No not for my birthday. I think it was a 'opps I forgot our anniv last week' present.
Leanne- I have been thinking of getting a wii fit, they sound great. AND thankyou now I have the damn homeworld song in my head LOL I love Ikea too but can't afford it atm!
Riley is still passionate about his dummy, I know he shouldn't have it so much but what the heck it makes him happy! He is addicted to cups of milk in the night too so I have been offering him water instead which he is not too impressed with but I am sick of him having 2 cups of mik during the night. His sleep is still pretty cr@p but we have been putting him to bed in hiw cot and just sitting in the rocking chair in his room until he falls asleep, its taking an hour but at least he is in his cot not our bed. He still wakes up during the night and coms in with us but some nights its not til 4am which is good, others have been 11.30 which is NOT good.
Tania- so glad the BF is going so well, you should be proud of yourself for putting in the effort to make it work (You too Sheree)
We are going to the Hunter Valley tonight for my cousin's son's 21st, its at my uncle's winery (wish I drank wine LOL) An old flame will be there who I haven't seen for more than 20yrs I wish I was thinner and younger!!! My only hope is that he's aged worse than me LOL
Better go DH has just rung and said to bring Riley in to work to see all the postie bikes.
wow, so many posts to catch up on! I'll tyr my best..
Tania - YAY on your last LC appointment you have done such an amazing job. Hope Jayden's sleeping improves for you.
kim - great to hear from you, so happy that you are finally feeling pregnant and that it is actually real, bummer about the retching and SPD though. Hope Darcy's finger is ok.
christine - sounds like you are having a rough time with Riley's sleeping still, i really do feel for you. Hope your old flame is fat, bald and ugly LOL
shazz - hi there, how did your last 2 exams go?
We had an absolute ball at the wedding!! Our trrip up in the car took forever though and Archie cried for the last 3 hours, he was an angel on the way home this arvo though. Archie stole the show at the wedding last night, all the guests were raving about how gorgeous he was, i felt a bit bad cause there were 2 other kids the same age who got less attention. At one stage i found Archie sitting by himself surounded with chocolate wrappers and empty bonbonieries(sp), so quite a few people missed out he he. ALso i walked out to the dance floor loking for him while tea was on and there he was with the microphone singing over and over "i love mum i love mum" very cute!
Am on CD38 now.........
Old flame still looks the same! It was weird, felt like a 15 yr old for a few minutes when I first saw him but matured after that LOL
Hi all
hope you all had great weekends exams went well ( well as far as i know anyway) i did get results back for one 15/out of 20 i was pretty stoked about that seen as i got the highest of all the people i study with i am trying desparetly to finish my essay on holistic patient care and doucumentation ( sounds thrilling doesn't it ) so i may be MIA till i get it done so take care everyone and i'll talk to you soon
oh P.s Ryan still has a bottle for bed and a dummy which he has if he is feeling fragile and i don't care how long he has it he will give it up when he is ready lol gosh that sounds really lazy of me doesn't it anyway back to reading if you see me here seriously kick my butt back to the books i'm so easily distracted
Old flame Christine sounds interesting......
Good work Shazz you are doing so well.
Elissa - how cute of Archie, glad you enjoyed the wedding. After coaxing Lachlan for sooo long he is finally repeating after me "I love you mummy". It is so cute. Ohhh so when are you going to test?
And talking of dummies and bottles, Lachlan also still goes to bed with his bottle with water in it. Uses it like a dummy, I have been into check on him and he still has it hangin out of his mouth and fast asleep. I really don't mind him having one. If only we didn't have to get up to him atleast 1-2 times a night to replace it for him. Ohhh sighhh......... Sooo glad Riley isn't fussed on a dummy really.....
Leanne - that wii fit sounds interesting, I might just have to invest in one.
Tania - so glad your bf experience is becoming easier for you and YAY on the weight gain. Good little girl. Sooo wish I could meet her. We will be coming to Bundaberg/Hervey Bay for Xmas thou.
Just made a new ticker. Like it? Feeling pretty chuffed lately. This breastfeeding experience feels so natural and easy compared to Lachlan's experience, which was down right hard bloomey work!
For those who have breastfed before though, I have a question. Does exercise dry up your milk? What sort of exercise can I confidently do without loosing my milk? I am a bridesmaid for my sister in May. 1 of 5 I might add and they are all rake think (of course!!) and I seriously need to start thinking about loosing my weight, otherwise I will feel so subconsious. But I was so annoyed the other day when my sister said what size are you these days we are trying on dresses next weekend. What tha.... she still has 8mths. Nothin like freakin me out to loose this weight now!!!!
Kim: I can't believe you are 15wks already! Is it going fast for you? I found it went so fast with Ashlea cause I was busy with Jayden, shame though cause I really enjoyed the pregnancy.
Christine: Thanks :) I said I wasn't going to perservere this time but I did and I'm glad I did now. Woohoo an old flame! Did you talk to him? How was your DH about it?
Elissa: Jayden's sleeping is 100% *touch wood*! Day sleeps have been disturbed a little the last couple of days as we weren't home at the right time today and yesterday SIL was here....I wouldn't sleep with her in the house either LOL. How cute Archie saying that on the mic! Jayden got all the attention at a wedding we went to when he was 8mths old even the waitress took him to show the other waitresses! TEST NOW TEST NOW!!! PM me your address I will send you the HPT's I have....TEST TEST TEST!!
Shazz: WOOHOO on your exam, well done hun!
Sheree: LOVE the ticker!! Riley is so cute! Let me know dates that you will be here and I will make sure I'm free, least I'm not at work now! YAY for your BF'ing experience! Although I had problems initially this time, its still so much easier than with Jayden...we didn't get it right then until about 4mths maybe more. Re: exercise, I ride between 5-6kms a day on my exercise bike and I have no milk supply issues at all, I also run around the house/shops/anywhere after Jayden and stress over how much I do with little or no help and still no worries with supply. You don't have a low supply already do you? I think as long as you are feeding all the time you should have no worries....maybe post in BF'ing problem sect and Barb will be able to tell you...She has helped me with my problems. I am getting a bit annoyed with the weight I still have on me, and it didn't help that when I was standing on Chris' back to crack it (sick and very bad I know!) he asked if I was heavier! We have just been out for dinner though!
I think we may have got rid of the dummy! It is completely broken but Jayden still wanted/needed it (I will take a pic of it, its so disgusting!), we started putting a little honey on it as Jayden HATES honey. So when he asked for it he'd put it in and then say it was yukky, I told him to put it away if its yukky. Now if he mentions it he says "D-D.....Yukky" all while crying but he doesn't want it now. He went to sleep without it today and I don't think he had it to go to sleep tonight either!
I'll be home all day tomorrow hopefully...I have heaps of house work to catch up on! Well bed time for me.
christine - why is it that men seem to age so much better than us?
shazz - well done on the exam results! It doesn't sound lazy to me it sounds very smart
sheree - LOVE THE NEW TICKER!!!! Riley is so adorable! I am so happy for you that you are finding bfing so great this time around. i tested this morning BFN. Please try not to stress about losing the weight for the dress shopping. It is easy to take a dress in when you lose weight.
tania - glad to hear that Jayden is sleeping well. I tested this morning and got a BFN, i am sure im pg though...I would love your tests, how lovely of you to offer them to me, i will pm you my address ASAP, thankyou so much. WOOHOO on Jaydens dummy, thats awesome.
I swear i must be pg but i got a BFN this morning! I have really painful bbs and they are really hot too, i had to take Panadol last night so i could get to sleep cause they hurt so much. Oh please just give me a positive test!!!
Elissa: I can't believe it was a BFN! Are you usually regular? I still haven't counted how many tests I have but there should be about 5 give or take....hopefully you only need 1 like I did (although I kept re-testing cause I couldn't believe it!).
Sheree: Was great talking to you today, I forgot to mention it but I was thinking yesterday I should give you a call to see how you were going but I don't have your home number...txt it to me or PM when you get a chance.
Jayden only asked for his dummy once today but I was able to distract him and he has gone to bed tonight with no dummy! He has also slept through for the past 5 nights I think it is (or this is the 5the night??). I put Jayden in the "time out" corner for the 1st time today, he was crying and saying "Sorry mummy, Sorry" It was so cute I had to walk away so he wouldn't see me smiling! It worked anyway he was pretty much an angel for the rest of the day!
By 6wks with Jayden I was concidering another baby in the distant future, once Ashlea got to 6wks I thought about it and luckily I still don't want anymore! I might be cured of having anymore babies now I have one of each! I hope so anyway, I said to Sheree today that if I did have another one it definitely won't be with Chris! For 1 he doesn't want anymore either and secondly I couldn't handle 3 kids pretty much on my own as I have done with the 2 I already have.
Well I might try and dream feed Ashlea now, wonder how long she'd sleep if I didn't feed her now...he last feed was at 8.30pm then I fed her to sleep about an hour or so later...might need another feed in her to get her through til 6 or 7am. I can't believe how hard it is to get up during the night this time round, I found it easy with Jayden.
I did 6kms in 20mins on the exercise bike today......OMG did I work up a sweat! I'm thinking about starting pilates again soon, but it won't make me lose weight really. Other than situps what else can I do to lose the stomach??
tania - i can't believe i got a BFN either, i have told myself i can't buy anymore tests til yours arrive in the mail so thats good, i can't get anymore BFN's to disappoint me for a little while. Im not usually regular, however the only other time o have had sore bbs like this was when i was pg with Archie. WOOHOO on the dummy, thats so great, and its great that the time out worked too, it is so hard to keep a straight face when they are being so gorgeous thoguh. Its good that you are feeling comnpleted with Jayden and Ashlea, i think i will feel complete if i get a girl this time around too. Maybe a tummy tuck?? LOL, these babies really don't do justice to our bodies. I know i am gonna be horrible at getting up for night feeds next time around too.
i still think im pg, and Jay is sure i am too, he can totally notice the difference in my bbs, gosh i hope i am now, otherwise my body is just being very cruel to me!
I refuse to put a nappy on Archie during the day now. It is such an enormous fight to get one on him and they give him yucky rash all the time, hoping he will just give in and use the potty one day.....wishful thinking
Awww I hope you are! I hope the tests I send give you a BFP! I'll send 5 to you, I have some more there but I'll keep some on hand JIC ;), I might send them to you later anyway.
Archie was using the potty wasn't he? Jayden won't go near his anymore since Ashlea poo'ed in it LOL Might have to buy another one.
I am wrapped about the dummy, it was so sudden...I thought he'd still have it for another 6mths! Reminds me I still have to get a photo of it!
I miss being pregnant...I was looking around on BB and I saw someones ticker who is 33wks and a 3D pic of the baby and made me realise how much I miss it....NO MORE BABIES!!! LOL Would you go again if you got another boy? I would have wanted to but Chris wouldn't.
Jayden, Ashlea and I went out for lunch with a friend today, we went to one of the pubs that has a kids area, it was so good...Jayden was really well behaved and Ashlea slept or just layed in the pram being a perfect angel! Just as well really, my friend has just gotten engaged and although they won't have kids for a while, I wouldn't want to put her off if my kids were feral!
Well Jayden is asleep and Ashlea is laying patiently in her bassinette....She is a little unsettled ATM which is ok cause it doesn't happen often... Better go tend to her.
Buggar ELissa!
Sheree, I walked about 5km a day after I had Darcy and lost about 15kgs - no supply issues for us either. I think it will be affected if you're doing say body combat every day....
Tania, you sound so much more positive. Glad to hear hun. I hear ya on the husbands - I'd like to put mine up for sale ATM - grrrr
That made me laugh Chirstine about the old flame....I was more nervous of the girls at my school reunion a few years ago....
Home with Darcy this arvie...she's sick again with tonsillitis I think....they gotta be coming out soon. Going to get Cam to get a referral when he takes her to the doctor tomorrw....you should hear her snore too lol.
3 more sleeps until I get the keys to my new house!!!
tania - thanks hon. took another test today, couldn't help myself, and aother BFN, feeling ***** now. Yep Archie was potty trained for 2 weeks, then he decided he wanted nappies again and turned it into a power game. LOL at Jayden not wanting to use the potty cause Ashlea pooed in it, too funny! I would love 3 regardless of the sex of the next one, but Jay won't have a bar of it, he reckons he's getting the snip as soon as the next ones born...i reckon i can change his mind thoguh,i hope i can anyway. It really sux when you wnat more but they don't. Sounds like you really have motherhood thing down pat, 2 perfect angels out to lunch, you don't see that often
kim - poor Darcy, surely they'll take them out soon?! Only 3 sleeps, yay!
Feeling a bit down today cause i got another BFN this arvo. Its only my first month ttc and im already emotional about it!
I could have strangled Archie today. We are in thisz terrible power struggle over toileting. He flat out refuses to let me put a nappy on him, i have to hold him down for a few minutes of hysterical screaming, til he gets exhausted and gives in, or, i let him have a nudy run for the day and he just piddles anywhere and tells me it doesn't matter. If i try to put him on the potty or toilet he jumps straight off and tells me "i dont want to!!". AAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!! Why did i have to get such a strong willed child
elissa this worked for us i brought one of the toilet seats that fits over the toilet and it has handles and stairs that he can climb up by himself he loves it casue he is a climber i suppose and as gross as it it is i never shut to toilet door and every time i go he wants to go though now he just goes and puts his seat on and goes by him self then runs out so so proud of himself he hasn't mastered poo's yet he'll hang on until he gets a nappy on it is hard yacker this toilet training and luckily DC has a Toilet training program where they do 3 kids at a time every 15 mins they take them to the toilet ( not sure i would have the patience for that) for the first couple of weeks now they are on to half hour toilet times it seems to be working good luck with it and i'm sure he will get soon enough
My DC is so slack with toilet training. We have katy amost perfect by Sunday night and then she goes to day care for a few days and we are back to square one. Last night I actually hunted down one of her carers and said Look Katy must be so confused. She is in nappies here and 'undies' at home. It was then that she said - Oh, Katy's been asking for undies and we did not know what she meant. What the?
Also.... even though I have asked them to cut back a bit on her day sleeps they are still putting her down and lately she has not gone to sleep until 11pm! Far out. I am so tired and frustrated I don't know what to do. Should I pull her out of that place and try to find somewhere new, even though I know it will be maybe 8 - 10 months before I am (fingers crossed) running my own FDC?
Help girls help!
Personals tonight when I get home..... That is, if PRINCESS sleeps.
shazz - thats great that Ryan seems to be doing so well with TT, i have seen thouse steps in Kmart, maybe i should invest in some.
leanne - sounds like you need to have a good talking to the workers who take care of Katy, sounds like Katy will be TT in no time if CC cooperate. As for the sleep thing, def talk to them about that!
Archie is being an angel this morning, yay. Still no AF here CD42
Just really quickly....Elissa I sent the HPT's late yesterday so you should have them within approx 3days....don't use them all at once LOL GL chicky
I am not trying to TT Riley yet, he doesn't even tell me when he has pooed in his nappy although Erin gets him to wee on the toilet most nights when they have a bath (maybe I'll just let her do the TTing LOL) I found with Erin that leaving it later made it very quick and easy, she was a few months of 3 when I TTed her. I am going to try with Riley in the Christmas holidays when i am off for 6 weeks and he is older, also summer is easier.
Agggh the good ol tt hey! Lachlan use to back up to me and tell me he has done poo poo, but doesn't anymore. Doesn't show any interest in wees either. Sits on the potty for all of a few seconds.... way to busy to sit! I think now it is getting warmer here, in the next few months I am going to let him run around with no nappy on and see if he starts to understand. He hasn't even done a wee in the bath for such a long time, I am not even sure he knows what it is all about and what comes out of that thing.... hehe
Took lachlan back to the doc today. He has had a cold and a red inflamed ear. Dr wanted to check his right ear again after a few days of antibiotics. Now that the infection has settled he can see a hole in his eardrum. We have now been given a referral to see the specialist in Rocky.
This is going to be fun. 2 kids in a town I know no-one. 3.5 hours away. Not looking forward to the trip.... oh well..... gotta get it sorted.
Oh and I forgot to say.
My little boy will be 3 mths old on Friday....
Where oh where has that time gone!
He regularly sleeps thru now. A good solid 9-10 hours. I am in heaven.
Leanne be firm with your DC you are paying for a service you still have a say in what goes on with your child do the document what is done through the day with her if not do out your own daily plan what you want to happen and when if they don't like find another one who will there is no sense in you being so stressed over their lack it isn't fair that you work all day to be so frustrated when you get home you should be able to come home and enjoy the time you spend with her poo to them good luck hun
oh and i think i have finished my first draft so yay breathing space love it
Kim: Thanks, I am a lot more positive now the feeding issues are resolved. I really thought I was bordering PND for a little while there but it was only when Ashlea refused to feed. Hope Darcy gets better soon! WOohoo on the house, can't wait to see pics!
Elissa: Bugger hun! Although it happens it not common to fall pregnant the 1st month I think the highest % is between 6-12mths. I know its hard but try not to stress over it, I do know though how frustrating it is when you want something and to a certain extent you have no control over it....Its happened once it will happen again  Oh if you need instructions for the tests let me know I will type it out for you. GL with TT, we ask J if he wants to go on the potty but not pushing it as he is not even close to being ready I don't think.
Shazz: When I worked at DC we used to take the TT'ing kids every 15 or 20mins, it was a PITA! haha but it worked.
Leanne: I would say something, TT'ing needs to be done always not when it suits otherwise poor Katy will get confused. Can you send to DC in undies then they'd know she has to use the toilet. I had the same problem with FDC not waking J when I asked, worst of all though its my SIL so she feels she has a say in what J does and doesn't do....I kept telling her I can't have J up at 10-11pm every night and she just kept saying its a vicious circle! Basically saying she doesn't want to wake him up and be cranky for her but its ok for him to scream and throw tantrums for his heavily pregnant FT working mother at 11pm every night! Sorry got off track a bit LOL....He has been good going to bed at night lately though so can't compain!
Christine: I've heard summer is great for TT little boys! LOL I think we'll be getting seriously into it then.
Sheree: Big  for Lachie, I hope he gets better soon! Happy 3mths tomorrow Riley!!
Yesterday arve SIL#1 came over which was great cause she ran around with Jayden while I did washing etc, then she was about to leave when I mentioned that I was looking forward to a quiet night with the kids as Chris was going to squash, so she said "Oh if you're going to be on your own I'll stay" Grrrr....I WANTED a night with no one here so she held Ashlea while I cooked dinner for us all, then SIL#3 and niece came over too so no quiet night at all!
Ashlea was great last night, she fed and went to sleep at about 9.30pm I gave her a dream feed at 12.30am and she slept through until almost 7am! I think this is her routine for now and I am very grateful for it! Jayden is also sleeping through again and he hasn't had his dummy for 5 days now!
I went up to my work today as I haven't been there in a while and they are begging me to come back early! Its a great feeling being needed but they have buckleys of getting me back any time soon LOL. Still trying to find something I can do from home, FDC seems to be the only thing...work won't be impressed though!
Well I have to kids in bed asleep now, I probably should have a sleep myself before Ashlea's dream feed
I thought we had found a winner last night when someone mentioned rescue remedy for Katy to help her settle.
It worked last night, but guess who is still up? She lays in bed, settles down okay, quiet for about 5 minutes and then she slowly creeps out of her room and sneaks around the house as if we are not going to hear her.
Last night I got 8 hours sleep. I thought it was too good to be true. Best sleep I have had in about 6 months.
Mabye it's time I packed up work and told Mark I just have to stay home .... In my dreammms.
I totally give up...
Lachlan actually slept thru last night, whahooo... first night in quite some time.
My bubba boy is 12 weeks today and I have been breastfeeding for 12 weeks YAY!! Easiest 12 weeks of breastfeeding I tell you. Lachlan's 13 weeks felt like an eternity!
Riley is sleeping from 9 or 10pm thru till 7am. He has been doing this for about a week now. So I am guessing it is stuck. Well I hope so. What a good boy.
What a bugger Leanne re: the rescue remedy
Tania - yay on the good sleeps from Ashlea and bummer about not having a quiet nite. Always the way huh!
I went to a toilet training talk yesterday and they said TT happens between the age of 2.5 and 4. So there you go, plenty of time LOL!
morning all
Ryan is totally giving me the irrates with his sleeping we haven't had a full night's sleep in over 6 months either nothing we have tried has worked i am hoping coming into wamer weather i'll be able to run him till he just can't run anymore don't like my chances though i am trying to get him into swimming lessons but with work uni and the household to maintain i don't have enough hours in the day
so I am not alone
At least that is one thing
I have heard rumours of a full nights sleep but haven't experienced one for a loooooong time.
S;eep...what's that? Darcy was up for 3 continuous hours last night just coughing....poor kid. I'm so tired though i can't help but get cranky with her. We had cough mixture, the vapouriser, vicks on her chest and her feet....she's so unwell that since we got up at 6.30am (:wall:) she's not been back asleep for half an hour. Two day sleeps yesterday tooo.
Didn't get the keys to our house yesterday as the council are being pooheads.
We've given TT a rest too. There's just a bit much turmoil in the Dragon's world ATM so we aren't going to make it owrse for her.
Sheree, sounds like you're going great guns chick!
Elissa have you got a pic of Archie in his suit?
Geepers Leanne, you're paying them big dollars - they should be listening to you. I'd put it in writing and have it put in her file and speak to the director.
Woops she's awake...round 2.
Congratulations Sheree, making it to 12 weeks!! Can't believe Riley is already 12wks old though!! Gosh it goes quick!
Yay on Lachie sleeping through too. How is he coping with his ear? Is he still sleeping through? Jayden has gone a week today without a dummy. He woke at 5.30am for a bottle and went back to sleep til 7am does that count as sleeping through? haha Can't complain, although I slept through Ashlea's dream feed so she woke at 2am and she was soaked, had to change her and her bedding!
oops got a hungry girl better go, Chris is out with Jayden YAY!!
Thanks for the congrats Tania and Kim.
Hope I am not boring you all with my excitement.
No Tania - Lachlan woke twice last night.... Like the rest of you.... the story of our lives! Rarely ever sleeps thru, we are pretty use to it these days. When he does, we are doing cartwheels.
Congrats Sheree. 12 weeks is a really exciting milestone.
My exciting news is that after 8 months of trying - I have finally lost 2kgs. AND in only 10 days of Wii fitting. I have been doing at least 45 mins a day. It's been really hard work (but really fun)
I'll lost those 15kgs and be on the meds and pregnant soon I hope.
I looked after my 8 month old nephew yesterday and I am cluckier than ever now. sigh
Well done Leanne!!! (and Sheree on the BF) DH wnats to get me a wii fit for Christmas(not sure whether to be insulted or not LOL)
nah don;t be insulted.... Its tops fun
well done Leanne you go girl that is fantastic i've lost 400 grams and was stoked with that we can be each others cheer squad
well done sheree
OK gorgeous mummas here's your new thread :)
