    Morning everyone
Just a quick one as computer is playing up and keeps freezing on me this morning (might be a hint to do some housework) lol.
Hamish is a bit restless atm with teething and seems alot cuddlier than normal and is getting a little clingy towards me lately too. He still goes to anyone without much fuss but has me in his eye sight most of the time, its cute but hope it doesn't go to the extreme of not settling without me.
Bec wb was thinking you had ditched us lol glad cameron went well at your mums but bummer about the colds, hope you are both feeling better soon.
Sass my brother is like that with nappys too, i guess i am lucky with my dp he will change nappies no worries actually he does everything without a worry i guess i am lucky in that way. Dd's father was useless at everything, picked a good one this time though lol
NaNa have fun at playgroup, i must look into taking Hamish soon, he needs to play with other bubs, although he has lots of cousins only one that is close in age (12months) lives close by.
Jess I hope you are looking after yourself too with getting no sleep and Jordan being sick aswell. I hope things improve for you soon.
Mis Tree how is Seth's rash has it cleared up at all?

Ok i better go do some more laundry, it never ends in this house, i am over washing..

I'm back... but forgot what I was going to say so much happening today! um, yeah, playgroup is fun. It's just a bunch of mums from the MCHN new parents group, one of them was organised and proactive (not me!!) and booked a hall at the local neighbourhood centre for a couple of hours a week. Not everyone from the original group still come, and some weeks there's just a few of us, but this week there was 9, and someone even organised a morning tea roster! So all the babies are around the same age roughly, 4-6 months. We're lucky we have a big space with play mats where we can all just dump the bubs and let them "play" together and have a bit of a chat. The other mums are all really lovely. I was apprehensive about it at first, coz it could have potentially been a real yummy mummies crew, as we're all living in a suburb that's recently become trendy and a real hotspot for newly-rich hipster wannabes, but they're all really cool. I'll have to wait and see about introducing DS to older kiddies tho. He was a bit temperamental today because I took some of his toys along and made him share them!! It's a good opportunity for us mums to just get out of the house anyway, and that's vital.
Hope everyone's having a great day, sorry no personals, I need lunch now! Haven't stopped!

Hi all, Well things here are all over the shop... DS is still crook, Dp on night shift and DD screaming all day. We had 5 wake ups last night so at 7.30 i fed her booby then at 8.30 i decided i would give her a solid feed. (half a tin of apple and bananna oatmeal... ) she played for a bit being sooky and at 10.30 i topped her up and put her to bed. She slept for only 20 mins. i thought the solid feed would make mer sleep longer... So i let her play for a bit but she wouldnt. She just cried and screamed unless i help her. at 12.30 i told DP i was going up the shop to get lunch and i wasnt taking her so i went. As soon as i got back she started screaming again.... i expressed and only got 60ml FROM BOTH SIDES but i decided to add some farex as i thought the reason she didnt want the bottle was cos it came out too fast... Well she drank it ALL... was so happy... she played a bit but was very cranky. I gave her som potato (inside of the hot chip... (naughty but she loved it) She then sucked on the dummy for a bi in the highchair but within 15 mons was screaming and whinging again. i topped her up at about 2.45 and put her to bed and she slept for 3 hours. YAY... she is now happily playing under the play gym. I'm hoping to feed her soon then bath and then a solid feed (i know should feed 1st but i want her relaxed) then a little play and a top up and fingers crossed i'll get me some sleep... Please please...

Crap BBL... My friend just got here

awww Jess, you poor thing! Hope you got some sleep.

    mis - Yay! WTG!
Aadi's 2nd tooth is almost here now too. I can see it. Poor poopy kid... it was soooo hot last night, plus he had a temp and was just so tired but still woke up twice, and for an hour at 4.30. He's moaning and whinging on my lap now. Must really hurt. Hopefully the panadol will ease it a bit, coz he's blowing raspberries out of sheer frustration! wont feed, wont sleep. It's going to be a long, hot day...

NaNa i hear ya on the poops and no feeds its crazy although Hamish is still sleeping, 1wake up last night and the dummy worked so pretty good considering. He slept from 9.30 to 6am. His mouth is driving him crazy during the day, i have been rubbing sm33 on them but he has come out in a rash and i am thinking it maybe from that not sure.

    Stanky two teeth wow.

Jess well done on going to the shop on your own, i know it was only brief but atleast its a start. I hope Jordan is improving for you, may need a visit to the naturapath maybe, my nephew was always catching everything when he was young until my sis took him and they build up his immune system and has been a totally different kid since health and behaviour wise, just a thought. How did Tiahna sleep last night?

Well i best be off going out for lunch today, is my best friends birthday so hopefully Hamish behaves. And off to mus this afternoon they just got back from holidays and are anxious to see Hamish and Maddi. Hope you all have a nice day.

Mis- YAY.... hope your not having too many issues with them

NaNa- Hope Things get better with Aadi...

Abb- Glad hamish had a good night... i know some ofthe mouth gel stuff can cause issues... A friend of ours cant use Bongella with er some as he gets a rash and throws up... might have to try a different one... Or try the bruers...

Also with DS i think its prescchool. Once they go its never ending...
Spoke with the lady at the chemist today who suggested multi vitamins and omega 3 fish oil. so will give them a go oce he's off the AB.

We had another bad night... I though my plan would have worked... I fed her then gave her almost a full tin tin of pureed veges and then a bath massage and played for a bit then a top up then went to bed to settle herself at 8 but was awake at 11 tried to settle her but no good so fed her. then woke up at 1 again tried to settle her but ended up needing to feed her. then again at 3, 5 and then 7,.30 she woke up for good. Lukily DP got up at the 3 and 7.30 for me... he's trying...

It's been unbearably hot today... 35 degrees is yucky when bubs is teething. But the tooth has cut thru, so here's hoping the crankiness subsides a bit. Aadi has wanted lots of cuddles but it's just too hot and sticky so he's been pretty frustrated and reluctant to do anything much, but he's still managing to laugh at me so that's good! And the diarrhea stopped after this morning, thank goodness! TMI...

Jess, a naturopath is a good idea, and the multi vitamins and fish oils too. Just to boost the immune system and general health coz AB are nasty to the immune system, and preschools are just crawling with bugs - one kid gets sick, everyone gets sick, including the family members... Can't wait for those times! blah...
Sorry you had another rough nite. At least your DP got up to her, don't know how you can do it otherwise! I handed Aadi over to DP at 4.15 this morning coz I'd had enough of being kicked and scratched after half an hour of it. Hope it passes soon.

Abb - hope you had a nice day out, and I bet your mum's thrilled to see the kids.

oohhhh it's tooo hot! I'm melting...

NaNa- yeah very hot here too... blah... hate the heat... i like those nice sunny but cool days with a nice light cool breeze. I love the cuddles but wish DD wouldnt want them all the time now.. She's been VERY whingy and sooky for the last month more then usual... today she had a 2 hour sleep which was good but i had DS up so i didnt get a chance to catch up on any rest. (i was on here so i guess sitting on my a$$ is rest... hehe)

Well i just gave DD a BIG bottle of EBM with some farex in it and she drank about 190mls out of the 240. (was from way back when my supply was plentiful) now i have no EBM in the freezer and today i brought some sachet of formula but just as a back up as things are looking bleak... need to step up the fluid but OMG 3 litres is so much for me at the moment i couldnt go an extra litre but am trying. How much do you ladies drink??? How many of you are still BF??? any issues??? and comp feeds and how many solids???

Yesterday we tried 2 solid feeds but sisnt make much difference. today she didnt want any i think cos it was so hot she just wanted to drink???

Got the referal today for DS's speach and also to the pead for behaviour and speach management. Hopefully i'll have time to get DD weighed tomorrow at the chemist... (they have a CHN come in every thursday which i just found out...

I feel really defeated but know i've done well to get to 5 1/2 months with all the supply issues... hoping things will resolve them self... The GP today wasnt much help... he was like "supply usually drops at 6 months, you can just formula feed now they recommend BF til 6 months and you've almost done that" Like WTF... Where is the support and boost in confidence

Also Love the new ticker pic NaNa

Jess, that sucks, what the GP said! Male doctor... grrrr! I wish I could help ya, I have a freezer full of EBM and no use for it. Tried to give Aadi some today but he wouldn't touch it. Just wants to chew on the teat.
I'm drinking extra on these hot days and if I'm walking lots, but nowhere near 3 litres. I take a maternal multi-vitamin, iron and calcium-magnesium (when I remember, coz you can't take it with iron coz it prevents absorption), and I eat fairly healthily but that comes with being dedicated vegetarian for over 12 years. But I don't know if any of that contributes to supply. Everyone's different. I would be getting another opinion, tho, from other sources than doctors. Don't give up because of one guy's thoughtless comment. You're doing great to get this far, and hopefully you'll be able to continue, but it's not the end of the world if you can't.
As for the sooking, I know I read somewhere that teething symptoms can go for a few months before the tooth shows... could be that? All the babies at playgroup the other day were sooky too, so it's definitely a phase!
Hope everyone else is having a cool day. I'm feeling a bit wilted...

Hi all... Well last night was a bit better... I gave DD the EBM with farex at about 8 and and slept til 1.30 i put the dummy in and she settled herself and then woke up again at 2.30 but after an hour of trying to settle her i gave in and fed her. She had a quick feed and went back to sleep and woke up at 7 so i'm WRAPPED it wasnt 5 feeds.

I'm off to go shopping today for DS's b'day... left it til the last minute as usual. hopefully i'll get in to see the CHN also...

Best be off... Hope all is well

NaNa- i think its teething and also the lack of supply in the late arvo to night. i'm just not filling up these days. i have been expressing and even 1st morning feed i'm only getting 70 mls from both sides combined. and thats before she's fed. its like i'm just not making much at all... we'll keep at it thou... not giving up just yet. I'm trying few things and if worst comes to worst i'll sup feed the night one and express before bed to try to keep up supply.

Oh this weather is driving me crazy and its not even summer yet, its so much harder to manage the heat with a baby. I am not a big fan of the heat anyway but Hamish hasn't been coping very well either. I have stopped using SM33, the rash is still there but doesn't seem to be getting any worse, thought it maybe a heat rash though, but i will see what happens with it over the next few days. Hamish seems to be waking earlier each morning today it was 5.30 yesterday 6 and day before 6.30, i shouldnt complain really but once you get use to something its hard to deal with change, and i need to go to bed earlier myself, haven't been going to bed before 11 lately. Had a beautiful lunch yesterday and Hamish timed his sleep beautifuly sleeping while i ate, then spent the afternoon at mums which was nice. They were so excited to see him and couldn't believe how much he had grown in a few weeks. My mum lives only about a 2 min walk from our house so we see them every few days and i think they missed Hamish while away.
NaNa how is aadi? the other tooth through yet, he has grown so much, very gorgeous.

Jess you are not having much luck atm, i wouldnt listen to that doctor, maybe your supply is down because of stress and tiredness, you have had a lot to deal with lately, are you looking after yourself? I drink a fair bit of water, probably not as much as i should though, maybe around 8 glasses a day, Hamish has a feed when wakes up then about 1 -2 hours after he has farex with stewed apples or pears then another feed 2 hours later then one more usually 3 hours and 1 hour after his afternoon feed he has vegetables (atm pumpkin, sweet potato & carrot) then 3 hours later bottle and bed. Lately he has been having an extra small feed mid afternoon but only has one side, more of a comfort thing while teething i think. I hope things improve for you soon.

Ok i best be off clean this house, have work tonight. Have a nice day everyone

    Hi All,

Not sure how long I've got, as Cameron's been asleep for just over 2hours, so will likely wake very soon.

Jess - you are possibly low in supply because of the stress and lack of sleep. I get like this often. I've started to feel really low in supply over the last week or so, because of stress and now this cold (which I'm finding hard to get any sleep cause of the annoying cough everytime I lay down..GRRR). But I seem to go through fazes where I'm feeling low one week, then overflowing the next (I think I've posted a few times with the same concerns). I do occassional formula feeds (usually express before I do this and add it to my freezer supply instead). We also use ebm for that last feed (therefore I know he has had a good feed before bed, and not likely to need another one during the night), then I express before I go to bed (this is usually an hour or 2 after that feed), which usually gives me more so I can stock it up.

Abb and Nana- Yuck about the heat. Luckily it hasn't been really hot up this way (more like its been rather cold, windy and rainy). Abb - Glad Hamish slept well for you while out.

We went out for dinner with extended family on Saturday night, where my cousin from Townsville had come down, but not long after arriving there, Cameron got tired and I was able to slip him into his pram where he slept the remainder of the night - my poor cousin didn't even get a cuddle (so she visited on Tuesday - even though I felt like *****, I didn't want her to miss out). Cameron was too well behaved on this occassion where there was many arms out to hold him.

Mis - Yay on the Stanky's two front teeth. He'll be chomping on steak before ya know it.

Sassy - IKWYM now about not being able to keep up with Jayda. Yesterday Cameron just wanted to keep on rolling, I've got a big blanket on the floor in the lounge room where he is now rolls from one end to the other. Can't take my eyes off him now.

Well not much else happening here. Cameron seems to have lost interest in solids, have tried the last 2 days (as hadn't offered it for the last week because of his cold - especially with his almost barking cough). He just keeps spitting it out, so might give it a rest for a few days. I also find it hard to fit into the day without cutting out a feed. We still do 5 feeds (most days), usually around the same times still 7, 10.30, 1.30-2, 4.30, then wake up 8, and Cameron has a least an hour sleep between each feed. How do you's all find the time to squeeze in a solid feed? So far we've tried the solid feed about 30mins after the 2nd feed, but I really don't think he is hungry (or at the moment interested).

Somebody had also asked about what peoples plans are with future babies. Well because it took so many years to have Cameron, we are not taking any precautions. If it happens it happens, although would prefer they have a bigger age gap and i would like to learn a little more about raising 1 baby before I go and have another. I hadn't had a visit from AF since Sept last year, and started to feel like I might be (queasy, almost fainting a few times, cravings etc), so last week I did a HPT just to be sure and funnily enough was disappointed when it read negative. For us it would be such a savings of $$$ if it happened naturally, even though it would probably cost us more to buy things and I probably wouldn't get any more paid maternity leave - think i'd have to be back at work for a certain time to qualify again (not too sure though).

Cameron has also started waking a few times a night, last night was 11, night before was 12 and 2, Monday night was about 2, yet Sunday he slept through. Luckily though all I do is rewrap him, give him a little pat on my shoulder then lay him back down, put his musical/light seahorse on and off he goes back to sleep. I still wrap him but only wrap his bottom half, both arms are out - haven't had the energy to try unwrapped, maybe when it warms up again and I've gotten rid of this cold (when I'm sleeping better)

Well Cameron has slept better then I expected (bummer - should have tried to sleep myself - I gave up after 40mins thinking he would wake). Might try to have some lunch before he wakes instead.

    Bye for now

This heat is YUK... Just did DS's b'day shopping Gosh things add up. Cost me a fortune... i only got a few things. I brought him one of those TAG things with few books. DD is so cranky cos she missed her nap time but thankfuly i got her to sleep... She fed both sides (unusual) and then was still sooking so i gave her 70mls of EBM and she drank the lot. which makes me doubt my supply even more. i dont feel stressed. The lack of sleep isnt too bad. i'm eating well taking the vitamins, drinking water but am increasing it. taking maxalon today hoping that gives me a boost... I at least want to say i BF til 6 months... So glad she's taking the bottle a bit easier now... I brought a NUK one today and she took it no probs at all...

Abb- thats how i feel... we had such a good run with sleeping through that now that she is waking up again its just hard to get used to the change. i feel ok once i'm up but its the initail "oh no not again" i need to go to bed earlier also... with DP on night shift i have been staying up as i hate going to bed alone and also we had few things knocked off out the front while i was home alone so i'm kinda scared to sleep. Glad you had a nice time with you mum.

Bec- i've had issues for ages but seems to solve themselves but this tim its like my milk isnt picking up... its been few weeks...

    GTG... DS needs some attention

oooo it's yucky right now! everything's a bit of a mess, isn't it? It gets better... right??

Aadi's tooth is thru, and he's been doing really well today, considering. It's baking and there's an awful hot wind blasting here that's driving me crazy. We were up from 2:30 to 3:45 last night though. DS wanted a feed and then had diarrhea. Not fun. Then he wouldn't go back to sleep without a fight (literally - I have bruises). He was awake again at 7, but he's always fairly placid in the mornings, plays for an hour and a half and goes back to sleep. Normally it's only for 45 minutes, but today it was 2+ hours! Then he's up for another 2 hours, and slept for 1.5 hours! Now he's asleep again, so I'm happy about that. I've been offering him both sides at all feeds today because he's very thirsty. Must have realised it's good to drink more when it's hot, coz he didn't yesterday. Lately I've been giving him a solid meal at around 6:30-7pm, then a bath, BF and sleep at 8. Milk supply is pretty low in the evenings, so I figure the solids then will help fill him up. Haven't had any reflux lately, or constipation troubles this time, so I'm well pleased. He's started rolling from tummy to back now too, which is an achievement. Didn't think he was ever going to do it...

Abb - this weather sucks, doesn't it? Glad we're not dealing with newborns now tho, right? Must be even harder. Glad you had a nice time with your mum. I think mine's going to be amazed at just how big Aadi is now. Does Hamish still have the rash? I've only used bonjella a few times, but Aadi's got little red spots around his nose and top lip. Doesn't seem to bother him but he looks a mess!

Bec - I hope you're all feeling better soon! It's a bit amazing that Cameron sleeps so well. Can't help but be jealous! Take your time re-introducing solids, I reckon. Hopefully when Cameron's feeling better he'll show an interest again. No rush tho, right? Great that he's so well-behaved with lots of people around too! Make the most of that! The night-waking seems to be a normal occurrence, but I hope it doesn't go on for long. I'm used to it, but I guess it must be really hard to adapt when he's been sleeping thru for so long.

Hope everyone else is well, have to go now, kiddo's awake and talking to himself!

Well today is HOT again... good for the washing but not much else... My new plants look 1/2 dead... Hoping sunday isnt too hot as were going to take DS to the Trainshed for his B'day... LOVES Thomas the tank...

We had an OK night... quite happy actually. I feed DD breast... she didnt want a solid feed but was still hungry.... i gave her 90ml of EBM with farex in it and it was a bit thicker then formula. she had about 60mls then i topped her up with the other side 1/2 hour after that. She was in bed at 8 (i went to bed at 11) she woke up at 1 i popped in the dummy and she went back to sleep i was so proud of her... then she woke up at 3 same thing took the dummy and went back to sleep. i was thinking Who is this kid, she must be sick... then 5 she woke up same thing took the dummy... then woke at 7 and i got her out and fed her... I was so proud of her i let her snuggle with me and we were saying YAY good girl... she was so excited this morning i think cios she finaly had a decent sleep. although she had 3 wake upsshe easily went back to sleep. within seconds of the dummy going in... So glad i kept buying different dummies and we found one that works... She likes the latex ones. (brown ones)

I did the grocery shopping and she screamed the whole time.. i have 3 tubes of mouth stuff (bonjella, SM33, curash) I have been using the curash brand one and she has no side effects... ( DS i use bonjella) i gave her a teething rush and she chomped down and screamed so loud... everyone was staring at me and it took twice as long to shop as EVERY man woman child was talking to me or commenting on her screaming. The lump is so big but no sign if the tooth peeking through. I wish it would hurry up. poor baby was screaming so bad it was making me feel sick. Its that heart wrenching pain scream... i just hate not being able to do much for her.

NaNa- YAY on Aadi's tooth.... from memory its only the front 4 that cause dramas until the 2 yr old moulars... (from our experience anyways) Dont you just love those night time poosplosions... YUK.... We've also been good with the reflux... although get some constipation still depending on what i feed her. Apple custard goes right through her so if she's bound up a feed of that and its all fixed. We've started Apple oatmeal for breakie and veges for dinner. but sometimes she just doesnt want a solid feed. with the rolling too... DD looks like a turtle the way she moves her hands to spin her self rouns and she pushes them up to arch her back and lift her neck... she wants to crawl but is having trouble getting up on all 4s. she gets one leg bent to the side but cant get up...

    Hope evryone else is well...

ooooooh nearly six months!! where did it go???

Mis- hope everything's going ok with you. Be strong, you'll get thru this mediation biz. Keep in your mind what you want out of it, and hope for that or something better! Come back, yeah?
DS's other tooth is just poking thru the gum but it disappears when it gets swollen. It was definitely there at 2:30 this morning tho, when the little bugger BIT ME!!! Mama said bad words then, didn't she? Holy cow, it was soooo painful!
Not wrapping DS anymore. It's just too unpredictable with the temperature here! And he hates being restrained or confined in any way. Oh, this kid's going to be trouble!

Jess - well done! I'm so happy for you! The screaming in the supermarket thing is horrible, but you're definitely not the first mum it's happened to! Every time I'm in Safeway there's at least 3 kids screeching... quite often one of them is mine but I really shouldn't encourage it the way I do! Best of luck for the next few days, and hope that tooth comes up easily.
Hope you have a great time for Jordan's birthday, too!

We had a crap night, with another hour of fussing and fighting from 2:30, and yes, those teeth are SO SHARP! But DS has been so sweet today I can't help but forgive and forget it all. But since he's asleep now, I'm going to go and file his claws down. I'm covered in scratches again. oh, but butter wouldn't melt in the little angel's mouth...

Mis-t- hugs.... must be a tough time for you... sending you positive energy and lots of strength. I think its alot to expect overnight visits at his young age... i think a few hours is plenty (just my opinion) Do they know about the rash incident. Hope the personal issues arent too much to handle. if you need a chat let me know... i have MSN is that helps.... We havent been wrapping for ages now. I've had the Tommy tippy bottle for ages she doesnt fancy them much like the pigeon one (very similar) but i think once she gets used to the silicone feel she should be alright. Were having same issue with teeth... up down up down... GRRRRR

NaNa- I know cant believe how quickly the time has gone... before we know it bubs will be sitting, crawling, standing, walking, talking... Gosh... My DS walked VERY early... so wouldnt surprise me if DD does too... hoping she stays a baby longer but you cant stop nature. OUCH at the biting.. sometimes DD bites down (thankfully no teeth yet) but gosh the gummy hold and pulling while holding freakin hurts... fully empathise with the naughty words... Know what you mean about claws... DD's grow like crazy... but then again so do mine and DS's... mush be genetics or something...

    Hi All,

Jess - Yay on the sleeping, hope it continues for you. Also IKWYM about the wisdom teeth playing up, mine is also on the move. Feel like I'm going out in sympathy with Cameron, especially with getting a cold after him, then yesterday I woke with a gluggy eye (Cameron was like that last week before he got sick) and now the teeth. I haven't used the Bonjella on Cameron yet, but I've used it on my own, and YUK ! I hate the taste of aniseed, but it does work.

Mis - Hope everything works out ok at the mediation. On the wrapping question - yes I have still been wrapping Cameron, but both arms out for the last 6weeks I think. We only use the muslin wraps (as I figured they are more breathable for both if it goes over his face and for the heat issue). I was thinking about possibly not wrapping tonight though, as it is sooo hot now, that I'm sweating with the fans going and door open. If I do will let ya's know how it goes.

NaNa - Ouch on the biting. Cameron has also started to do the bite thing again, only over the last 2 weeks. He hadn't done that since about 2 months old. Luckily there is no teeth yet, as that could be when we switch to bottle feeding I think (I'm sensitive enough as it is). Do you file Aadi's nails? Never thought of that. I use to have trouble with the clippers (little figit fingers), and was scared to use scissors, so for a while I use to bite them off. But I've adjusted to using the scissors (he'll keep his hands still if I sing to him - particuarly Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - until he learns how to move his fingers that it I suppose)

Today I went to visit my friend who's got a 8.5month old girl. She has started crawling for approx 1 week now. Cameron was getting lessons, watching very intently. But hopefully he'll hold off a few more months. It's bad enough with the rolling all over the floor but it's totally a new game when he's moving all about the house.

Well, gotta go wake Cameron up for his feed.

    Bye for now,
