Beck- glad to hear everything went well with your op. I know the pain you must be in I had my gall bladder removed when I was 11 but via open surgery not keyhole. Lucky you have your dh around to help for a bit.

Klee- Sorry to hear Jo isnt going to well. Im sure he is not unhappy when he is with you there is obviously something that is making him not feel right. Have you taken him to your CHN? They are normally really good with issues like yours becasue he should be sleeping for longer periods then that at night. Hope things improve for you soon.

We went out last night and had a late night while Amelie was with Nana. We are so regretting it today after not being able to sleep in or just lay on the couch all day dont think we will be doing it again in a hurry. But it was fun to get out with friends again.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

sorry to have freaked out on everyone, it was the end of a very long week and jo hadn't seen his dad for a few days, dp has been working veyr long hours, but now that jo's got to spend some time with his dad he seems a lot happier, think it may have been a combination of that and teething. so sorry for freaking out again and for scaring anyone off. I know this is not the appropriate forum for some of my other issues, so i'll try not to bring that in here anymore. take care, hope all bubs are well.

Klee - don't be silly. Anything you need to get off your chest - here's the place to do it. We're all here for on another and we all have our various issues so please don't feel that you can't vent when you need to. I'm glad Jo seems a bit happier and more settled. I can understand how it must be a double edged sword that Jo is starting to look a bit like his sister. It is lovely though that you can see some of her in him - not that you would ever need a reminder. I really feel that the soul of my 3rd lost angel (the first with DH) is in DD#1. Might be a bit freaky to some but that's how I feel and it gives me a little peace.

And FWIW, try to ignore anyone who says that he should be sleeping through. DD#1 slept through from about 4 months and I know from all my girlfriends that I was incredibly lucky and that she was very much a rarety. These little bubs are going through so much development at the moment so don't stress that he's not sleeping longer. He'll get there in his own good time.

oh klee honey, please don't feel you can't say what you want to say in here. You are doing nothing wrong by opening up to us. And if it's too hard on some people, well they just don't have to read it.
I'm so glad to hear that he just needed his daddy fix, and he's back to his happy little self again. Nina was exactly the same. Very much a daddy's girl.

I'll bbl to finish, Nina is annoying Emily, when Emily is supposed to be sleeping!

klee don't be sorry, this is the place to come for a shoulder to lean on when you need to! I'm glad to hear that Jo is happier now and I know he wasn't upset because of you. He loves his mummy very much!

Beck - glad to hear the operation went well. I hope you have speedy recovery.

Lulu - how's Elena going on the food now? So far Josh has had rice cereal, butternut pumpkin, sweet potato and today tried normal potato. So far, so good and I'm counting myself lucky this aspect of feeding is going well unlike the BF.

Josh has caught my cold poor little bubba is all blocked up and snuffly and has a loose cough. He's a little trooper though and hasn't been grumpy about it at all. I've been keeping a close eye on him as I'm paranoid he'll have trouble breathing or something.

Gotta run, he's just woken up, lunch time!

ETA: Just took Joshua to the doctors and he apparently has a mild case of croup. Have to keep an eye on him and we are going back Wednesday morning for another check.

laranna - how is josh? can they do anything for croup, i hope the little spunk is feeling better, please let us know how he is.
blanche - hope emelia had a wonderful birthday.
bec - hope you've recovered well.
lulu - thanks for your advice, i wasn't aware of your angels, I'm so sorry.
jodi - nina still annoying emily? is emily moving around everywhere now?
kristale - no need to apologise it was nothing you nor any of the other girls said, it was a realisation i made on my own.

thanks ladies for all your support, looking back on last week I think it may have been a developmental stage on top of missing his dad, which had him unsettled, as he's a lot happier this week and has decided he can roll and move everywhere, if he sees something he wants he rolls and gets it, he's also determined to get crawling as he's doing a lot more pushing on his feet, he just needs to co-ordinate both arms and legs to get up. we have also organised to get his hearing checked as I notice he doesn't babble all too much, nor does he react much to his name (not sure if thats got to do with the fact that everyone calls him something different), the mhcn wasn't too concerned but she is sending us just in case, he also got weighed today, didn't put much on in last two months but is 8kg, woohoo now he can go forwards in the car. sorry to bore everyone. how are all your bubs going?

Klee - glad to hear things are better this week. Sounds like Jo will be moving around before you know it!
Joshua is getting better. We've been at the docs 3 times this week, she just wanted to keep checking him out just to be sure (she's a new GP and I've found her to be terrific so far, doesn't brush you off, is truly interested). We went this morning and she was happy that he is now over the worst of it. On Wednesday, she was saying it was mild bronchiolitis.

The nights are the worst, he was waking again as his nose is all blocked and I was up for an hour and a half at a time trying to resettle him. Last night was the first night he slept through as normal, although he was snorting is head off trying to breathe through a blocked nose so I still didn't get much sleep!

Sooo tired and we have a busy weekend, an engagement party tonight, my family do tomorrow, friends 30th tomorrow night and inlaws Sunday arvo..phew, makes me exhausted just thinking about it.

I took Josh to the physio on Monday and she was happy with everything and thinks that he probably took longer than normal to lift his head and push up because he was underweight for awhile there, but now he has caught up and is back on track. Even though he has been sick this week, he has started to roll from back to tummy heaps! Then gets frustrated because he can't roll back...hehe,won't be long now I'm guessing!

I hope everyone is well and have a brilliant weekend girls!

DD isnt liking him crawling that much as she doesnt like him touching her new toys!!!

Laranna - hope Joshua is better now, and WTG Josh on rolling!!!

Hi there everyone. It has been very quiet in here.

Blanche - yay for a good birthday for your DD. Great news that Jack is crawling. I know what you mean about big sister getting annoyed. Izzy normally loves Ellie crawling around after her, but lately she's really spat it while she's been building towers with her blocks - Ellie comes up and knocks them down and Iz is NOT happy!

Laranna - how's Josh going? Getting a lot better by now I hope.

We've put our Christmas tree up now and the girls are shrieking with delight every time they see it. We've had to put it in the theatre room (where DH and I go at night when the girls are in bed) so they "visit' it during the day. Its a shame they're so rough with it because they really do love looking at it and stroking the branches. Elena is standing on her own for a couple of seconds at a time now and is taking one or two steps. She is going so fast. I want her to slow down but she seems so determined! Otherwise, we're still not progressing with solids. She has improved in that at least she is taking things into her mouth now but she is gagging on everything so I'm leaving her for another few days before trying again. Funny to think that Izzy was eating so much by this point! Just goes to show how different they all are.

Anyway, better go and get Izzy's dinner organised.

    I'm here

blanche - WTG Jack on crawling!!

laranna - so sorry to hear Josh has had croup, poor thing. Hopefully it won't hang around much longer.

lulu - Nina didn't start solids till 7.5 months, and Emily started at 5 months! Just keep offering it every now and then, when she's ready she'll start.

klee - great to hear Joey is better this week. And a little woohoo on reaching 8kg!

As for us, well I don't think it'll be long until Emily is off and running (well crawling, lol). She can get up on hands and knees, and hands and feet. She's so interested in what Nina is doing, and just wants to run after her.
Nina keeps sharing her food with her The other day Nina had a happy meal from maccas, and was sharing the chips with Emily! At least she's sharing
The fights have already started between the girls with the toys. Emily is only allowed the ones that Nina doesn't want, but Emily wants the ones that Nina wants!
I'm supposed to be taking her to get her needles this Friday, but I doubled book, and supposed to be getting my hair done (which of course is much more important than needles, lol). So it'll probably end up being next week. I'm interested in knowing what Emily weighs, as she's in size 0 clothing now. She's a chubba bubba alright.

Blanche & Lulu - OMG at the crawling and walking! wow! that happened quick. I am sure now you'll be getting extra exercise chasing after your bubs.

Jodi - I'd keep the hair appt too! hehe

We put our chrissy tree up too on the weekend. Josh loves to stare at it. Luckily he can not get to it yet because I still have really "nice" delicate decorations. Next year it will be different with lots of mish mash colours and tinsel...lol

Josh loves being on his tummy all the time now. I put him down and he rolls straight over. He's feeling alot better now although still a little snuffly. But he's got his energy back. He rolls over in his cot during his day sleeps and keeps waking himself up, so he's awake a lot longer during the day but is seeming to manage to have a biggish 2 hour sleep at some point. In the mornings when he wakes up he rolls over onto his tummy and oohs, aahs, squeals which wakes us up! It's funny and cute. I'm beginning to think it is time to move his cot into the nursery (he's in our bedroom atm).

Josh has also tried some new foods. Tried potato last week but as he was sick, he wasn't too keen on it. Tried a piece of banana the last couple of days which he mushed up in his fingers then I had to finger feed it to him. Tried avocado this morning and he didn't like it at all! First thing he hasn't really liked. Will try red apple next I think.

    Hi everyone,
Boy it has been quiet in here. Haven't had time to get on here for the last week or so but seems I onyl missed a couple of posts so Im all caught up now.

Wow I can't believe how many of the busb are already crawling- where has the time gone ?? Macey is still a while off crawling I think. She only just started going backwards today when on her belly, although I'm sure once she works out that she'll be able to start chasin around Harry she'll get moving pretty quickly.

Solids are going great- not a fussy eater at all which is even better- still a little on the clogged up side though with her no 2's. I've cut out all farax now and just add a tsp of rolled oats if I need to thicken up her vegies or fruit.

I've also cut our the last rollover feed (10pm-ish) last week and most nights shes been going fine without it. Shes had the occasional night where she'll wake and be unsettled round 1-2am but I think its more to do with poo-pains so donlt know what elese I can do there to help. She has kiwi fruit with her lunch and spinich with her tea every tea -both are supposed to help to soften things and she'll also drink the occasional bit of water s donlt know what else I can do to help her.

Alos no signs of teeth yet which after going thru Harry's early teething dramas, Ilm happy for it to hold off as long as it wants. Maybe Santa will bring her a toothy??

ok need to run and get some shut eye. Got a big day on tomorrow for the inlaw xmas and stayin with them tomorrow night which is always fun (not!) when your trying to get & keep 2 littlies asleep in the same room as us so you dolt wake up the rest of the house.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends :-)

Wow, it is quiet in here! How is everyone going? What are we all up to?

Beck - how did the stay with the inlaws go?

Lulu - how are the girls going? Getting along any better? With only my first bub, I have no idea how to help so here is a

Jodi, Blanche, Kristale, Klee - hi to you all, how are the bubbas going?

Joshua is way over his cold now. He's rolling heaps and manages to shuffle backwards but still a way off crawling anywhere yet. Had his Santa photo done last week. Not much else happening, still enjoying the solids. I'm back into pilates and trying to do some big walks every day. Need to lose 5kg at least, 10 would be ideal, but 5 will get me back to pre-preg weight.

Hi to everyone I've missed. I'm off to bed now...!

Hi everyone. It has been very quiet - I hope everyone is just caught up in Christmas rush rather than any problems.

Laranna - that's great that Josh is over his cold. Yay for getting back into exercise. I would kill to be able to get back doing something. I tried swimming the other day but then had a crappy night with Ellie and when faced with the choice of getting out of bed at 6.30 am to go swimming or getting another hour or so's sleep really wasn't too difficult to work out!

Beckstar - great news that Macey is doing so well on solids and sleeping really well for you. Makes such a difference when you can get real blocks of uninterrupted sleep.

Jodi - OMG I hear you on the sharing (or not!) toys thing. Ellie always wants whatever it is that Izzy is playing with. Most of the time Iz will happily share but every now and then she gets really frustrated with not being left alone - especially if she's building with blocks or something and El comes and knocks it all over.

El is still not interested in solids. I've been trying different things every couple of days or so with no real luck yet. Still not concerned - she'll get there eventually, but I can't help but think that the sooner she starts, the sooner I'll only be cooking one evening meal, making one lunch etc.

lulu - I had both girls fighting over a toy yesterday. Emily insisted that she wanted what Nina had. And Nina kept saying 'miiiiiiiine!' and Emily kept insisting. I had no option but to sit there and laugh at them
She'll eat when she's ready. Nina was about 7.5 months old when she started solids.

laranna - good for you getting back into exercise. I'm at my pre-pregnacy weight, but I have another 10kg until I'll be happy. I go to the gym 3 days a week and have just started water aerobics, first night was tonight. I was hoping to have lost the weight by xmas, but it didn't happen. So my next goal is to lose the weight before May, which is when I'm heading down to Melbourne for a bb meet up.

Emily is certainly moving around a lot. She will roll, and roll, and roll forever, all around the lounge room. It's very cute. Nina has been trying to 'teach' her to crawl, by crawling around saying 'c mon Am-a-lee, crawl wit me' (that's how she pronounces her name). Emily just laughs at her and rolls around some more.

beck - I'm with you, I'm more than happy for no teeth to appear any time soon. Emily did have a teeth cut through, but it's gone back up again. Nina didn't start teething till 8 months, but then by 15 months she had all of them except her 2 yr molars. But she wasn't a bad teether, so hopefully Emily isn't either.

Wow. Its been quiet in here.

Elena is standing completely unassisted for a few seconds at a time now, furniture walking with ease and pulling herself up on the sofa. She is just so incredibly advanced. I really hope she slows down but I have my doubts it will happen - she's in such a rush to keep up with her big sister. She is also babbling a lot more than Izzy did at this age so I'm wondering if she'll talk earlier too. Just what I need!! Finally making headway with solids although she is very choosey.

Hope everyone is well, Christmas shopping is almost finished and relaxation can soon start.
