weekend was beautiful (hot too) We had a friedns wedding on saturday.... very hot. DS was with MIL. DD was an angel although drank all 4 bottle i brought with me and the carrot juice stuff plus a jar of food and a what we all ate... She was very spewy all day ( i think from the heat) she wouldnt drink any water so i figured juice was better then milk???? not too sure... she loved playing and talking with the other kids. It wasnt as bad as i expected... (DP's ex GF was there.... they were together 5 yrs before we got together... and it wasnt too long after they split. Week maybe although i didnt know at the time) She didnt speak to us and vice versa... Alot of the girls were the same (it was like a big group of friends all going out with all the boys who were friends. IYKWIM... ) anyways... they were loyal to DP's ex and kept away from me... hehe... But it was a good day. Bride was gorgeous...

Well we have almost another top tooth cutting through... DD's nappy rash seemed odd until i noticed the tooth.... Poor bubbs.... What cream can i use on cloth nappies??? just terry flats.... She's climbing on so much now. and is hating sitting down and being confined to her high chair, pram, carseat, etc... all she wants is to try and stand and walk but you cant hold her hands you have to hold her sides... she likes to wave as she trys to make her feet move forward..... Also in the JJ.... she is obcessed with her feet now... she jumps really high and then just lets her whole body hang and stares at her feet.

    bbl... mil is here

Just managed to get DS back to sleep... what a morning! We had a MCHN appointment that I forgot about, then when I realised, I rushed around and got ready to go, went to put DS in the pram and it wasn't there! It's in DP's car! I asked (TOLD) him to get it out yesterday, and he says "yeah yeah" and promptly forgets. So I had to haul kidlet there in the sling, and it's a 2km walk. No public transport there. Anyways, he's just under 10kg, 74cm long and his big boofhead is 46cm. Will need to check with the paediatrician when I see him next about one of DS's testes not quite descended properly. Blah. I asked the nurse about what to do when your child is allergic to sleep and she laughed at me. Not much useful advice from her. Aadi was due for a sleep at 11, and of course he started yawning and getting cranky at 10 to 11. Meanwhile, the nurse is babbling on about how important routine is, and to pick up on the tired signs, and I'm saying "yes, he needs a nap NOW", Aadi keeps grumbling and yawning, and she keeps rabbiting on and on and shaking a bell rattle thing in his face... so I picked up my stuff and put Aadi in the sling and told her I have to go now since I have to carry him home again and put him to bed. Um, is that rude?? I woulda thought she would know better... oh well.
On my way out the gate Aadi fell asleep. Then, just up the street is the childcare centre where I used to work. Some of the ladies I used to work with were still there, and were out the front so I had a chat to them. Hadn't seen them in years, and they were amazed that I had a baby. They wanted me to come back and cook there - today! I might consider that, soon... But only if they take Aadi for the time I'm working there (and a bit extra some days maybe!! ).

Sassy - Gosh, you must be exhausted having to get up so early, and go to work too... how is it that babies have this inbuilt alarm clock?? It's great that Jayda's so content to play now, and is really getting into it. What a clever girl!
I've only tried a few jars of food for Aadi, because they had meat in them and DP wants him to have meat but I dont want to cook it... anyway, they made his tummy hurt. He's just not eating much at all right now except avocado. Oh, but he's teething AGAIN.

Girl - good luck with your study and exams! Yasmeenia will get the hang of daycare and other people looking after her and feeding her, but you must miss her terribly.

LMK - Does Abbie crawl in her sleep? I've noticed the last few weeks Aadi gets up on his hands and knees, or hands and feet and moves around the bed before he wakes up and gets scared because he doesn't know how he got there or how to get back down! How's Cody going at prep?? First big day today! That must be exciting.

ok, Aadi's ripping the phone cord out of the wall... gotta go!

Jess - look for moogoo online, or the pawpaw ointment in a black or yellow tube. Not the red one. It's ok for cloth nappies. Or just use liners that you can flush or throw away.
Aadi's the same with the standing thing too. It's so exhausting helping him to his feet every time he wants up. He's too heavy *whines* and he keeps throwing himself on the floor... silly boy.

    Hi All,

Sassy - I sympathise for you and the early wakes ups then having to work. Cameron's also been waking up early again - over the last few days theres been a 4.30am, 4.50am, 5.20am and unlucky for me a 6.15 (this was Saturday, where DH usually gets up to look after him while I have a little sleep in - why couldn't i have the 6.15am day - he's use to getting up at 4am...grrr ). I try to get more sleep at Cam's morning sleep (cause if i do it in the arvo I won't sleep at night), but lately he's only been sleeping 1hr and by the time I get into relaxed mode, he is awake again.

Nikki - Guess we all have to have a fussy eater in the house...I've had one for 11years - DH . I find it sooo hard to get him to eat his vegies...grrr...lol. Thankfully Cameron eats everything I've given him...though he doesn't seem as interested at the moment, as I think his teeth are bothering him - but the finger foods are working well. Oh and on Abbie crawling.

Girl - Good luck for your assignment and happy studying. Maybe mention the not crawling and rolling at the next check up...but I don't think its worry time yet, one of my friends babies didn't crawl til after she learnt to walk, now she is almost 3 and always on the move. And now that Yasmeenia is at childcare - she may end up learning it from watching the other kiddies.

NaNa - How silly of the MCHN - the tired signs were right there in front of her . What a healthy little boofhead you have there, lol. That could come in handy cooking at the childcare while they look after Aadi - do you think you will do it? At least you would still be close to him, but other people would have to worry about how to amuse him for a while.

Jess - Glad DD was good for you at the wedding and how awkward with the ex there. I use to occassionally bump into DH's ex and use to feel very uncomfortable (her brother's good friends with my brother). I haven't given Cam anything other then milk and water...he is starting to enjoy drinking the water, so no need to offer anything else here yet. IKWYM about the standing up on everything...Cameron's non stop climbing, sometimes on a mission to get something...like the remote controls. Once he grabs them though he gives the cheekiest grins . Cameron also has begun watching his feet in the JJ and holding them - comes in handy when changing him though

With that said with the standing, what do you's all do once their up. I mean, do you sit right there and get ready to catch - or just sit nearby and try to jump up and catch in time. Obviously they have got to learn to get back down some how, but does that mean a few falls on there own to let them learn???

Cameron has finally though, learnt to sit. He went from crawling, grabbed his toy then went into the sitting position to play with it. So hopefully he can try use this skill for once he's finished standing hey.

Not much more happening here... just slight sleeping issues still. Not only is he waking early, for the last 2 nights has woken in the middle of the night. I think i was a little wrong with the teeth, thought the next one was going to be the bottom left, by the way he was chewing, but I know think I can see a cut in the top (right)...but it is so hard to see. Have to wait for him to cry to be able to see in there...

Has anyone given the bubs egg yet (besides MisTree of course)? When are you likely to give it a go? I was kinda thinking maybe when he's about 9 months.

Well, better go do a little more housework - i made a deal with myself I could have a quick break in between doing stuff, so time is up.

    Bye for now

Bec i have not given abbie egg yet, but she has probably had it and i have not realised cause she wants to eat everything i am. But i am pretty sure that you are suppose to wait till 9 months like you said.

Nana i don't really know if abbie crawls in her sleep, although i know she moves around alot as we hear her hitting the sides of the cot alllllll the time.

Jess glad to hear that the wedding was nice, my DH ex is really nice, they are still friends she is married and i don't really have any problems. I am lucky but atleast she did not try and cause trouble. Sounds like tiahna will be walking soon LOL then you will be in trouble:-)

Girl i hope that you get your assignment finished and get to spend more time with bubs.
    I

    Hi girls
Gee everyone has been talkative on here last few days, I have been working so have not had time to post.
Will just do brief personals by memory so see how i go.
Bec i have not given Hamish egg as such but he has eaten so much food that it was probably in something, infact he had a blueberry muffin today and it had egg so i guess if that counts he has eaten it and no reaction so far. I have given him Milk in his cereal for a few weeks now with no reaction so i guess he is not allergic to dairy either.
Standing i am not sure who mentioned it but Hamish is pulling himself up to stand all the time but he can sit back down by himself so i am not concerned, he also pulled himself up on highchair today (has wheels) and he was walking around it and pushing it along a bit too.
Jess glad the wedding went well, i seen tiahna's pic on facebook she looked adorable. On the juice i dont give it to Hamish and probably wont as he loves water so there is no need.
NaNa - your poor back after carrying Aadi in the sling, ikwym about crawling in there sleep, i am sure hamish does or maybe he just moves alot as he is never in same spot in the morning, majority of the time he is laying opposite direction to where i put him.
Nikki hamish also eats what we eat now most of the time too, he will eat anything though, mchn said they should shut there mouth now when full but Hamish never does, i am sure he would eat all day if i let him.
Girl good luck getting all the study done.

Ok i best be off get an early night.

I am not worried at the moment about her crawling and rolling because she is getting there. I will make sure to bring it up with my health nurse for the 8 month meeting. I am a little concerned about today though. HELP LADIES. I had to pick up DD from childcare today, because I received a phone call from one of the girls, saying DD did number two three times, so therefore they have to call the parent/s to inform them and to collect the child. I was worried. I jumped up, dropped my books and went to pick her up. When I got there, the girl was feeding her, get this, not with DD bottle but with another bottle. NO WONDER WHY SHE MIGHT HAVE HAD A PROBLEM TODAY (3 times pooing). Anyways the girl said DD wasn't taking her bottle so she tried another one and DD was sucking from it properly and liked it better. Should I be worried because it was not her bottle??? I mean, god bless the girl, she is wonderful. I think she does a good job looking after the kids.

    Jess,

You poor thing having to deal with his ex at a wedding. Good thing she didn't cause trouble although your partner moved fast.

    Bec,

You are lucky. Your DH's ex is married and also nice.

You ladies are okay. Unlike me who has the deal with a very angry, abusive, crazy ex wife. Lol
