Wow, once again there has been a lot of posts, will do my best to do personals but not sure how much time I got, so a big to everyone I may not get to.
First I will start with an 'all about me/us'....
Well it's another rather hot and humid day today, there's definately another storm brewing. Wasn't sure how Cameron would go last night with the thunder/lightning storm we had, but thankfully he seemed to sleep right ok, even with the house shaking with the thunder rumbles. I wish I could've slept right through, still have trouble sleeping with this cough, and I tend to get a little nervy with the thunder and lightning, especially when its right outside my window.
Cameron probably slept well because of the exhausting day he had. First of all we (Cameron, Mum and I) popped into a childcare centre I am considering putting him next year. My cousin's son goes there, so we also had to say hello to him too. It's a nice and relaxed centre, so hopefully we can get into that one, though we only want Thursdays and Fridays for dropouts I think. After we left the centre, when I put Cameron into the car he really wanted to sit up (still backwards facing), the whole way to out lunch venue he sat up - eventually as pulling into the driveway of the venue his head dropped - he was asleep by the time I parked. Thankfully he continued to sleep when transferred to pram and slept while we ate. After this we went to the shops where he stayed awake, til we were on our way home, where he nodded off for about 20mins. He was wide awake once home (about 4pm), so decided to try him on avocado - he seemed to enjoy it. Then gave him a bf about 30mins after, and tried to put him to bed, but it was rather hot and humid (with the storm brewing), he just wouldn't sleep. DH came home just as I think Cameron was about to give in, but because I think he heard daddy, he started crying again. DH went in to try to settle him (it was just after 6 by now), and DH didn't do anything, just stood by his cot (not even a light on) and Cameron started laughing. So cheeky. He couldn't settle him either, so we kept him up for 20mins, but once again wouldn't settle after that, just cried. Ended up giving him a cool bath (as he was all hot and sweaty) and an ebm bottle and he easily slipped into bed. He woke at 4 this morning, where it took 3 times to resettle (pick up, rewrap bottom half and turn musical seahorse on), and he slept til 6.30ish (mum stayed the night, so helped look after him til he needed a feed at 7.30 where he came and gave me a kiss to wake up).
Jess - Sorry to tell you (unless it's just me then) but it appears your facebook link still goes to my own home page. With the weight gain, at first I thought it seemed a little low, as Cameon seems to put on about 1500gms every 2 months and he is on the smaller scale, but I have not much of an idea of how much they are suppose to put on now, as Abb mentioned about the weight not being as much now - I didn't know that. Is she following the same percentile? Maybe try to do some weigh ins monthly for a little to keep an eye on it and give peace of mind.
Abb - Sorry to hear you had a crap night. Hopefully it was just the immunisations. Is Hamish 6 months already? Cameron's not 6months til 29th, so will arrange needles the week after (as have heard they don't recommend the needles too early for some reason).
Deancey - Wow on the 3 jars of food, you must have a hungry little boy. Glad they were all well behaved when you were out to lunch. At our lunch yesterday we had some people comment on whether there was actually a baby in our pram (as I had a muslin wrap drapped over the front). I think it brings an extra proud feelin when people say that.
Sassy - How's the porta cot sleeping going? I tried to do this today, as it's soo hot in Cam's room, but he just wouldn't give. The portacot's in the lounge room, so might have to move it into his room for a few tries to adjust him to it. It is so much cooler in the lounge as I can turn the fans or air con on if need be. On Cam's unsettledness, I don't think its because of solids, as only done pumpkin on Sunday and Avocado yesterday. He seems to go through these fazes every now and then. I'm hoping it's just teething, even the childcare centre lady thought he looked like he was teething as he was chomping down on our fingers so much.
NaNa - It would be good to know what the paed thinks about the food quantities. I guess it probably comes down to what your child seems to want, and as they say mother knows best. How's Aadi been today, hopefully been more settled then yesterday and last night. It it is teeth hopefully they just hurry up and show, then give you's a break for a while.
Nikki - Good you can possibly go swimming with the 3 of the children now then, especially with the warm weather we are getting. On the swimming lessons, we have been going, it's been good to learn the basics (especially not having had any experience with children and water), but thinking of cutting the lessons down to fortnightly instead of weekly, as we also have a pool we could do that in for free and we now know how to get in safely and how to teach them to swim to the sides if fallen in.
MisTree - Hope eveything went your way in the custody thing. How long's he got to sign the papers?
I think I covered everyone. Looks like I had a little more time on my hand then expected. Camerons been asleep for over 2 hrs now, think I'll just let him continue to sleep, usually give him another feed by 1.30-2ish, but after yesterdays battle think sleep might be needed to keep a happy baby.
On the car seat question - we haven't changed it around yet. I thought they had to be 8kg first don't they? If that's the case we got another 6-8weeks I think, plus I would like his neck just a little more stronger (even though he has had a rather strong neck from when he was born), I'd rather wait a little longer just in case of an accident.
