jess: no its better when they say da da because liek u said she was yelling out da da da all night then u can say to Dh she wants u lol. i always tell Dh that and he gets so angry and now is tryin to make her say mum or ma ma lol.
Abb: thats great that u dont ahev to go back to work full time. At least i was lucky i get to have jayda with me even though i work full time.
has anyone decided when they will haev their next bub yet? this isnt a joke this is a serious question hehehehe.
Dh and i have been talkin and we dicide that once jayda has had her 1st bday we wont try to stop it but we rnt gonna try full on.
Oh, Abb, that's wonderful! So happy for you! I know it's not easy to watch the budget with a baby AND a teen, but it will be so worth it for all the important time you get to spend with both your kids now. Money comes and money goes, but remember the best things in life aren't things!
Jess - I wouldn't mind if DP didn't change nappies, he makes such a mess! And then he gets all metrosexual on me, doesn't like getting his hands dirty... he can be such a wuss! It's funny coz he can't even say the word "bloke" with his french accent. I tease him mercilessly about it coz I'm such a b!tch, but since he pays the rent and bills, and I do practically everything else I figure that makes us about even.
I agree it's great that Aadi's going to be a multi-lingual kid, but it means I really need to brush up on my french or I'm going to be left behind. Maybe next year I'll get to night classes for arabic too. Hah! maybe...
Have you considered giving your DS probiotics, just to counter-balance the AB and help boost his immune system? It's such a vicious circle with AB coz it will make him susceptible to the next bug that's going round. Poor kiddo! Hope he's doing better soon.
Sass - oh gosh no. we never discussed having a baby before I got pg! I know DP wants more, and I'm actually ok with that now, but we have mentioned vaguely that it wont be for another year at least! Depends very much on his job and which country we're living in, coz there's a very real possibility we'll go overseas again.
It's such a glorious day I think I'll do some more laundry! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Just thought I'd quickly pop in and say I'm still here. It's been a rather busy couple of weeks. Even now I don't have much time as Camerons happily playing on his mat, but for how long...
Well I finally read all the posts on thread #3 on Saturday, took me about 30mins, then went to post and all of a sudden the post was closed, and as the computer was going a little slow I gave up.
Last Sunday I went to Mum's to deal with some family issues (Mum lives approx 30mins drive up the highway). Had only intended going up for the day, but ended up staying the night, with Cameron. As Mum and I had a few things on that week to do together, on Monday we decided I'd stay the rest of the week. DH works in Brisbane, so he would pop in on the way home to the Gold Coast, and it meant he got some good night sleeps and could pop in anything else we needed.
I wasn't sure how Cameron would go sleeping in a new area, but he slept very well. I didn't have the porta-cot the first night, so we just layered some blankets and he slept on the floor. I slept on the bed beside him. I don't know how you's who do do it, sleeping with there babies in the same room and especially in the same bed. I barely slept cause I just wanted to listen to him most of the night, and boy he is a chatter box at night. I guess being in his own room I don't get to hear it as much, but he woke twice just for a chat! I ended up getting the porta cot, but Cameron didn't seem to sleep too well in it, so I will have to do some practising in it at home, for when he is a little older and has to stay at Mum's occassionally.
And some great news for us...Cameron can now roll over both ways, WOOHOO!!! And I was able to witness his first roll over from tummy to back. I could see him trying and I managed to yell to my mum to look, and over he went. He's been doing back to belly for about 6 weeks now, so this to us is a major accomplishment. I was starting to wonder if this was an accident (a very well planned accident) or what, but today he has done it 2 times so far this morning.
Unfornutately though Cameron got a bit of a cold, started on Wednesday, and woke a couple of times early Thursday morning, screaming. We came home Thursday then, as I figured it would be easier to get him to sleep and not disturb my dad and brother, who had to work. But now I too have a cold. Damn changes in weather, it has been 4 seasons in the last week.
Well I have to go, Cameron is ready for a feed.
I'll try to get back later. Thank you for all those who asked where we were, it's nice to be wanted.
Sass- DP thinks he's king ***** now.... but not making him be more./....well 'fatherly" He's just loving how she follows him with her eyes and calls out to him all day.
About the next baby.... i could easily go again (have had DP scared already) we'll wait til DD is 12 months at least (for DP's sanity not mine) And i just want to enjoy her as much as i can. Plus i figure 12 months plus 9 months of pregnancy (remember how long that is) is more then enough time to wait for another miracle
NaNa- LOL about your metrosexual hubby... mine on the other hand was an Engine reconditioner by trade... Always greasy, dirty... always working in new clothes... i keep telling him to wear older clothes while doing him odd jobs but nope its always the Whitest newest t shirt when he goes out to fiddle with cars or did on the garden, making this or building that... My DS on the other hand used to freak out when he got dirty but DP has helped out with that now he's digging in the dirt and playing in mud when ever he can... GRRRRR Thanks for the advice on the probiotic... i was thinking bout it but i'm having issues getting to take the neurophen and AB as is... plus forcing him to have fluids. i finally got him to eat some jelly today.. .his mouth is so sore, its bad enough when you bite your tongue and get an ulcer but to have so many on your tongue, mouth, throat and lips. We just found out today from the Doc that it is a form of herpes... (like a coldsore) i freaked out but he said its very common amongst kids could have picked it up NUMEROUS places... i'm already strict on washing hands and using that antiseptic liquid stuff (you know that you dont need to wash off) Guess i need to be stricter.
Mis sorry to hear about DS and his rash... i know both kids' eczema plays up in the sun. What does the rash look like??? could it be a heat rash??? As for the sleeping in his own room... i think its up to you as the parent.
Bec- glad cam went well at your mums. Hope he's feeling better soon with his cold... poor thing... and YAY on the rolling too...
Well i was feeling a tad empty this arvo and had no EBM in the freezer so i made a little bit of Formula for DD. She fussed at first but then drank about 60mls of the 120... feeling very down about it but i guess it will come down to it sooner or later. Not giving up... Will try to express as often as i can to pick up my supply and get some in stock. at least she drank it. so i guess i'll just look at the positive and say YAY she had a bottle...
Dp is at work now so i'm off to bath the kids... hoping tonight DD decides to have a decent sleep....
nana: my hubby doesnt care about gettin his hands dirty but when it comes to a pooy nappy he is liek urs. it takes him so long it ends up all over the change table and if any gets on his hand like a tiny spot he runs around like a fairy lol.
Jess: dont worry about having to give her some formula its better then nothing. i know u knwo this but try not to stress about it it will only make it harder to get some out lol.
i remember the doc and nurses telling me to relax while i was tryin to express. i mean seriously i had a huge chunk out of my nipple and i expressed more blood then milk how relaxing is that lol.
bec: yay onthe rolling both ways. is he rolly pollying everywhere now? we cant keep jayda still.
Morning everyone
Just a quick one as computer is playing up and keeps freezing on me this morning (might be a hint to do some housework) lol.
Hamish is a bit restless atm with teething and seems alot cuddlier than normal and is getting a little clingy towards me lately too. He still goes to anyone without much fuss but has me in his eye sight most of the time, its cute but hope it doesn't go to the extreme of not settling without me.
Bec wb was thinking you had ditched us lol glad cameron went well at your mums but bummer about the colds, hope you are both feeling better soon.
Sass my brother is like that with nappys too, i guess i am lucky with my dp he will change nappies no worries actually he does everything without a worry i guess i am lucky in that way. Dd's father was useless at everything, picked a good one this time though lol
NaNa have fun at playgroup, i must look into taking Hamish soon, he needs to play with other bubs, although he has lots of cousins only one that is close in age (12months) lives close by.
Jess I hope you are looking after yourself too with getting no sleep and Jordan being sick aswell. I hope things improve for you soon.
Mis Tree how is Seth's rash has it cleared up at all?
Ok i better go do some more laundry, it never ends in this house, i am over washing..
I'm back... but forgot what I was going to say so much happening today! um, yeah, playgroup is fun. It's just a bunch of mums from the MCHN new parents group, one of them was organised and proactive (not me!!) and booked a hall at the local neighbourhood centre for a couple of hours a week. Not everyone from the original group still come, and some weeks there's just a few of us, but this week there was 9, and someone even organised a morning tea roster! So all the babies are around the same age roughly, 4-6 months. We're lucky we have a big space with play mats where we can all just dump the bubs and let them "play" together and have a bit of a chat. The other mums are all really lovely. I was apprehensive about it at first, coz it could have potentially been a real yummy mummies crew, as we're all living in a suburb that's recently become trendy and a real hotspot for newly-rich hipster wannabes, but they're all really cool. I'll have to wait and see about introducing DS to older kiddies tho. He was a bit temperamental today because I took some of his toys along and made him share them!! It's a good opportunity for us mums to just get out of the house anyway, and that's vital.
Hope everyone's having a great day, sorry no personals, I need lunch now! Haven't stopped!
Just a quick one, on my way to playgroup!
Bec - welcome back!
Mis - grrrr at XP! Maybe it's boys germs? lol!
Jess - I know that rash... I had a minor case of it when I was working at a childcare centre. Apparently it's transferred thru saliva, and I was washing all the dishes and cutlery for 45 kids... I got the rash all over my fingertips and it was awful. Like burning hot needles tracing my fingerprints... *shudder* apparently it's quite common in kids, nurses, childcare workers etc. Doctors were useless tho, and I am SO lucky it didn't progress to mouth ulcers and the likes. Poor Jordan! Get healthy, little man! Good luck with it.
BBL!
