Hi girls,
Been MIA a bit in here lately. I've got a cousin from Adelaide staying with us at the moment. Her and her b/f moved up here and needed somewhere to stay until they got jobs and a place to live. So i have been helping them out with job searching etc etc.
If i get a chance later on i will pop back on and do personals.
Not much report at the moment. We are all good.
Hope you are all well.
-
shazz - Hope you didn't have to use the whip too often today!
sara - hope you are enjoying the extra company and not getting stressed by a house full of people.
Archie just flaked it in a matter of seconds, usually takes him at least 45 mins to get to sleep, i think the last few days of less than normal sleep have caught up with him. He came up to me tonight and whispered "i u ooo" in my ear, how cute is that!!
We have my family reunion the first weekend in November and the thoght of it scares the heck out of me. i am really excited to see family members i haven't seen in probably 10 years, but it is a 4+ hours drive there and we are staying in a dorm room, i think not being able to see where we are staying freaks me out cause i dont fully know what to expect, i like to plan for any event that could possibly happen. We are gonna hopefully buy a portable DVD player for the journey cause Arch drove us mental on the weekend in the car on a 3 hour trip. Gosh i am such a control freak aren't i?! I am just praying that Archie will sleep okay there, 99% sure he wont though, maybe all the other littlies will wear him out enough to sleep okay though.....
-
Gee he must have been tired Elissa.
You are not a control freak, just a women I say! Did Archie sleep much in the car the other day, we got 15mins out of Lachlan on the way and 30mins on the way home. Why don't they sleep in the car anymore. I use to get atleast an hour out of him in that 3.25hour trip. Definitely getting a dvd player I reackon. We are getting the two screen one, so that I have a 2nd screen for the next baby.
What do you think he was saying in your ear? How cute.
Lachlan would not eat at all 2nite, I got so mad at him, as he is going thru this stage where he will forcefully hold my hand back and shake his head furiously like it is going to fall off! Wade saw how bad he was, but I was a mean mum and said you don't get desert then! I just feel like we give in to him way too often, but Wade still wanted too, but I had my grumpy pants on and said NO! Anyway he was whinging from then on in and was crying even in the bath and that is not like him. He was shivering in the bath and that doesn't happen either. Wade brought him to me and he was really sooky. Just hugged me and hugged me, and he never does that epecially when I am sitting on the lounge, he just wants to normally go and play. If i ever get hugs it is always when I am standing up, never when I sit down and he just hugged me for a good 5-10mins. We gave him some panadol and nurofen and some teething tablets and he was a bit better. He hasn't been sleeping in the afternoons, he goes in there and drinks his water bottle, but I am 99% sure he doesn't sleep, so maybe he is tired or maybe it is just teeth. I know he has had huge lumps in his mouth around the spot of the molars I think, so maybe that is it........ Guess we will see what sort of a night we have now huh.
-
Hi gals.
Just popping in quickly before I hit the hay. I have been reading all of your posts, boy you know how to chat ladies! Wish I had more time to get on here ...
We've all been pretty well this last week (touch wood). Three out of four of Katy's molars have cracked through in the last few weeks, so that explains ALOT regarding her moods etc. We had a monster pooh tonight (TMI I know!!), and she's finally settled after being naughty all night. What a night!
Thinking of you all and sending you all big :hugs: and more :hugs:
Nite :bedtime:

good to hear from you leanne
forgot to say i got my hair done today i feel kinda glam i have to go back in the mornign to have my eyelashes tinted i have never had this done before so i'm kinda nervous
-
Hi leanne - must be molar time for all our kiddies huh.
Wow shazz - whahoo..... you must feel really nice, nothing better!
-
Shazz- eyelash tint is great!!! It doesn't hurt unless they stuff up and then it just stings a little but it looks so great you'll wish you'd done it earlier.
-
lol now i want my nails done oh and lets see what else hmmmmm i love being pampered
-
Sheree - thanks i feel heaps better now that you told me im a 'normal' woman! He was whispering "i love you" in my ear, i do it to him sometimes right up against his ear so that it tickles. You'll probably hate me for telling you but Arch will sleep between 1-1.5 hours on a 3 hour trip and i still go crazy. DVD player is the way to go i reckon! I think you night be on the money thinking that it is teething that is causing Lachlans stresses atm, Archie woke up at 6am again this morninga nd crid and sooked til 8am, he wanted to eat his taost but everytime he took a bite he would cry, i gave him some Nurofena nd that seemed to do the job, he has just gone back to bed, hopefully for a long time! How many teeth does Lachlan have so far? Archie only has the first 8 teeth at the front, no molars or eye teeth, i think i have a lot of sleepless nights coming my way!
leanne - poor katy, no wonder she wasnt in the best of moods! I reckon Archie wont be far behind her.
shazz - wooho on the hair, doens't it feel great, i am getting mine done this afternoon and have been excited about it all week, a whole 45mins to be waited on with no child to worry about, heaven! GL with the eyelash tining i haven't had it done either. I was thinking last night a manicure would be great, i've never had one but i reckon it would be nice!

Morning girls,
Thought i would try and pop in early and post before Briley woke up.
Elissa - Yeah its been ok having ppl here. A little stressful when the babies are both crying and their are people everywhere though. I just disappear into my room at these times. The best thing is that they are both Apprentice Chefs and have been cooking yummy dinners! We had roast lamb with vegies lastnight and tonight we are having chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese tonight!! Yummo!
How cute of Arch saying "I u ooo!!" Clever little man. And no you are'nt a contol freak! I am exactly the same. You do need to be prepared for things like that. When mum and family looked after the girls a couple of weekends ago, they watched them at mums house. Well i had everything but the kitchen sink packed. I even sent Colby's basinette in!! I just want them to be as comfortable as possible.
Nat - Packing already?!?!?! WOW you don't muck around. I suppose you can't with kids hey. When do you move in there?? Or did i miss something you already have!?!?! I went and had a quick look at the link for the place. It looks really nice.
Shazz - That is totally crap about what happened with your son! Seems to me as though they were trying to humilate him. As teachers let alone adults, you'd think they would know better would'nt you! I would've been going off my head at them if it was me. Even considering changing schools! But thats me too. We had a spring clean here yesterday. I moved the computer and that out of the spare room so that my cousin had more room. And so that whenever i need the computer i don't have to sit in their room/space IYKWIM. Arrissa (my cousin) even vacumned the house for me!! Good to see you giving yourself a bit of YOU time!
Leanne - I hear you on the molars!!! We have cut 1 of them. So only 3 to go! We had a terrible night with Briley lastnight. She woke up screaming about 3 times. We had to put her in our bed in the end. And then all morning today she has been chucking massive tantrums out of irritation i think. I gave her some panadol and she seemed to settle down a bit. She has also been sleeping heaps lately too which i think is related to the molars. Glad to hear you are all feeling a bit better this week.
Sheree - Briley does that same thing when she is'nt hungry! She pushes the spoon away or takes it and throws it!! It makes me angry too sometimes. I have learnt too just take her out of the high chair and she will tell me later if she is hungyr again. I sometimes wonder if she is getting what she needs but she does'nt look under nourished! The CHN told me that they might eat one day and not eat properly for the next 2 and prefering just to pick. That made me feel a bit better cause Briley tends too do this a lot.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all well
No that i have taken so long to type this, littlest miss is awake. She has been asleep since about 8.30am thismorning! She is sleeping very well at nights now. She sleeps from 8.30pm to 7ish most nights. She slept from 10ish to 8.15am the night before last!! So she is sleeping on average 11 hours a night.
Ok better go...she is hungry!!
BBL to finish of personals!!
-
Sara woohoo on having a good sleeper it makes all the difference
-
Lachlan is never been good with teeth, can quite often get high temps with them. We think that is what is was last night, although I feel ordinary and have a horrible taste in my mouth and I can smell sickness in the air. IYKWIM.
Anyway he woke 4 times till midnight. That is normally my bed time as always stay up doing paperwork for the newsagency.
At midnight I was nursing him, and felt his body and you could feel he had a temp. Gave him some more panadol. I didn't want to put him to bed as I have read way too many stories of putting babies to bed with temps and they don't wake up.
So put him in our bed, and he wouldn't go to sleep till 4am this morning, everytime we tried to put him back to his own bed he would scream, but then in our bed he was a wriggeling girty (this kid just can't sit still).
So seeing as Wade had gone to bed before midnight, he took him into the other room and went to bed with him. He then woke at 6.30am this morning with Wade, but Wade said his temp was fine.
I woke at 9.30am this morning and went and got Lachlan, and his temp had flaired up again. He hates cold washers, but I just had to do it, to bring his temp down as he has had a convulsion before from a high temp. He was all cuddles with me on the lounge for ages this morning, but more panadol and more nurofen and he has come good.
After his sleep when he woke at 1pm he felt hot again, so again some panadol, and he is all good now.
Gosh that panadol is such good stuff for temps, he is prancing around the house like nothing is wrong.
We rarely suffer with his teeth or any illness for that matter during the day, but nights we suffer so badly..........
Teeth are such cruel things.
Thanks for reading, mammoth post I know!!!!!!!
-
Ohhh and I am so exhausted today, not done an ounce of paperwork or housework. I give myself and hour in the morning of things I always want to get done and haven't done then, not even made my bed OOOPS!!!!!
-
Ok back to finish off personals!
Tania - Congrats on your SIL and new nephew! How petty that your other SIL's be jelous! They should be just happy that their sister made it all the way with a beautiful healthy baby boy. Good news about your friends baby too! Hopefully he makes a full recovery. I hope you got to move into your new house on friday!!!
Sheree - Ohh poor Lachie! You sound as though you had a similar night to me. Hope he is feeling better. Briley had a terrible temp the other night too. Then the next day i found a molar so his might be related to that too.
I think that was everyone was'nt it?!?!? Sorry if i forgot anyone. I got so far behind there was so much to catch up on!!
Well we had a terrible night last night. Briley woke up 3 times then ended up in our bed. Today she has been crying and chucking massive tantrums. I can tell from her tantrum that its because her gums are giving her greif. I think this is the worst i have seen her from the teething. I have heard that the molars are the worst to cut though.
Briley's newest word is medicine!!! When she had tonsilitis she had to have to banana tasting antibiotics and she liked it. So now whenever i say want some medicine (panadol) she gets excited and starts saying "medicine!!". Then we i give her the panadol she spits it out with disgust!
We also have a date set for Briley eye operation. It will be on the 23'rd of this month. I was calling them to try and get it earlier as her eye has been stuck together everymorning and is really puffy and watery. The sooner we get it unblocked the better!
Colby is going very well. As i mentioned in my last post she is sleeping around 11 hours a night. Mostly is from 8.30pm to 7ish. Good for me sleep wise but i think my milk production my be getting affected from it. I have been trying to drink enough water during the day too keep it up but i just don't feel like it.
She is a real mumma's girl thats for sure. I have left her twice with Brent and his mum and both times she played up for them. But as soon as i get home and take her she is quiet as a mouse! Cheeky thing.
Colby has been asleep most of the day today but has been awake for most of the days lately. She might be having another growth spurt at the moment, not too sure. She is also a definete water baby. I give her a morning bath in the baby bath and then a bath or a shower with me or Briley in the evenings. Yesterday morning she was kicking and splashing that much water was going everywhere!! I was soaked! So she has obviously become really comfortable with the water.
I am thinking about putting Briley and Colby in the same room soon. Before i was worried that Colby would'nt sleep through until around 3 months and therefore wake Briley during the nights! I kinda jumped to conclusions there! But at the moment Briley is cutting her molars and is REALLY grizzly. She woke up 3 times lastnight and ended up in our bed! So it won't be until she cuts the rest of her molars i think.
Those with 2 or more children....When did you put them in a room together???
Well i think thats it. We are off to get Colby's needles tomorrow. I am also getting my right ear tested for hearing too.
Well i hope you are all well....
-
Yay on the appt for Briley - Sara - atleast you can get it done once and for all.
Gosh Colby is a good sleeper, and not that i am any expert by any means but I think with her not drinking at night, you boobs will just regulate for that, so if she feeds at certain times through the day then you will have enuf for that. I guess it is a long time 11 hours hey, but I am sure your boobs would just get use to it eventually, just maybe for now you are leaking big time in the morning huh???
Oh and Elissa, sorry I forgot to reply to you earlier. This will be no.10 tooth for Lachlan, he has 2 bottom front, 1 bottom left beside in between the eye tooth and molar, 4 teeth at the top front and top left and right and again in between the eye and molar teeth. Lately both the 1st molars bottom left and right have been so so swollen.
GOSH I AM GONNA SAY IT AGAIN - I HATE THESE TEETH. Hope you have a better night 2nite Sara, I am not soooo hopeful!
-
sara - yummo at the dinners you have been having! i cant believe Colby is such a good sleeper, well done! What a clever girl to say "medicine", i hope she sleeps okay tonight, these molars are knocking us all around! Are you psyching yourself up for the 23rd? Briley will be so much more comfortable after the procedure im sure, how are you feeling about it this time, i remember you were not feeling great about it last time, but i think you were still pregnant then, that wouldn't help with the emotions! i actually felt a tiny bit clucky when you were saying about Colby loving the bath, she sounds like such a cutie. Hope the needles don't affect Colby too much, GL with the hearing test too.
sheree - poor lachlan (and you and wade!) what a shocker of a night, it must be scarey seeing him have a temp after having seen him have convulsions before, thanks goodness for panadol and nurofen! i hope he catches up on some sleep tonight. i reckon Archies bottom eye tooth is the one that is giving him grief atm, he has ben great tonight though and is sound asleep, lets hop he stays that way til 9am....
Had my hairdresser appointment this afternoon, bit disappointed actually, my usual hairdresser was away so i had a new girl (who was really lovely) but becuase it wasn't what i expected i started feeling abit anxious and couldn't think straight, so she ended up doing what i didn't want her to do, bummer, no biggy though, nothing a few months growth wont fix, then she blowdried it really dodgy, its all wirey and fluffy, yuck, never mind its only hair.
i think a couple of hours apart this afternoon is just what Archie and i needed when i got home tonight we were the best of friends hugging and kissing all night, aaawwwwww. He talks in his sleep quite a lot just like his dad, it is really funny, wish i could understand what he is saying. the other night when i had to share a room with him he screamed twice then talked in a whingey voice, and tonight when i moved him and covered him up when he was asleep he had a bit of a convo with himself while he searched for his dummy with his eyes closed, funny boy.

Okay we have a dilemma. We have a biter. For the past two weeks at CC Katy's been biting kids. I feel so bad. I think it might be from her teeth - I mean I wonder how we would feel four big teeth in so many weeks.... DH picked her up today and apparently there will be a copy of the biting policy in her tray for me in the morning. Should I be worried??. It's not like we tolerate it here at home. Could she have learnt it from CC. Does this mean my daughter is a bully? I am trying so hard to raise her nice and sweet and kind ( :( ) I am such a paranoid mumma aren't I?
What do you do? Do you ignore it, smack her for it, bite her back..... ohhhhh I am so confused.
-
Oh Leanne - how can a 17mth old girl know between being a bully or not! I mean yes you can try to enforce for her not to bite and at Child Care they are part of that as they are their carer, there is no reason for you to feel guilty, it is probably just a phase and not at all your fault. Not sure how you enforce it though, maybe someone else has a better idea, I pretty much wing it with Lachlan most of the time, because I think he is different as all kids are and react to different situations differently. I only have to say don't when he opens his mouth on me and he doesn't, but a few months ago he probably would have clamped down on me, but again not realising what they are doing. I wish you luck for it, but don't let the childcare centre make you feel guilty for it ok.
Elissa - Well we have no eye teeth yet, so I am unsure what is worse at this stage. These molars are just horrible though at the minute though. Whahooo on the hairdoo.... bugger it wasn't as you expected though, hopefully it will wash out nicely for you though. Too cute on the cuddles, I reackon Lachlan is the same, lots of cuddles and kisses when he hasn't seen me for a while. Gosh talks in his sleep hey, Lachlan would wake himself up, he is such a light sleeper! I went into his room last night to clean up, ever so quietly and I set off one of his books, OMG, he woke up!!!
