well, so much for the lovely routine I had going... DS decided to WWF-smackdown wrestle at 4:30 this morning and wouldn't go back to sleep for an hour or so. I thought he'd made up for it by sleeping an extra hour to 8:05, but noooo.... he decided to skip his morning sleep! Around 12 he finally went to sleep while feeding so I put him in his cot and 20 minutes later he's blowing raspberries and squealing with delight at the ceiling (or does he see something I don't??). He went a bit nuts after that and was writhing and squirming all over the place and would cry if I put him down even though I couldn't hold onto him! Plonked him in the pram and went for a loooong walk, and he was calm and quiet but would not sleep. Finally got him to sleep at 3, but only after I gave him a dose of homeopathics AND panadol coz his top gums are all swollen and he was screaming if I tried to touch them. I think the teeth are just going to hit us one after another... which is going to be a tonne of fun!

Mis_tree - so good you got things sorted! I hope it's worked out for you the way you wanted. How's Stanky??

Sass - that does seem like a lot of food, but you know your baby best, and if she's ok with it then that's fine. Do you cook anything for her yourself, or do you just use the bottled stuff? Good luck with the routine. Mine's screwed...

Jess - nah, I'm in Melbourne. And I'm not allowed on ebay on my own... I'm norty... I'll leave it to my mum, she's the ebay queen in my family. She can find me an overlocker, tho she'd probably get so sidetracked and end up with another red leather sofa like she did last time she went to get my sewing machine!! Oh, BTW you need to remove the hidden link in your ticker. There's a message about it in the Belly Belly messages thread, but you just need to delete the [url] bits... ticker shack are the main culprits for that.

Better go finish all the stuff I didn't get done this morning... but I'm too tired to make cakes!

WOW its good to see I am not the only one who has turned their bubs around in the car, I thought we were doing it early.
Liam is on 3 full jars of food day and 5 BF. He is a big boy though. He is sleeping thru night, last feed 10-11pm then nothing till 7am. This is excellent for me now as it works out he feeds just before I leave for work.
We went out for lunch today with 2 of our friends and their babies similar age to Liam. It was really nice and all 4 boys (including Jordan) were so well behaved, you wouldnt have known they were there.
Hope you all get a good night sleep tonight

Jess: fb still goes to mine. CAN someone else click on it and see if it works PLEASE!!!! lol. I think witht he food jess aslong as ur not replacing there bottles it is fine if they eat heaps. it woudl be dif if i was dropping one of her bottles and replacing it with the jar. i mean i have dropped a bottle but i have put all the others up so it is the same amount anyways.

Deancey: so glad i am not the only one giving so much food. i was gettin worried yesterday. ther isnt much useful info abotu it all. i mean lots of places say just a tea spoon to start with but dont tell u roughly wat age they shoudl be having wat.

I am lookin for when u start dropping bottles for food. I am guessing 12 months but at baby clinic she said to have jayda to 4 bottles @ 6 months 3 @ 9 months and 2 @12 months. i cant make any more in her bottle so i am guessing by 9month i will be only be doing 3 bottles and main meals?

Where is that baby instruction manual when u need it, i think i left mine at the hosp lol.

Sass - i clicked jess facebook and yes it goes to my page, now i want someone to check if mine is right? lol

We had a night from hell last night, Couldnt settle hamish until 11.30 and he woke every 2 hours screaming uncontrollably and would not take dummy or even feed. He has never been like this so i was not prepared and today i am exhausted. He had his immunisations yesterday and i assumed it was the after affects of them but seemed more like teething as he would not let me touch his mouth and screamed when i tried to give him the dummy or offer a feed. He is ok today but still not his happy self. \
With the feeding we have 5 bf a day and 2 solid feeds, farex and fruit in morning about 2 tbsp farex and same of fruit, and about 4 0r 5 tbsp of vegetables in afternoon, not sure how much that would be in a jar.
We are going to turn car seat around this weekend as Hamish trys to sit up all the time in the car now. I have changed his pram from bassinett to stroller now but still have him facing me most of the time.

Hopefully be back later for personals.

    Hi all,

Well we just had an appointment with the CHN. All is going well...

    Weight 6.97kg
    Height 65.3cm
    Head 42cm

All in all a text book case she said... All average except height which was a bit over average. So since last visit she has gained 970g since her 4 month check... is that ok... she said it was but it doesnt seem like a lot in 2 months.

Abb- sorry to hear that you had a bad night with hamish... hopefully we have no reaction to needles on monday... i have both kids due and booked in...

Not sure why the link isnt working i have copied the link from my profile page but i have no idea why i goes to your home page....

Sass- I got a lecture from the CHn about solids and how2 feeds a day 1/2 jars was too much... i dont htink there is any rule... i think i'll just keep going with what I think is best

Jess there weight gain is not as much now but 970 g seems fine. As long as she is healthy i dont see the concern, some babies are just chubbier than others. I would not be worried. I had Hamish weighed also he weighs 7.75kg, length 64.5cm, head 42.5cm, actually he has only put on about a 1kg in a 2 months also.

Oh my goodness ladies your are all chatter box's

Jess yeah i put abbie in her high chair as well and she likes it but like you i do lay it back a little too. Abbie also leans forward when i sit her up, i just don't think that she is quite strong enough yet. Glad to hear all is well and i would not be able to live with out a pool now i feel sorry for you maybe a wading pool for xmas for the kids.

Bec i know what you mean its great they love the water, lachlan is not too keen on the pool but he is getting there. So i am glad that abbie loves the water. Glad to hear cameron is loving his food too.

Nana my health is getting there, i am taking me meds each day and i am due to get another blood test done at the end of november so then the doctor will increase my dose and so on till the dose gives me the correct amount of hormones in my body. I don't feel as tired as i was feeling but i am still not 100%. Thanks for asking :-)
And yeah i hate people touching the baby too but what annoys me even more is when they let there children hang in the pram in her face touching her kissing her ARGH i just want to scream!!!!!!!!!!! I am at the school picking up the children and i am fending little snot nosed kids off my poor baby. (not really that bad but it is really irritating me lately)

Sassy my work is going well i only have school children so its great i have the days to do stuff at home. How is your work going?

I am not taking abbie to swimming lessons we have a pool at home so they get heaps of practice at home. We took Cody when he was 3 but they were not doing anything different then we were doing so we stopped. Lachlan has just started wearing a swimming vest and those arm band floaties and now can kick his legs and will swim from the stairs to me about 3 metres away which is great. Cody can swim by himself now! So i think i can nearly take all 3 kids in the pool when i am home by my self!

Abbie ROLLS everywhere now. One minute she is on one side of the lounge room and i come back and she is nearly in the kitchen!!!! oh my its started already i was hoping the she would stay still for a bit longer!!!

I am on facebook too i will try and add you girls if you don't mind!!

Well i know i have missed some people to hi to everyone else and i am not being a snob abbie is just getting cranky and have run out of time sorry

    Take care be back soon

Hey Abb, sounds like we had the same night... argh! I think the top two teeth are coming. That, or he's just being a painful little so-and-so. We have needles in the first week of December, since I put his first ones off for a fortnight they're all a bit later for DS. BTW, DS seems to like the KinderCot so far. Hasn't had a long sleep in it yet, but he never sleeps that long anyway!

We're off to the paediatrician tomorrow, and even tho the referral was initially for reflux and that's not really an issue anymore, I decided to keep the appointment anyway. I have a few questions that I just dont trust to the GP (since he was pretty useless before) and I think I'll ask about the food quantities as well, since it seems to be on everyone's minds. A few of us were talking about that at playgroup the other day and everybody has been told something different so we're all a bit confused. I would really like to know why Aadi is always flapping his arms up and down whenever he's a bit agitated or bothered by something. It's like he can't control them, and if I hold them gently he kicks his legs instead. Makes cuddles a bit painful coz he smacks me in the face!
We also have MCH appointment next week, so no doubt they'll tell me something completely different again!

Jess, your facebook link takes me to my home page. Abb, yours goes to that cute pic of Hamish, and the option to add you as a friend. The hidden link in the ticker - if you click on the ticker it takes you to some website selling baby stuff. In your signature, where you paste in the code, there's a bit with [url]babygifts something or other.... Delete that, or anything outside the [img] bit. Sneaky, aren't they?
I think with the weight gain, all bubs seem to fluctuate a bit. I know DS got really big really suddenly, but seems to have slowed down now, and possibly even lost a bit of weight. Will find out for sure later. He's still got jelly-rolls tho!
BBL, DS is shredding a magazine!

LMK! you're back! haha, we posted at the same time. glad you're doing better, healthwise. slowly, slowly... yeh, I HATE other people letting their grotty kids kiss my child and get right in the pram practically. It's such bad manners, IMO! uptight, maybe, but I dont care.

    Hi All,

Wow, once again there has been a lot of posts, will do my best to do personals but not sure how much time I got, so a big to everyone I may not get to.

First I will start with an 'all about me/us'....

Well it's another rather hot and humid day today, there's definately another storm brewing. Wasn't sure how Cameron would go last night with the thunder/lightning storm we had, but thankfully he seemed to sleep right ok, even with the house shaking with the thunder rumbles. I wish I could've slept right through, still have trouble sleeping with this cough, and I tend to get a little nervy with the thunder and lightning, especially when its right outside my window.

Cameron probably slept well because of the exhausting day he had. First of all we (Cameron, Mum and I) popped into a childcare centre I am considering putting him next year. My cousin's son goes there, so we also had to say hello to him too. It's a nice and relaxed centre, so hopefully we can get into that one, though we only want Thursdays and Fridays for dropouts I think. After we left the centre, when I put Cameron into the car he really wanted to sit up (still backwards facing), the whole way to out lunch venue he sat up - eventually as pulling into the driveway of the venue his head dropped - he was asleep by the time I parked. Thankfully he continued to sleep when transferred to pram and slept while we ate. After this we went to the shops where he stayed awake, til we were on our way home, where he nodded off for about 20mins. He was wide awake once home (about 4pm), so decided to try him on avocado - he seemed to enjoy it. Then gave him a bf about 30mins after, and tried to put him to bed, but it was rather hot and humid (with the storm brewing), he just wouldn't sleep. DH came home just as I think Cameron was about to give in, but because I think he heard daddy, he started crying again. DH went in to try to settle him (it was just after 6 by now), and DH didn't do anything, just stood by his cot (not even a light on) and Cameron started laughing. So cheeky. He couldn't settle him either, so we kept him up for 20mins, but once again wouldn't settle after that, just cried. Ended up giving him a cool bath (as he was all hot and sweaty) and an ebm bottle and he easily slipped into bed. He woke at 4 this morning, where it took 3 times to resettle (pick up, rewrap bottom half and turn musical seahorse on), and he slept til 6.30ish (mum stayed the night, so helped look after him til he needed a feed at 7.30 where he came and gave me a kiss to wake up).

Jess - Sorry to tell you (unless it's just me then) but it appears your facebook link still goes to my own home page. With the weight gain, at first I thought it seemed a little low, as Cameon seems to put on about 1500gms every 2 months and he is on the smaller scale, but I have not much of an idea of how much they are suppose to put on now, as Abb mentioned about the weight not being as much now - I didn't know that. Is she following the same percentile? Maybe try to do some weigh ins monthly for a little to keep an eye on it and give peace of mind.

Abb - Sorry to hear you had a crap night. Hopefully it was just the immunisations. Is Hamish 6 months already? Cameron's not 6months til 29th, so will arrange needles the week after (as have heard they don't recommend the needles too early for some reason).

Deancey - Wow on the 3 jars of food, you must have a hungry little boy. Glad they were all well behaved when you were out to lunch. At our lunch yesterday we had some people comment on whether there was actually a baby in our pram (as I had a muslin wrap drapped over the front). I think it brings an extra proud feelin when people say that.

Sassy - How's the porta cot sleeping going? I tried to do this today, as it's soo hot in Cam's room, but he just wouldn't give. The portacot's in the lounge room, so might have to move it into his room for a few tries to adjust him to it. It is so much cooler in the lounge as I can turn the fans or air con on if need be. On Cam's unsettledness, I don't think its because of solids, as only done pumpkin on Sunday and Avocado yesterday. He seems to go through these fazes every now and then. I'm hoping it's just teething, even the childcare centre lady thought he looked like he was teething as he was chomping down on our fingers so much.

NaNa - It would be good to know what the paed thinks about the food quantities. I guess it probably comes down to what your child seems to want, and as they say mother knows best. How's Aadi been today, hopefully been more settled then yesterday and last night. It it is teeth hopefully they just hurry up and show, then give you's a break for a while.

Nikki - Good you can possibly go swimming with the 3 of the children now then, especially with the warm weather we are getting. On the swimming lessons, we have been going, it's been good to learn the basics (especially not having had any experience with children and water), but thinking of cutting the lessons down to fortnightly instead of weekly, as we also have a pool we could do that in for free and we now know how to get in safely and how to teach them to swim to the sides if fallen in.

MisTree - Hope eveything went your way in the custody thing. How long's he got to sign the papers?

I think I covered everyone. Looks like I had a little more time on my hand then expected. Camerons been asleep for over 2 hrs now, think I'll just let him continue to sleep, usually give him another feed by 1.30-2ish, but after yesterdays battle think sleep might be needed to keep a happy baby.

On the car seat question - we haven't changed it around yet. I thought they had to be 8kg first don't they? If that's the case we got another 6-8weeks I think, plus I would like his neck just a little more stronger (even though he has had a rather strong neck from when he was born), I'd rather wait a little longer just in case of an accident.

Well I think I can hear Cameron starting to stir.

    Bye for now,

So funny, Cameron stirred alright. Just went in, and here he is, 1 leg dangling out between the cot rail, over the top of the air wrap thing around his cot, playing with his little teddy bear. He is all smiles. Was able to get the video camera going to capture this funny moment.

NaNa & Nikki- Thanks for the FB add... Nice to put a face to the names now... Have been taking a peek of your beautiful photos while i'm doing some online stuff... WOW... how much have they grown up...

Nikki- Its nice she's trying to commando crawl but i know i'll have to start child proofing the house.... Its scarey... i see so many things and think... Arrrggg that has to go... wish i had the cash to buy some new furniture... soo many things low on the ground...

Bec- Glad to hear things are going well... Its nice to go into the childcare places to have a good sticky... Also i thought the weight gain was also not much but she has still stuck to the same line on the charts... the average one... so the woman said as long as she had doubled her birth weight by 6 months then its all good but just makes me nervous. We have a pead appointment for my DS so might get her check over by him or just ask... Also we've had weird wether here... Raining, humid, cold Stinking hot.... just cant pick it...

Not sure why its going to your home page as NaNa and Nikki havd used the link... are you listed in the Australian Network??? might have to open it up to everyone... I had it locked so i had to add you... should be ok now thou...

I finally got a booking with the speech therapist for DS... So next week we'll have our 1st session... fingers crossed he behaves so we have a proper assesment... Takes him a while to open up... really dredding it,....

Bec - Hamish is 6 months on 29th aswell, but for needles the mchn said its 8 weeks from 4 month ones, i was thinking it was too early also but i guess she would know.

NaNa i have decided to buy the kinderkot also, just looking around now for best price, probably need to look in melbourne as we are limited with shops here. We are in Melbourne for 5 days over next weekend so might check them out then.

Abb- I got mine online even tho there is a shop within 1km of me that sells them. I hate the guy that runs it... he's creepy, and that's not a good thing for a baby-goods shop! The kindercot website has suppliers, and a neat video demonstration of how to fold the ruddy thing up again! It's certainly a knack. Aadi's asleep in his again now. I'm in Melbourne, let me know if you need directions to the pram-friendly shoe shops!!

Jess - you dont waste time, do you?? It's amazing how much stuff you can cram into the few minutes a day you have to yourself, isn't it? Which reminds me, I have soooo much stuff to do but can't be bothered...

Aadi is starting to commando crawl too, but backwards!

Bec :OMG: are you trying to make up for lost time? You'll out-babble me and Jess! Glad things are going so well. Look out for them fangs, though!

but seriously, I have soooo much other stuff I need to be doing now! Naughty NaNa...
